Big Dave's Cheesesteaks

Ever since my favorite cheesesteak spot downtown closed (RIP Chi-Phi), I’ve been longing for a worthy replacement. While running errands in SODO yesterday, I searched for new places nearby and found Big Dave’s. I added it to my route, hopeful, but not expecting much. Normally, I’m drawn to sandwich shops with a little grit and history on the walls, but this one was clean and modern. An employee greeted me warmly and took my order, a classic cheesesteak with onions and provolone. I hadn’t planned on getting the combo, but their friendliness sealed the deal. While waiting, I caught myself putting my AirPods away because they were playing the kind of hip-hop I grew up on. When my food came out, it smelled incredible and tasted even better. The cheesesteak had layers of flavor that made each bite better than the last. The fries were seasoned perfectly (maybe a little too perfectly for my wife’s taste), and I cleaned my tray with zero regrets. I finished my meal, refilled my drink, and thanked the staff on my way out. Big Dave’s officially earned a spot on my list of go-to lunch stops and Magic pregame meals.

Overall best Cheesesteak I've had in Orlando. Generous meat portion. Fries are crispy and seasoned well. The organic Strawberry Dragon fruit drink was amazing. Overall great experience and will be going to this and the other location on a more regular basis ! Hand washing station is also really cool !

First time here. This place didn't disappoint. I tried Truffle shuffle, so juicy, so good. Cheessteak fries you can choose between beef or chicken. Chicken is a must. My wife got the regular beef steak with all the fixin. I loved my food so much had to take a another order to go. Definitely go check them out.

Big Dave's delivered on a great cheesesteak! I take my cheesesteaks seriously and they have def cracked my rotation for best spots in town. The crinkle cut fries were a great compliment, right amount of seasoning. Looking forward to my next visit.

The Best Cheesesteak we had. My husband loves Philly steaks and have tried a lot from different places and he told me this is the best so far. He bought me and our daughter today, 08/11/25 and I am impressed and yeah it really is bomb! It’s delicious and so satisfying! Different from other philly steaks I’ve tasted in Florida. I also love their selection of juices which is not too sweet! The place is clean and customer service is excellent!

Decided to try Big Dave’s out and i couldn’t have been more pleased. Walking in you get greeted with smiles Ary M was great! She made sure the food was good and brought it to my table. Banana Pudding? FIRE! Definitely will visit again!

The sandwich was delicious and fresh they made it fresh i watched them. The employees were very kind and explained everything they had like pretzels, French fries with cheese and meat. There Philly steak sandwiches u can add different items as well i will return when im in the area.

Everything was delicious! Great flavor! Even the Tractor ready and juices were yummy. Music was decently loud, vibe was fun (club like even) just made talking a hair challenging. The one thing I will say.. the price. $42 for 2 meals is PRICEY! $4 for a regular drink is a bit ridiculous.

The food was delicious -- full of flavor, juicy, and satisfying. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-kept, which I always appreciate. The atmosphere was laid-back but welcoming, and the staff showed great hospitality -- friendly, and efficient.

I heard several people raving about Big Dave's so I decided to try the SoDo location. I've had Dave's before but at the Kia center at one of the stands and it did not impress me at all. When you walk into the SoDo location you immediately walk straight into the counter. The worker who took my order was extremely nice and helpful. The dining room is really small with limited seating. It was really busy when I got there but by the time I got my food a table opened up. I ordered 2 classic Dave subs, fries, chicken and cheesesteak egg rolls. I got the smallest sub and it was stuffed with cheesesteak. The sub was just ok to me, when eating it all I mainly could taste was the toppings. I felt like it was lacking flavor in the actual steak. The egg rolls tasted great and the sauce it came with was good as well. The fries just tasted like regular fries. If I do return I'll probably just get the egg rolls and fries.

The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is very clean and even has an automatic hand washer. I have never seen one before, but it was perfect because this cheesesteak can get a little messy. The good ones usually are. The fries were perfectly crispy and dusted with their seasoning. I will definitely be back!

Being a huge lover of Philly Cheesesteaks, I had been wanting to try this spot. Many of my friends who know how much I love them and have actually tried my Phillies I make at home, told to come try this place as well. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I love the concept and the ambiance. Service was fairly quick as well. I just felt it was a bit too greasy for my liking and I feel the meat lacked a little bit of flavor. The bread also had a bit of a density to it, typically the bread gets either toasted or put on the griddle to soften and warm it up a bit. My wife and I may come back to try the Philly fries and hopefully this was a one time not so good experience.

Big Dave's Cheesesteak 2nd Orlando location has officially opened in SODO & it's GOOD! The service was quick , it took about 15 mins to get my order . I did order to go . The ambiance was chill , they have seating to eat in and a TV to watch while you eat . The customer service was great and the young lady at the register was very helpful . If you love cheesesteaks, this is a must try! 3 meat options ( beef, chicken or salmon ) with 3 sub size options. You can make it a meal with fries and drink as well. Tried the regular Philly and the chicken cheesesteak = 10/10 for sure! Side of crinkle fries and a drink were supper filling. Great selections and they have a sitting area inside . Definitely worth coming to Sodo for sure ! Service was amazing

We walked by this place walking towards Target and decided to stop in. The lady in the front was very welcoming and explained their menu to me very well. I decided to go with something simple just a basic beef cheesesteak with American cheese onions. I went with the classic size which is 9 inch, which was perfect for me. I definitely will come back again.

The restaurant is located in a storefront. It seems relatively new. The inside was clean and looked freshly painted. The order counter was steps from the entrance. The employees at the counter greeted customers promptly when they entered. They were very hospitable. I chose the Regular (9") Chicken Philly Big Dave's Way (toppings and 3 types of cheese). The sandwich was piping hot when it came out. It had a very generous portion of chicken. And the cheese.... cheese overload and I loved it. I'm not a cheesesteak connoisseur so take the next comment with a grain of salt. The sandwich was good but it didn't have the special "something". I also don't know what the going rate for a 9" cheesesteak is. This one seemed to be on the pricey side. Dining room tip. If you're going to use the high tops in the back the seating is tight. You may need to stand. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. I'd go back.

I have been following Dave's Cheesesteaks since his humble beginnings at the gas station in Georgia. I reside in California and was visiting Orlando when I realized there is a location in the downtown area of Orlando. Service was superb and friendly! Food was super yummy and everything I thought it would be!! Thankful and grateful I was able to finally try it!!!

The only reason that I give it a 2 is because, on Monday moy I got the chicken sausage sandwich combo. It was nasty all it took was one bite for me, but the potatoes were good. The lady asked me if it was ok, she must have already known that I wasn't going to like it. I said no I don't, and all she could say is I'm sorry. She didn't ask well can I get you something else for the trouble, just said sorry. Yeah I'm sorry too, sorry that I bit into that sandwich in the trash it went. I've had several chicken sausage sandwiches, but this by far was the worst. Sorry Dave. I would have like to been offered another option especially since she did ask if I like it or not.

I enjoyed my visit to Big Dave's Cheesesteaks. Everyone was very welcoming with their "Welcome in" greeting. Arely, the server, was very helpful with the menu and making sure I had everything I needed during my visit. She introduced me to the machine hand washer. It was pretty cool. I ordered the Big Dave's original Cheesesteak, fries and drink. The Cheesesteak was perfect. It wasn't too oily. The wrapping paper helped hold the Cheesesteak together in the wrapper and prevented it from being messy. The fries were nice and hot. You can never go wrong with Crinkle Cut fries. The Farmers Punch is addictive. I had to refill my cup at least 2 times before leaving. With the music playing, it's definitely a vibe.

Walk up to the counter to order. They call you when your order is ready. Try to find a place to sit. 3 four tops and 3 hi tops squeezed together. No breathing room so I suggest you get your order to go although then it won't be as delicious and delicious it was. Amaroso rolls and cheez whiz and all the right stuff. Go for the cheesesteaks not the ambiance.

Finally got around to Big Dave's and it's FANTASTIC! Clean and well lit dining room with a family friendly atmosphere. The cheesesteak was seasoned to perfection! The fries were hot and crispy. The staff was polite and attentive. Can't wait to go back!

The cheesesteak was really although a little greasy and messy but overall good my only complaint was the price for a meal ended up being 25.12

The cheesesteak was perfect! BUT the service sucked. Didn't get greeted when i can in, i stood at the counter a good 4 min before being knowledge and the wait was much longer than normal. I believe the guy's name was Steve.

As I waited for my order to be made, a young lady by the name of Gigi approached me and said they accidentally made the wrong pretzel, but not to worry. She then offered me a free soda, free, french fries and free cinnamon pretzel which they made at first, and they gave me the order that I originally ordered. She said, that's the least she can do for my inconvenience. The food was delicious and I highly recommend this place for their hospitality and excellent food. I HOPE YOUR MANAGER READ'S THIS REVIEW BECAUSE YOU ARE AN AMAZING EMPLOYEE. It wasn't about what was given free. It was the way GiGi made me feel as a client.. definitely coming back to eat

What a kind staff and good food. My friends I ordered the classic cheesesteak sandwich, chicken & beef egg roll, and cheesesteak fries. Everything was great and they seemed glad to serve us. Music isn't too loud and it's nice and bright. Located in a great spot. Parking isn't always the funnest, but that isn't on them! Will be returning.

So Delicious! This place is exactly what I expect when I'm craving cheesesteak. The meat is well seasoned, the toppings are well proportioned and the serving size is plenty! I've only done to go orders so I can't speak to the customer service quality but my order is always ready quickly so that's a plus.

Thank you Big Dave's Cheesesteaks Orlando for a yummy lunch!! The sweet pumpkin sauce goes great with the salty goodness of the pretzel. BUT the real winner is the specially inspired Big Dave's salad. Love the fresh wontons and what is that dressing (so good). You guys ROCK!!

This place is small and chaotic. Not many tables and a lot of people getting to go order and a small waiting area. You literally have to fight to try and fill your drink and grab straws etc because of people waiting for to go orders. Also the fountain drink wouldn't work so I had to ask an employee for help and someone had left the key in it making it inoperable. The sub was tasty but salty. Very messy and that's not necessarily a bad thing but it just wasn't that great. I can't say I would never go back but I won't be running back. The fries were hot and fresh but not the high quality crinkles I like, more like the cheaper brand that more restaurants seem to be using lately. Staff was attentive and trying their best.

The Cheesesteak is actually pretty good. Prices are INSANTIY. $14 for a 6 inches. Not to be lewd, but 6 inches is not a lot in the world of sandwiches. I would honestly be only satisified with that on a full 12 inches. So I did with the UberEats BoGo pick up. Not a fancy roll, great meat, a bit of onion, loaded with what seems like Cooper Sharp or something comparable. However, think of this, Angelo's in Philly charges $16.50 for a full on huge 14+ inch cheesesteak. House made bread. In a vastly expensive city. Considered the greatest cheesesteak in the world.

We FINALLY have an Amazing Philly. Philly was Amazing, loaded with Cheese and Loaded with Meat. Service was Super that's nice to have since service now days is so bad. Place was super clean. All around amazing and highly recommended. Im so freaking happy we finally got a place with an amazing Philly.

The food was great they used actual steak and the buns held the contents of the sandwich perfectly. The taste was great best tasting philly I've ever had. The service was great friendly and welcoming thanks to Arely & rod made a mean sandwich overall 5/5 definitely going back

This is definitely one of the better cheesesteak joints that I have tried in Orlando thus far, although it is a bit on the pricey side, you get what you pay for. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly I have not had a bad experience yet. They stuff the cheesesteaks with a healthy portion of beef and one of the most important factors when making any Philly cheesesteak is, they make sure the cheese is thoroughly mixed in with the steak. Being everybody uses their hands to eat a cheesesteak, they have this cool hand cleaning machine in the front of the restaurant to entice patrons to be more sanitary and clean their hands before they eat.

guy cooking should be fired. I placed an order on the actual Dave website for pickup. When I arrived and gave my name they said someone already picked it up. I said that was impossible because I placed it for pickup myself. The guy cooking starts screaming out loud that it is a scam and I had a friend pickup and he has seen this before when he did DoorDash. I showed the lady my order # and that I placed it on their actual website. Not from a 3rd party app. While I waited for my food to be cooked again the guy cooking kept screaming that it's a scam and I shouldn't get the food. He was also screaming that I should call DoorDash to get a refund. Again I placed the order on their actual website. Super uncomfortable and I will never order from this place again. The cook should be let go. His own fellow employees seemed annoyed by him.

Kelly and Ari have great customer service and the food came out in no time. Best cheesesteak in Orlando. I almost don't even want to put in a review so I can keep this spot to myself!

The food was amazing especially the salmon egg roll. Porsha has excellent customer service . Her service is above par go see her she is the best!

My family and I visited today our food was delicious. I ordered the beef cheesesteak classic with everything on it. It was chef's kiss. My husband got the beef cheesesteak classic but only onion and peppers. We ordered a beef egg roll and a salmon egg roll. We did order banana pudding too. Which I am too full to try lol. Everything is so good!! You must try we will be back.

I'm visiting from Illinois for a few days and I was ordering Doordash and came across this place. I'm so happy that I did. I've ordered twice in 3 days. It's so good! I had the regular beef, first with onions and the second time without and cheese fries both times. I should have tried the chicken, so I may be back before I leave. I wish we had a place like this near me in Illinois.

I hadn't look at my sub yet to see I had no mushrooms or bell peppers on my sub as requested until I heard the worker there bringing a new sub to the guys sitting behind me. I stopped her with a rude look, what you need. what do I need to bring you. at this point why would I want to wait for them to be grilled and brought to me and my sub cold. never apologized. I came despite the bad reviews about food and customer service. sub falling apart. I spent $70+ for two people. they will be fine without my money. never going back

The cheesesteak is good but the meat has no sauce even when you squeeze it. Plus the prices are awful, Jersey Mike clears tbh. They need to add a buffalo chicken cheesesteak to their menu

Saw the grand opening last month on TikTok. Stopped by on 5/23 for lunch. The location is convenient in SoDo. Nice clean entrance and friendly welcome from all the staff. The price was higher than I expected but the quality of the food made it well worth it. After a recent visit to Philadelphia, the cheesesteak is on spot for the taste. I'll definitely visit again. Congratulations to the owners and I wish them all the best.

worst cheese steak ever over priced slow service . not worth it not enough seating at Oviedo location . probably won't last long
