Big Dog Station

We got a few beverages and ordered 15 medium wings with blue cheese and ranch along with Loaded Chili Cheese Tots. Also ordered the Mahi Sandwich and Cheeseburger. Great food and great prices. Melissa at the bar was sweet.

Random stop and Not disappointed!! Melissa was our Bartender and she is awesome!! Food and the drinks were amazing!! We will definitely come back!

I was here tonight where a lady didn't like her food. I watched the owner and bartender try to resolve the issue immediately for her, with professionalism and pose. The food I had was incredible, not sure what she had. But all I know is, if I was them, I wouldn't have maintained my composure for nearly as long. It was my first time here, and definitely seemed like a stray crazy person on Christmas evening. Pricing is fair and low, ambiance is very family oriented, like a strong community. Fantastic northern bar. A gem for the south Florida community.

I decided to bring my friends here. Because I had had a good experience at one point. Both me and both of my friends had just gotten off work and had had no alcohol prior to coming into the establishment. After having three rounds of drinks, the bartender decided to complain that we were all slurring our words when we came through the door that it was a good thing they had a DD. And that my friend was way too loud. That being said we were sitting outside and listening to loud music that was playing so yes, we were being a little loud and it's a bar environment so we were being loud. I will never go here again. I can't believe how rude they were to my friends I was trying to show them a good time and now all that's happening is being upset because we got blamed for slurring when we hadn't even had anything to drink. There was a rude girl sitting at the bar. Who got upset when we tried to tell them the ingredients of a drink. And from then on out, they were just rude to us. this is why businesses are starting to decline because of customer service like this.

We were in the neighborhood so we deiced to stop into Big Dog. It wasn't our first time. We play rounds of disc golf nearby and months ago discovered this was a pretty good AM bar. Every time we walk in around 11ish in the morning. There is always a good handful of people that have beaten us to the first libation of the day. It's a well lit friendly spot, not to mention the bartender is always the same friendly fella too. The first time we were there I asked if they had cream to be able to make a white Russian, and he responded, "of course!". Many spots don't so I'm always quick to ask first. We grabbed our drinks this day and headed outside. Along side the place is an outdoor area that's perfect. It's near the street but has its own chill area that's got a small breeze too. Big Dog is a simple bar, but it's got good energy. I'm sure after the next round we play, we will back again.

A picture of this place would definitely appear in the dictionary under "dive bars". From the outside, you might question whether you should go inside or not. It is small and a bit rundown and crowded, but it has its own charm. And lots of locals who frequent often. We sat at the bar inside, but there's also an outside patio under a tented area connected to the building. Around the perimeter of the room are a dart board, a pinball machine, an ATM machine, and some other games. They also sell lottery tickets. We got there between lunch shifts, so the bartender gave us our drinks but didn't ring them or our lunch order up. When the gal who replaced him arrived, she put in our food order. As we looked over the menu one of the guys at the bar told us they had a good Taco Tuesday special. It wasn't written anywhere, but the regulars knew. We wound up ordering this. The taco lunch consisted of 3 tacos with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and onions, and shredded cheese over ground beef (we were told that was the best choice) . The taco shells were soft. On the side were two small cups -- one with sour cream and one with a non-spicy salsa. There was a large bottle of Tabasco on the bar if you wanted to add a little kick. And both my husband and I did use the Tabasco -- although I just added a few drops. The tacos cost $10 for the order of 3 and were surprisingly very good. We both liked them. The staff and other patrons were friendly. And we had a good lunch. If you like dive bars (as I do), add this one to your list to try.

Big Dog has great burgers and Tacos too! Discovered this vintage watering hole on my wife's Bookmarked places. A funky interior and good service inside and food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Good lunch stop!

Visited with a friend after playing disc golf on a Saturday morning. When my friend suggested grabbing a few drinks at 11 AM, i was skeptical. The place is small but the service was friendly and efficient. Drinks were affordable and they had a front outside area that was perfect for us to have our drinks and enjoy the sunny yet cool morning temperatures. I will come back and try the food next time. Good place to grab some drinks with friends.

This place has been around for decades. It's always a decent crowd. Which means good music as well. We eat a little something first, if we're here to enjoy some drinks. It's a bar, yes. But, they have a pretty good menu here as well. Unlike most bar food. I like the dolphin sandwich myself. But if you want to share with friends, you can always get some wings. It's a 2 O'clock bar. Which is fine with me. Good people. Good bartenders. Nice drink prices. And a food menu better than most bars like this in Oakland Park.

We were in the area and hungry. When we're like that, we usually want bar food and beer. Big Dog Station was that place. We opted to sit outside as the inside was more divey than we wanted. It was the day of an annual chili cookoff so it made the experience better. Beer selection was limited but it was cold. Food was bar food and hit the spot, though nothing was exceptional. What was exceptional was the service and the people. The young lady who helped us was a charm but this also seemed like a genuine locals place. Even though we're 15 mins from here, we weren't local enough! I could see this being the place I'd go to if I lived close by. Regardless, it's definitely worth a stop.

Went on a Monday night and had a great time. I ordered chicken tenders and a beer. The service was great and the bar is total vibe. The bartender was super friendly and explained so much, all of the everything, to us. KT, thank you for picking this place! Loved it.

I have driven past this place for years and have never stopped in. That changed today! Inside was dark and just how you'd expect it to look, which isn't a bad thing! Sports memorabilia throughout, along with helmets from local firefighters and departments hung around the bar. Service was A+, however they weren't too busy, and you can tell that this bar gets wild. Now for the food. It's unfortunate that sometimes when coming to places like this you don't expect amazing food. However this wasn't the case. The club sandwich was phenomenal. The best club sandwich I have ever tasted. Textures were perfect and even stayed crunchy after sitting in our fridge at home for 2 days. Get this club sandwich. Trust me. The hotdog was great too, it wasn't anything special but when ordering and craving a hotdog you don't want anything special, you want a darn good hot dog, that's what this was.

Dirty dive bar! Went to meet with a friend and left after 1 beer never again. Inside was awkward with boxes of stuff everywhere like a storage area right as you walk in. Initially, there is a u-shaped bar with a couple of older men. At first, I sat and felt like the 4 people and one bartender just stared at me without even asking if I wanted anything. I got up and went to the outside bar, which was a little better but still dirty.

The ambience service and food here were all exceptional. The bartender and owner are very friendly and let us know exactly what to expect after we ordered our food. The wings took a bit of time, but it was definitely worth the wait. The cheese steak was still piping hot after already eating for like 10 minutes, and the burger was cooked Perfect. No complaints. Will definitely be coming back here for another date night.

This place is very unique. Such a great mix of humans. We always have fun and yes it's a dive bar but it's the best at being a dive bar.

We sat at the bar and started with a libation. The bartender was great and very helpful. We had a cheesesteak with tots and a side of fried mushrooms. The sandwich was wonderful, tender and full of flavor. The mushrooms came with a horseradish sauce that was divine! Prices were fair, beers were cold and the company was fun...great place for locals and visitors alike! PSA: Sorry for the lack of pictures, it was date night so once we were seated we turned our devices of and put them in the wife's purse.

Everything fried to death. Was not at all what I was expecting. Even my dog wasn't enjoying the food. The wait staff were lovely though

Sadly did not have a good experience! Our little waitress was running her feet off but it took 1/12 hours to get a chicken club sandwich!!! I know they were busy but that was awful. Casey did the best she could!!

Loved the place! We went at lunchtime and had the best Philly cheese steak sandwich in town with inion rings and fries. The lady behind the bar was a gem and the place has a great, laid back, easy going vibe. Will definitely be back.

Everything ... smells like wet moldy carpet! Drinks taste funny... food is greasy and not well prepared... refried not made to order or thr oil is over used...

It is what it is... Simple, a bar, pool tables, nice people and easy bar menu. Not a lot of whisky choice, not a lot of food choices but I got to say, their cheesesteak is very good and comes with tots or fries- all under $12. Decent place, nice people. For that, I'll give 4 stars

We are big Boston fans but grew up in South Florida so when we saw this place was right around the corner, we had to try it. It's definitely a dive bar, but if you go in understanding that, this place is a gold mine! Walls decorated with Boston sports logos and has a low key vibe. We walked in for lunch today and we were instantly greeted by Nikki behind the bar. She got us some ice cold beverages and a couple menus. The Menus have a lot of options but it isn't so much you get lost in it. Nikki make a couple suggestions, we went with two of them. I got the wings. I'm a big spicy guy and they have a sauce called Downright Dangerous that i was intrigued by, so i asked. I'm glad i did because the downright dangerous is basically a Habanero salsa they make in house. Nikki suggested i get them hot with the Downright Dangerous on the side and the suggestion was spot on. I took some of the DD and put it on each bite of wing and it gave it an extra kick with each bite. Wings were big, meaty and crispy. They were also only $9.00 for 10! I got a basket of fries to go with them. Great fries, crispy and hot without being overcooked or greasy. My buddy got the Boston steak sandwich and he was very happy with it too. Said steak was chopped perfectly, bread was soft and the fries and beans he got were delicious. However, while the food was good, it was the people and the atmosphere that made this place GREAT! Nikki was back and forth to check on us and tell us stories. The regulars that were there (you could tell everybody knew each other) were friendly and it went from a lunch with my buddy to a big lunch with new friends. We will be back over and over, especially for Sox games. Big dog station is officially on our map!

Shit hole. We were greeting by a drunk chick screaming at cars passing by and a guy throwing up in the bushes by the front sidewalk. Classy! We walked in and all the tables were shoved off to the side, only seating option was the bar. Indoor Bar smelled of cigarettes so we chose to sit at the outside bar for some fresh air. Too bad it was TWICE as smoky outside. Unsure why this place has 4.5 average ratings. I don't believe it. This Elite Yelper is calling bullshit on the other reviews

Excellent cheesesteak.. best hole-in-the-wall eatery.. Loved it.. Would say if you're looking for a little place off the beaten path with AWESOME FOOD.. Look no FURTHER.. Highly, recommend!!

We went to Big Dog Station last night as a group of 14 college students visiting Wilton Manors for spring break. We came around 9:40 and the kitchen was closed already but they went ahead and reopened it for us and took all of our drink and food orders very quickly. Scotty was our bartender and was the BEST bartender we have ever had. He was giving us advice for where to go for the rest of the week that we are here and the service was just absolutely amazing. The food was GREAT and it was pretty cheap too. We are so glad we stumbled upon Big Dog Station, it was probably the most fun we will have and the best service we will experience for the rest of the trip! They also had really nice outdoor seating and free pool outside!

Wonderful bar with pool tables and a couple games. Great cheap drinks and wicked fun atmosphere inside. Every bartender I've met so far that's there has been spectacular with their service and personality. Couldn't recommend enough to stop in , grab a couple drinks , some food and engage in some laid back conversation. Make sure to say Hello to Matty if he's working, one of the best overall bartenders I've met

Went here for a burger and fries one afternoon. Really good service and food was as you'd expect. Later went to watch the SuperBowl. Great crowd, decent food abd beer was cold! I'll be back!!

Best dive bar I've been to in a LONG time! Even if you don't like dive bars, you will be welcomed here. I stopped here before the Funky Buddha MBCP festival for a hearty lunch and was fantastically surprised at the service and food! The crowd here is absolutely amazing and this is definitely a hometown bar (Boston based!!). They have a full bar and a large food menu along with plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio. My friend and I split a philly cheesesteak and wings which came with fries and baked beans. As simple as that sounds, it was absolutely perfect! Couldn't ask for anything more out of this place. Shoutout to the patrons and regulars...this place is exactly what I hoped it would be.

The people that work there are wonderful. Deb, the owner, is not. There are far better places to spend your money. Deb, the owner, is a hateful and onorous person. She is very rude and loud about it. Do not give her your money.

I headed over to Big Dog Station Friday evening to meet some friends. I'm an Oakland Park native and have heard of this place but never been. Big Dog is located at the very end of the Oakland Park main street area. It's basically at Oakland Park Boulevard and Dixie. The place wasn't super packed but there was a decent crowd. Parking was a little precarious. I was lucky to find a spot right out front. My friend parked in the back of the place in a grassy lot. We grabbed a table outside. This place has a local dive bar feel to it. The bartender/server working the outside bar was very friendly and came over to me almost immediately to take my drink order. She was very friendly and welcoming. One interesting thing is they offer koozies with your beer if you'd like one. On this particular evening, there was live music playing. Two guys in chairs playing country/rock standards on acoustic guitars. They were excellent. I did venture inside to use the restroom once. The inside of the place is small. When you head in from the patio, you walk right into people sitting at the bar. I did like the ambiance inside. It wasn't too noisy. They had the juke box and the majority of light came from the glow of neon lights. I didn't try any of the food but it seems like some good stuff. I'd like to try it next time.

Picked up food recently with this whole madness going on....wonderful attitude on the phone.... SUPER friendly when she handed me my order outside the door....I'm right around the corner but had never checked it out..my loss..... I'll be ordering take-out again soon... and hopefully dining/drinking there in the near future. I'm a fan

Pure fun in a bar with real deal Boston grime. Our waitress was a blast and she worked hard to make sure we had fun and were served well. We stared with the pork potato skins which had their widely advertised homemade pulled pork which certainly didn't disappoint, with a quite bold flavor and high quality pork they know that they are doing here. Then we all went on to have burgers for we were in the mood, I went for the massive 1 pound of beef burger with cheese, onions, Jalapeños, and it comes with mushrooms but I deferred. The burger was massive and great for the price but I gotta sau it was quite charred to the point where the burn flavor was a tad over powering but still good none the less. Would come back if the mood was right.

This is NOT A FAMILY BAR, just head down to Wilton Drive and you'll have a much better time. Let this crowd be to themselves, we have much better places to spend our hard earned dollars. Not a very friendly crowd at all. I'm 6-8, 240 lbs, and guess they really didn't want "big dogs" there. (Or was it the chain link collar with a big pad lock around my neck they care for?) Go Figure..

The staff was so friendly and nice! We picked this place because of the fun name. Our food was ready when we arrived. C had fun climbing in the big chair on our way to the patio to pick up the food. I enjoyed the BLT, it really hit the spot! My only disappointment was that our "soft" pretzel was hard as a rock by the time we got home and C couldn't even get one bite, and he was trying! I'd come back again!

Not for younger crowd!!! Went there for the very first time because reviews were good. Bar food and staff was awesome. UNTIL... WE GOT ONTO THE POOL TABLE. We went outside for a friendly game of pool and was immediately intimidated by bar regulars and literally harassed and bullied until we got off of the table. Specifically DALE AND HIS GROUP OF FOLLOWERS. cussed at us and mocked our youth; and a woman actually told me fuck you I will kill you. We ignored the spectators until it got threatening and out of control. I finally made one remark, telling the lady to shut up.. APARENTLY; they felt that they have so much reputation at the bar that they immediately ran into the bar and tried to get us kicked out. I tried respectably translating the situation, But we ended up excusing ourselves because even bar staff chose sides. I've never felt so disappointed and disrespected.

Best local bar In Broward hands down. Luke in the finest bartender in the land. Legend has it that he was born of a virgin bartender and raised by wolves. Just sayin. Food is good too. Just a great go to spot that is dog friendly, inexpensive, and clean. Hard to find a not smokey bar with darts and pool. Tons of TVs, friendly bar cat, additive scratch off lotto machine, and great patio area. Love it, go, drink, enjoy.

It's a dive bar/sports bar with a strong Boston Red Sox and Patriots following. The inside is rather small with its corners cluttered with what I'd classify as being junk, could use some sprucing up, but overall appears clean enough. When seated at the bar, you have a good view of any number of flat screens and the U-shaped bar being so small, it enables one to converse even with those seated on the other side. It's somewhat noisy, not from the televisions, but from the patrons who, after a few drinks have a tendency to speak rather loudly if not in fact shout out at each other. It's definitely a local bar, I would doubt that a tourist would know of the place, popular with lots of locals. The redeeming factors of it are that it has a nice outside covered patio with pool table, patio bar and some rather good food. I'd particularly recommend Tuesdays, which are their designated Taco Tuesdays with the Mahi Mahi Taco being particularly good or one of their special soups of the day, such as the celery soup. Another good attribute of Big Dog Station is that the patrons and the bar staff are all friendly, sort of fun loving. As a sports bar it doesn't amount to much, definitely a two stars, for tacos and such other bar like food, maybe three stars, and though I've certainly seen better, meaning more dive to the dive for a dive bar, it's OK for that and serves its purpose for that too. Though it's somewhat of a push, I can go Three Stars but the Five and Four Star ratings it's been given by others seems to me excessively high.

I love this bar...its my kind of place. The food is good. Taco night is the best night to go. See the photos of the tacos I've posted. The bar itself could use an upgrade one day maybe...lol However, I am giving this place a 5 star rating because of a few things: 1. Service. The bartenders are always so dang nice. 2. Food. I've had the Tacos, Pizza, and a few other things. Always so good.... 3. FRESH SQUEEZED OJ!!!!!!! Yes, they do it right there in front of you. 4. Cheaper prices on drinks. 5. Open very very early in the morning. Yes.......I love this neighborhood bar. It's never ever super packed. They have a juke box and the bartenders are always nice. I identify with the LBTQ+I Community. This was Second time visiting this very popular Watering hole. The Burgers, wings and Cocktail prices r second to none. I was super excited to c fellow Bar Patrons that identify with my Community . Tyler the Bartender was friendly for the most part, but seemed too interested in telling his story than listening to our story. His knowledge of Cocktails and shots were limited. However, he did an adequate job. It's a fun place with a lot of unique Characters. However, visiting with fellow LGBTQ patrons and being ourselves seemed to make Local regulars uncomfortable? The Heterosexual Customers didn't like our music that we payed to play and at one point Tyler complained verbally who's controlling this music, it sucks. We all left as a group feeling that we we're welcomed as long as we don't show our true selves, love and affection for each other. It's still a staple in my mind and Heart. I have to remember not to be Gay when I go there.Best Burgers and Wings in Oakland Park and Wilton Manors hands down. No contest.

The very definition of a neighborhood bar and grill. Great welcoming atmosphere and fantastic simple bar food. Would Def recommend to anyone looking for a cool little hole in the wall with good food!

Dive bar at its finest. Their wings are awesome- finished on the grill and huge! Do yourself a favor and get the Pulled Pork Quesadilla as an appetizer to share. They slow roast the pork in house daily and it is divine! The staff are awesome. They always go above and beyond and the local banter you are exposed to is entertainment in itself. Great for football watching and beer drinking! Also, they are open 365 days a year from 7am-2am!

Awesome staff, dude at the bar was funny and chill. Food was great, atmosphere was all around cool. Staff seemed to know a lot of the customers on a first name basis, definitely a "regulars" place but it felt homey! Will definitely come back!

Big Dog Station is hands down my favorite spot. I've never seen so many different groups of people in one place sharing drinks and stories across the bar. The bartenders are awesome and the food is exactly what you're looking for in a sports bar... especially the wings! I also really appreciate the local bars that are constantly giving back, holding fundraisers, and participating in every community event. Deb has worked many years to make this place more than a bar, and it shows. Support local!

Big Dog Station never disappoints! It's become our favorite neighborhood spot for the past two years living in the area. The staff are wonderful and food is always delicious. I recommend the wings, but there tons of great items on the menu!

This place seems a lot like Cheers, the place where everyone knows each other's name. I could tell when they all stared at me as if I had walked into the wrong place. I had ordered a cheeseburger and a Big Dog Burger to go. I asked for them to be well done and quite frankly they were charred. My son enjoyed his but it got difficult to keep eating the entire thing....just too dry. I did find it well-seasoned though. Also, we got nothing but packs of ketchup and given how dry it was I would have liked some mustard or mayo or even more ketchup. The burger came with fries and baked beans (cold), which was odd to me...I like them hot...but perhaps they were meant to be served cold. I assumed they were. I also got a couple of canned sodas to go and these were room temperature. I asked for a couple cups or ice and did get those. The fries were perfect though, hot and crispy just the way I like them. So overall it was not a horrible experience. However this is more of a sit and eat bar than take out. Had the burger not been charred and with both ketchup and mustard I'm sure I would have enjoyed it fully. And the bartender was nice enough. I'm sure the regulars love it. Just a bit different than I expected based on reading reviews however I would not discourage a visit so you can make up your own mind.

These are the rudest people staff and the regulars. Don't waste your time. Cheap beer, cheap food, and cheap attitudes. Shame because it's a great location. Never again

Matty was our bartender he was very welcoming , I came here to eat and they stop serving food at 8 on Monday so he gave me a bag of his chips which I thought was super sweet, he was very accommodating and the service was super quick!!! They have pool tables here and an outside area to sit . I liked it there a lot and will definitely work back , hopeful Matty will be working !

Went here on a vacation weekend with my husband. Everyone was super nice and Chris was awesome! Great drinks and lemme just say, what people are saying about the pulled pork sandwich is totally true! It's amazing Might I add we were really happy because this was one of the only bars we could find that was smoke free (were from Michigan and everything is smoke free here) so that was a great thing! Might I add they even had the football game on that we wanted to watch and the people there were even cheering along with us! Great environment and people! If we are ever back in the area we will be back!
