Big Cheese Pizza

On a Saturday evening..Worst pizza place ever been to. 5" salad bar plate, Really? Can't get a salad on it!! Also, lettuce was almost gone & WATERY! Guy works at register then makes pizzas? GROSS!! Place was filthy! VERY EXPENSIVE for no more than we got for 2 -1 trip salads & medium pizza. Pizza had no flavor, we dined in & when pizza came, it was BARELY WARM!! We will never go back & NEVER recommend!!

Ordering over the phone was not a good experience. The young man taking the order needs better customer service and phone etiquette. Was told 25 minutes and it was 45 minutes instead. The Chicago pizza (deluxe) was delicious. Only problem was it was lukewarm when getting it home. So popped it in the air fryer.

We ordered an 18" all meat deluxe pizza and unfortunately it was overcooked, so it was kinda dry. And it didn't have hardly any meat on it. It was mainly just cheese. We were disappointed, we always liked Big Cheese!

This local eatery has space for parties of 30 and a relaxed setting. It also has fun arcade type games for young and young at heart.

Delicious pizza, fair pricing, dining area could use a good remodel. Younger staff were friendly enough. Love the 90’s charm.

Ordered 1/2 chicken bacon ranch pizza which was delicious however on the other 1/2 was supposed to be pepperoni an Canadian bacon an they put olives which I'm allergic to on my pizza...my salad was soupy an specifically asked for cottage cheese on the side an they put it on my salads. Called back and they told us they would not fix it.....currently traveling an this is not a place I would encourage people to order from or try more than once.

Well we were here a few months ago set in the dinning area for over an hour for one pizza. So we got a refund and went some where else. Then tonight we come in and they messed up the pizza then acted like it was our fault

Pizza was ok on taste. Ridiculous on the amount ( or lack ) pepperoni. Staff attitude was not very friendly. Salad bar was average. But on a high note the 1000 island dressing was really good.

I took my family here for a dinner. We ordered two of their specialty pizzas and two salad bars. They have a really nice salad bar with options. It is also clean and fresh. One thing that could be improved is for the plates for the salad bar, to be larger. The plates, for the salad bar are only about 4 inches in diameter and it's really not a very good value for that amount of food. I'm not going subtract any stars for that, though. This is because the salad is very good. The pizza, itself, was fantastic! We had a deep dish and it would put you to mind of the old-school Pizza Hut deep dish pizza. It was buttery a little bit crispy, but soft and chewy on the inside. The toppings were very plentiful as was the sauce and the cheese. We met the owner and he was very friendly and kind. The inside of the building is very nice. They have an arcade room and a party room. The rest of the dining area is very clean and comfortable. It was well worth a 30 minute drive to visit this location and we will be back !

We only come into town every few years, but we make a stop, or two every time. The atmosphere is welcoming & very capable of seating large groups. The staff is very polite & the pizza is delicious!! We ordered the Perfect 10 & it was wonderful. I've never eaten from the salad bar, but visually it appears fresh & well stocked. Definitely recommend stopping at Big Cheese on your trip to Independence. You won't be disappointed!!!

Big Cheese has been here as long as I can remember. Their food is always delicious! They are friendly & the service is fast... it's comfortable & clean & spacious:)

Pizza was terrible, salad bar had brown lettuce and not edible. The sandwich I ordered had barely any meat or fillings inside and when I asked if it was right the guy there said yes and there was nothing he would do.

This place brought back childhood memories when I had a big cheese pizza in my home town. The flavor was still the same after 25 years, the gem of Independence KS, great service crew were so nice, good selection on their salad bar also, i definitely recommend the ham and cheese sandwich with the special sauce

The food is good, salad bar not bad. Owner is less than pleasant and hours are strange so it's hard to go eat there.

We ordered a sandwiches and they came hot sandwiches not cold sandwiches and they were greasy with no meat on them no nothing the manager gave us our money back after he was rude to us I will never step foot in that place again.

YUM! This pizza has been the best and most consistent in town. Based on the other reviews, you would not like this pizza if you're use to Walmart brand frozen pizza. This place is cheaper than Pizza Hut, has more variety and has great specials. It's local with great pizza and THE BEST cheesy bread! Sauce may seem light because it is a super cheesy pizza, just ask for more sauce if you like it that way.

Grew up with this place. The pizza is good. The manager customer service is not so good. We ordered a pizza and was given the wrong one. (Or was made wrong)The response from the manager was. "We are too busy. Don't eat it and we might make you another one and will call you back when we aren't busy". Wow! I called back. Told them to keep their pizza and I will not be back again. Also acted like we were not telling the truth. Manager said she made it herself and knows for sure it was right. As I am typing this I am in disbelief that any manager would act like that.

The pizzas I've had here were pretty good. The good pizzas raised this review from being only one star. So what was wrong???? This is a pizza place. The NAME of the place is Big Cheese. So why do they only put imitation cheese on the salad bar? A place named Big Cheese has no reason to even have fake cheese in the building except for the few vegans who might stop in. And it's not just fake cheese, but it's bad fake cheese.

Staff is always friendly although upper management does not seem to have very much respect for employees have never had a problem with the food however I did order a sweet tea and it was spoiled

So I am a frequent flyer with this restaurant and overall I'd say the food is excellent with a couple exceptions. I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone could serve salads with quartered tomato slices and cucumber slices that are 1/4" thick????!!!!! And who mixes cottage cheese into the salad??? Then they didn't include a knife to cut the tomatoes or cucumbers! Overall for the quality of the food I find the price quite high. The delivery service here is free, quick and good!! At the end of the day I fully expect to at least eat what I buy!!! This restaurant is a good place to eat but bring your credit card!

Try their Deluxe Submarine sandwich. It's simply the best!!

We stopped in for lunch while traveling through. The staff were very friendly and personable. We ordered the deluxe pizza with no mushrooms. The pizza was average. They were proud of being best pizzeria in Kansas in 2010 but those days are long gone. They are superior to Pizza Hut but you can get a much better pie in a lot of places.

Pasta might has well been butter noodles. Salad never looks fresh and the staff there are extremely unfriendly.

Only Rating pizza not staff or environment or anything else on pizza. I was not impressed with pizza. It was our first and last time eating here. $30 for 2 medium pizzas didn't bother us at first. But the mushrooms they used look like mushrooms out the can and the onions toppings are chopped up very small. The taste wasn't very good at all. I would personally prefer to just eat Casey's or Pizza Hut in town.

Pizza was really good had the big cheese and it was cheesy as advertised. Salad bar was the star of the evening,the only thing wrong we found what's the croutons were extremely salty

Pictures looked really good so I tired it. Was not impressed at all there was hardly any sauce on the pizza . It has a very bland taste. I would eat Casey over this place any day.

We come here regularly with our kid after dance class. They have a good selection of toppings (I really like the spicy sauce).

I finally tried this place because Brothers Inn was closed on the day that I was last in town. Not bad at all.

This place has been here a long time. The reason...the pizza is great! They have an excellent salad bar also. Pizza can be ordered how you want it...you pick: sauce amount of sauce type of crust and cheeses! Check out the game room.

Cute little pizza place in a cute little downtown area. Wide variety of pizza offerings and decent looking salad bar. Their pizza toppings are fairly typical standard offerings, but they do offer three types of cheese. We ordered a deep dish Big Cheese with onions, pineapple and diced tomatoes. It was quite good. Service was a tad slow paced.. and the prices a bit spendier than expected. But awesome for a locally owned non-chain place!

Pizza was okay. Old guy behind counter was rude taking our order. The rest the time we got to hear the employees bitch about their jobs. Lovely time. Maybe they should play music so we dont have to hear all the crap. Not what we expected.

Ordered the Deluxe Italian sandwich. When it arrived, there were three very thin slices of meat (two ham and one salami). It tasted more like a breadstick than a sandwich. Not impressed at all!

The wife loved the pizza. We got the Perfect "10" pizza. The crust was amazingly crispy and it made the pizza taste better then most pizza joints. Overall, a good place to eat.

Great local pizza place. Expanding its menu and trying new innovations. The pizza is good with your choice of cheese and sauce. Lots of sandwich choices and a decent salad bar. Even a video game room to amuse the kids.

We just went for the first time today. The service was good, the salad bar was very good, but the pizza was not good at all. The sauce tasted like it was out of a can and they put so much of it on the regular crust that it made the pizza very soggy. There were other options like spicy sauce, sandwiches and pasta, but unfortunately based on our first experience we will not be back to try them.

Love the salad bar...pricey.... my family enjoys the game room... b gr8 if they printed coupns occasionally ...

For only having a couple pizza places in town I guess you can complain. The pizza toppings went all the way to the edge. Which was nice. And the amount of toppings was rather surprising. But it didn't taste all that great. The topping aren't all that fresh. It was rather pricey as well.

Walked in wasn't brought with a smile. Went to order and was refused dine in cause it was a half hour to close. Was really looking forward to eating here. Sorry but lost a customer. I worked for dominos and if they found out I did that I would have been in trouble.

If I want to get a salad, and I mean a good salad with any topping I desire and at a reasonable price, Big Cheese Pizza is the place to go. They have lunch specials that are great. I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is great, they have a game room for kids, extra dinning area for meetings. Locally owned an operated by some very nice people. Oh yessss, the pizza is great also. They make it the way you want it. Did I mention the sandwiches?? OMG!!! Just go see for yourself, then you will understand what I am talking about. This has always been my favorite Pizza place. From the crust to the sauce (which isn't too sweet like Pizza Hut) to the melty cheeses--this pizza takes the cake for me. It's pricey, but completely delicious!
