Big Buns sandwiches are consistently great, between burgers, fried chicken, and even grilled/blackened chicken sandwiches. We often go with the latter when we want something healthy-ish on a weekend dinner. However, their fry portions are consistently disappointingly small, as pictured. It's a pretty easy way to make customers happy; just be generous with the fries. They're good and the sauces are good; but they're small fries, so just give me more. A McDonald's medium would be a fraction of the price w/ more fries.

a pleasant experience, the atmosphere was nice and welcoming, the seats are made out of wood and keep in mind it is a burger joint. I hade an issue with my order but the manager gracefully delta with it to my satisfaction. The restaurant was tidy, and cleaner so I'm rating it 8/10. The fries were seasoned and flavorful. Food quality was great and survise was fast for a fresh to order preparation.

Great corner burger place! I stopped in for a burger and a beer and wasn’t disappointed! The burger was made just like I wanted it and the prices are reasonable. This isn’t your assembly-line fast food joint. They tailor each order to what you want. I’ll definitely be back!

Best burger in Arlington this trip and you won't be left hungry with the portion size. Healthier soda and tea options other than coke/pepsi were nice to see. Can't wait to try the other burgers. Service was friendly and prompt.

Very glad we made this our first stop in the Arlington/DC area. The hot chicken sandwich and burger were amazing. The Cajun fries had a nice amount of kick… and the cookie butter shake was awesome. Would 100% recommend.

Loved to be able to choose the options for every ingredient of your burger. And have good sauces. Food was delicious, only the sizes were a bit smaller than I expected, and the burgers came without side dishes (potato etc). The atmosphere was very nice, slightly smelling fried oil but not too much.

If you've never been to Big Buns Damn Good Burgers, save your money and don't. I wanted to try this place as I see Arlington has changed and wanted to try something different from what I'm accustomed to. I should have stuck to 5 guys or Wendy's. My first issue? $87 for 2 burgers 2 chicken sandwiches, 2 small McDonald's size French Fries & 4 fountain drinks. At a time when we all need to save when spending money, almost $90 dollars for half meals is beyond greedy. The burgers weren't really good nor did they deserve their price. I could write a lengthy review on each bite n the way the flavors all made my mouth tingle or we can focus on the reality that someone out here is charging almost $90 for lunch. The fries portion is ridiculous. At least with 5 Guys you can share an order depending on its size with your family. Here I tried to share with my son but it was not worth the hassle. The Mexican Soda was flat. They didn't explain it was in a fountain. I prefer it in a bottle. The juice drinks were watered down. Had I not taken my mother with me I would have canceled my order at that moment. $87 for 4 sandwiches, 4 drinks, n 2 small fries is robbery. Never again.

I love a well packed to-go order! This is my family's go-to burger place. I love that the food is never greasy. The burgers are cooked to perfection. This place is a nice little vibe and feels like being on a picnic shen you eat inside.

Came by for lunch as I was in the area and was not impressed. I would've been happier with shake shack around the corner Service: food came out fast but the lady who took our order was unpleasant. No smile, did not feel welcome. I felt uncomfortable ordering. Food: the burger meat was seasoned but it lacked any further flavor. The peppercorn burger did taste like pepper, that was it. The 9 year anniversary burger had caramelized onions but they didn't taste particularly sweet or anything. There was 2 sad strips of bacon. The Parmesan truffle fries were decent but I barely tasted any truffle. Oreo shake was ok but didn't stand out. Ambiance: of the tables that were open, most of them were dirty and had trash on them. We sat at a table that looked clean but had crumbs all over it. Looks like they might pick up trash but no one wipes them down which is pretty disgusting. Overall, I would say maybe you'd have a better experience at a different location, but this place was not it.

My daughter was in the mood for a burger for dinner so we decided to try out Big Buns. I didn't realize we had caught them close to closing time so it was empty when we arrived. Although they were preparing to close, the staff was attentive and friendly. They have kiosk machines near the entrance to place your order so I'm not sure if it's mandatory to use those or if you can also order at the counter. I ordered a burger and fries separately but they do offer bundle deals that include a drink. I didn't realize until I had already ordered. I also ordered the kids burger meal for my daughter. The burger really was damn good. The fries were ok but too salty for my liking. I absolutely plan on going again. They have a nice outside sitting area that I would like to utilize on my next visit. Street parking was easy for me to find but the actual restaurant wasn't easy to find by GPS. It's inside of a courtyard so the restaurant wasn't visible from the main street.

Killer burgers! Loved that they were truly cooked "medium" as requested. The chicken sandwich was also delicious -- crispy and not greasy at all. Toppings on everything were fabulous!

This was my favorite meal of the trip. It didn't occur to me how big these 7oz burgers were until I thought about how MCD quarter pounder is just half their size. Between me and my friend, we shared a kids meal and a classic burger. The kids meal comes with a kids burger (half the size of the classic), kids fries, and kids size drink. I'm amused how the kids burger comes with cheese for free but the classic burger you have to pay separately. The burgers were a lot of meat. The buns came out a little bit soggy. We found this combination to be a satisfying full meal for us. The fountain drink was just something you pour yourself after they give you a cup. My friend and I wanted the ginger pear juice when we were ordering and double confirmed we wanted it when we were at the fountains. Their other juices are interesting too -- more choices than just sodas, but we liked how the ginger pear is more unique and refreshing. Also it was cute how the kids cup has jungle animals printed on it. Our favorite part was the fries. I personally like thin fries so these work for me. It's also the sauces that made it so fun. We were allowed to choose as many sauces as we like. Our favorite was the ranch and BBQ was second. The others we tried were nice too which made the eating experience so fun. Also this location is very convenient for us living next door in the Westin!

One location of a local counter-service burger spot Have both pre-set options and lot of options to customize your burger, including options with both chicken & vegetarian patties. In addition to their burgers & fries they also have a bunch of different varieties of milkshakes (that you can also add booze to) + "burger bowls" I came here with my GF and we both got custom burgers, mine with a beef patty and hers with chicken patty. We also split a serving of fries, and I got an Oreo milkshake as well. The fries and the shake were both great, and my GF really enjoyed her chicken burger as well, but the beef burger was not the best. It was a big patty, but it didn't seem like the meat was the highest quality and it was overcooked All of the food took a little while to come out, and the guy who took our orders and served us our food was very unfriendly

Been here twice now. The first time I got a burger of some sort, the second I got a fried chicken sandwich. Both were great options. Pic shown is the fried chicken sandwich. The fries are cajun which got that kick to em. Would recommend just getting regular fries and seasoning them yourself if you're weak (like me). Both times i've also gotten a shake. They have great food, great shakes, and plenty of seating. Service is quick.

My only regret is not finding this place sooner! Got the burger combo- about $14 for a cheeseburger, drink and fries. It's just really good. Trust this random Yelp review and go. The burger was big and so yummy and the pickles were the good ones. The fries were perfect, I've been day dreaming of them ever since. And weirdly, the soda was the best soda ever? It's not normal soda, and I only got soda because of the combo. It's from a soda specialty brand and it's just exponentially better than any soda you've ever had. I'm a burger lover and I approve this message!

College dorm shopping and wanted a burger. Found this place and they sub impossible patties into any of their burgers. Had a Hot in Here and it was good. The peppercorn smokehouse (think that's what it was called) was the BEST burger I e had in awhile. Truly delicious!!!

Despite being a "Burger" joint, their fried chicken sandwiches are phenomenal!!! They are in serious competition for THEE best fried chicken sandwiches...all white meat fried to golden perfection, and its great portion size, with the option to get it on a brioche bun, as well as a salad bowl, quinoa bowl, or non gluten bun all for a slight up-charge on uber eats..but may be different in store, or on their website. Their toppings include the standard lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles, and their specialty sandwiches offer avocado, red onions, fried egg, fried onion straws, bacon, mushroom, jalapeños, sautéed onions, red cabbage slaw, and 5 different cheese options-American, cheddar, pepper jack, Swiss, and blue cheese. There are 3 types of chicken sandwiches offered, and I have tried 2 of them, which were both fantastic!! I didn't get any fries, but they offer a variety of options such as regular, parmesan truffle, and cajun (seasoned with old bay, cayenne, and paprika). They also have fried brussel sprouts served with bacon jam (this is amazing..) and sriracha drizzle. This is delicious but the portion size could be better for the price point. But I happily save my caloric intake for the milkshakes..and OMG..its heaven in a cup. The cookie butter flavor is all that you would ever dream of ;) trust me! I can not speak on the customer service because Ive only ordered online via uber eats..but I know you can order directly from them, and save a bit of money-which I'll try out next time. But my orders are always correct, with a special sticker attached to my receipt reminding my delivery person to "don't forget the shake". This screams attention to details! I highly recommend, and look forward to trying out their burgers too..

Great burger spot with a chill vibe. I heard great things about this place, so was very excited to give it a try. I've had a couple people tell me that Big Buns is their favorite burger place in the DMV. Food Ordered two burgers and fries and they took about 10 minutes or less to come out. We got the Horseradish Bourbon Burger which has bacon, bourbon caramelized onions and mushrooms and horseradish sauce. Really good, not super horseradishy for $12.99. We also got the Anniversary Brgr, my favorite of the two burgers, which had more of a sweet taste than the other burger for $13.99.Burgers came on a delicious and toasted bread. Messy to eat. Fries are a separate cost, they have regular, cajun and truffle parmesan. We got regular fries and they were thin cut. The restaurant has vinegar, mustard and salt - everything you would need to add to your fries and burger. Ambiance & Service Everyone was really nice. Burgers came out fast (but not too fast!) and they deliver them to your table. Very chill inside, no need to dress up. They have many tables.

Adult milkshakes are great also happy hour is fun! Great date place for after work Friday before a weekend

I'm not a big burger lover but these burgers are GOOOOD! They made our burgers fast and hot and it's a perfect location in Arlington. My fiance loved the seasoned fries, I got regular. I also did a build your own burger and it was delicious.

Super friendly staff. Fast service. The 9-Year Anniversary Burger was really good. Good place to get a classic greasy burger. Would come back when I'm in the mood to get that fix.

Best croissant I've ever had in my life my boyfriend forces me to bring him here for breakfast on the weekends

Tasty and fast for pickup! We ordered ahead and the site said about 15 mins which was perfect as we were just about 10 mins away. As we left we got an alert it was ready! We ordered Beets Sprouts & Harmony grilled chicken and some Cajun fries. Unfortunately I ate the bowl before getting a photo first! The bowl was a good value and quite filling. The beets and brussel sprouts made the bowl seem more healthy and still tasty with the walnuts and banana chips. Chicken was flavorful. The Cajun fries was a bit more spicy than I expected. I haven't had old bay seasoning in a while. Pickup was easy. We drove in through the alley next to the place and called for curbside delivery. They were ready!

Submitted an online to-go order that was made per my specifications, on-time, and with all the condiments requested. Pick up was fast and easy. Quality of the food was good and the portion size was just right. Will go back during my next visit in town.

Service is a little rough especially when it was not crowded but the burger itself is not bad. Currently at 4 stars on Yelp and the peppery flavor is present but semi dominating on the peppercorn steakhouse. Fries are okay in terms of texture but the parm truffle seasoning is not present.

Best burger I ever had but the portion sizes for the fries are very small and not that great. Pretty expensive as well. Service is pretty quick. Food overall is very good and ambience is nice.

BIG Buns, BIG Prices, little taste, terrible value. $54 for these 2 crummy burgers, 2 fries (truffle and cheese wiz), and 2 off-brand soft drinks. It took them 15-20 minutes to prep. WTF? I even had to ask for ketchup and mustard. These burgers were dry/overcooked and fries were just decent. The inside of the establishment must have had to AC set to 55 degrees F, so we had to sit in the crowded outside area. ABSOLUTELY NOT worth the price we paid and the worst value in town. This place was good last year when we previously visited. Not anymore. Who knows... in another year, they'll probably be seeking my left kidney as a downpayment and 5.5% APY to finance a meal.

This amazing gem lives up to its freaking name !!! Burger was A1 I got the impossible patty for the steakhouse burger and you really couldn't tell the difference. The sear and seasoning was on point ! The chicken sandwich burger was amazing, the flavor, the crunch the added sauce and pickles all worked in harmony with one another. The drinks they had all good and great in taste wouldn't change a thing about it. Ample amount of seating inside and out. Plan on coming back to try their shakes and I cannot wait until my next visit !!!

Honestly, this is the most average of burgers. Simply put, the restaurant is very much on the smaller side, its pricey, burgers don't come with any sides - not even fries! (at $14/pop) - and the side of aioli that came with the plate wasn't even properly mixed (separate white/Mayo + red/Sriracha). The meat was a decent girth but still on the smaller side, so two of us ordering two burgers, two fries (not worth it), and a (watered down) drink came to $49...like, is this real life? It should have been no more than $20, AT BEST. Atmosphere is meh, small seating area with wood benches and metal seats across. A small soda fountain, self-serve ketchup and mustard station (basic brands), and a recycled paper towel roll on the table for napkins. In other words, it's a very basic burger joint so the food had better be great for the price, right? Not the case, unfortunately. Paid street parking, first come. Service was just okay, not the friendliest, by any stretch, but super fast (we got our burgers 4 minutes after placing the order - fast food level of speed). I wouldn't return, for the prices alone, never mind the small portions.

I think this is my favorite burger place in Arlington. A great authentic and homey feel to this restaurant when you walk in the door. The menu is carefully created and has a variety of delicious options and customizable choices to pick from. I ordered the breakfast burger with a fried egg, bacon, and apple butter (not pictured) and it was sensational. Bursting with flavor, juicy, paired well with chipotle aioli. Delicious burger. The truffle fries were tasty, however a little too expensive for the portion. $9 for what seemed to be a medium sized amount. Also tried the chicken sandwich and it was solid. Not the best I've ever had by any means but hit the right notes. I picked up my order after ordering online and the service was good.

The offer burgers with Angus beef. They also have tons of options for chicken (fried and grilled) I got the Angus Beef burger Brioche Bun Lettuce Swiss cheese BBQ With a Mexican coke and peanut butter shake I was so glad that they had Mexican coke! After many years, I still feel this is the best beef burger you can get in NOVA. The juicy meat patty is always a delight for a lunch or a quick dinner.

I absolutely adore this place for delicious burgers! It's definitely on the more pricier side with burgers being over $10 and fries being from $4-8, but I think it's worth from the taste and quality. Although, it is in Ballston so you probably will have to pay for parking if you're here. I typically just grab and go with someone else. I ALWAYS get the Parmesan fries which are quite filling on their own with chipotle aioli sauce. The added cheese and garlic flavour really makes the crunchy fries taste so good. I always get a different burger here too, but the brioche bun is always thick and buttery, the patty is juicy, meaty, and tasty, and the added veggies and sauces always compliment the burger so well. The teas and drinks they have here are great too if you want to try them out. I also took advantage of the promo online code they have if you order online for the most recent purchase for $5; very nice of them. This is a great place to dine in or take out at. Definitely come here if you want a really good burger and fries!

This is my favorite burger place in Ballston! This place is on the pricier side (burgers are ~$10 and fries are ~$4-$8) but this place really hits the spot. The burgers are served with brioche bun that is so fluffy and they have such a wide variety of burger combos available. My favorites are the classic burger and the collaboration burger. The parmesan truffle fries are my absolute favorite! The best part about this place is that it is right next to The Ranch which is an outdoor beer garden. They have ample outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Eating a burger and fries outside in their patio and then having a cocktail next door is my absolute favorite summer vibe!

Not a terrible burger place. I got an Angus burger and cajun fries. The burger was nice and juicy, cooked nicely. I also got an alcoholic cookie butter milkshake and the milkshake itself is great, and the fact they sell them with liquor is a bonus here. The food also came out fairly fast. Definitely a place worth checking out.

We've stopped here a few times. The bread is Delicious as promised and the same as you can get at other great American restaurants. They have nice burgers, sandwiches, and salads. It's fast casual service what you order and get your own table.

I don't eat burgers as much as I would like to, thanks to my advanced waist line. So when I do have one, I want it to be memorable. This one checked all the boxes. The bun was soft by sterdy. The patty was cooked medium and was very juicy. The fresh jalapenos had bite and the fries were hot and crisp. I'll be coming back here!

Insanely impressed with these burgers!! Had the specialty spicy burger and my friend made her own. Great sized burgers, I was very full afterwards. The truffle Parmesan fries were good (more parm than truffle tho).

Lots of variety on the menu from burgers to chicken patties to veggie options too. We got the Shirlington hot chicken sandwich and the horseradish bourbon burger for meals and Cajun fries on the side with a Nutella shake. Out of everything we got the fries and the shake were the highlight of the meal. Fries were really fresh and had a good amount of Cajun seasoning. It also came with a really good horseradish dipping sauce. The Nutella shake was amazing as well. The chicken sandwich and burger were good, but not amazing in my opinion. I'd definitely come back for another shake though

Tried it once now can't stop thinking about it. Great burgers but I also ordered the blueberry Coke. Sounded interesting and I'm not a huge soda drinker now but I loved it. The fries weren't bad but not a great deal to write home about. Go for the burgers and fun drink combos.

Something for everyone at this party of a burger joint. The burgers are every bit as good as the name promises, but what keeps us coming back is the variety on the menu. Great options for different dietary needs and preferences, with quality, fresh ingredients. The shakes make it the kids' favorite, and the bar makes the grownups happy. We like eating in--it's clean, comfortable and chill.

We were tired and hungry after a long day at work on a Monday and Big Buns hit the spot. Who knew there's a place you can go for a bowl of fresh arugula with a burger on top! Yum! I had the bean burger and my husband had a regular burger. Honestly, the regular Angus burger was a very generous size! My bean burger was a bit greasy but had a nice flavor. The service was fast and efficient everyone working there was kind and helpful. We decided we wanted fries and they brought out some fries at no charge. Regardless my husband gave server a $5 tip. If they had grass fed burgers and a crispier bean burger I'd say 5 stars!

Fricken good fried chicken sandwich seasoned perfectly to not overpower it's sidekick of toppings but the texture might've been the best I have ever had for a chicken sandwich.

Great place to get a fast-casual burger! I've only found a few good burger places in the DMV so this is a treat. I love that they have some interesting options for the build-your-own, which I took advantage of, and that the queso they have for the fries is actually pretty good for this far north of the border. The burger was very good quality, the brioche bun was good, and my selection of weird toppings (pepper jack, bacon jam, sriracha mayo, sauteed onions and pickles) hit the spot. They have an interesting selection of indie sodas and juices to drink. Food was done pretty quickly, prices are higher than fast food and the quality is worth it. This is probably #2 on my list of places to get burgers in the DMV at the moment, and since I come out this way a couple times a month, I'll enjoy partaking periodically.

Wow, amazing place. Ordered the Fricken Good Chicken Sandwich, Parmesan truffle fries and a drink. All in all amazing portion size, good flavors, and decent service. It's fast casual, where they bring you your food after you order up front. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the price. For my whole meal it was around $27 before tip. Was hoping to spend under $20 before tip and taxes.

This place is decent but not worth the price. You could eat at a full service restaurant for the same price. The upscale Carlyle restaurant within walking distance charges about the same for a burger. Ridiculous. My wife and I ordered an anniversary burger, a side of Brussels, a salad topped with a burger, egg, and bacon. Two tap waters. 48 bucks with small tip. Fast casual is out of control these days and I get it's a nice area, but that is nuts. 5 Guys is WAY better and cheaper. The burgers are made to order and thick. I will give them that, but I found the much lauded anniversary burger a little bland honestly. The Brussels were not cooked properly and drenched in a spicy/sweet sauce. I won't return even though it's walkable for us.

If you love burgers, don't try this place. This place might be good for the average person craving a burger, but it is actually not worth the money. I was in need of a burger and was SOOO disappointed when this is what I got.

I can't even begin to describe how amazing my burger was!!! I love burgers but I was very impressed with how well seasoned and juicy the meat was. I always order my burgers well done and I'm fearful of how dry the meat will be. NOT THIS TIME! I ordered the classic with truffle fries and my boyfriend ordered the horseradish bourbon burger. Neither disappointed! The service was great and the cashier was so kind and accommodating. I will love to come back when I visit the DMV area again.

Their damn good buns made a pop up in Reston Town Center and those burgers are damn good. The Fricken fried chicken burger was a tad dry and under seasoned for me. But the peppercorn steak burger was flavorful, juicy, fatty, and excellent with the mushroom and string fries. I'm not a burger eater and that one was lovely. Other notable items were their skinny fries, Brussels sprouts, and vanilla milk shake. You may think one can't mess up on milk shakes. But they can. The thickness of the milkshake was perfect and the vanilla flavor didn't taste artificial? The Brussels sprouts were cooked just to perfection. Not bitter, crispy still by the time we bought it home, and the dressing had the right amount of heat, saltiness, and sweetness. Open a location in Reston!

It's in the name -- Damn Good Burgers! Patties were juicy, definitely recommend getting mushrooms on it. Also the Cajun fries! The drink fountain choices are all super refreshing. The service was good -- not much but just handing the food out. It is a great late snack/meal -- the indoor vibes was just right.
