"There is a lot to enjoy at this West Bank seafood gem, including a top-notch Viet-Cajun boil. Big Ez is one of the best spots to get a big order of boiled crawfish — just be sure to call ahead. Dine in for great prices." - Eater Staff, Clair Lorell

Been wanting to check out a diff crawfish place from being out of town and stopped by EZ. Got the crab and shrimp boil with the EZ flavor. Sauce was pretty good but a little loose for my liking. Crab was slightly overcooked but still pretty good. Priced about the same as places around New Orleans, worth a stop in, I'd recommend boil house over EZ though.

Google
A friend who’s from Nola recommended this place for us. The big EZ sauce is… incredible. One of the best sauces we’ve ever had even as a crawfish connoisseur lol. You definitely should come here away from the tourist places otherwise you’ll be missing out.

Alicia Solomon

Google
The best crawdads ever! Locals said they were 2nd best, but I can't believe it! Next time, I'm going to try Jay Jay's. They said it was better! But this place was good. I ordered a crawdad boil with eggs potatoes sausage and corn

Google
Our first time in NOLA and we wanted to try an authentic spot. We waited 1.5 hours to get our food and although the food was tasty, size of the critters were perfect, the temperature was off (room temp, borderline cold). Maybe it was an off day, but I can’t wait to be back in NOLA to try out other spots.

Google
My family and I visited NOLA for a short weekend. One of the must-do items on our list was getting Vietnamese-Cajun cuisine. My cousin found this place recommended on reddit. I was a little skeptical because it's a little south in Gretna, but it was absolutely worth the trip. We were able to sit down at a big table for 5 as we walked in on a Saturday night. Once you order, you can buy drinks from the deli fridge. There are gloves to grab as well. Calvin was incredible warm and made us feel welcome. He came by our table to chat and get to know us and shared some local things to do on our trip. Not only that, he made suggestions for our order since the market price of the seafood was a bit higher than we were anticipating. We're from the Bay Area where seafood boil tastes different. I would describe it as sweeter than what we got here. I loved trying everything in the Big EZ Basket. We also got crawfish, traditional gumbo, and the fried catfish seafood basket. Everything was good and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for good and fresh seafood boil!

Google
Went there the other day and the crawfish was amazing! The gumbo was also phenomenal and I really enjoyed going there. Will definitely be going back soon.

Sophia Z.

Google
Seafood was good and the owner was really nice. Gave our table free dessert. Service was good.

We tried all 4 seasons, you can’t go wrong with any opinion! My favorite was the Viet Cajun. 22/10

Yelp
Greg experience! The customer service was great from beginning to end. I was killing time waiting for a flight pick up & decided to stop in to eat. I ordered the shrimp poboy to eat there and one to go Both were delicious and fresh! I also ordered 2 drinks to go- long island and margarita i didn't find them strong Bathroom was very clean! The space is huge and they have great deals- especially if you live oysters. Jonathan was the bar waiter and was so inviting and just cool to speak with. i was very indecisive on what i wanted and he didn't rush me, offered me suggestions . If i live close i would definitely go back in a heart beat!!

Yelp
Walked in at 7:00pm. Two customers ahead of us, (one was on the phone) when it was finally our turn to order the guy asked us to hold so he can answer the business phone. Once he answered the call and finally got to us we were told we couldn't dine in because it was after 7:15pm. If he had made the guy get off the phone (they have a big sign plastered saying you can't be on the phone when ordering) and then allowed us to order before taking the phone call we would have been able to dine in. We will not be returning or attempting to eat here again.

Yelp
I hate having to do this, but things are truly getting out of hand. I ordered a fried catfish poboy and I'm 99% sure the "catfish" was swai. What bothers me the most is that this isn't the only restaurant doing it and getting away with it. For the love of god please stop selling catfish if it's not catfish. We can tell. And the garlic fries were inedible. All I tasted was raw garlic and the fries were incredibly soggy. I unfortunately cannot recommend either of these items.

Hannah L.

Yelp
got the largest seafood bucket (came out in a bag) which included lobster tail and split that amongst five people which was the perfect amount! the only thing i didn't like was the fact that the big ez seasoning was super spicy :/ was not expecting that. but i liked how the bucket also included egg, corn and potatoes!! they don't have free water, you need to buy drinks :/ very casual restaurant where u sit yourself and order at the counter and they bring u the food. u pay at the end. overall, solid place if u wanted quick and casual seafood boil.

Pulelehua E.

Yelp
Great service, the servers were very polite and helpful to me and my large party with questions about the menu. We ordered several seafood platters and a few poboys and some garlic fries. Everything was delicious and fairly priced. Drinks are self serve from the wall in the back which I felt was an interesting concept. High quality seafood, the traditional seasoning had a decent spice level, I just wish the flavor profile was a little more complex as it just tasted "spicy" with no other distinguishable flavors. Would definitely visit again!

Christina N.

Yelp
Large party and we were able to be seated together without having to wait. You order and sit down, they bring the food to you and you pay when you're done with the meal. I think they aren't used to serving a large party though because they definitely gave our order to our friends even though we were the first to order. Didn't really get much besides a "sorry 'bout it" even when we followed up on order and they told us to just wait. Got gumbo, garlic noodles, and crawfish etouffee. The gumbo and garlic noodles were okay and the crawfish etouffee definitely was a lot better. It was creamy and rich and had a good amount of crawfish tails inside. We got 3 lbs crawfish and 2 lbs of shrimp since it came in the deal with extra add on items. You can't adjust the spice level and I felt it was a mild, would've liked the option to make it spicier. The soft shelled crab poboy was good.

Whitney A.

Yelp
Place was pretty packed on a weekday but we found a table. Seafood is decent. We ordered a boil bag of some sort, mussels, and then snow crab leg boil bag. We got the original for the boil. Looks like their seafood generally is sauced in a butter garlic type sauce which we weren't use to. But it had a nice kick without being too spicy. Potatoes had no flavor though so they must not soak them. Good took a while but it was worth it. I also ordered garlic fries which I would not recommend. Nothing fancy but worth the try. It's a solid spot.

Syd G.

Yelp
This time we drove out of NOLA and into Algiers specifically to try this seafood place. Sometimes finding the outbid way spots are so much better. This is not fancy by any means and qualifies as a mom n pop. So we were excited. The smells are unbelievable as soon as you walk in. We loved the smell of fresh seafood and it's a market as well. Fresh crabs sitting in bins ok top of the counter. The two young men behind the counter were so helpful and friendly. Decided on the special. It was very reasonable at $45. Came with shrimp, soft shell crab, sausage, two ears of corn, hard boiled eggs AND snow crab legs. Then we can pick out our cold beers from the cooler. I would have given them 5 all day long, except the shrimp were way overcooked. The sauce is spicy but full of so many awesome flavors! We would come back again next time we're in NOLA!

Bryan H.

Yelp
Wow I had such low expectations for this place because I had no idea what to expect of this place... but oh man was this place bomb! We went on a Sunday afternoon, there was no crowd, and I'm typically used to SoCal boil, but wow the EZ blend seasoning and flavoring on the crawfish was incredible! It was well salted, flavorful, and the crawfish were big and juicy. For a place that looked like a casual convenience store, this place knows how to make a great seafood boil. Will be making it back here when I visit again!

Kong L.

Yelp
I was excited to try BIG EZ Seafood, but I was ultimately disappointed. I've had Asian Cajun food from all over the country, and I was expecting this place to blow me away. However, the flavors were not as bold as I had imagined, and they were out of crawfish during lunch! This is a major disappointment, considering that New Orleans is the crawdad capital of the world. I ended up getting the king crab, which was fresh, but it wasn't worth the price tag. The concept of the restaurant is great, but it can be a bit confusing. The staff at the counter seemed distracted and on their phones, which didn't start off the experience well. Overall, I would not recommend BIG EZ Seafood to anyone looking for a great Asian Cajun meal.

Jordan V.

Yelp
BOMB DOT COM! We did 2 lbs of snow crab, 1lb of blue crab, with corn and potatoes and it was so delicious! We choose the garlic butter sauce for some of it and the blend of sauces for the rest! SO MUCH FOOD! 10/10 recommend.

Raychel W.

Yelp
Amazing crab and shrimp! Corn and potatoes were meh but I'd go back for the seafood alone. The staff was friendly.

Hetal M.

Yelp
Oh my, this was my first time having crawfish. I was taught the proper way to eat it and, have to say, they were delicious. I got 2 pounds of the Cajun flavoured with corn and it was delightful- especially for my first time. I loved the communal tables and readily available paper towel everywhere. I usually can't handle spice so I was surprised how well I lasted! Strong recommendation, I'd go back the next time I'm in NOLA

jamal g.

Yelp
I get 2lbs of Boiled Shrimp (Head-Off) with the Big EZ blend. Reason being I like the option of having the head off because they de vein them as well.

Jordan V.

Yelp
The food itself was quite amazing and felt like a true New Orleans experience. The yakamein was recommended to us, as this is a twist on pho with a hint of New Orleans (had chicken, shrimp, veggies, boiled egg, and the broth was flavorful). The seafood boil was incredible, and I liked how they had options of what sauces it could come in. What I did not like about this place was the service and ambiance. For starters, you don't pay for your bill until after your meal is done (but you aren't served really like with a waiter or waitress to come check on you). When we were asking the workers questions about what to get, they weren't very helpful so make sure you know what you want ahead of time. After you order, you just find an open table and wait for your food. However, there were a few tables that were not cleaned off to sit at. Finally, toward the end of our meal, my boyfriend and I kept hearing a snapping noise. We didn't realize that this was some sort of fly or bug trap until we almost finished the meal completely. It appeared to have just been by the back door and not in the kitchen so maybe it was okay... It definitely would turn me off from ever going there again, but I am glad we experienced it once.

Yelp
LOCATION: Lafayette/17th PARKING: Small lot in front of the business (~10 spots) WHAT WE ORDERED: *Bourbon Basket w/ EZ Blend (MP) Had to get seafood boil before going home. The Bourbon Basket fed four girls and left us completely satiated. The shrimp, crab legs, and potatoes were packed with so much flavor. I didn't care too much for the hard-boiled egg. The EZ Blend was a fantastic choice, encapsulating flavors from both the Viet-Cajun and Cajun Citrus blends. The only downside was that crawfish wasn't in season, so we couldn't order that. Shoutout to our Uber driver for the recommendation!

Vanessa N.

Yelp
The shrimp po boy was the best po boy I've ever had, it had a perfect balance of sauce to shrimp and bread! The cashier in the front was very helpful when ordering size for our large party. The crawfish viet Cajun flavor was a saucy garlic flavor, CRAZY FLAVOR. And their traditional was okay, not too spicy for non spicy eaters. This place was PACKED every time we came there was a line and inside was filled. Parking is also a little tough so give yourself extra time to find parking or order and take it to go!

Jessica K.

Yelp
The seafood is really fresh however it's a little bit confusing to order if you're not familiar with seafood boils, and it gets pretty expensive but that's expected. The employees and ambiance were a little odd and the location is low key in the middle of nowhere but food is worth it. I really liked the shrimp, lobster, and potatoes with the cajun butter broth. I didn't love the eggs--two powdery. The animal fries were really good too, but skip out on the fried chicken (nothing special)

Paula C.

Yelp
We were looking for restaurant that serves crawfish in New Orleans, We should of call first because its not the season so they don't have it. They only serve fresh seafood. We ordered some shrimp instead the flavor was yummy with combination of viet sauce and house sauce, it was yummy and tasty The service was fast and usually pay after eating. The ambiance was simple yet cozy. Would love to go back here again. Thank you

Jacqueline F.

Yelp
Crawfish here was amazing super spicy however the staff wasn't that nice nor friendly. I asked about the differences in flavors. She just said "They all good" smh Thank god the food was good, because the service sucks. They even charge for butter lol

Kate G.

Yelp
Super clean and open space with bar and TVs. Servers are attentive and go beyond. We had the crayfish boil, grilled oysters, raw oysters, garlic noodles - all was fresh and delicious!

Ellie N.

Yelp
5 stars for the positive energy of the owner, captain Thien. He's above and beyond. Another 5-star for the fresh crawfish and snow crab. Tips: call ahead and ask how fresh are the crawfish. They will give you the exact time of the day when fresh crawfish arrives. I'll be back tomorrow for more dishes.

Candace V.

Yelp
The spices are amazing, but everything I got was a little overcooked. I wish I could take their spice mix and do it at home, but I'd go back anyway. Server was nice and attentive. The place was clean and bright.

Crystal H.

Yelp
This is the OG location. The best crawfish in New Orleans. We finally got to eat at this restaurant after years of having their crawfish shipped to California. And it did not disappoint. We love both the original cajun and Viet flavors. Only 1 spicy level. Their crawfish and seafood is so fresh. They are very busy with constant line and sometimes, they are sold out of the crawfish. The gumbo was very peppery but good and has a lot of different toppings in there. Fried oyster and Bread pudding were also good. Their star is the crawfish though. Soo good! When you go to order at the cashier, be sure to get your drinks from the fridge first. You will have to wait about 30 mins if they are cooking a new batch. Indoor dining only.

Sokly C.

Yelp
I came back two days later and had the same experience. We are stuffed. This is definitely my go to spot when I come visit New Orleans.

Bruce N.

Yelp
Vacationing in New Orleans and my friends recommended this place for the crawfish. Got the Viet-Cajun flavor (Butter, Garlic, Cajun spices). The crawfish batch I got was on the smaller side, but the flavor was amazing. Also got the Oyster Po Boy and Roast Beef Po Boy. Both were pretty good. Two of the younger front staff guys were cordial. Even chatted with them for a bit, I believe his name was Andy. Great place!

Vincent L.

Yelp
Probably the best seafood place I ever had in New Orleans. I've been to Nola on and off in the last 10 years, and for the value, plus the variety of seafood, this place packs full of flavor. However, this may have a slight fusion in the mix, can deter guests who seems to stick to tradition. But to me, changes are sometimes for the good. And this is definitely is good

Georgina M.

Yelp
My first time ordering from here food taste was great portion was NOT at all what I was expecting for the price I had a fried crawfish poboy it was more bread then crawfish, call them and was put on hold.

Mary T.

Yelp
Crawfish was ok..it took a little while for the wait..but when they came out it was still a bit cold. They were understanding and remade us new ones.. but it shouldn't have happened. Fries were def recooked/reheated. Overly oily and hard. Did not taste good.

Nazh D.

Yelp
Came here for lunch while I was in town. I was soo happy I did because their seafood is delicious. We got 2 lbs of crawfish, 1lbs of shrimp with corn and sausage. We chose the vietnamese cajun flavor for the crawfish to try it out and did not dissapoint. It had heat to it which I really enjoyed, its different than regular cajun but definitely so good! Also, the size of the shrimp and crawfish were big! The staff here was also really nice too and helpful since it was our first time and want sure how to order. We also tried the bread pudding here which, honestly, not the best I've had but I mean, it is a seafood place. Their specialty is seafood lol. So come here order loads of shrimp and crawfish and enjoy! Cos you definitely will. Just be mindful that it is so good that there will be a wait. But good food is worth the wait.

Sharde S.

Yelp
Omg the food was delicious not too salty like most restaurants. Service was quick and easy. Will for sure be back.

Jan T.

Yelp
One of our favorite meals during our week in New Orleans. The Viet Cajun crawfish and Cajun Citrus shrimp were delicious. Nothing was over cooked. Crawfish ettouffee had a goopier consistency but a great buttery taste, and French fries were surprisingly delicious. Jalapeño poppers were ok. I would come back again. They get packed but the lines and service are pretty efficient.

Takia N.

Yelp
Experience top-notch seafood and service at a well-kept restaurant on the west bank. I will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Eric H.

Yelp
Be very careful! They changed the tips you signed. No service at all (no water, you buy your own). But I still sign a descent amount of tips. They changed it to a much higher amount. Probably because we look like "visitors" so would not care or argue it.

Bailey D.

Yelp
we visited for the first time and it was AMAZING! The prices were fair, the service was great and the food exceeded our expectations. we had high hope because of all the positive reviews online. It was so good! We had the fried crawfish PoBoy, Gumbo and shrimp boil with potatoes, sausage and corn. The restrooms and dining area were both very clean.

Allison K.

Yelp
If I could give this place six stars, I would. Big EZ seafood is by far the best food I had in New Orleans. When I think of southern hospitality, this place is it. All the servers were wonderful, but Thomas was absolutely amazing. He was so kind and really made us feel welcome. Thomas, if you're reading this, you a real one . Overall, the food was absolutely delicious. Other than the pictures posted, I also had their gumbo. Honestly, just from these three items, I can already tell that everything on their menu is delicious.

A D.

Yelp
Stopped by this location for a crawfish dinner on a Monday night, but unfortunately, the couple in front of me got the last 4 lbs of crawfish. I was dining in with a group so I went for Plan B, a fried basket with half catfish, half shrimp and fries. While I waited for my food, I tried a few crawfish, and easy peel shrimp (almost prawn size) from those in my group. The Cajun Citrus seasoning is delicious. My fried basket was tasty too. The breading was light, received about 8 shrimp and two slivers of catfish, and the sauce on the side was nice too. Pros: friendly service, make yourself at home atmosphere (grab drinks from the cooler cases along the wall) and pay at the end of meal Cons: I missed out on my own crawfish that night lol No complaints from my group. Someone treated me to my dinner but based on what was on the menu, it would've been about $22 (including a bottle of Barq's root beer). I'll be back! Note: they close at 8pm so running out of crawfish around 7pm was reasonable to me. People were standing in line up to 10minutes before closing so I know it's a neighborhood favorite.

Mallory W.

Yelp
Crawfish was fresh and the sauce was flavorful I sat and ate two pounds by myself on my visit! Very good and filling. Pictures are before && after lol.

Kieshan W.

Yelp
This has to be one of my favorite restaurants! I love their garlic butter sauce! Absolutely the best in New Orleans! The service is always friendly and welcoming! The only thing is I wish they had more space. Love the decor tho so New Orleans and Cajun!

Anna N.

Yelp
WOW. We came here from California to eat great crawfish and were bummed the first couple restaurants that we went to. The crawfish at other restaurants were lacking flavor (super bland). We opted to yelp/google search for asian seasoned crawfish and found this place. We took a lyft from the French Quarter to eat here and boy, it was so worth it! We got the crawfish bag for $37 which includes 3 lbs of crawfish, 3 potatoes, 2 corn and 1 sausage. It was plenty for us 2. We opted for the EZ blend sauce and it was delicious. The crawfish was so fresh and properly cooked. The whole meal was so good that we got 2 more meals to go. Definitely recommend!

Saray S.

Yelp
We purchased several items here, Po-Boys (catfish, shrimp, roast beef, hot sausage), onion strings, and a catfish plate with french fries and bread. The sandwiches were dry and skimpy on the dressings on tough, chewy bread that tasted stale. Then there was the what-the-hell-is-that "catfish" sliced thin to conceal the fact that it is NOT CATFISH but some other fish from who-the-hell-knows-where. Problem with your order. Expect them to make up a heap of excuses. Such as "the manager," who won't return your call, "is out at the store buying supplies," "the manager speaks broken English and doesn't feel comfortable talking to customers," or some other lame excuse. The food was crappy and not worth the $60. We took the loss and TRASHED the uneatable, poor quality what-ever-you-chose-to-call-it. Never, never, ever again. I don't know what dog food tastes like but I'm sure it's better than this place.

Cindy T.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious Vietnamese Cajun style crawfish! We knew when we were heading to New Orleans that we had to get some crawfish but wasn't sure which was the best. I asked some folks on social media and this seemed to be a top contender. We definitely were not disappointed! Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the nicest servers I have met in a long time. This is a order at the counter and they bring out your food kind of place. He was the only person in front serving and taking orders while he had a smile on the entire time we were there and even when it got busy. My fiancé even commented on how nice he was. We ended up getting several pounds of crawfish, gumbo, fried shrimp, and Cajun fries. Everything was delicious! The stand out was definitely the crawfish which was in the best sauce ever. We got the combination sauce that had everything and it was an explosion of flavor including spicy, sweet, and savory. You can also definitely tell that they use fresh crawfish because the meat was not mushy at all even for the smaller ones. The fried shrimp was perfectly crispy fried without being heavy. We also inhaled the Cajun fries that were super flavorful. The gumbo was comforting and had plenty of seafood. Definitely would recommend this place if you were looking for more than just your average Cajun crawfish and seafood! Will definitely have to come back next time we're in town!

Faith P.

Yelp
We came from out of town and went out of our way to come here for the crayfish, which is really reasonably priced per lb (keep in mind I'm from Texas so point of comparison may be off if you are a local here) We tried both Traditional and Viet Cajun and they were so great. The Viet Cajun is probably on the milder side if you have a moderate spice tolerance but it does build up over time so if you can't handle any spice maybe avoid this one. Also tried the Shrimp Po'Boy - fair sized shrimp and so yummy. Much better than others we had tried elsewhere. Service was also great. Highly recommend to anyone looking for Viet Cajun - it is worth the Uber over here if you are visiting.

Tina H.

Yelp
This is considered one of NOLA's favorite Asian style crawfish. Their set up is unique. We order our food first and then we pay after. There is also a big fridge of different drink selections that you can just walk up to and get one. I got the special one and it was delicious, but I wish there was a little bit more flavor. The sausage was not that yummy. We also ordered the the fried platter and I loved everything on it, from crawfish, shrimp to catfish. Overall I would come back to this place and highly recommend it. Make sure to come early though! This was my second time coming to this location because the last time, I cam around 1pm and the crawfish was already sold out!

Bebe I.

Yelp
Got the EZ blend shrimp with corn on the side and my husband got the garlic butter shrimp with muscles. The seafood tasted fresh and shrimps were big! I couldn't increase the spice level which was a downer. I wish there was more garlic in the whole thing but overall it was tasty. I thought it would be more Viet-Cajun as well but maybe I didn't order correctly? Overall decent for the pocket to and to fill you up with the delicacies of the sea.

Dan S.

Yelp
Love this place. Best crawfish in the city. Prices are very reasonable too. Can call ahead and pick up your order

Mandi M.

Yelp
Food was flavorful--nice and spicy, but not too spicy! We tried a variety of the seafood boils and they did not disappoint. The staff was also great! They were patient as we orders and didn't rush us out at closing time.

Han L.

Yelp
We really loved the flavor and the texture of the crawfish boil. We had the vietcajun flavor. The cold crab not my favorite. Next time I would like to try some shrimps and mussels.

Nina N.

Yelp
This is my go to crawfish restaurant!! They have 3 locations now, one the westbank and one in Kenner. The other on the westbank is called Mr. Crabhouse. Same menu, diff location. I love that this place has dine in, especially if you're too lazy to take it to go and you want to eat it fresh in the restaurant. I usually get crawfish here. My favorite is the Cali butter or Viet Cajun, I think they're the same thing. I also get the big ez blend which is Cali butter and lemon citrus in a bag. Their regular is tasty as well! If you want to opt out of a heart attack or future heart disease, I say go for the traditional. I know most people are against anything other than traditional crawfish, but if you're looking for something new, buttery and AMAZING, get that cali/Viet Cajun/butter garlic! Yumm! I've had their gumbo before and appetizers, nothing crazy but definitely good! Similar to your corner store gumbo but with a little more loving to it. If you're going to dine in and you don't want to get your fingers smelly, I would recommend you bring your own gloves. (I know it's not the most Nola thing to do, but if you got places to go, gloves are the way to go!) The staff are really nice and welcoming here. I can't wait to go to their Kenner location. The artwork and ambience in the restaurant is cool and vibrant. It's always a good time. They have ketchup and Mayo/ketchup in bottles for you to have on the side. I highly recommend!!! The only crawfish place I've been going to for the last few years. Can't beat it.
