We hit BDRQ last Friday night at Elm Creek Brewing. Hands down some of the best bbq in the Twin Cities, and it will stand up well anywhere. The pork was very well done - lots of smoke, well shredded, and firm without being dry. The mustard bbq sauce was interesting. I am not a fan of mustard sauce - it's often overly 'mustardy', and/or too sweet. BDRQ's version strikes a nice balance, with both vinegar and mustard showing through without being overpowering. Did not try the brisket, but judging by the pace it was disappearing from plates at the next table, I expect it to be awesome.
Since we were late getting there, I didn't get a chance to go chat about prep and cooking technique, but I'll rectify that in the future.
I'm going to ding them ever so slightly (and with my tongue firmly in cheek) for having the nerve to out of coleslaw like, 10min before closing, so I didn't get to try it:) Judging by the great potato salad, I'm sure it's wonderful as well. I'll try it next time --and there definitely will be a 'next time'!
Highly recommended.
