"Folks in Cascade flock to Big Daddy Cafe for their soul food menu with distinctly Caribbean influences. The takeout-only spot has great oxtails and rice, but show some love to their fried chicken, which is generously spiced. At $15, you'll score four huge whole wings with a few sides of your choice (most are skippable, but the safest bets are the black eyed peas and collard greens). Be prepared for a line of hungry people behind you—and some possible testiness behind the counter. Just know what you want when you step up." - jacinta howard

"Sometimes you have to work for what you want. That rings especially true in this tight, Caribbean-tinged take-out spot where long lines and fantastic curry chicken are always on the menu. Honestly, some of the slowness is patrons having a hard time looking at the daily options because of oddly angled windows into the kitchen. To alleviate delays at the cash register, have your “beef tips, rice, green beans, and black-eyed peas” order ready. Say it confidently, and you might get a half-smirk from the check-out clerk. Might." - demarco williams, jacinta howard

Big daddy kitchen is not right with that good tasting cooking, it's tasting like Big Mama in the back kitchen. This is a meal you wont ever forget if you are hungry and greedy. You will be back sooner than you think. Here is the chicken wing plate I ordered w/ the good delicious mac @ cheese and those great tasty collard green top w/that soft good tasting corn bread muffin. Hot sauce included. The bro got the veggie plate looking like the Thanksgiving dinner sides. Big Daddy is a "Order to Go" establishment. Eventhough limited seating is available. The front help greetings are warm and friendly. The place is small with wheel chair accessible but NO PUBLIC RESTROOM. Mask are encouraged but not required. All food are safety prepared by the kitchen staff and served up fresh and deliciously hot. The price is fair with the cost of demand. This place is safe with plenty of parking. This business will be a good investment it's has good healthy food and excellent cooks. Health score B

On a very surprise stop in Atlanta, I found this amazing treasure to eat a delicious meal that surpassed all expectations. Food is a comfort and a hope. Many places have a good dish or two but when the entirety of the meal is beyond perfect and makes you think omg how did you make this it goes to the sublime. I got the curry chicken and rice with two sides, choosing collard greens and yams. I also picked up a slice of lemon cake. Unbeknownst to me they also added a small container of beef tips - I want to thank the owner of the recipe and the chef as um yum yum. So good and happy. The curry chicken was fall apart on the bone completely flavorful Jamaican style with out that dryness that so many chicken dishes get. The yams I have no clue how they flavored them but were lightly spiced and not drowning in sweetness allowing one to truly enjoy each bite. Collard greens have no pork but a large smoke flavor from the smoked turkey they use to flavor the stock. Tender and perfect. You know when you used to go to your aunts house and they said go play and you’d come back and there’d be a slice of lemon cake with frosting that was tart and sweet full of lemon flavor and so soft you be thinking my aunt loves me so much. That’d be this lemon cake. Somebody’s aunt or nana made this amazing cake of summer memories. You can call in an order. They do catering. There’s parking. Go - eat, be patient, kind, and get an amazing piece of copper Norse style jewelry from the maker outside the restaurant. At this time (due to COVID there is no dine in) every one was doing take out. The staff are friendly and kind. The bathroom is clean and smells it! :)

This is my first time eating here, I’d heard so much about it, I decided to try it. Upon walking in I was greeted, which is a great thing, the lady in front was very pleasant . She had a smile with a nice demeanor and she’s very patient. They fried my chicken and fish in the same deep fryer with no separation, I have no allergies so I didn’t trip. The chicken wings still have feathers on them, they have no seasoning they’re very bland. The fish was what I really wanted and it also is bland with no seasoning, the Tatar sauce is old, the peach cobbler the crust is kind of chewy with a funny taste where it was microwaved to make it hot again and maybe cooked a lil too long. The corn bread muffins, beef tips w/rice are good along with the greens and Mac & cheese, I just need more rice to go with the beef tips. This is what saved me from being hungry and giving a 1.

Flew-in to ATL with some friends and wanted something good to eat, glad we came to big daddy's cafe. We ordered everything on the menu. Favorite were the ox tail, yams and greens. Everything was really good, wasn't a dish we didn't like. The staff were all super friendly, got a pic with them. Place is a grab and go, no indoor dining. One of the best southern comfort restaurants I've been to in all of the south.

I’ve heard about Big Daddy’s before but Saturday was my first visit and my last. The lady that works at the cash register with the 27 piece birds nest hairstyle had a very nasty and condescending attitude. I asked her if the collard greens and cabbage had meat in it. She said “the collard greens and dressing have meat.” I saw pinto beans on the menu and just to reassure myself I asked if the pinto beans had meat in it. She looked at me with this devilish stare and raised her voice and said “ONLY THE COLLARD GREENS AND DRESSING.” I could not believe that question could cause someone to be so nasty and so rude towards a new customer. I had to look at my sister to make sure she was talking to me. I ordered the oxtails and she still was being sarcastic and rude by saying “oh, you’re eating meat?” My sister had to tell her that I do not eat turkey. That’s why I asked. I didn’t understand why she continued to behave in this manner towards a new customer. This happens to me a lot because I look younger than I am. She was treating me like I was a child. Even if I were a child. Everyone deserves respect regardless of how old she thinks they are. I observed her with every customer after me and she did not behave in that manner. Needless to say. I will not be back. That lady is evil and a bully. If she doesn’t like to be asked questions. Then Big Daddy’s or any customer service job is not for her.

Yelp
So when you are in your big back moments. Don't be afraid to pull up to Big Daddy's on Cascade. In the strip plaza with Wells Fargo. Weekends are usually busy especially after church. Plenty of parking. But the space inside to order and wait can get a little crowded. They usually have a Tv going or music playing.. so that will keep you entertained while you wait for your food. Or as you listen to other people order and contemplate your choices . Lol. The food is always good. I usually get the beef tips with rice . And you get 2 more sides. They have daily specials. This visit I opted for the turkey wings .. ooh so good.. tender, falling off th bone . seasoned to perfection goodness. I got yams and cabbage. Corn muffin. Please know what you want.. the older lady can be impatient at times. ( They take call in orders also) Other than that.. good food. I'm always happy to be my big back fix at Big Daddy's.

Wendy W.

Yelp
Pretty good soul food I got the turkey wings and dressing, which was more than enough. They give you a lot of food and they have a lot of choices. Tons of soul, food, options, vegetables, meat and even desserts.

Dontrell H.

Yelp
I got The Beef Tips over a Bed of Rice with Collard Greens and Dressing for my side. The food was marvelous the box was actually heavy as it relates to it has some weight on it. . definitely going back

Yelp
Visiting from Houston, TX. Just did a random Google search and decided to try this place out. I was amazed at the amount of people that was there. The line was super long, all the way out the door, but that only tells me the food was going to be good. They did not disappoint. Customer service was on point. Everybody was in a good mood. Portion size was great And food was amazing. We will definitely visit again.

Shav L.

Yelp
This food is not great. The macaroni and cheese taste like it's kraft deluxe(without pepper or seasonings). The dressing is sweet so if you like sweet dressing you might like it. The best thing I had was my corn bread muffin the meal came with. Maybe I got the wrong entree but the sides I got was not food either. Macaroni and cheese is a soul food staple.

Marcell G.

Yelp
Ordered sides to include with our holiday dinner & they were EXCELLENT!!! This is a restaurant that will see us again when we travel back to the ATL!!!

Miko J.

Yelp
Food was amazing The portions were overloaded and the seasoning was like grandma's back in the day

Daniel M.

Yelp
Food is amazing Great customer servircss Yama are my favorite , stuffing is just out of this world

Lonnie B.

Yelp
Big Daddy's a small but busy restaurant only been here once the customer service was just ok I guess on Sunday you just get tired with all the customers coming at you but the was trying to be great I ordered beef short ribs over rice and got rib tips over rice it's not their fault because the sign say check you food before leaving and they open your food so you can see it I was talking and rushing so I messed up the food was good the decor is bad parking is crazy due to other businesses are in the plaza

Marie L.

Yelp
OMG! The food is so good! I see why so many people flocked this place. They offer a peek into the kitchen you can see what is in the menu and how they are cooking it. And you are served large portions for your money! No dine in options but we'll worth it!

Esmeralda G.

Yelp
Great Vibes, Food a YES!! Highly recommend. We are Texans and they made us feel so loved & welcome.

King G.

Yelp
I love this place with all my heart. It's a must have if you're in the Atlanta area.. the baked chicken is so flavorful, juicy, and tender. All the sides are delicious, but my absolute favorites has to be the dressing and the carrot soufflé (yes I said carrot you will not be disappointed). But the collard greens, Lima beans, mac and cheese are all great also.. I literally grab my plate with meat and the 2 sides and then get a veggie plate with 3 sides also. I also respect that they use smoked instead of pork. It's truly a gem. Heads up the older Jamaican lady who takes the order may seem like she being rude but I promise that is her everyday and she treats everyone the same lol. If you get past that and get your food next time you come you won't even care about the attitude. Every bite reminds me of Sunday dinner at my grandma house as a kid.

Emmett B.

Yelp
Excellent Soul Food! I loved those Oxtails! Everything I've had there is good actually. There's an older lady that works there that's kinda mean though.

Yelp
Such a nice experience. Upon walking in we were greeted by the cashier. You order your food up front before heading to the back and being seated (for dine-in). The food can be seen through the kitchen area window which helps when reading the menu and deciding what you want. The prices are moderate and go perfect with the portion sizes. Beware that they do run out of hot ticketed sides so it's possible what you desire may be out of stock. The food was good. Everything was done well and seasoned nicely. No over or under flavoring. The yams are very natural flavored so if you are looking for more of the candied effect, these aren't for you. The Macaroni and Cheese is very good. The corn muffin is absolutely amazing. And, if you are a dressing lover like me, make sure to get the gravy on it. It really makes the flavor pop. I will definitely be going here again. P. S. The Lemonade is AWESOME!!!!

Rosalyn L.

Yelp
I ordered the curried goat over rice with rutabagas and Mac and cheese. My cousin had oxtails, candied yams, and Mac and cheese. The curry goat was not spicy AT ALL! This is the first time I have ordered curry goat and it not be spicy. The food was delish and you get a lot for the price. I also like that rice is included and is not considered a side. Masks are required in the restaurant.

Cherice P.

Yelp
I normally don't do reviews but I had to. I called a hr before closing and someone picked up the phone, took some time to say hello, put me on hold before I could respond, put someone else on the phone who instantly started talking to me without greeting me. After redirecting the convo I was advised they weren't taking anymore phone orders. My sister went to pick up the food and told me it was a bit chaotic inside as the staff seemed overwhelmed n were fussing at each other. The food was not good at all. I got turkey legs, mac n cheese n greens. Mac n cheese was runny with an overcooked top layer. The greens, turkey leg n rice was bland. Turkey leg meat was a bit tough although it fell off the bones. To top it off we got a fresh hot burnt corn bread muffin! First and last time eating from this place!

Stassh B.

Yelp
The worst food and customer service I've seen in a long time. The kicker was the roaches I saw in the lobby area and around the food just pure nastiness I would never recommend this establishment to anyone in fact I think it needs to be closed!!!

Beth E.

Yelp
Since the pandemic, the Cascade Rd location is take-out only. The food is simple Southern homecooking. Everything is fresh, hot, and delicious. There's a window, peerng into the kitchen and seeing the prepared food on the hot table. My mouth waters while looking at the variety of food, and my eyes get bigger than my stomach. I hope you find my review helpful. Enjoy!

Lakeisha C.

Yelp
I had turkey wings and dressing with collard greens, and yams. I enjoyed every portion of my food. I will eat here again. No photos I was too hungry

Ebonie Q.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place and give it a five star review. My boyfriend and i were craving turkey wings and southern cooked food so i suggested Big Daddys. We had really high expectations for Big Daddys .This location was really easy to find off Old National. The atmosphere was very friendly and inviting as a matter of fact we were greeted upon entrance. There was a really long line which was fine we were more than willing to wait. All of the food was already cooked and ready to be served as ordered. Everything looked and smelled really delicious. Unfortunately once we got our food we noticed right away that everything was extremely salty. My boyfriend and I don't eat a lot of salt but we do understand soul / southern food is prepared with salt ... this was over kill. I ordered baked turkey wings , rice , collard greens and yams. My boyfriend Order jerk turkey wings, collard greens, and rice casserole. The jerk turkey wings were very tasty however the baked turkey wings were flavorless / dry and there was no gravy left. Both turkey wings tasted like they had been reheated/overcooked.This was really disappointing since we drove an hour away for the turkey wings. It is important to add that they were closing in 30 minutes so that may have been the reason. Lastly the lemonade... It was so sweet that I could have added it to a gallon of water and it could've been just fine. Pro : Clean, friendly staff, variety of meats and side orders, plenty of deserts, good prices. Cons: Salty, overcooked, *** Disclaimer: We've tried Big Daddys before but it was not this location nor was it affiliated with this location. Our expectations may have been too high coming here. I will give this location another try. They had several other items that looked very delicious. Next time I will come right around lunch or the beginning of dinner instead of at the end of the night.

Tamara M.

Yelp
Worse soul food i ever ate . Greens were bland like i was eating a raw collard green. Broccoli rice casserole Terrible . They don't own no seasoning . The baked chicken is barf material. It was trash im not even being hard on them. I was like damn nothing good on this plate. I won't ever be back !

Amanda W.

Yelp
Large portions!!!!! Definitely enough for lunch and dinner. I had the curry goat, which never disappoints. My Husband had the big daddy combo, and devoured the plate without coming up for air. There is a funny small at this establishment but I'm almost certain that's the mixture of oxtails, goat and greens. There are homeless men lingering outside, but I've never seen them cause trouble or beg. If you like a full belly of good seasoned foods, you'll love this spot. Oh and the corn muffin is pure love!!!!!!!!

Ahshanti S.

Yelp
Stopped by here since the beautiful was closed. I'd heard about big daddy's but never tried to. I ordered baked chicken, field pea, Mac n cheese and rice. The chicken didn't have flavor. The peas didn't have flavor. The Mac n cheese was sweet for some reason. Rice wasn't good either. I probably won't be bAck. I thought it was African American soul food but it appears to be owned or ran by Jamaicans. I don't care for foreign soul food (made by Chinese, Jamaicans, Mexicans, etc) because it never tastes right. However you may find joy if you like the culture's pallet

Yelp
***BIG DADDY HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!**** So, while doing my civic duty and working the 2017 Atlanta Mayoral campaign, I decided to walk over from headquarters and get a bite. Honestly couldn't recall if I'd ever eaten here way back in the day or not. Well. If I did ever eat here before, I see why I don't recall it. This was AWFUL. I got the lunch special, tilapia and two sides. Fish had no flavor, green beans were decent- obviously canned, and omg the broccoli rice casserole (wait lemme snap a picture of it) tastes like something out of a dry mix envelope. I asked for extra tartar sauce. I thought something was odd when the nice bus person/server brought me "packets". The kind you get at the Chinese spot. As I'm sitting, eating, wondering how they EVER competed with The Beautiful (at one time the rivalry was bitter!), I inquire about the new extension Big Daddy's store that is opening up near the new Mercedes Benz Falcon's stadium. The one that thinks it can hold a match to Busy Bee Cafe (right up the block from the new Big Daddy's) which we ALL know is impossible to do- hahaha! I discover that THIS cafe thing has been SOLD! BIG DADDY HAS LEFT THE BUILDING! Do Not Be Deceived! It all "looks" the same, but it is NOT, and the food is just miserable. The staff are WONDERFUL! The order taker and cashier is beautifully pleasant, even under pressure. Very, very nice. The buslady/server in the dining area is charming. She ain't doin' too much servin'- no water refills, no check in for more tartar sauce or anything, you're on your own until she decides to come back. Still. Sweet lady. The one star are is for THEM. Won't be back here. I would've been happier with Church's chicken up the street. Just say "No".

Terry M.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would-- the food was awful. We ordered the oxtails & rice w/cabbage & mac & cheese along w/the beef tips & rice w/greens & yams. The mac & greens were the worst. The oxtails were tough & the beef tips were dry & smothered in sauce. We took a few bites & threw the food out-- $40+ down the drain...

Tan H.

Yelp
I Ordered Turkey wings with dressing, yellow rice, and broccoli cheese casserole. My partner ordered veggie plate with sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and banana pudding. The wait is rather long on a Sunday afternoon. The food is on a food table where you are served while you look at it. Restaurant could definitely use some renovations/upgrades. Food was Good.

Latia M.

Yelp
The food is always great best soul food I've had in Atlanta Ga! If you go before they close sometimes the collard greens are not that good but just don't go before they close! Everything else is good oh and I don't like the cakes they have don't get those just the food!

Lita T.

Yelp
This was some bs. We paid 60 dollars for two meals, we got the oxtails and rice w greens and macaroni, and friend chicken wings and macaroni + rice. First off the oxtails were CHEWWWWYYYY and the greens were flavorless. The fried chicken was good but they had zero condiments to go with them. The lemonade was sweet af but it was good, and the cornbread was cold. Basically 60 dollars wasted, save y'all's money!

Valorie W.

Yelp
I used to eat here pretty often but slacked off recently. My mom wanted some good soul food today so we decided to try Big Daddy's again. I was disappointed. First I ordered all white meat chicken for my mom. It was supposed to be a breast and a wing. As I was waiting for my food, I was called to the counter and told that they didn't have any more breasts and they only had wings left. So, I had to settle for wings even though my mom didn't want all wings. And I got no apology for it. It was just matter of fact. I could of at least been offered a styrofoam cup full of sweet tea for having to settle for a food item that I didn't really want but anyway... I ordered a veggie plate for me: broccoli, rice, and cheese casserole, lim beans, and rutabagas. The broccoli, rice, and cheese casserole was inedible. It was sticky and dry and had very, very little broccoli in it. The rice was orangish; definitely not like I am used to. The rutabagas didn't taste fresh and they were darkly colored. Rutabagas are my favorite vegetable so I eat them a lot and know how they should look and taste. What I had today wasn't it. The limas were okay but they tasted like they were straight out of a can. I doctored them up with salt and pepper and managed to eat them. So, all in all, I paid nearly $6 for a handful of lima beans and a corn muffin...which was very good, by the way. I probably won't be going back again anytime soon. My mom did like her chicken though. I was pleased with that.

Kelen E.

Yelp
Just had the beef tips and rice with collards and okra. The last time I had meatloaf. Although it is edible, there is no real flavor. It's damn near bland. The greens and okra are over cooked and flavorless as well. This is my last time eating here. Plus I'm tired of the lil mean lady. Do better. Put some soul in it. I don't even want to finish this

Dawn A.

Yelp
The food was not good at all. The peach cobbler was awful i could not eat it. I ordered the rice and broccoli which had a funny taste. The lemonade was extremely sweet. We had to add water to it. The icing on the cake was not good, it was very sweet as well. I do not recommend this place at all.

Kesha T.

Yelp
A relative recommended this shop for some good soul food, she did not disappoint me. I will say that it's not "knock your socks off" good but it is satisfying. The atmosphere is cozy, with a small dining area with a homey diner feel. The service was good. We were not aware that we had to order first before being seated so that would be something that they should get some signage on. The fish was good, the breading was the perfect thickness. The greens and mac & cheese are seasoned well, but the wings were blah. I would recommend this location. If I'm back in the are I'd try other items....I'm curious to try the sweet potatoes.

Shantelle R.

Yelp
Today was my first time trying this place. I'm currently eating bbq chicken, macaroni and candied yams and I'm not impressed. This is a place you go to when you're craving soul food but either don't feel like cooking or can't get to your favorite place. It's not amazing but it'll do. The only seasoning used in their dishes is salt.. and they make sure to put some salt. This "soul food" isnt made with love and you know what I mean lol

Andrea T.

Yelp
Nestled between a lawnmower repair shop and a dance studio is one of Atlanta's soul food havens. I've been here numerous times over the years but my last visit was unintended. The line at the soul food restaurant on the next block zigzagged across the front and stretched almost out the door. I wasn't up for it but had a taste for soul food...so we made the hop, skip and jump over to Big Daddy's. There were only a few customers at the front counter waiting to place orders. As they took seats on the park bench to wait for their food no doubt they took in the ambiance around them. Portraits of Muhammad Ali, President Obama, Malcolm X and others lined one wall. We opted to eat-in so after placing our orders we travelled down a narrow hall to their booth seating. A server brought our food out from the kitchen. On this visit I ordered the Brown Stew Chicken with Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese. My guy got Oxtails, Candied Yams and Collard Greens. The portions were large (almost spilling off the plate) and both meals came with a cornbread muffin. The chicken was tender, the collard greens were tangy, the cornbread was fluffy...everything was pretty good. The one exception was the macaroni which was shockingly bad. Instead of being moist and cheesy, it tasted like they used more sour cream than the recipe called for. Waaaay too sour. Thankfully the server was nice enough to replace it with a side of Candied Yams. Admittedly, Big Daddy's isn't my favorite soul food spot in town but the portions are filling and the food is flavorful. That's about all you could ask on a soul food Sunday.

Toni V M.

Yelp
Now, everyone has "their" soul food spot--Big Daddy's is mine. And DON'T get it confused with the other Big Daddy's soul food places (Campbellton, Old National, Northside once the stadium opens), they're not the same. Here's what I order: 2pc fried tilapia, greens, candied yams and it comes with a buttery sweet corn muffin. I BEGGED Miss Harriet (the cook) to tell me how she gets her sweet potatoes SO sweet without that goopy brown sauce that most of us are familiar with. I haven't mastered her version, but thankfully I don't have to. It's just good food, a TON of sides and my fish is fried to order. If there's a line, just make yourself at home and talk to folks as you eye your choices on the other side of the glass and contemplate if you're going to get a hunk of cake or a container of banana pudding (I say both, and share it with someone you care about)!

D M.

Yelp
Horrible. I tried to give them another chance and the food was worse then my last review. Meatloaf was crumbly with some discount Barbecue sauce and it tasted awful..the broccoli casserole tasted extremely weird almost sour, and the mash potatoes were instant and salty as ever. I tried to give them another chance but I'm done. I literally threw it in the trash. I can't remember the last time I had food this bad. I will not be returning ever.

Jasmine D.

Yelp
4 stars because my food was cold but it was so good I ate it anyways with no complaints. I haven't been to big daddy's in years but the food taste just as good as I remember minus the temperature. Next time I'll just grab my food togo that way I can heat it at home. Lol

Briana S.

Yelp
A weekly fav or go to when you don't have time or energy to cook. There is usually a line which is expected so go early! My favorite entrees are their oxtails, baked and fried chicken, turkey wings, and turkey with dressing. Nice variety of sides such as Mac and cheese, cabbage, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and squash to name a few. Desserts are delectable! Service is usually quick and worth the time and $$.

Amber M.

Yelp
THIS PLACE GETS 5 STARS!!! OMg do you know how hard it is to find places that sale BEEF BBQ ribs? Very hard, the line was very long & its so cramp inside. The cashier is nice, she remember old time favorites and also make new comers feel welcome. I love when a place say check your food before leaving, that lets me know the company do care & is not about money. The dressing could be better but everything else was perfect. I hope they expand or make the place bigger.

Yelp

Yelp
Very popular Cascade soul food restaurant. Oxtail gravy was thinner than what I'm used to. Rice was parboiled. Mac and cheese resemblant of a recipe with gvt cheese...greens also had a hint of sugar. Have to return for more!!!

Yelp
Ive been going here for years, and just went recently and was disappointed. I hate that I didnt YELP this place before, but after spending $33 to feed my family of three and neither of us at our entire meal, it just saddens me, beacuse I've had some really great meals here. I'll give them a 3 star just based on past visits, but after this last visit, Im sure we were given old food. I ordered the ox tails and had more juice than anything and I could tell the dressing was old and had been re-heated. My son got the rib tips and didnt eat 1/10th of the meal...and my daughter who hasnt met a meat loaf that she didnt like, didnt enjoy her meal either. As I said, maybe we just went in on a bad day because if I had reviewed this place before they would have surely gotten a 4 star. I should have gotten the fried chicken, becuase its one of the best I've had and I initally said thats what I was going to get, but went with the ox tails instead. You can take your food to go and do that by ordering at the front cash register. If you want to eat in, go directly to the back and the wait staff will take your order. The lady that takes the "to-go" orders is the sweetest person you can know in this place...she is always full of compliments and is so patient with those that just cant make up their minds. If you do go...be sure to get dessert....cause those cakes are MOIST!!! So disappointed that it wasnt tasty

Yelp
Darned good Southern food /soul food/home cooking in a very unique, vintage shopping area which is undergoing a rennaisance in Southwest Atlanta . I ate there recently and had their meatloaf which was quite tasty. Great collards and sweet tea like syrup, as per normal. I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area. The food is not low-calorie but that's just how this type of food. Plan for it in your diet. Just don't eat the next day. P. S. I cannot tell a lie:the macaroni and cheese was not the best I've ever had. In fact, it flat out needs work. But everything else was good. Come on, Big Daddy: up your macaroni and cheese game. You can do it ! I know you can!

Yelp
Consistently great food. My partner and I eat here a few times out of the month. Big Daddy's is definitely my favorite Soul Food takeout in Atlanta and worth the 20 minute drive each way from my part of town for this food. A nice Jamaican family ran business. I have tried and loved there: *Fried Chicken *Ox tails and rice *Turkey Wings *Mac and Cheese *Carrot Souffle *Collard Greens *Sweet Potatos *Dressing and gravy *Sweet Corn *Cornbread (BEST CORNBREAD EVER!) *Carrot and Red Velvet Cake This establishment does not cook or sell pork products. Big Daddy's prices are decent I never spent over $20 for both me and my partner. If you like soul food I GUARANTEE YOU that you will LOVE Big Daddy's Cafe on Cascade Rd.

Yelp
First and foremost, the customer service was top notch!! Good customer service can be difficult to come by, but not at Big Daddy's!! The staff were so pleasant, friendly, and welcoming! Now, for the food... It's certainly some of the best I've had since moving to Georgia!! My family ordered the ribs, baked chicken, tilapia, and turkey wings! The sides wr tried were candied yams, mac and cheese, collard greens and cabbage. EVERYTHING was so tasty and satisfying! You'll definitely take food home! The portion sizes are very generous! No lie, you will not regret trying this place! It may not be your granmama's cookin', but it most definitely would be a close second!! Don't sleep on Big Daddy's, it is a must-try!

Yelp
I loved the food and can't wait to go back. I ordered turkey wings , over rice with Mac and cheese and sweet potato with a lemonade for the drink. I spent under $10.00 and the service was fast and friendly. God bless

Yelp
As soon as i walked in the line was to the back and growing back out the front. The best part is it took less then ten minutes to order. Its a buffet style but they load up your plate. I asked for the whiting and fried okra and they made it fresh. The other meats n fish were on the buffet line. I definitely plan on going back!

Yelp
That food was awful! I got the beef ribs with black eye peas and sweet collards and my husband got the Turkey Wings with rice and pinto beans all the food was bland with no flavor and as crowded as it was you would have thought the food would have been good. The banana pudding had black bananas, no whip cream or banana pudding just bananas and vanilla wafers that was old. I will not eat there again when visiting Atlanta again.
