⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We hosted my son’s rehearsal dinner at Bierkeller on Friday, September 26, 2025, in the middle room—and it was absolutely perfect. I worked with Ashley, one of the managers, to surprise the couple with more than just a few appetizers. Together, we planned a full spread of their favorite dishes, plus a few extras. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and more than enough for our group of 20+ guests. Non-alcoholic drinks and coffee were generously provided at no extra charge, which was such a thoughtful touch. Although I had planned to arrive early to oversee everything, life had other plans—and I ended up being the last to arrive! But I needn’t have worried. Everything was already set up flawlessly. My son’s reaction said it all: “You really went overboard, didn’t you?” It was a moment I’ll never forget. A special shoutout to our server, Miranda, who was truly outstanding. She was attentive, kind, and handled our large group with grace and professionalism. Thank you, Bierkeller, for helping make this special evening such a success. From one very grateful mother-in-law—this night was unforgettable! (Pictured the bride and her family)

Google
The waitress was excellent. I didn’t care for one of the dishes so she took it right away and didn’t charge me for it. The sampler platter is a must. What looks like egg rolls is actually a corned beef roll. Then we have these Hash brown things that are just amazing. German paprikash must be a lot different than Hungarian because it literally tasted like hamburger helper with some added Smoke. I’m not sure what type of paprika they’re using. I use hot And sweet every day. Some of the stuff is just over smoked or liquid smoked. I’m not sure. The sausage wrapped in bacon is way over smoked. With that being said, I would definitely order that platter again just for the couple items that are outstanding

Google
Impressively good brunch and could accommodate our large party of 10 without a heads up on a Saturday morning. A lot better than Pete's place in term of breakfast food quality.

Jill W.

Google
Our food was terrible and our service was equally as bad. It wasn’t busy we went on a Sunday afternoon. My husband ordered chicken schnitzel and it was like a chicken tender, it wasn’t pounded out flat like schnitzel usually is. The gravy on it didn’t even look like gravy. I ordered the Bierkellar Bowl. It was not edible at all. Both of our spaetzels were an overcooked mushy mess and the bowl had no goat cheese at all. The waitress never came back to refill our drinks and couldn’t care less that I didn’t even touch my food. The whole experience was so disappointing.

Google
The food and service were great. Blackened salmon sliders were amazing. Awesome combination of flavors. Highly recommended. Didn't know it was Tuesday trivia night. But it was done very well and wasn't too loud or obnoxious if you weren't participating. Update: tried shrimp tacos...delish!

Google
UHHhhhmaiZingg! Service? Spectacular Food? Unquestionable Drinks? Unique and Unmatched Atmosphere? Welcoming and fun! What more could you really ask for?? We love this place! We Love the people. (Customers and staff both!) Vibe is kind and encompassing! Regulars unite! Trivia, Bingo, and more! See you soon!!

Google
Had dinner here because we wanted the chicken and waffles. They were good. The other food items were good as well. Loved the strawberry lemonade. The server brought us an entire pitcher for the table for refills. Our server did an excellent job with our table. We even had entertainment from Santa in July. We sat ourselves and chose to sit outside which wasn't too bad. Parking can be a little tight. Seems to be a popular place so it can be crowded. Give it a try!!

Google
Stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the Schnitzel and it was delicious. Miranda was our server and she was great. Very professional, attentive and friendly. Will be back.

Yelp
Great food and drink options. The bratwurst chili was superb. Had the steak bites and spätzle was exceptional. This is a place that I will return to when back in the area.

Yelp
We were in Allen Park for the Made in Michigan fair. We decided we wanted to go somewhere different (i.e.; not the same cuisine we usually have) and Bierkeller came up, so we decided to try it. When we walked in, we were the only ones there, but it was at an odd time -- about 4:15 on a Friday afternoon, so we felt a little self-conscious. But, we were greeted warmly and after a few minutes, other people started showing up They had so many unusual and yummy looking choices on the menu that it was really hard to decide. But, decide we did. I got the Bierkeller bowl, and my sister got the chicken paprikash bowl. Both servings were huge and were served with garlic bread. Both were also delicious! The service was really good as well. Our server brought us refills on our iced tea (yeah, we don't really drink, but they had LOTS of beer and other spirits for those who do) without us asking, and when she noticed that we were finished, she brought us boxes for our leftovers. This is in no way a convenient location from where we live, but with the variety of fare that they offer and the reasonable prices, I can see myself deciding that it's worthy of a trip just on its own merits.

Janet D.

Yelp
Food delicious! Apparently, excellent beer choices. Unfortunately the only wine they had was barefoot. Very disappointed I will go back. I'll just have a glass of wine before I leave my house.

Yelp
Good German bar food and beer in a comfortable setting. There are three seating areas and each is comfortable. The beer offerings are well curated. The cocktails tend to be very sweet. The menu options have some interesting options. The Bacon Wrapped Kielbasa was particularly good. The service is adequate.

Nick V.

Yelp
The most german thing about this place is the name. Just because you make the coney island inspired American fare SOUND german, doesn't make it so. Chicken tenders? Thanksgiving plate? No potato salad? Wurstsalat? Flieshkassa? Only One schnitzel dish? Served with gravy? Reubans? Hungarian dishes? American dishes? Beef burgers? This reigion especially bavarian region is all about pork, veal and chicken.

Yelp
Food was delicious, especially the Brussels sprouts and I don't even like Brussels sprouts, but I do now! service was amazing, they made us feel like family, the bar had a nice comfortable feel. I definitely be back.

Crystal B.

Yelp
Food was very good!! But they had a door open and the place was so cold. Plus the music was way too loud Miranda was a great waitress

Yelp
Let me start by saying, we usually love coming here! We decided to come for lunch today and I was not impressed with the food or service. I do not expect a lot from the service ever, we really have not had a great server when we're here. Typically we are asking for refills and they keep walking by and not asking if we need anything. So if you want to order, know what you want when you put your drink in. I will end on this...we come only for the food. On to the food, my chicken tenders were dry even with the aioli drizzle. The fries were good like normal. But if I am paying $13 for a chicken sandwich I expect it to have great flavor and juicy. Today it lacked both unfortunately. All in we spent about $50 for two meals and two diet cokes. I don't think we will be back for a while.

Yelp
I was in town for work and found this gem! I got the brussels sprout and chicken salad and it was amazing! The service was great! It seems like there were a lot of regulars which made it extra fun.
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the best bar food I have had! The burgers were so juicy and flavorful. I got the Guten Morgan and the toppings smothered the patties in the best way possible. I upgraded to onion rings and they did not disappoint. My husband got the fire haven burger. It had a nice kick, but not overwhelming. He upgraded to Nashville hot fries. They weren't that spicy, but he'd order them again. We were very pleased with everything! The service was prompt and the patio doors were open so it had a nice breeze coming through. We will absolutely come back!

Chuck W.

Yelp
Monday night so easy to slip into the bar. Got provided a menu and drink list very quickly. Started with the squash soup that was better than expected for sure. The schnitzel was excellent along with the German potato salad. The cucumber salad was a good but a little acidic towards the end. Very quick in getting all the food out tonight. Will be back
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here for brunch today and it was DELICIOUS! The ambiance is rustic with heavy wooden picnic table like seating on the inside. We sat on the patio at a high top table. For drinks, I ordered the Paloma cocktail which was served in a cute mason jar. For my meal, I had the country bowl because who doesn't love BnG??? I will definitely keep coming back here for brunch!

Richard K.

Yelp
Bathroom isn't the greatest... but the beer is cold. Can't go wrong with a wicked good service either.
google avatar

Greg L.

Yelp
Soft pretzels were divine, the Reuben could not have been done better, they have various German beer, some German food, but the menu was not limited to that cuisine. There's something for everyone. Everything I ate & drank was top notch and Erica's service was exemplary :) I will return for more!

Tony C.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood Tavern with a great selection of craft beers and an eclectic menu. The tables are large enough to be used as community tables and they also offer a covered patio and an outdoor patio as well. The staff is always outgoing, friendly, and look out for their annual Oktoberfest party.
google avatar

Yelp
This is mine and my wife's first time here. Upon walking in and seeing the Drinky Drink on the menu, we knew this place was owned by the owners of Bierhaven & Big Al's. So, we knew we'd get hood eats and drinks. And asking our server if it was possible? She said it's the first place he's owned before the other two. So, wanted to try something different and we did. We weren't disappointed at all. This is the smallest of all three establishments but, just as well a good place to dine. We'll be back.
google avatar

Brittni E.

Yelp
Service is great. They always have specials. During the summer you can sit outside on their cute patio.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Great food, service, employees and Ownership. Good selection of German cuisine and themed dishes. Rustic ambience with friendly atmosphere.

John M.

Yelp
Cool enough place with a friendly staff and an engaging vibe. Nice place to while away a bit of time and have a drink or two (and maybe a bite to eat). I would definitely recommend here.
google avatar

Kara S.

Yelp
We waited twenty minutes to order at a restaurant that had four parties at it. Then over thirty for mushy spatzle. The wings and chicken fingers were tasty but not worth a two hour meal. Inside was dark outside was comfortable enough make it a good place to drink a beer or two and play corn hole on a pretty day if you're not in a hurry.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great. Amazing authentic German style American options as well as a variety of other options they are non German as well. The food is hot, came out quick and well prepared. The service (being that there was only one server) was as good as it could be. They do a celebratory drink every night at (I believe 7) authentic to the traditions they have. The only rewind is that everyone listen for a quick moment while they do the celebratory toast (in which many talk over and we're rude) Prices were spot on for the extra large portions. Everything was overall pretty good Outside seating, inside has clean floors that don't get your sticky feet thing going on. Overall good. I would come back.
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
Awesome German food, Spätzle was amazing not too spicy great place to stop in and get quick good food.
google avatar

Crissy W.

Yelp
Too expensive. The food was good when they first opened , now it looks sloppy and burnt.

Sarah Y.

Yelp
Seating inside is a bit uncomfortable with long heavy backless benches but they are nice to look at. Our server looked like she would like to be anywhere but there. The service was slow and the wait to get our check made me wonder if they wanted my money. My dinner was pretty good a simple schnitzel and spatzel, but not great. My spouse had the Cuban and he did not appreciate the dried out burnt ham and lack of mustard. This was a one and done.

Cheryl M.

Yelp
They DO NOT honor reservations except for a select few I've been going every Wednesday for music bingo and requested a certain table.. would point that out to staff, one time they knew of said reservation but said people would be finishing up would I please sit here and wait ?? They never left in fact stayed for bingo and the staff member never even addressed issue again... what was the point? I did however see other people come in saying they had a reservation and the staff went all out to accommodate.. that left sourness in my mind

Yelp
Love the Ambiance at Bierkeller! Such a cozy vibe to gather with friends. I love the chicken pop soup Amazing selection of beer enjoyed 3 appetizers and some soup to go! Can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Rick C.

Yelp
It was a great bar with a large beer selection. Excellent service. Sadly menu is bar quality "German style" but not authentic German food. The winerschnitzel was over cooked and the breading was heavy, not the light breading you would expect. I suspect the noodles I had were recently burned to the bottom of the pan, you can still taste a little burn. The bratwurst was nothing special but to be fair, it was tasty. This place could be great,

Yelp
never answered phone have been calling 2 hours now...since 6 pm until 8 pm gave up. this was Tuesday Dec.10, 2024

Yelp
Taylors German themed watering hole. Located at the corner of Allen and Goddard, its not a hard building to miss. I just got home from work and a drink was sort of necessary at the time. So we decided to check this spot out. Order some Scotched Egg and their Wurstchen Fest (a.k.a. sausage sampler). A mug of Oberon to wash it all down. Let's begin shall we. Scotched Egg: I adore the flavor of the sausage meat. Paired with the honey mustard sauce is winning. I'd have to ding the dish for the egg being too over done. That yolk should be runny. Wurstchen: Three different sausages,, kraut and two kinds of mustard. It's a pretty good platter for drinking beer. I had a pretty good time here. Shooting the breeze with my husband and drinking alcoholic beverages. I would totally come back and spend my hard earned money here again. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Yelp
Went on a Saturday night at 7:15 and got our foods around 8. Server was quite inattentive for some 30 minutes... basically took our order, gave us beer and water then disappeared for 30 minutes. When we started looking antsy, finally came and asked if we needed anything. Just our food please! She was really nice though. Not really her fault that food was slow. The place was packed -Saturday night. But if food takes so long to come out, we do need a little more tlc. Now for the meal. Veal oma schnitzel. It comes with a type of a pasta in mushroom sauce and seared brussel sprouts. The pasta was delish! But the schnitzel was burnt as were same for the brussel sprouts. I would order again and ask ahead to pls not sear too much. I prefer my schnitzel golden, not blackened please! Pork oma schnitzel. Exactly the same as the veal version. Down to the burnt leaves of the brussel sprouts. Kellercakes. Comes with 3 pieces. Nothing to wow, but good. Like, ive had better but this wasnt bad. Probably won't order it again. So the biggest issue i had with the place that we were seated at the worst corner in this restaurant. I think they just put a table there to take more customers. We had NO lights, and the game machine (pinball? Or something like that) was almost touching the chair i was sitting in. The other end of the table was the entryway and sitting there, i would have had someone coming in or out kick me. Because there were no lights, we couldn't see the food. I didn't know that i was eating brussel sprouts and burnt breading until i chewed into it. I even had to use flash when taking pictures, which i never do. Oh and just to see some improvement, since i would come back and try again (and make sure to ask for golden...), it would be nice to have the schnitzel sit on its own rather than atop the pasta. The plate was full and the pasta kept falling out when i tried to cut into the schnitzel. It's like you wouldn't want to have rice sitting under a piece of steak. Though you'd definitely want the rice on the side.

Yelp
The food tasted good from carry out. However, upon cooling before refrigeration, an indigestible solid brick formed covered in grease. It tasted good, but completely inedible. Heavy. Greasy. Gross. The place smelled like someone sprayed the entire place down with beer at 3:30pm.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Good food and great service! New patio area was really nice spot for after work drinks and dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Staff is friendly, service is always great and prompt. Chef Eric is doing his thing with the seasonal menus and tasting menu nights. It's a super friendly atmosphere and everyone makes you feel like you've been friends forever

Yelp
Our first time here. We came in just before 5 and the bar started filling up. Really cute place, lots of beer choices. I'm not a beer drinker and started with a reisling wine. My husband visited the men's room and saw a bloody Mary menu on the wall so I switched and had a spicy bloody Mary. It was good without too much spice. We started with the Tour de Keller appetizer which have 2 of everything on the menu with many different dipping sauces. I didn't care for the brushetta, the bread was too chewy. All of the other items were very good. My husband had the chicken schnitzel with spaetzel and sweet potato fries. He said that it was good but disappointed that a German restaurant didn't offer German potato salad. I had the chicken paprikash soup. This was very disappointing for me as I grew up eating paprikash. The soup lacked flavor, chicken and spaetzel. Maybe they try to offer too many different food choices to perfect the German offering.

Dominick N.

Yelp
Always love coming here. The waitresses remember you and are always very friendly. Easy place to walk into and not feel out of place. The monthly drinks aren't always hitters but like I said it's an all around good place to relax and have a couple drinks. The food is also stellar.
google avatar

Kristen G.

Yelp
I really wanted to give this place a 5 star review just based on how great I've consistently heard it is. I'm glad I finally got tot check it out for myself. Service was on point, food was just alright. I got breakfast and omelet it was kind of greasy like it would be from a coney. My fiancé got lunch, his chicken fingers were a little well done. The fries were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfect however! Also since it was Sunday we took advantage of one of their many mimosa specials. We got the bottle for $20. Not a bad deal at all... except we made the poor choice to get the flavored bubbly... yuck, I strongly advise against this. It literally just tasted and felt like I was just drinking sugary strawberry OJ... because it's only 5% abv. So we were disappointed in our drinks choice for sure. We might be back just for another go, since we've heard so many good things!

Coy P.

Yelp
My recent experience at Bierkeller was wonderful. The ambiance was lively and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere for enjoying a meal. The overall vibe and service exceeded my expectations.
google avatar

Denisse R.

Yelp
Small pub! But wow their burgers and wings won my heart ! They have a bunch of beers and specials during the week ! I like the long tables that can fit around 10 people! I think they could improve in being more attentive to people that actually eat, It took me 10 min to get ketchup. Otherwise the staff is great ! Preetty dark place however their outside is cute ! Can't wait to get another burger!
google avatar

Jacob B.

Yelp
Good food and drinks. Love the specials. Great staff I would definitely recommend. Very consistent never leave dissatisfied

Jeannie S.

Yelp
The food has gone downhill. I quit going there a while ago. Service is good. The ambiance is good!
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
The experience here was great! The staff was so nice and attentive. It was very busy when we arrived so we sat at the bar and the bartender was so courteous and sweet! The beer selection is top notch as well. The only problem I had was lack of flavor in the food. My fiancé and I both order the schnitzel and it literally had no flavor at all. The breading was perfectly crunchy though! The mashed potatoes were pretty tasty though! We will be back to try it again. They also had a private event going on in their separate room, so if you're looking for something like that, look here!

Yelp
"Everyone raise your glasses! It's 9 o'clock and it's time for our nightly Bierkeller tradition, a toast to everyone that's here tonight" says the evening's toastmaster. "The Bierkeller Toast" is a great way to be a part of the camaraderie that's part of the appeal of this great neighborhood tavern in the south of Metro Detroit. Now both Allison F.'s and Jacob F.'s reviews say "You come in a stranger, you leave a friend." and I couldn't have said it any better. I've done the happy hour thing with them both as well as other local Yelpers: Derek F. and Margaret V. and it's always been a good time for sure. There's plenty of options for great food and their beer list is impressive with some damned good drink prices too. Wednesday is my day of choice with their $3 pints. Don't forget to get yourself a menu and be tempted by some of their house favorites like the Sweaty Pig, Rueben, Warm Pretzels With Mustard, Chicken and Waffle Sandwich or even the Fo Schnitzel - a breaded chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun. Now if you are lucky, you'll get Hassan as your server. I'm not sure how this guy does it but I'm convinced that he can read minds because when you just start thinking you might want another drink, Hassan shows up. He keeps your flow going and that's A+ to me. Relaxed and friendly, warm and welcoming. It's a solid 5 star place.

Yelp
Great local bar atmosphere. Attentive bartender Brittany. Food was very good. Will be back again and again. Manager and owner took time to talk with us was a great management involved. If look for a good bite and good people stop by and see them.

Yelp
I was really hoping for a more extensive German/Eastern European beer selection. I am a Lager/Pilsner/Kolsch nerd and there was only one true lager (Spaten......zzzzzz) no Kolsch and their Pilsners consisted of Labatt's Light, Bud Light and Stella (good but you can get that everywhere around here). The rest of the beers offered were fine but pretty commonly found and far outnumbered the Euro offerings. Sausage plate was good. Service was good.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Great staff/management and the food is to die for. Super nice atmosphere! I highly recommend you check this little gem out!
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
I personally only enjoyed some beers (with solid selection), I visited with friends that did order several food options worth commenting on and definitely sharing a review. The scotch eggs (hardboiled eggs made into a sausage ball) looked oh so good. Also apparently great was the chicken paprikash bowl and the fo schnitzel (think crispy fried chicken) sandwich. Lastly, garlic pepper season fries - they got two more orders of it! Solid drinks options! Multiple draft choices with 16, 23 and 34oz sizes but also had various cocktails and other drink options readily available and all quickly served! Definitely worth checking out if you want German style food or a good beer garden!

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Dearborn, we typically brunch and then grab take out or eat leftovers for dinner. So when BF's dad was visiting, we had no idea where to go for dinner! Luckily, we found Bierkeller on Yelp. The menu looked pretty cool and BF's dad is a huge beer person, so we thought it would be perfect. Bierkeller features a ton of large bench tables and you seat yourself. Once you've been seated, someone will come and drop off menus/take your order. We arrived during Happy Hour since we were having lupper on a Thursday evening. Hurray for half price appetizers! I saw that they had Kona Big Wave Golden Ale on draft, so I went for it. A draft only cost $3.50! In NYC, you'd be lucky if you can grab a $5 beer for happy hour. We opted to split three things - Soft Pretzel Sticks with beer cheese and whole seed mustard - Caesar Salad - Wurstchen Fest - sliced bratwurst, knockwurst, and kielbasa with sauerkraut, red cabbage, onions, Dijon mustard, and whole seed mustard The soft pretzel sticks were my favorite - I love a good soft, warm pretzel with some beer cheese. I also really enjoyed the sausage fest. I think the kielbasa was my favorite, followed by the bratwurst. This plate is HUGE, so definitely share it. Service was friendly and attentive. We had a great time at Bierkeller and would definitely recommend it to any beer lover. Their beer menu is long and features a ton of really good drafts.

Yelp
Places like this remind why Downriver has shit for taste! Our palette's must be burned from generations of factory dust, poison river water and toxic land, as this place wouldn't last a week where people actually care about food, service, cleanliness and total experience. Sometimes I really hate Downriver! Food is meh. Service is meh. Everything is meh!!!
