Big Boy

I googled the reviews for this location before agreeing to come here because Big Boy in general has really fallen off in the last ten years, even pre-Covid when they started shrinking their menu... anyway, I can see why some of the reviews are the way they are - if you're expecting classic Big Boy experiences, this is NOT that, and never will be. It clearly favours take-out service (weird, but alright), and the retrofitting of the building definitely changes the vibes. (It's two building suites turned into one, in a 'plaza' of a Starbucks that would normally come with a Qdoba and Panda Express (seriously, what is up with that??), except instead of the Qdoba block and Panda Express block, it's just one Big Boy with a sliding wall between the two blocks inside!). So the vibes were off, architecturally. Womp womp. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to write home about. Don't go to be friends with the waitstaff - they're not mean(!), they're just there to run your food and run your check. And that's fine for me (as long as I don't have to flag you down for drink refills, lol)! It seemed more like a non-descrip a-little-run-down Coney Island than it did a Big Boy, which was disappointing, but not the worst. I'd still probably go back, but I wish things didn't cost so much! If the cost reflected everything else about the place, it'd be fine - but I'm definitely paying more than that food is worth, lol.

My niece and I grabbed lunch, and the server and manager, those two awesome plus-size Black queens , were super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and hot, and we didn't have to wait long. The only thing was, the floor by the bread near the kitchen entrance was kinda gross, and some buns fell. It's right there in plain sight, so they should clean it up, but other than that, it was a good experience.

My husband and I stopped for dinner last night. I ordered a burger with a side salad & my husband ordered the fish & chips (with onion rings) My salad came out 1st. Was fresh & crisp!! When the burger came out, it was so picture perfect that I didn't even want to take a bite out of it! 😅 The manager (who also cooked the food) stopped by the table to see how out food looked. My husband told him what I had said - and he stated that he Loved to hear that and that he cooks food that he would like to eat himself. His special ingredient was 'Love' and it sure showed!! Fish & chips were great also - with a large portion!! The only thing this place needs is the infamous salad bar!! But the staff & manager are just top notch!! Well Done!

First time back in a while and it was great. The service was excellent and the cook made my burger just right. Plus there was only a few employees there but they had smiling faces! The cook also was so nice he handed to my burger to me to help the server (she was helping another guest). 5 STARS!!!

Clean inside, friendly and professional wait staff. I had two eggs and toast and it was the best tasting breakfast! My Wife had veal parmesan and she loved it! Well done B B Telegraph!!!!

I started coming up to Big Boy a couple of months ago. Originally it was just a one-off visit but my experience there was really positive so I kept coming back. Now I am there every Tuesday morning...and for several reasons. One is that the breakfast platter I get is top-notch, with a solid serving of fresh s scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and sourdough toast. Price is reasonable and the atmosphere is very comfortable. However, what has really kept me coming back week after week, are the employees who are very friendly and provide super service every time I'm in there. Specifically I must call out Syrenity, my server, who is extremely friendly and very good at her job. I never have to ask for anything, she's totally always on top of it, and a really fun person to be around. Then there's Holly, who won me over immediately by cooking my bacon exactly as I like it (almost burnt, but not quite) and has gone on to be a very warm and inviting presence during my visits there. After just a few visits, I realized I had no choice but to make this a regular haunt and I doubt that would have happened had I not been treated so kindly. So, in the end, I suppose this is a long-winded way of saying this is a quality establishment with great food and service and I recommend it heartily to anyone who is looking for those sorts of things.

I have been eating Slim Jims since I was 12 years old. I picked one up today 11/20/25. It tasted sour not good. They have gone down hill in food. So now I have to get a true Slim Jim on Ford Rd.

I meet the turkey named Bob ,he come by daily and the wonderful staff Jade the server and Serena the manager was so attentive you myself my sister and aunt. Constantly seeing if we needed anytime. The fish was very good. Slow down on telegraph before 696 so you don’t miss this southfield gem. The boy boys has been remolded / new.

Ok please read my review with a little caution. I'm old school first and foremost so I'm use to the old school Elias Brothers Big Boy. This particular location is definitely not my style. I'm not saying it's bad or anything like that I just personally don't care for this concept. Walking in it's brightly decorated with flat screens bright paint and a extremely updated layout and design. It reminds me of a cafeteria set up. You walk to the front counter order what you want go sit down and wait for your food. This is not what I'm accustomed to, nothing personable about this set up at all. Like I said earlier, it's very nice just not for me. I like the face to face relationship building interactions. This design makes you feel rushed to order your food. On to the food......it was close to perfect , no issues with what we ordered. I enjoyed my breakfast for dinner and the girls enjoyed their burgers. There were a few tiny things not worth mentioning that prevented me from giving it a 5 Star review. I love the fact that it's back in the neighborhood after they tore down the old location and replaced it with a Autozone. Ambiance was nice. Service was great, everyone was very attentive to us. Pricing is always fair. The location is a little hidden if you're not looking for it, if you're driving too fast you can easily zip right by. I'm sure I will return now that I know what to expect. The manager was awesome! Forgot to get his name.

I thought I checked in. I met my best friends there for brunch. I had driven past for a while so we decided to try it. I didn't know that they had a limited menu. I am use to the older ones. Lots of space but tables didn't fill it up. It came off as much colder than the other ones. Service was average at best even though it wasn't busy. You can't mess up breakfast stuff much so our orders was what you expect. Parking lot in the front. When Telegraph is busy, it could be hard to get out of it. Don't think I will be back since I have an older one closer to home.

This is a whole new generation of Big Boy. All the old favorites are there, Brawny Lad, Slim Jim, Big Boy burger... But also, there is delicious fish and pizza! We went for the fish; Hubby got fish and chips and I chose the fisherman's platter. Both were delicious, well fried and crispy with yummy savory hush puppies and fresh coleslaw. The only thing that wasn't great were the fries. They were okay, but they could be better and they should be better because this is a better Big Boy. Prices are decent and the service was above and beyond. We will be visiting again, and soon!

What a fun new concept. Fast casual style Big Boy. Wide open space with plentiful incoming natural light and a super clean, airy atmosphere. They have a fairly large menu filled with sweet breakfast favorites like Belgian waffles, hot cakes, and cinnamon swirl French toast. They offer trendy chicken and waffles. And then breakfast protein filled entrees like omelettes and egg whites. But if you're in the mood for lunch, there's a large variety of salads, multiple style chicken tenders and sandwiches as well as burgers. There's also a few classic Big Boy favorites like the Slim Jim and the Big Boy Burger. Now for the "review." I'll start by saying that I didn't grow up in Michigan and I didn't have that nostalgic connection that locals may. In fact my impression of Big Boy's traditional restaurants was all you can eat breakfast bars and greasy filled smells and food. Having eaten here, I'll say my option of this new take on Big Boy was a 180° change. I LOVE this place and this experience. It's clean, relatively quick and all made to order (versus food that's sat out for while). It still will satisfy most Big Boy fans but it now caters to a much larger audience. The highlights so far: - chicken & waffles (crisp, fresh, tender chicken breast atop a fluffy Belgian waffle). YUM! - Asian sesame chicken strips (similar chicken as above but a sweet, savory glazed coating). Delicious! - cinnamon swirl french toast - the cream cheese icing makes this a huge fav. "Think" cinnamon roll. - eggs - in the mood for protein - these were tasty but sorry, they can't beat the rest... I didn't try a burger yet, nor did others I was with. So I can't comment on those at this time. The service was fantastic and the environment pleasing. Overall, really amazing for a brand new restaurant. I'll be back soon.

Very disappointing. The restaurant was clean and maintained. concept was fresh and modern with a nostalgic flair. There's even a food truck you can hire. When we arrived the food truck was unloading and they brought the supplies through the middle of the restaurant on carts which seemed odd. Isn't there a door for deliveries? The restaurant was well staffed but the employees weren't doing much of anything. One person was bringing in things from the truck but no one was helping her. I can understand that they probably had a busy day but they were standing around talking and our food is taking forever. We were the only people in the restaurant around 5:30 on a Saturday night. The salad was probably prepared much earlier in the day. It was made with care. However, the dressing was in a cup for quite some time because the top layer was dry and a darker color. The burger bun was really wrinkled and dried out. It looked like it had been under the heat lamp for a long time. The veal parmigiana was terrible. There was no moisture in the meat. It looked like it had been microwaved for ten minutes and it wasn't even hot. Maybe this place is better for lunch but it was such an awful experience that I won't go back. I should've asked our food to be cooked fresh but we had been there so long I just wanted to end the misery and go.

I came back here today to give this location a second chance and that was a huge f'ing mistake. Had the same server as last time and she's so clueless to the point where I don't even think she knows what she's doing there, because it is definitely not serving or doing anything correctly. She doesn't write anything down then is surprised when the order is messed up. On top of that, we were the only ones in there and she was slower than a sloth. Brought our salads at the same time as our food. Salads were wilted and pathetic. She didn't remember what dressing I got. Garlic bread was smashed, flat, and dried out. Spaghetti was NOT COOKED and HARD. It was so awful to the point where when they pretend to be nice and ask how it was, I straight up told her it was terrible and I'm never coming back. I don't give a sh** this is the worst location ever and I pray for the day they close. I've never wished that upon a business but this one NEEDS to go. Also, the staff have their people standing around on their phones and have their friends come in to hangout so they don't pay attention to you.

I'm so excited to see Big Boy up and running under new management! This is a totally different concept then before. You go up to the cashier and order, get a number, and your food is brought out to you. The management was wonderful! Times were a little slower, as they are still learning, but the management was right on top of it and making sure us as customers knew it! The Big Boy Burger was delicious! I recommend onion rings as a side. I was a little sad to see the pies off the menu, however the Death by Chocolate shake was amazing! I can't wait to see how they do!

Bacon - crisp, eggs over medium-delicious. Very berry pancakes - good if you like nuts. I do. The fruit compliments the oatmeal-nutty pancakes. I miss the blueberry pancakes from Big Boy past, but the very berry multigrain was a good substitute. The meeting room is a plus. If you're an Optimist or other club looking for a meeting room, there's one here, with a screen!

Bad service, terrible food,not so friendly staff! A big disappointment. This location gives big boy a bad name! Don't waste your money

I just left this restaurant and the manager could not find my food. He looked disorganized and was very rude. I do. Or recommend patronizing this place at all.

Visited on BB's "birthday". Worse experience ever (even worse than usual.) Ordered 2 Big Boys w no lettuce. Nope. Can't customize. Ordered onion rings and 2 ice teas, no ice. Nope. No onion rings. Got home. Had 2 Pepsis w ice. Talked to Melinda who told me to come back to get the tea. Took 25 mins. Finally, Tasha came to the rescue. Brought the ice tea and offered dessert on her for my wait.

When Maude was little, Maude enjoyed Big Boy. Maude is happy to say it's back! Fast-casual dining @ this location makes Maude happy! Friendly staff, clean areas and fresh hot tasty food will bring Maude back! Burgers and tenders were quite delightful! Maude highly recommends! See you next time!

Spent one hour here and left without eating. I can't think of a worse failure than that. The casual Big Boy concept is an utter disaster. There's no one tasked with making sure your order is correct. I ordered the Mediterranean omelette with no onions, it came covered in an half cup of onions. They were so small and mixed in with the other ingredients I could not pick them all out, so I made the mistake of asking of my order to be corrected. Well 45 minutes and 4 enquirers to the staff later my new omelette comes out: no onions, fine, but also no feta at all, no tomatoes, no other ingredients that make it a Mediterranean omelette at all. Just one sad leaf of spinach, mocking me. At this point my boyfriend who has never complained to a manger in his life is upset enough to ask for a manger. I can't emphasis enough how badly the ball had to be dropped to make my boyfriend complain. The manger apologizes, but never once offers to make it right. At this point we all concede that this Big Boys is just totally incapable of making one of the items on its very limited menu and we all give up. I get a refund, still no offer for someone to actually take control and make my order correctly. They offer us ice cream, which we decline, since I haven't even had breakfast yet. Utter fail. Go to the Coney Island down the road. At least there you'll have a waitress to make sure you don't leave without eating.

I drove by this location about a week ago, and from the road, I could see that it looked modern. So today I decided I was going to come here for lunch. I walked inside and saw all the bright colors the high ceiling it. It feels modern. I ordered up bacon cheeseburger with white cheddar and BBQ sauce with a side of onion rings and an ice tea. The burger was delicious, and the onion rings were great. I will be coming back for lunch.

I expected traditional nostalgic Big Boy and got so much more !!! This was a fast casual concept, that was modern, but still had the warm friendly feel of Big Boy... my son had the most amazing shake "Death by Chocolate" ... my wife had an incredible Greek Salad, and I had one of the best Pastrami sandwiches I have ever had. The staff and management were friendly, and the food was clearly fresh, and super innovative (incredible red cabbage slaw on my sandwich) Best Shake you could imagine with a full piece of cake/brownie on top of the shake with a real homemade scoop of ice cream... (chocolate and sprinkles hardened and embossed on the retro shake glass!! Very cool ... will be back

This location is a concept by the new Big Boy ownership. They hired a chef and have completely re-done the menu. It is excellent. The food is high quality, delicious, and the portions are huge. The Dolly chicken sandwich is a must try, as is anything that comes with the ice cream. Their recipe is creamy, rich and just perfect. Seriously. Go here. You won't regret it!

This review was originally One Star. (My first meal here) My boyfriend goes here to get us a carry out, during rush hour and I stayed home... I ordered the Southwest Burger, (which has avocado on it).......He shows up with the food, I'm geeked up, ready to eat!!! Mannnnn I was livid when I opened my container, I'm like where's the avocado!!!! That was the highlight of the burger for me. At first I was going to chop it up as a failed ordered, but I changed my mind, and decided to call, and also go back to the restaurant. Manager Michelle, was very accommodating and understanding of my frustration with my order. Not sure if this place will be at the top of my "carry out joint" list, but I may give them another try, one day. (see pictures below, first burger and replacement burger.)

No utensils for the salad , cold soggy fries and and average burger was not what I expected

Had SUCH a great lunch here today thanks to Nanette and the staff. First, we felt extremely comfortable and safe. Second, the food was perfect and our order, with several modifications requested, was perfect (and she didn't even write anything down, all memorized!). We sat at the cutest outside tables and had the best time.

So I had heard that there was a new Big Boy Telegraph near M-10 so I was in the area and stopped for lunch. I have not been to a Big Boy in a while because the food seemed very old and tired, just food. I was impressed. I would call it a quick service restaurant where you order and they bring out the food. I ordered a Classic Bob's Big Boy, different sauce, and splurged on onion rings. The food came out promptly, it was hot and flavorful. I understand that the franchise had recently been sold and that they have a new team. Give it a try.

First time visiting this Location with my family. Service was quick, waiter was attentive and checked on us just enough. We will definitely be returning customers!

Had Taste for a Big Boy Burger today!!My daughter Loves their chicken wings! We ordered through Door Dash! The meal was delivered in record time and the food was YUMMMMMMMMY!! Fries were perfect, burger was perfect, daughter truly enjoyed her meal! It was hot and delicious! Thankyou Big Boy! Glad to have you Back in the Neighborhood!!!

Sat quietly for 10, 20, 25 minutes never received a menu or acknowledged. 3 waitresses, 10 booths, 2 other guests. Very clean open and well lit. Asked if we should wait to be seated, directed towards 2 back booths, seems more carryout friendly.

Beyond incredible! This restaurant has the nostalgic feel of a futuristic big boy Restaurant with a menu flair that surpasses any Greek,Italian, French or American menu I've encountered. Love it:))

This is the worst Big Boy establishment that I have ever been to in my life, they messed the order up twice and refused to refund any money because the manager stated that he made the order twice took the m3ssed up meals back and refused to give me my money back even though none of the food had been touched, not only was the food made wrong but they did not bring the entire order. What they did bring was cold.The food was cold gnats were flying around the waitstaff was very rude as well as the management. I'm not giving them any stars. I was given dirty cups for drinking and was never given my kids cookies nor drinks all of what I paid for up front I guess because you pay for your meal up front would give them the right to refuse you a refund for not getting the order correct. On the receipt it doesn't state that there are no refunds however I was told I could not get a refund. If I could I would not give a star at all.
