Come for weekday lunch and the place is definitely not crowded at all. Ordered the pan fried bun as the owner said they made in fresh for certain qualities each day only. It is juicy but I don’t like the dough. There’s other better dough in other restaurants. The beef noodle in soup tastes in average. The hand made noodle is good and chewy and will make you full. Rice noodle roll tastes okay. Overall, not bad. But nothing made me want to come for another time.

I really enjoyed my food here. I got the pan fried pork bun- they were so good! So juicy, good crisp. Also got the flat & wide hand pulled noodles. Great texture, tasty sauce. Will definitely be back.

Tried Big Beef Bowl for the first time and it was a great experience. Service was very good and friendly, which made us feel welcome right away. We ordered the oxtail noodle—broth was rich and tasty, and the oxtail was super tender. Also had the lamb skewers, which were very flavorful and well seasoned. Overall, really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Will definitely come back again.

I went to most of the restaurants in the plaza. It’s such a busy plaza btw. I saw the poster of Big Beef Bowl on the window when waiting outside in one occasion. I wanted to try their oxtail noodles so I went back the next day. About the pros, their service is amazing. Very warm, friendly & fast. I didn’t have to wait and they explained every question about a dish. They seem to have some variety of food choices so it’ll be great for everyone. I liked their fried items and the water chestnut cake is good, warm and not too sweet. It could be me trying a lot of food in different restaurants over the years so my taste is quite specific. I didn’t find myself liking the noodles; the potato salad is watery and not particularly good. They are not busy during my visit but the count of their customer coming is decent. Again their customer service is the glue in the book here. It’s a nice restaurant, low key, no fuss where you & family can come in and enjoy the moment.

Good place for quick eats. The noodle portion is very good and flavour is nice. Wouldn't recommend the pan fried baos or the congee though. The pan fried baos are very doughy and congee doesn't taste like other congee places (and not in a good way). Would come back for the noodles though.

The ramen isn’t good. The broth doesn’t taste right, and the noodles aren’t enjoyable either. Not the kind of ramen I like — I ate a few bites and didn’t want to continue. There’s very little meat as well.

RATING PURELY BASED ON FOOD: Ordered the clear broth brisket noodle, braised beef noodle, pan fried buns, chili oil chicken. - Chili oil chicken was pretty solid the chili oil has a good balance of numbing and spice while the chicken was tender and smooth texture. - Pan fried buns was alright it had a good flavored broth and a decent wrapping however it would be better if the bottom wasn’t as thick as it was with the wrapping. - clear broth beef brisket noodle was average the soup was pretty good and noodle had a good chewy bouncy texture to it. However the brisket was below average (slightly more to the tougher side) - braised beef brisket noodle was the same but the soup was significantly better than the clear broth. Overall 3/5 in taste. 👍👍

This is the best beef noodle place in the area!! This is for sure our go to place if we have no idea what to eat. Their fried chicken and pan fried dumplings are also good too! Definitely recommend to you all!

First time visiting this place, we ordered five dishes , it is ok , service is great and fast, I would come back again try more other dishes !

Came here for a weekday breakfast, they have breakfast deals until 11:30am on weekdays. It is a great deal with combos of congee and a side for $7.75! There was a wide variety of items to choose from, congee, rice rolls, and a variety of snacks. We got a couple of congee and snack combos and also a couple of side orders of other things. The congee portions were gigantic, more than enough for two people to share and have their full. The fried dough was good too and big. Overall a great deal and good food, lots of options to choose from. Will need to come back to try their hand pulled noodles.

First time at Big Beef Bowl in Markham! I finally got to try their famous noodles and ordered the large Beef Offal with rice noodles--so flavorful and packed with meat. Great portions, great price. Can't wait to go back and explore more, especially their breakfast combo!

Got shrimp 肠粉。 it was pretty good. Wrapper was not too thin or too thick. There were bite sized shrimp present. Service was standard and nothing to complain about. The sauce paired nicely and wasnt too salty or sweet. The place was pretty packed around 8pm. I would come back to try their beef noodle soup.

Had a GREAT experience for my first visit here! Big Beef Bowl has their own menu PLUS a few pop-ups within their shop! It's really great that there are so many options inside one space. It is large and feels a bit like a food hall. Food is super tasty, and staff are very personable and helpful. I am a huge fan of soup noodles, and was eager to try! I loved the lamb soup boodle with extra thick noodles. Ask for scissors to help with the noodles. And the pan-fried soup dumplings are great too. HIGHLY recommend trying the Laksa, and Satay Skewers from Little Jakarta, too. Definitely will return to try more from all the different menus!

Came to visit in the morning as it was leading into lunch time and noticed every table was having congee and rice rolls rather than their hand pulled noodle soup. I was intrigued and looked deeper into their menu and realized they open pretty early for breakfast. So you have the breakfast menu of cheap congee (porridge) and rice rolls if you're into that but also can get lunch during lunch hours of 11:30AM onwards if you're here for their hand pulled noodles. It gets quite busy here so it's a pretty quick meal. Not really a place for having deep conversations in. The servers seem to be always on the go since they're so busy. I always go for their meat sauce noodle which is dry without soup. I also enjoy the flat fat noodles the most since it gets all the sauce onto the noodles. Another must get for me is the san ji bao, since it's pan fried on the bottom, but has a juicy exterior with the meat. A great spot for some comfort food!

This is your quintessential bring your kids here Chinese restaurant! The decibel level is enough to blow your eardrums. LOL. Happy sounds. The food here is predictable: good quality beef, not too much fat, not salty, silky smooth hand pulled noodles enjoyed in a family environment. Prices are reasonable for this day and age. The shredded potatoes in chili oil and sesame oil were exceptional. The lamb skewers (not pictured) are a waste of time TBH.

Located conveniently at Hwy 7 and Kennedy, the restaurant offers lots of yummy food from hand-pulled noodle to clay pot rice and snacks. The interior has a feel of the west, very casual and unique. The Shanghai Pan Fried Bun is dying for, the bottom is crispy, a mouth full of soup when having a bite. The hand-pulled noodles are made in house. The service is very prompt. Love the food here and will be back again.

Wow didn't realize I never reviewed this place after visiting so many times. So here's my review, which I have to say is consistent with my experience from previous visits. Dine in beef noodle soup will always be superior to takeout because your noodles won't be stuck together in the container lols but either way you will get nice chewy fresh noodles (take out version you have to heat up soup in a pot and throw your noodles to loosen it or add some hot water to the bowl and microwave your noodles for a few seconds to loosen it). The original beef broth is light and delicious especially on a cold day! The beef slices and turnip slices are thin and tasty. Good value especially if you get a large which comes out to $17 and enough to share for two people. I like the round regular noodles and my family likes the flat wide noodles. On the side, the pork fried buns and the fried pork wontons were just Ok. I personally wouldn't reorder as I don't think their version is special or particular tasty but I guess it works if you have a specific craving. The original beef noodle soup would be a 5 if they have thicker cut beef as the current beef is so thin and shaved the texture kind of melts and maybe if they throw in veg instead of just a load of parsley (which you do have option to pay extra and add). The soup is pretty good but not outstanding so hence the four star. Still definitely a goodie when craving beef noodle soup.

6 years later... I know times are hard now but you can't be dishonest and do me dirty like this. I ordered their special poster-advertised "Oxtail Noodle" for $17 thinking I'd be in for a treat and it was terrible. When they placed the bowl down, I thought they got the wrong table because it looked nothing like their poster image. There was barely any oxtail to be seen. After fishing to get a small piece, I took a bite and the meat was super chewy. What an embarrassment of a menu item. They really shouldn't blow it up on such a large poster and market it like that if it's going to be false advertisement. I'm so disappointed in this place - not coming back.

We came at off peak time (4pm on a weekend) and was seated immediately. Overall, friendly service and quick food preparation. Impressed with the variety offered on the menu. It looks like two restaurants is combined in one space - Big Beef Bowl that offers Lanzhou style noodle and grills, and West Gate canton restaurant that offers congee, rice rolls, clay pot rice, dumplings etc. This makes it perfect for family groups when everyone has different cravings :) We tried the ox tail beef noodle. The broth is flavourful, noodles has a nice chew, and the meat is tender and falls off the bone. Skewers of wings, pork belly, and lamb were tasty. Cantonese cheung fan was filled with ample amount of meat and veggie. Dumplings and san ji bao were scrumptious and juicy.

Even though this restaurant has quite a bit of seating, it was very busy during lunchtime. Also, this plaza is basically all restaurants, so parking may be hard to come by. We ordered Shanghai pan-fried bao, Chinese cured meat and sausage claypot rice. The table next to us had also ordered sang ji bao, and it turned out that the meat wasn't fully cooked. The server apologized, took back the dish, assured the customers that a new one was being made for them, and let them know that the manager was giving them a discount. That's really good customer service! Luckily, our bao was fully cooked. Perhaps a little overcooked, as the bottom of the bao was quite hard. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. The bao was quite a bit smaller than we expected, though. For the claypot rice, we prefer it from the other restaurant in the plaza.

I had a very high expectation for this place. I recently am intrigued by Chinese noodle soups. I love the delicacy of the noodles' - in terms of variety of styles, the springy & chewy but soft noodle texture, and the depth/flavor of the soup. I heard this place makes fresh hand stretched noodles with a variety of options (thin, regular thick, round, flat etc). Excited to try this place! It was on Saturday close to 2pm but this place was FULL . There were a few groups waiting for table. Seated fairly quickly and servers came to our table quickly to serve hot tea and take orders. Service was attentive and super efficient. We had # Classic Beef Noodle (Size L, with flat thick noodles) : Served with a pair of scissors, because the noodles are too thick to cut with a pair of chopsticks. (It was like a lasagna!) Yes, the noodles were really thick and chewy. I kind of regretted that I should have chosen regular noodles. A bit too tricky to eat by chopsticks. Because of the thickness, it did not integrate the flavor of soup (very simple - nice - flavor) very well. The soup was good. I wished there were more meat - it is far less compared to the amount of noodles. # Fried San ji Bao : Great, crispy and juicy. Next time, I want to try different noodle thickness, with stronger soup options. :)

I haven't been here in a while and recently made a visit based on a friends recommendation. To my surprise, the space has grown and there is much more seating. From what I've remember, the noodles were very good and hand-made. That has not changed. The soup base was much more powerful than I remember but I felt like it might be more flavorful and strong than I prefer. I ended up drinking more water. There are also plenty of noodles to share in the small bowl. I would say that 2 people could share this bowl with a small appetizer for a full meal. Overall, the experience here was great and I would return! I am pretty curious about their other food selections and will try something new next time!

Every weekend i always try and get a seat here. It's always packed!!! The Beef Braised noodles did justice. It was delicious.I did make it spicier by adding extra chilli oil. The place is always busy it was super packed when i was there. The food does come out fast. It can be very loud and rowdy here. I would only recommend the beef noodles was good. Would come back

This place is seriously underrated. If you're looking for a hearty delicious dinner that will definitely fill you up, Big Beef Bowl is where to go! We shared the large beef brisket noodles, shrimp and bbq pork rice rolls, potstickers, and youtiao. The noodles we got the thickest and medium density and it was so delicious. They give you a good amount of brisket and the soup was so flavourful. I loved how slightly chewy the noodles were. Also, they pull their noodles to order (or so I've read) so that gives them a bonus point! The shrimp and bbq rice rolls were delicious too and hot to order. Make sure to flip them so the rice rolls get an equal opportunity to soak in that soy sauce. The pot stickers were proper pan fried dumplings and pretty juicy. They also gave us more youtiao than I expected and they were crispy slightly chewy representations of my childhood. Service was really chill and I loved how homey the whole restaurant felt. Definitely a no-frills straight-to-business great Chinese restaurant I'd love to return to.

Big Beef Bowl is my brother's favourite spot, and it never ceases to amaze me. The place was bustling, as usual. It's cash or debit only, but they offer a very affordable set menu--with congee starting under $10 and noodles under $15--so I wasn't too bothered. I went straight for the oxtail noodles, which were hearty and savory. The broth was mild, and the oxtails were tender and delicious. However, the hand-pulled noodles really stole the spotlight. I loved how they even provided scissors to snip them into more manageable bites. The Rice Noodle Roll was crunchy and savory, with soft rice noodles wrapping it all up nicely. It makes a good snack or a shareable dish if you still have room after all those noodles. I also tried their Shanghai Bao. The contrast between the crispy bottom and the juicy filling was pure bliss. Service was quick and efficient. Despite the crowd, my meal arrived in only about ten minutes. It does get quite crowded, and the cleanliness was acceptable. They're a bit shy with the meat, but they give you enough noodles to keep your belly full. If you're in the area and craving a hearty noodle fix, this is the place to be!

We used to come for their hand pulled noodle and didn't know they started a breakfast/ congee menu and expanded their regular menu. The place wasn't busy which is surprising as the value of the breakfast deal is amazing considering you get a decent sized bowl of congee with fritters/ rice roll/ turnip cakes of some sort. I definitely appreciates the separate table and how spacious the place is in comparison to other similar restaurants in the area. Service was prompt and friendly. I definitely would want to have their noodles again when I come back next time.

When they say Big Beef Bowl they aren't joking, this place serves up very generous GIANT BOWLS of soup! Big Beef Bowl ( 牛大碗 ) Traditional hand pulled noodles in New Kennedy Square is an under the radar casual Cantonese eatery with some amazing handmade Lanzhou-style beef noodles. We ordered Braised Beef Brisket Noodles with regular round and regular flat noodles. The texture of their fresh homemade noodles and the broth is so good. Their pork and chive potstickers are scrumptious. They have delivery service for those cold winter nights when a nice, warm bowl of soup is welcome.

The ingredients are not sloppy and affordable, especially combo. BTW, the restaurant is open from 0830. Don't miss it

Hand pulled noodles! Hand pulled noodles! This was more of a snack stop so unfortunately I couldn't try most of the items. Got to try a little of everything. If you're looking for really slurpy noodles or machine cut noodles, this is probably not the place for you. Flavor bombs all around and the textures for each item was great. I particularly liked the cumin lamb as it was nicely spiced and the char was great. I also got the soy milk but it was just microwaved for it to be hot so...it was lukewarm?

I love noodles, particularly this style soup with hand pulled noodles, beef, coriander and green onions. Even with so many places serving great bowls of noodles, Big Beef Bowl is by far my favorite. Firstly, they are very generous with the noodle portion sizes. At most other places, I have to order extra noodles. Here, I order a large knowing that I will get all the noodles I could possibly want. The broth here is delicious also. Deep, meaty, yet crisp and clear, it provides a great base to the dish and allows the greens to provide contrast and palette cleansing when I need it. The side dishes here are also solid. I've had the buns, fried chicken, and other things and was never disappointed. Overall, I will come here whenever I can. And if you want a comforting bowl of noodles, you should come here too.

Our table got a variety of dishes including rice rolls, congee, and beef noodle soups. The beef noodle soups were the standout items. The congee base its not the best, not very fluffy or thick and very plain one note flavour. The rice rolls were decent but quite standard. We enjoyed the different types of noodles for the beef soups (thick round, thick flat, and normal). We also ordered the sang ji bao (pan fried buns) and those were pretty good! Overall food was good and we would come back again (not for the congee or rice rolls) but the lower rating is due to the service. The place was quite empty (3 other tables) when we went and although there was only one server at the front, it seemed quite manageable. While we were ordering, we were rushed. He wanted to leave with the menus as soon as we finished order the beef noodle soups. We still wanted to order different apps to share like the rice rolls and buns. I understand the efficiency of the staff but let me finish ordering please. We are not even the type to think about what to order when we call the staff over. We had a list ready to go and he was not willing to listen to the entire list of items.

As the days get colder, I find myself craving for a hot bowl of Classic Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup with Braised Brisket. This restaurant is definitely the place to go if you're craving for the traditional beef noodles. It really brings me back to Taiwan. We got the thick noodles with the braised brisket. The brisket was super tender and soft, and the soup was mouthwatering and delectable. They definitely do not cheap out on the ingredients. You can even see the chef hand pulling your noodles through their kitchen glass windows. The texture of the noodles were authentic and bouncy. 100% would come back again.

Was feeling hungry late night and decided to see what was up in this plaza regarding food options. After scouting out a few restaurants, decided to give this place a try. This is a very casual eating place. The menu was a little less than what was displayed on the front, but maybe it was like a late night limited menu. The prices are reasonable for these days. We ordered 2 bowls of soup, choosing the type of noodle you would like. Beef and Picked Mustard: Arrived very hot, just the way I like it. Serving size was good - too much for me - ha!. Well I started eating and it was so good, I ate it all! The Braised Beef Brisket: This was also yummy. The broth was so tasty. Sometimes you have these soup and the bases all taste the same. Not this one. It was a completely different broth. Very rich. I will definitely return to this restaurant.

I've been coming to 牛大碗 for years now , ever since they were in the single unit next door. The food is not only delicious and arrives promptly, but the braised beef brisket has always been consistently good and never disappoints. I always get the round thick noodles which I find compliments the beef and soup very well and are always cooked to perfection. I ordered the potstickers, which were a delightful combination of hot, crispy, and satisfying. However, I deducted one star due to what appeared to be a slight service hiccup. Not sure if it's a shortage of servers or some other issue, as our requests for various things, including the bill, were often left unattended for more extended periods even after being acknowledged. Even after we walked up to the front to pay after waiting 15 minutes for the bill, the same waiter that said would bring us our bill asked if we were there to pick up a take-out order. Other than that, I would still come back just for the food alone.

Food was great! Everything was very fresh and made to order. I was very impressed by the hand pulled noodles. The texture was perfect. Just the right amount of chewiness but not hard or soggy. Great flavor and the cheung fun was thin and very smooth. They're short-staffed so a lot of drinks on the menu were not available to be made to order. This is a quick paced restaurant so don't expect over the top good service. This place takes cash and local debit cards only.

Now LLBO. Fresh hearty bowl of noodles with lots of snacks and now even congee and hot clay pot rice! Spacious design and great service. For only a dollar more you can upgrade to a large. It's totally worth it if you're hungry. But eat quickly, or the noodles will soak up the broth. Will definitely come back again.

One of my favourite spots in Markham for hand pulled noodles - Big Beef Noodle is a family owned restaurant that I highly recommend. Even when its hot or cold, something about their soup noodles always hits the spot! Usually we're fairly lucky to be able to grab a seat quickly during common lunch hour, but I can gurantee that although they have plenty seats available, Big Beef Bowl always fills up fast with families, couples, friends etc. Their menu consists of the classic noodle dishes you can choose from, as well as the noodle style youd like. They also have many asian appetizers/snacks, clay pot rice, rice rolls and Shanghai fried buns! I always opt for the Spicy Braised Beef noodles, and if youre worried about the spice hiting you, it's honestly mild (to me LOL). There's homemade chilli sauce on the sauce if youd like to add more kick. The Shanghai Fried Buns are delicious as well, but I would definitely wish it had abit more juice as sometimes they're abit soup less in comparison to many I've had. Overall the service, and food is quick, satisfying and perfect if youre on the go. They take card and cash! IG: Ayenomz

Love this place! I've been here over a dozen times, and the food is always delicious. My personal favorites are the beef offal soup noodles, fried fish skin, and dumplings.

Big Beef Bowl has been my goto place for hand-pulled noodles since I tried it last December. I can't say if it's the best because I've only tried about 3 other hand-pulled noodle places, but it's currently my favourite. As with most hand-pulled noodle places, you can customize the noodle shape and thickness. This will affect the texture and chewiness of the noodle. (The thicker the noodle, the chewier the mouth feel... think angel hair vs. Linguini pasta). I usually get the regular or thick flat noods. The "Classic" noodles come with beef slices, thin turnip slices, and corrinader in a savory beef broth. It's mucho yummy! The portion of the small is generous, so be warned if you want to order side dishes. On this visit, my eyes overpowered my brain, so I ordered the Turnip cakes and pot sticker sides as well. Not much I can say about the Turnip cake. They are your standard dim sum styled side. It was good. The pot stickers were better than most places. Filled with pork and chives (I think) and pan fried to crispy perfection! Dip them into the accompanying black vinegar and take those dumplings to the next level. I think it's obvious I'm a fan of their noodles and sides, but they also have an extensive variety of congee and claypot rice items. (Haven't tried yet). I went around 1:30pm on a Sunday and it was busy, but I still managed to get a table. The wait staff were fast and polite, but could smile more... they seemed so serious! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try an affordable, delicious bowl of hand-pulled noodles in a causal setting... My 2 cents.

This is the second time I went here. They are famous in soup noodle and dry noodles dishes. Soup base are tasty and you can pick different style/thickness noodles, all are pretty good. This time I really want to try their Sang-Ji Fried Bao, tasty and juicy meat stuffing and thin skin. Friendly service and spacious interior. Honestly their prices are quite reasonable compared with other Sang-Ji Fried Bao place. Recommended

We ducked in here day after the first heavy snow fall. Ordered the Braised Beef Brisket and Lamb Noodle Soup. Both with flat thick noodles. Portions were generous, even for the small size. The beef soup was very flavourful and hearty. The noodles was springy and has an awesome chew, I couldn't stop eating it. The brisket was mostly tender and bouncy, had a few pieces that were a bit tough. I added some vinegar and chili oil, has a nice toasted sesame taste, wish it was spicier tho. The soup for the lamb had a meaty yet clean taste. Can tell it was simmered for hours as it had very deep lamb flavour. The noodles soaked it up nicely. The meat was soft and not gamey. The hot soups here are perfect to warm up with for those really cold days. Plus hand pulled noodles...nuff said.

Was craving some beef noodles and Big Beef Bowl is always a good choice. I was confused at first since their menu also included clay pot rice dishes. Got their classic beef and it came in a big bowl (just like their name said)! I like how you can choose the thickness and firmness of your noodles. I always go with thin because I feel like you get more I think the broth could be more flavourful and beef was a bit chewy. Service was attentive and restaurant was spacious.

Tried their braised beef brisket noodles (spicy) It was pretty tasty and a good deal considering it was on $11 or $12. the soup was very good and so was the beef brisket. Service was nice and they also had a good amount of other side dishes to choose from. Their Cheng fan I enjoyed as well. Can see myself coming back.

Don't you love when a restaurant name tells you everything you need to know? What can you get here? Big beef bowls. What's in the bowls? Hand-pulled noodles. Can it get any more obvious? So what should you order here? Is it their big beef bowls? Well yes, but also not necessarily. Out of everything we ordered, the beef noodle was actually not my favourite, but damn it, it was hard to compete. Everything we ordered was so good! First on the list are those juicy pan-fried pork buns. Oof. So good. Beware of splash alert because these things got a crispy bottom and juicy insides. Then, came the sample order of chicken in chili oil that was free with a $20 purchase on UberEats. I wasn't expecting much from the freebie but I underestimated it. The chicken was fall apart tender and soaked up all that good chili oil. Slight hint of spice, but very savoury. Then the noodles in black bean sauce and cucumbers. Huge portions, very saucy, and mixed up with those chewy hand-pulled noodles. So how can a simple beef brisket soup noodle compete? It was great in its simplicity. The thick noodles were similar in texture to Magic Noodle though feels a bit thicker. The broth was nice and clear, with less MSG. And oh my, so much beef brisket. Lots of big, chunky pieces of beef. That's what I want to see. Less garnish, more meat. It's was a very good big beef bowl...even if it couldn't compare with those juicy buns and chili chicken. Despite it being takeout, we are thoroughly impressed. Great prices, great value, and great food. We came for the big beef, left craving their pork and chicken as well. Definitely ordering takeout from them again, and soon.

Ordered a classic beef noodle and one clear broth brisket noodle, with a side of pan fried dumplings. Reasonable prices, good portion and good taste. I did prefer the beef noodle and will likely order this again next time. 10% off discount if paying via cash.

As the name says, it is a big bowl of beef noodles and they weren't kidding! There was a generous helping of beef and expect lots of noodles. They also fill a separate container full of very hot soup. I got the round thick noodles and they were nice and chewy. We placed our order and it was ready in 10 minutes. There's lots of free parking outside and we were the only ones waiting for our food. Oh, pay in cash and you will get a 10% discount.

Their beef noodle soup is the kind of dish that will warm your soul on a chilly day. Tender beef slices swimming in delicious beef broth that's rich, fragrant and full of depth. The noodles were also hand pulled and had just the right amount of chew.

I still think this place is absolutely fantastic! I think I've been coming here far too often lately, because it's just such a great bowl of noodles. I've been trying a variety of their other noodles, other than my go-to Braised Beef Brisket noodles. The lamb is very nice and the sliced beef is great too, however the portions are really the best in the brisket! The extra thick flat noodles are also fun to try. They're a bit more form than the regular ones, and the noodles themselves are SO thick and are basically 3 continuous strands of noodles making up your whole bowl!

One big positive about staying at home is that I have been going through my list of bookmarked eateries in my neighbourhood and ordering takeout. It has been great discovering new eateries. A couple of Saturdays ago, I decided to grab a late takeout lunch from Big Beef Bowl Hand-Pulled Noodle. I ordered through Skip the Dishes. I got Shanghai pork-filled pan-fried baos as a starter. I also ordered a small classic beef bowl, with flat, thick noodles. You can choose from a number of noodle widths. I went all out. I recall placing my order in front of Comebuy, in my car, before heading inside to pick up my bubble tea. My order was filled in twelve minutes. Impressive! It didn't take all that long to drive over here from downtown Markham. I parked in front of the restaurant and noticed that it's next door to Ramen Misoya. It's both cool and deadly, as I love that place. I walked in and a nice man had my order in his hand. He handed it to me. He had a huge smile on his face, perhaps because it was so quiet at nearly 4 pm. Crickets. I thanked him and headed back to my car. I had the most fragrant-smelling takeout that was a pleasant change from sniffing hand sanitizer. I got home and chowed down. Everything was impeccably packed. I carefully poured the broth into my bowl of noodles, mixed things around, and started to eat. There was a lot of cilantro. Ten years ago, I would have picked it out, spending ten minutes to do it. I oddly don't mind it these days. I'll eat it, but it's not a must in my diet. The beef was sliced thinly, as were the white turnips. I grew up having beef brisket with turnips with noodles in soup. I detested turnips. They were large chunks of awfulness. It was also a revelation that I like turnips sliced thinly with a bit of crispness. So good! The beef was flavourful and delicious. You don't get a lot of beef if you're a protein lover. If I had ordered the beef noodles only, I would have added extra beef. The beef was tender and melted in my mouth. It was effortless chewing it. The broth was good. Not too oily. Not overly salty. It's how I like it. You get a lot of it. The flat, thick hand-pulled noodles were a treat. They were chewy and fun to eat. It was a first for me. It's certainly not my last! I reversed things and had the Shanghai pork-filled pan-fried baos (a.k.a. sang ji) afterwards. I felt like I was back in Shanghai again. I am a bit rusty eating them. I took a bite out of the first one and the soup squirted out and onto the table roughly a foot away. Oops! Yeah, I needed to get back into slurping. I'm glad that I was eating at home. I could have hurt someone if I were dining at the restaurant. I loved the soup base. The pork was flavourful. The wrapper wasn't overly doughy. It was a bit soggy, though, but wasn't a showstopper. I was impressed with my meal. I'd return to try more items on the menu. I'll need to remember to ask hold the cilantro, but am okay eating it if I forget. I have a new-found liking for thinly sliced turnips. Who knew?! (158)

I came here to have a bowl of noodle, but ended up ordering a lot of things from their menu. I ordered the lamb skewers, pork belly skewer, cold chicken, beef offals, and of course a bowl of beef brisket noodle. The lamb skewer needed a bit of salt, pork belly skewer was seasoned well, the cold chicken was ok, the chilli oil and seasoning on it was excellent for my bowl of beef brisket noodle. The noodles were chewy to my liking and soup was flavourful, but better with the chilli oil that came from my side dish. The beef offals were a tad too salty and not fresh in my opinion, I would not order this dish again. I would recommend the noodles and the grilled pork belly of people were to come here to try. The service was ok, could be better.

Husband is craving for noodle, so we came here after checking yelp review. We orderer the noodle (there must be a reason why the restaurant is called 'noodle'), juicy potsticker/dumpling, lamb skewer and pork skewer, spicy cold chicken. Noodle live up to its name!! My husband is noodle-lover (not me). He approve! I'm not noodle lover, but I enjoy it as well. Noodle texture has the right tenderness and chewiness (it's hand-pulled after all). Broth is also delish! Overall, it's slurpingly delicious! Potsticker, big size, juicy inside, nice crunchy bottom (because of pan fried), taste is good. But I have had better. Cold spicy chicken - wow, so tender! The sauce is tasty and not too strong (like spicy cold szechuan chicken). However, it's not spicy (I was craving for spicy one).There is no 'kick' at all. So don't hold yourself back from ordering/get intimidated with the bright red color. Try it! Lamb skewer, meat is tough. Flavor is good. But won't order it again. Pork skewer, it's so damn yummy! Until now (a week later), i still can 'taste' it and craving for it. Meat is sooooooo juicy and tender, the spices is perfect (it has subtle sweetness). Very different from typical pork skewer (i.e. in my experiences, the chinese pork skewer have all similar flavour...which is same spices used for lamb skewer). So I was surprised when I taste real difference. Yum, I can even lick the plate (from where the skewer is being served). LOL. Highly recommended!

This is my second time coming here. Was craving some noodles and can't go wrong with the hand-pulled style. Got the classic, the beef brisket, the Shanghai fried buns, potstickers, and lamb skewers. The noodles were good quality although the beef portions were not super abundant. It's average. The broth is a bit light and felt like it could use more depth and body. If you're not too picky, you'll be fine. It still had all the essentials of noodles, herbs, etc. The fried buns were great. Piping hot and super juicy. Would definitely get again. Was worried about it being dry based on other reviews but am glad we got it. The pot stickers seemed more like a Korean brand of dumplings that get a Costco. It was okay, not sure I'd order again. Lamb skewers were a bit dry. Wouldn't order that either. Overall, come for the noodles and the fried buns. The restaurant is pretty big and kid friendly.

I can't believe I never stumbled upon Big Beef Bowl until now ! I ordered the braised beef noodle, skewers, and dumplings. The broth is honestly SUPER tasty and clear not super overwhelming. The beef brisket is super tender and the noodles are always done right, never overcooked. Skewers are also delicious and the dumplings are juicy. I also like that they offer small or large for the noodles since I can't each much but even the small I couldn't finish it! I can tell they don't cheap out on their ingredients. You can see the kitchen through the glass where there's someone making the noodles from scratch! Staff are also super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is also very clean and comfy. Will definitely recommend for all the noodles lovers out there !

One of my all-time fave noodles in Markham for hand pulled noodles. This is the pickled radish one and add a bit of black vinegar and Chilli oil, CHEF KISS! The wide noodles is such an experience and I would highly recommend it. You can ask the staff for a pair of scissors to cut them but it is SO GOOD! The broth isn't super salty or full of MSG making you thirsty. This is the perfect comfort food for a chilly night.

Tried their Beijing style Zhajiangmian and loved it. I took the attached picture after I mixed the noodles already, but what I like about this place is how they add a small lump of minced garlic on top of the meat gravy, which really adds an authenticity that rivals the real stuff from the Capitol. They also don't skimp on the cucumbers so the end result is a proper 50/50 mix of cucumber and meat gravy per spoon. The noodles are very fresh and Al dente as they pull it fresh for every customer in the kitchen. I ordered the large which is only $1 more than the small, and it filled me up plenty. This place's COVID procedures are also very formalized which I appreciate. The sea of faceless Hey Noodles & Magic Noodles joints, it's refreshing to see an exception pop out in the form of Big Beef Bowl Noodles. 5/5.

Came here for the bao, stayed for the noodles! This was my first time having sang ji bao here in Toronto. Haven't had it since my vacation in HK years ago so I was excited to try it here. After taking one bite of the bao, its juices spilled into my bowl! The bao was filled with soup and flavourful meat. I think the bao could have been crunchier though. We also tried the classic, spicy braised beef, and complicated cow (beef offal) hand-pulled noodles. The classic beef bowl and spicy braised beef tasted pretty standard, but I like my broth a tad more spicy, so I added some of their homemade fragrant chili oil to fix that. My favourite of the night was the complicated cow which I got with flat thick noodles. I'm a huge fan of beef offal, but having it with noodles was a first. If you haven't had offal before, it's almost like a beef sponge which absorbs the broth. The noodles were also chewy and carried the broth well. And the portions were massive! We all left the restaurant feeling stuffed. Overall, this is a solid spot if you're craving beef noodles. I'd come back again!

Came by to this place last weekend. Came in around 630 on a sunday and the place was pretty full, and for good reason. The food here is delicious. Me and the wife shared a clear bowl brisket noodles with the fattest hand made noodles. They gave us scissors and didn't know why in the beginning. It's to cut these massive noodles. The broth was amazing , lots of rich flavour and the meat was really well seasoned (wish there was more meat). We ordered some skewers chicken heart, pork belly and lamb. Skewers were pretty good size especially for the price and the lamb was bigger than a lot of the places that really spread the meat over the skewers. We asked for suggestions about what was popular and the wait staff recommended the soup filled Bao which he said people come for. The buns were quite tasty and the soup had lots of flavour. Staff here was really good and attentive and prices are more than fair. Parking here is still kind of tough as so much traffic in that plaza but not the restaurant fault. By the time we left there was quite a line up, but it moves fairly fast as the food came out really quick. I look forward to trying some of the other dishes or different types of noodles as you get to pick your noodle preference at this place.
