This little gem is a gem! We had an absolutely wonderful experience! Wasn't sure what to expect walking into it, but we were all very happy we found this place on Fox 8 New Day Cleveland! Marina was our server, and she was a delight! She gave her menu recommendations, was quick to refill our drinks, was very friendly, and made sure we were happy! This place was So clean and spacious! The food was very hot, fresh and generous portions! The menu is so huge. I'm sure there is something for everyone! The owner, Jimmy, was there, and it was nice to meet him! He's doing a great job because there are not a lot of places like this one around! Give it a try if you haven't! We will forsure be back!

Google
This restaurant offers a variety of breakfast selections that are made fresh and delicious to the palate. We've enjoyed the skillets and omelets from previous visits.

Google
Fair coffee way overpriced at 3.25 per cup. Eggs over easy were fine and cooked to order. Eggs Benedict in name only. Poor quality American cheese melted over low quality chewy ham. It is not hollandaise and it should state that on the menu. My wife could not eat them. Frozen hash browns not cooked, cold. Should be hot and crispy. Staff was friendly and attentive but it is not the Big Egg of my younger day. We will not return, too bad.

Google
The North Olmsted location of this longstanding Cleveland restaurant is conveniently located, staffed with friendly and attentive staff, and most importantly- they have good food that comes out fast! Not to mention ruin a good cup of coffee. We tried the Big & Nasty… my husband got his eggs fried, mine were scrambled. It’s a hearty, filling, and delicious breakfast!

Google
The door states the Hours of Operations - I believe the staff is unaware of what this means. Party of 2 with a child arriving 40 minutes before the posted closing time should not be turned away especially by yelling it across the restaurant. I mentioned the sign says they close at 3, other patrons voiced my same concern. All we wanted was a simple breakfast, this could have been achieved easily… we then reached the door to leave and they locked it behind us which I believe is a violation while serving guests that were still eating. The establishment decided to not service a small table and would rather take a loss of money, future guests and a bad review. I stand on this review because I also have a good and beverage background… the Hours of operation should reflect the hours open for service, it’s no a suggestion it’s clearly posted on the door. For example, you would never walk into any restaurant. Let’s just say cheesecake factory 40 minutes before they close and get turned away. Business owners please train your staff properly and encourage him to not put a bad name on your business, these kids just wanted to go home and we’re very upset when they saw us walk in 40 minutes before Closing. Unfortunately, I don’t think I would return here. The big egg Name has been a staple of Cleveland since Wayback one and I have been to the specific location before with no problem this needs to get addressed.

Google
Ordered eggs over-easy because they always overcook them a bit, and over medium is perfect; however, they came solid, not a single ounce of runny, more like a hard-boiled egg. Rye bread, unknown to me, was $3 extra, as I assumed it came with the meal! 3 bucks? You can damn near buy a whole loaf for $3. Coffee - $3.25. With the tip, our meal was over $40, and it was disappointing. Honestly, how hard is it to cook eggs, and why did they get past both the cook and the waitress? You could see immediately that they were not cooked to order. I'm done, too many damn restaurants around now. Good luck.

In the late 80s I was a regular for Sunday brunch at the Big Egg when it was in Cleveland on Detroit Road. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the Big egg is still slinging hash in North Olmsted. I got the Chicken Teriyaki Philly Sandwich with hand cut fries for $9.99. The food was served fast and hot. It was a very tasty sandwich and nicely portioned. The restaurant is spacious and there are booths and tables for larger groups. I will be back when in the area.

Google
Food: SO many choices! It was hard to choose. We both really enjoyed our bfasts: I got bfast burrito, very good, husband got the 2x4 and was so so excited! Service: Marina was our most excellent waitress. She was like an old friend by the time we left. Atmosphere: This was one of the cleanest restaurants we’ve been to in a long time. Spotless. Cute. The prices were really good value. Very long menu! We’ll definitely be back. Paul & Sue

Yelp
This was a revelation showing how great a breakfast joint can surprise you. Service was impeccible, at least 10x coffee refills, and super friendly. Super clean and the menu was really exciting with some new flavor combinatioms I hadn't expected and was more than ready for. We'll be returning.

Yelp
Good food . Great service. Would highly recommend. This is value, in my humble opinion.

Yelp
I stopped in solo after shopping around 4:30 PM. The restaurant was totally empty. I ordered chicken noodle soup (sadly, the crackers were all stale). The soup Average. I ordered the fish & chips dinner. Two small pieces of fish. The baked potato was excellent. The coleslaw, I was afraid to eat because it tasted like vinegar. All in all, I'm going to order only breakfast if I return. (What they are known for). The server was friendly and welcoming. The wooden table top was very sticky and gross feeling.
google avatar

Mary Lynn J.

Yelp
The staff is friendly and do their best to make sure your food is great and your cup is filled. I had chicken and waffles for breakfast! Yummy. More than enough for breakfast and lunch. Like a lot of other places, there is a fee for using a credit card. If that bothers you, bring cash.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick breakfast (to-go). Service was very efficient. Ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon. Very nice portion size and it came with both sour cream and salsa. I will definitely be back! Love little local places like this.

Corey K.

Yelp
Had terrible customer service and when a food issue arose, the manager came out to explain how we were in the wrong. It was laughable that they would lose a customer over $14 when visually you can see that they were wrong.

Yelp
After having had the big egg cleveland during my 20s, I had to try the food at this location. Ordered mozz sticks (so good best ive had they were battered and marinara was delicious) and onion rings (perfect they were battered). We also ordered chicken gyro (fresh and just right for a healthy light lunch), cheeseburger ( great size burger and delicious). I will definitely be trying different things on the menu and always starting with some mozz and onion rings!

Angel M.

Yelp
Great food and service. I really enjoyed it. My daughter and I went in the afternoon we had breakfast. Customer service was excellent price was good atmosphere was really enjoyable our righteous very kind and polite and we got our food really quick and it was cooked to excellence.

Yelp
UNSAFE FOOD wow stuffed cabbage x 2 for lunch. Ice cold. Discreetly told the waitress pls microwave this 2 min it's really cold. Comes back out no hotter. Left the plates paid the tab $30 left a tip & split. Owner & waitress were really nice people only reason I didn't make a fuss. I hope they read this & correct the problem. 1 star.

Keba S.

Yelp
The food was great and there customer service was great. Nice place to come and enjoy a nice lunch and the prices are fair.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning since we were in the area. This place was OK. Nothing that you can't find at any other local diner...basic breakfast fare - pancakes, waffles, omelets, etc. My fiancé said the syrup for the pancakes tasted funny and they give you a giant golf ball sized dollop of butter...too much. Coffee was pretty good, but nothing special that would make anyone go out of their way to come here. Our server was good, but the cashier didn't know anything about the Yelp check in discount when we showed her. Meh, I think there's better breakfast options in the area.
google avatar

Megan R.

Yelp
So my mom and I decided to get some breakfast this Saturday morning before my flight home and we wanted to try something new! Apparently my mom used to go to the Big Egg all the time when she was younger at their old location! So this was fun for her to eat somewhere that reminded her of when she was younger! Our food was fantastic! It was just your well made fresh breakfast that you crave on weekend mornings. Our waitress was phenomenal. She was both the hostess and our waitress and she didn't miss a thing! She was on top of everything and her effort did not go unnoticed!! I plan to be back next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Michele B.

Yelp
Big Egg was super busy when we stopped in on a Saturday late morning. You could tell the staff was hurried and stressed- which I'm sure is from being short staffed and over worked! We were greeted and sat right away. A nice young man took our drink order and soon after a girl took our food order. I was surprised when our food arrived very quickly! My omelette was terrific. Seasoned well, filled with toppings. I also tried a few bites of silver-dollar pancakes and they were pretty good. My husband said his food wasn't seasoned much and he was disappointed with his corned beef hash. He said there was a very, small (Almost laughable) amount of corned beef. My meal was great and the people were all very nice. They handled the hustle and bustle pretty well. I'll go back--maybe without my husband who tends to hold a grudge.

Yelp
Brought my son here today for our first father-son breakfast in a very long time. This location has a wonderful diner feel, from the wooden benches to the simplicity of their breakfast-all-day menu. The service was fast, friendly, courteous, and polite. Everyone from our young hostess, our first contact at the table, to our waitress treated us perfectly like we were their favorite guest of the day. I would highly recommend this location to start yo

Kathleen K.

Yelp
They were very busy when we got there at10:30 on a Saturday morning, but the hostess had a booth for four cleaned off& ready quickly. It did take quite awhile until someone came to offer coffee. Our waitress was excellent. She was very busy but stayed on top of everything. The only disappointment with the food was that my husband's biscuits for his biscuits & gravy were just the standard frozen from a can type. We were hoping for fresh/ homemade, but definitely not a dealbreaker. The ambiance was average. Clean enough, with average atmosphere. The food was very good and served hot. Would return if in the area. Yummy.
google avatar

Jessie C.

Yelp
Good service with constant coffee refills. Food came out quickly, but was overall average tasting and undercooked, particularly the sausage links and hash browns (cooked at high temps for not long enough). Table condiment containers could use more frequent cleanings.
google avatar

Dawn H.

Yelp
Ordered food, got home and the french fries were not in the order. I called right away, they close at three and at 2:50 I'm getting their answering machine. Would be nice to at least get a refund for the two extra dollars that they took from me. I don't live in the area so it's not easy for me to stop back by for fries.

Myron S.

Yelp
I took out an order of a gyro sandwich and a side of cottage cheese. My sandwich was excellent and the cottage tasty. Thanke Big Egg.

Georgeanne M.

Yelp
I use to really enjoy this place. Friendly staff, good food. So as I paid the bill with my credit card ( as usual) I found that there was a "non-cash charge"! WHAT??? REALLY? Never was told before hand that there would be an extra charge or I would have paid cash. Will never recommend this place again, nor will I ever enter it again. They just lost my business.
google avatar

Roland S.

Yelp
Went there for brunch. Ordered the western omelette. Good tasting, and the hash browns were not greasy at all. Wife had French toast really enjoyed it. The food tasted like home cooking.
google avatar

Lila S.

Yelp
My husband and I had breakfast at Big Egg in Norrh Olmsted for the first time today and it exceeded all expectations!! I had a ham & cheese omelette that was delicious, not over cooked and dry like the last one I had at Bob Evans! The hash browns were crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked inside. Rye toast was excellent too. My husband had the pumpkin pancakes and they were to die for...DELICIOUS!! I don't know who wrote the negative reviews but they must work for a competitor!! Prices were good too! We will Definitely be back and make this are new "go to"!
google avatar

Carrie G.

Yelp
The table was super dirty. The sandwiches weren't good. And on top of that the waitress complained about the amount I tipped her. One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. Never again and I tell everyone not to go. Just awful.
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
If you're in Cleveland and haven't been to the Big Egg restaurant yet, you're missing out. I had an amazing 1/2 pound burger with a fried egg and all the fixings. Top notch! Going back soon with my family.
google avatar

Yelp
Only been twice , food good twice, other morning was eating and morning gal came in and I noticed no good morning or whatnot to other waitresses gal and thought she hates being here, boy was I wrong she put on her cape lol and jumped right in with a smile, so nice to see, and homefries close to my old Aries that is now closed, anyway will be back

Yelp
I used to go to the original Big Egg so I was really looking forward to having one close to me here in North Olmsted. I will probably not be going back. I had the 2x4 breakfast (pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage). The bacon and sausage had no flavor to them, the pancakes were only okay and there is no way that was two scrambled eggs on my plate. My roommate had a skillet and the biscuits were flavorless and hard, although she said the gravy was good. She was hoping to get the eggs benedict that she had at the original restaurant and it wasn't on the menu. Back to Canary's for us.

Tracy B.

Yelp
I went here with friends for the first time this past Saturday. Upon entering I found it to be very clean and cute. We were seated immediately and had our drink order taken. When she returned with our drinks she took our order. There was a young friendly man walking around keeping everyone's coffee full and helping the servers out with drink Refills. Our food came out quickly and was fresh and hot. I had the taco omelette, my friends had the breakfast sandwich and an omelette. They both upgraded to the red skin potatoes and I wish I had too, they looked delicious!! If ever in the area again I would definitely stop in for the great coffee, delicious breakfast and friendly, fast service.

Yelp
The Best Food & Service! You won't be disappointed. My family and I are regulars here. Not one complaint . Great Job Guys!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute place! Food is delicious and staff is nice would definitely recommend for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Everything is homemade and cooked to order

Kenneth S.

Yelp
my significant other and I come here every weekend. the hospitality, food, service and etc are always at the top of the top! not to mention the staff are always on top of their stuff. not to mention the prices....should i go on? no....no i won't, go see it for yourself!

Jeanette S.

Yelp
Good place for brunch! Good food and service! Had a Superman omelette and hash browns,

Yelp
I grew up in the Ohio City area, and went to the original location as a kid...frequently. The good was ALWAYS good. On a Friday morning, I decided to try the North Olmsted location. Much to my amazement, there was only one other person in the dining room. The server was nice and the coffee was good!...that's all I can say on a positive review. The hash browns were...weird!!! After eating the browned part, what was underneath was watery, mushy and had no taste that resembled potatoes. I paid an upcharge of .60 for sourdough toast which was very stale. The sausage links way too greasy! I give two stars because at least the coffee was good.

Angela M.

Yelp
Found this place with my son while waiting for the hockey store across the street to open. I was a little nervous based on the low star ratings on Yelp so my expectations were low. I had a hungry teenager so we gave it a shot. Well worth it! I had a breakfast burrito and my son got a giant burger. Food was good. Service was a bit slow. Place is super cute on the inside.
google avatar

Roger O.

Yelp
This restaurant does not allow for social distancing. They pack the house so it is very uncomfortable sitting so close to each table or booth. Back it off guys, give us breathing room. I simply left with the family. I understand people want to come in, but gosh new customers can wait their turn.

Julia D.

Yelp
My eggs weren't cooked at all. Waitress was high off her ass and was the only one working when we saw other people.

Ali P.

Yelp
I've been a regular (1-2 times a month) for about a year. The service is always good, friendly and approachable. I order steak & eggs. The last visit I couldn't even cut the meat with steak knife! Server had the owner come to me and I felt he lectured me about steaks. Yes, I know it's not a steakhouse, but uneatable meat is never good! He didn't offer to make another, saying "it could be from the same cut"! REALLY?! So, no meat, no offer of free meal (eggs, hash browns and toast) AND was charged an extra egg! All with a LECTURE?! I actually was upset being grilled by owner. It's definitely not my first steak. This isn't the first time I've had a bad steak there. It was my last time going there bc of this whole experience. No offer of a coupon to return or something palatable. It was my splurge to eat out and I was left HUNGRY, dissatisfied, disappointed and miffed. They know me by sight. Well, I'll be a memory now. Shouldn't treat people with disrespect, especially in a service industry. A lecture! He literally stood at my table and lectured me about why I was buying a cheap cut of meat and that I shouldn't expect much nor should he make a new steak bc it was most likely part of the same cut! He stood at my table for about 3-4 minutes giving me the rundown. Wowza.
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
Crepes were amazing, corn beef hash and sausage was good. The best cheese sticks ever either location. Great service even being understaffed and absolutely packed.

John P.

Yelp
Descent food, friendly staff, ok prices, but possible the worst hash browns in the city. Brown on the outside, raw on the inside. Made a point to ask it they could make sure they were cooked all the way through today, and this is what I got.
google avatar

Janyne S.

Yelp
The food was not my idea of a good meal. Pancakes had a burned aftertastes. The potato hash browns were raw inside. The sausage gravy had a strange seasoning we could not decide what it was but none of the 6 of us liked it. We will not return for an encore.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Unfortunately this was one of the worse dinners we have had in a long time. The salmon was tough and had no flavor. The veal treated like a frozen banquet meal. The mashed potatoes had no flavor. The baked potato was over cooked. The Cole slaw had gone bad, like sour/rotten. We just wanted a quick eat dinner and were left very disappointed.
google avatar

Colleen K.

Yelp
This place is very meh. Our food had barely any taste at all! It seems clean and the staff is polite and it wasn't crowded at all (probably for good reason). I had crepes with strawberries and there was a faint onion flavor. The strawberries did not seem anywhere near fresh and had a strange flavor. Skip this place and go to Danny Boy's.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in to the Big Egg 2 for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 10:30am & had a good experience. We were greeted quickly & sat,our order was taken within 5/10 minutes & the food came out within 15/20 minutes. We must have come at the right time because right as we discussed how nice & quick everything was, it started to get pretty busy. Our waters & coffee was always filled. I ordered the egg/homefries/meat/toast basic breakfast - it hit the spot & good. The homefries were hot & crispy at the top when brought out (my favorite!!). If your looking for a fast, reasonably priced breakfast and good (not amazing but good) then give this place a try.

Kim H.

Yelp
Ordered veggie omelet, asked for added Corned Beef. Charged $2 for a few strands of corned beef. Actually such small amount at first I thought they forgot to add. Questioned at check out and the owner said you only get a sprinkle. It was less than a sprinkle, very disappointing. This was not out first time eating breakfast here. First time was great. But will be the last.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by the new Big Egg location in North Olmsted for breakfast. Had a tasty Greek omelet and rye toast, nothing fancy. The coffee was really good as well. The restaurant was clean, with a good mix of booths and tables. Service was excellent too, with very friendly employees. Classic soft rock/pop was playing in the backround. Perfect. Can't wait to try lunch or dinner here in the near future. This family owned and run place is an excellent addition to all the local restaurant choices in town.

Yelp
My daughter and I had a late breakfast/brunch at the Big Egg in North Olmsted... on Friday October 25th 2019.... an expensive experience that left a "bad taste in my mouth"... literally! My biggest complaint is about the products they used... margarine... instead of butter... cheap, greasy, flavorless and oddly dark yellow margarine, the options to lighten coffee, milk or non dairy creamer... and the obviously premixed preservative filled waffle batter that tasted like chemicals... it was clearly the cheapest thing available... the orange juice was from a concentrate and watery... even the hash browns although cooked dark like I asked were only dark on one side and mushy wet and tasted oily on the other... the syrup tasted odd and again sure seemed like the cheapest they could find... the eggs and the bacon were fine... I had toast that was under cooked but the bread was good quality... shame they ruined it with the cheap margarine... and I had to hunt through 1000 grape jelly packets to find 2! mixed fruit and all of that for steep $36! Dollars! I had 2 eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and toast. My daughter had an omelet and hash browns and toast, and we ordered a waffle to split. Terrible! We will not return. Bob Evans next time!!

J N.

Yelp
My server walked up after me sitting there for 10 mins waiting, says "what's your order?" No "hi", nothing. She comes back and leaves the food then disappears for 20 mins. I got no refills, I needed another napkin and salt. By the time she walked back and asked how was the food, I had 2 bites of my omelette left. The hash browns were burnt and ice cold. When I said " when you delivered these, they were cold" she said "oh" and walked away! She had long blond hair and shorts way too tight and short on. I won't be back.

Art R.

Yelp
While in Cleveland/Olmstead area, this place has only been open for a month, but was very impressive. I have to make a special comment about the coffee. This place obviously uses a much better blend that the normal watered down stuff you get everywhere else. The food was hot and fast. Service was spot on. Once people realize that this place is here, there will be lines. Great breakfast place, but will try some of the other items on the menu on the next visit. Enjoy

K F.

Yelp
Meh - barely okay. My pancakes were served with the biggest yellow blob of margarine, were dry, tasteless and couldn't even be cut with a knife. My husband's toast was barely toasted and drowning in butter. Some selections were quite pricey. Don't bother

Lori H.

Yelp
We really had a great breakfast! Will definitely go back. Clean, cute and great service.

Carole L.

Yelp
If you could give a negative rating this place deserves it! This place is a far cry from the Cleveland location! Service is terrible! Country fried steak was ordered. The toast was brought cold, the butter never melted. New toast was requested, by the time the toast came the eggs were stone cold. We had to request more coffee! We asked to speak to a manager and a young college aged student responded. I will never return to this location. The only good experience was the host/busses who was very polite and accommodating!
