"The Royal Pig is probably the best-tasting restaurant on Las Olas, because the food is cooked with passion and it shows. Their BLT, uses fried green tomatoes and pork belly instead of you know - everything that normally comes on a BLT. And thanks to the massive bar, the nightlife can always be found there." - Nick Rourke

"There is nothing worse than paying Las Olas Boulevard prices and leaving hungry. That is not a concern at the modern tavern hotspot, be it a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with sriracha mayo served on a griddle bun or its “king size” tavern soft pretzel. You may never see the bottom of one of its bottomless mimosas during its brunch." - Jesse Scott

"From Big Time Restaurant Group – which notably also operates Louie Bossi’s and Rocco’s Tacos on Las Olas Boulevard – Big City Tavern has one of the best bottomless mimosa rotations in the area. For $19, there will never be an empty glass, as for food, its breakfast pizza is massive, piled with sunny-side-up eggs, hollandaise sauce, and applewood bacon." - Jesse Scott

We stopped in while on vacation and were absolutely blown away—not just by the food and atmosphere, but by the incredible service from Ashley. She was upbeat, attentive, and genuinely made us feel like welcome guests rather than just customers. Ashley had great recommendations, perfect timing, and a kind energy that elevated our entire dining experience. Every detail was taken care of with professionalism and a personal touch. The food was delicious, the ambiance was spot-on, and the overall vibe made us wish we had a place like this back home. Big City Tavern truly left a lasting impression—and Ashley was a huge part of that. If you visit, do yourself a favor and ask for Ashley—you won’t be disappointed. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for making our vacation dinner so memorable!

My mom and I went to Big City Tavern on Father's Day. Although we decided to go on I'm sure one of their busier nights, we were not disappointed. We were seated within 5 minutes of us arriving, the server came over within the same amount of time and the food came out not too long after. We did wait awhile for our drink orders but the servers rectified this immediately. The main course portions were pretty big and the appetizers were also a good size. The price point was average for the neighborhood. The food was delicious and George (our server) was pleasant. I will definitely revisit in the near future. For starters, we had coconut shrimp. For dinner, my mom had the Grilled Chicken BLT and I had the Bolognese with Penne Pasta. We shared their wings with the Asian sauce on the side

Brunch at Big City Tavern was delicious this past weekend, and service by Jolie was simply amazing. I was craving a chicken sandwich, and their Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich hit the spot. The Andouille sausage skillet was also delicious.

We were a party of 6 and managed to get a table right away. Our waitress Liz was attentive, positive, and gave great suggestions. Three of us got the Blackend Mahi with potatoes and green beans and it was amazing!! We felt our food was delicious and worth every penny! Highly recommend this place and taking a look at the specials!

Visited BCT today with two friends for brunch. Easy to find, plenty of parking in the pay for parking lot behind the strip. The restaurant itself has a billiard room feel. Lots of leather lounge style booths, super cute tables and a massive bar. Hope, our server, was very attentive and kind. We ordered the cheese and salami board. The meats, cheeses and sauces were very good but the olives/giardinera was not. It tasted old. No flavor. No tang. Very bland. I also had a crab cake which was dynamite. Seasoned very well and the sauce that came with it was very nice. Finally I had the Cobb salad with sneak. Very good portions, fresh and my steak was cooked perfectly. Overall it was a pleasant experience. My only comments is to please have the servers check that they are properly cleaning the glassware and utensils as everything on our table was dirty upon arrival but Hope was wonderful and replaced everything for us very quickly and graciously.

Ehh food was decent. The shrimp were huge! The desert sucked! Cake was dry as the Sahara even with the ice cream and whipped cream on top. Drinks we pretty good. However my drink literally slid off the table by itself. The server to was like " let me guess, your drink slid off the table" so this is apparently an issue I had the drink smell all over my dress. The table next to me ten mins later, drink did the same thing and glass flew everywhere. The busser cleaned it up quickly though. The server was just ok. I felt very rushed by him. He wasn't mean or rude but I could tell he really didn't want me there. I didn't feel welcomed at all. I prob won't be back because of him.

Downtown Fort Lauderdale's Big City Tavern offers a lively atmosphere on Las Olas Boulevard, and our recent visit had its highs and lows. First, the undeniable highlight: our server was truly outstanding. He was not only attentive and informative throughout the meal but also refreshingly honest. Excellent service can elevate any dining experience, and in this regard, Big City Tavern absolutely delivered. However, where the experience fell short was with the highly anticipated Margherita pizza. Described on the menu with San Marzano sauce, fresh basil, and fresh mozzarella, what arrived was essentially a cheese pizza with a few scattered pieces of shredded basil. While the pizza itself was tasty, it was a far cry from a traditional Margherita, which typically features distinct slices of fresh mozzarella and a more prominent presence of basil. For pizza aficionados expecting that classic combination, this rendition will likely be disappointing and feels mislabeled. Overall, Big City Tavern offers a good atmosphere and, based on our experience, exceptional service. However, they should reassess their Margherita pizza offering to align it with diner expectations or adjust the menu description to be more accurate. We'd consider returning for the service and to try other menu items, but the "margherita" is one to skip if you're looking for the real deal.
