Big Fish Market

The food was good. I wanted some fried whiting, and my wife wanted fried shrimp. I ordered a pound of whiting, which was chopped and fried, along with a 15-piece medium shrimp plate that came with one side. The fish had a nice crispy coating, and the shrimp had the same flavorful breading. We paid over $30 for our meal. The Big Fish is primarily a takeout restaurant. While the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is bland and unappealing. Parking is minimal but free. I’ll definitely be going back when I have a craving for fried lake trout, also known as whiting. #KeepGoingOAM

Food is consistently well seasoned and enjoyable. This time the hush puppies were a little doughy on the inside and the grilled trout was a little dry. But will certainly continue to support this business. The young man at the prepaid orders counter was calm, friendly and had great customer service skills.

Yaaaaasss. This is really good. The energy in this spot is on point. Everyone that was working was cool…kind and helpful. All of the customers were also cool and engaging. The food. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Very very good. Grilled salmon and garlic butter rice was super nice. The fried oysters and shrimp were also delicious. We will definitely be here again. Definitely the best fish we’ve had in awhile.

Great food and prices to purchase and cook yourself. Good pieces of seafood as well. One of my great places to go when I got a taste of something. As far as buying food from them I wasn't interested in that. It didn't smell good or look good

I always wait until my third visit to a particular eating establishment before I submit a review and BIG FISH has dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's in regards to professionalism and efficiency and of course taste. I have definitely found a new home for my seafood purchases. All my special requests have been fulfilled and the staff is friendly and professional and efficient. When they send you the initial response telling you what time your food will be ready they absolutely mean it and I just hope the people of Inglewood will treat these employees with the dignity and respect that they deserve because they are doing an outstanding job. Absolutely fire!!! So glad my family suggested this place!! It was sooo good I forgot to take pictures (soo not like me) and I went back twice while in town. Lol. Definitely my new fish and shrimp spot when I'm back and definitely taking lots of pictures. Oh yeah that cheesecake..babyyyyy🔥🔥🔥🔥 they have different flavors y'all. Overall damn good! I'd NEVER get fish from here again. A young lady came to buy fish for me and they charged 4x higher than anywhere else.! I tried to return it within the hour cause I didn't appreciate the smell either. He laughed at me and refused. He knew what he did, even before I complained he knew he overpriced the young lady argued about the smell. Keep in mind, the fish wasn't cooked or anything and they still refused to take it back.Im doing my best not say or wish anything evil but I am FURIOUS!!! I'm just gonna leave this one Gods doorstep!

I’ve grown up in Inglewood pretty much my entire life and still live here today. I don’t know, but for some reason this establishment has became distasteful. The customer service is rude. If you aren’t a regular customer and they know you by name. I placed an online order Everything paid for and all, all I had to do was go pick up. I arrived to the location and go to the “pick up” window. Which is basically a window that says “online orders pick up only”….I go there and the cashier yells “over here” and then proceeds to not even speak to me until 10 mins later. If there’s a “black owned” fish spot near you just support them instead. Because I’m pretty they’re not this rude to their “own kind”. Customer service is trash.

Ordered the Catfish Fried lunch. Super good. Recommend the French fries and their house sauce. Also had a great customer service as well.

Came across this place from a review on IG. So the next day my friend and I headed over since we've been craving some good catfish out here in Cali. Got there about 1pm on a Friday empty on the inside but a steady flow of customers coming to pick up their orders. I knew exactly what I wanted, I ordered the catfish lunch special with fries and red beans/rice. My fish could have been fried a little harder, fries and rbnrice were cool. Overall it's a decent option if I'm looking for catfish but still not the one. My search continues. Service was great. It's a togo only spot. Oh the garlic salmon looked pretty good I'll definitely go back to try that.

Customer Service is great. Clean. Price is cool. I had been wanting oysters for about 2 weeks so o got some form here yesterday for lunch (Friday 8/30) I checked reviews before going so I thought hey , give it a try. I did not like the fried oysters. Not one bit. Was barely cooked, , just falling apart when I pick it up to take a bite. Definitely disappointed. I gave 3 stars because I did enjoy the potato salad. The food was hot and fresh. The online ordering is fantastic. The parking is horrible, the catfish was so bland it was terrible. I was really cooking forward to loving this place. It looks great, but flavor wise for the catfish was a hard NO for me. I didn't get the homemade tartar sauce as told, and that was a bummer as well.

My first time trying this spot and I'm already a fan. Not only are they very friendly but I was overcharged (unbeknownst to me) and the guy chased me down to my car to tell me. I really appreciate the honesty because I had no idea. And when I say overcharged, it's was by over $20! I appreciate it a lot. As for the food, I love that you can get fried or grilled fish. I ordered the grilled salmon and shrimp over rice. My only fault is that it was supposed to have garlic butter and it seems like they were a little stingy with it but other than that, delicious. I also love the Hawaiian garlic rolls. Other people in my house ordered the fried fish and were happy with their orders.

I've passed this fish market on numerous occasions over the years. I recently saw a social media food reviewer come here so I decided to try for myself. They offer a reward program which I thought was a plus, until I went to order through their app and did not find what I was craving. I had to call the location and inquire if they had a catfish steak dinner combo. I opted to go order in person. I ordered, stepped to the side to pay, and had to shake my head because the first payment option that was mentioned when asked how I was going to pay was EBT. NO! it will be cash. They ask for you to wait outside until your number is called since the inside is not very spacious. I received my food, it stayed hot until I got back home. The fish was ok, the coating is not cornmeal. I would say the best part was the lettuce and tomato side (salad) minus the whole iceberg center part! The potato salad was not bad either, since they don't have crinkle cut fries. Would I give them another try? Perhaps.

This fish is fantastic. I heard about it from someone I follow on ig, so I ordered in 2 separate times for delivery, and it was timely and warm. So one day I was in the area and had a taste for it again and by surprised it still was good and quickly made . I had the red snapper dinner and shrimps. Oh yeah, you have an option if you want it grilled.

I absolutely did not like this fish at all. I can't believe their reviews are so high. In the past, yes this fish place was great. I was recently reminded of this place after seeing it on LAtryguy. So I ordered the 4pc fish and shrimp with butter rice. My fish and shrimp were fried to a crisp. I mean I took a bite and it just crumbled to pieces. It was extremely burnt and The rice was so mushy and overcooked. Ughhhhh I was starving that day and I was so pissed. Never again!

Love this place. Fresh wild caught fish. My favorite is fried salmon, cut into nuggets. Two garlic rolls & a cup of pickles. Bomb Great customer service. Oh, they take EBT as well.

Pretty fast and most importantly their establishment is clean , fish look really clean and food is good . They accept EBT and no you don't need the hot food plan or homeless plan. They answer the phone quickly and have good customer service. They were helpful and patient.

The fish was good but pay attention to your receipt. I am not a fan of them adding an additional 5% fee to your order. It was not disclosed anywhere that I would be charged an additional 5%.

Fire Shrimp & Fish, It's not worth it to buy by yourself this place will cook it for you as well so it's a lil more expensive. It's very tasty though & they had banana pudding. It was BOMB!

My favorite fried fish spot, I order the salmon salad with the garlic bread or I get the fried catfish dinner, good eatings

food ! 01/02/2025 i ordered oysters they gave me spoil fried oysters so i brought them back told them i did not like them that they were spoiled the lady told me she couldnt refund me for the spoil oysters that they gave me but tried to give me 20 % percent off on a next purchase & the sad part is i come here faithfully and never had a problem

The the grilled shrimp with garlic rice. The coating on the catfish was seasoned well and crunchy.

I was waiting on my client at SoFi on my limo and got hungry. Ordered food here via yelp app. There is no need to go to San Pedro fish market or Redondo beach pier come here get your seafood fix. Food was amazing.

I was really hoping that I had a better experience. I was really craving fried fish one night. The food was just Okay. The fish didn't wow me off my feet.

The fried catfish fillets and fries are legit to die for! I come here occasionally when I'm off work too tired to cook- and this place SLAPS! You can't eat inside so I HIGHLY SUGGEST placing order over the phone because it gets PACKED! They have parking on site, so that's convenient. One of my favorite places in LA for fried fish

They food is amazing, I don't eat everyones fish but theirs is actually great and that garlic butter sauce is every thing for that rice and them crab legs. Go get you some seriously

Their fish tastes good and fresh. The only downside is parking and they prefer you wait outside once you place your order. Very small inside with no seating available if you want to eat there. For the prices and wait time, accommodations should be made to allow customers to eat and enjoy their food inside.

Love their fish, shrimp, crab legs , hush puppies, salads, and garlic rice. I do not like their fries and other sides. They need a little more fine tuning. The service is fast past most of the time because it is crowded. This is a to go or pick up type of establishment. They take your name or give you a number and call it over a PA system because you have to wait outside or in your car. This is to keep the store free and clear of congestion.

If you haven't checked out Big Fish Market for their Fried Fish than you don't know what you are missing! For $11.79 lunch special I got 2 piece fish & Shrimp. I chose Filet of sole so they actually gave me 3 pieces. It comes with bread roll and 1 side, I got the Macaroni Salad. Every thing was freshly breaded, than fried fresh. They took the frisbee and shrimp from the display and fried it up. The seafood was well seasoned and the coating was thin and crispy. The staff was so friendly and inviting, the food came out quick. There was no seating so it's a grab and go but the inside was very clean and well kept up. There was plenty of parking so that was a plus. My only gripe is their condiments were not good. They gave you Tarter Sauce from unrefrigerated packets,. The Hotsauce was a salsa hotsauce. I'd prefer regular Louisiana Style hot sauce. The cocktail sauce was fine. This is why i have a 4 star. If they paid attention to the sauces and maybe add a Lemon wedge then totally would give them 5 stars. Anywho, go check out Big Fish Market and show them some love! #SupportLocalBusiness

The location isn't the most appealing and you may question yourself but I was satisfied with my order. Filet sole and jumbo shrimp Fresh and slightly seasoned if you like more ask for extra seasoning. I def recommend if you're in the area to give it a try.

I decided to order here today due to the excellent reviews, and it was very mediocre. The fish & shrimp lack seasoning and my portion was over cooked. The tartar sauce is not freshly made, it's provided in little packages. The wait was very long on this hot day. I was not impressed at all with my food and feel like I waste my money plus time.

The food here is always good. I get anything grilled and it's flavorful and delicious. The wait isn't long but it's faster if you call it in and pick it up. The parking is a bit minimal as it is in a little strip mall . Service is always professional and easy. The have a variety of seafood options from fish to oysters and everything in between lol. Another one of my go to spots

Omg everything was fireee! I ordered extra garlic butter and squeezed the lemon on the fish and dipped the crab in the garlic butter!! It went tf crazy!! I'll be back !!! Btw this is half pound of snow crab ,salmon shrimp and rice! I called at 1pm and ordered my food for pick up at 2:15 ..it was ready on time. ALWAYS CALL AHEAD, it's quicker. If you order on their website, you get discounted prices as opposed to delivery services like UberEats and you can get coupons. It's better than waiting in line and waiting for you number, but you can't order by the pound online. You can order by the pound in person or on the phone.

Live big fish. Especially the grilled salmon. I wish I lived closer. I always order delivery, which is expensive, but I'm never in the area for any reason.

Everything is always fresh. They are super busy majority of the time, I recommend calling ahead if you can. I always get fish and shrimp with fries as my side.y relatives love their hush puppies. Next time I go in I'll probably try their garlic salmon over rice. It's stop worth while.

The customer service at this restaurant is superb. I usually call in and order but the lines are always busy. They have a new ordering site which I use recently and I ordered my item incorrectly. Once I got my food, I realized the mistake and the restaurant fix it for me no charge, food is great. Service is better!

Yea they 4 stars UNTIL I GO BACK. I wouldn't say it made me full but that's cause it was white rice, my most hated side.... anywho I ordered two of the same plates, extra garlic butter, 3 drinks. $48... but like I said, I'm going back cause that was DEFINITELY WORTH IT. Fire man.

Wanted have a nice fish fry for dinner and this restaurant came up. I'm very glad it did because the food was delish! We had fried oysters and catfish it was great.

The catfish was very oily, maybe not completely cooked, not sure. The red beans and rice were hard and flavorless. The service was ok. I'll certainly try something different on my next visit.

Best fish & shrimp fry! Im not really a fan of fish but their red snapper is so GOOD! Not to mention their fried shrimp is BOMB. Crab legs with extra butter sauce are great too! I will say the rice is ok not my first choice as a side. I usually don't call in my order, most i've waited was around 30 minutes on a busy day. Personally I think that is pretty fast compared to others.. Parking can be limited when it's busy, but not hard to find. There is no indoor seating, so be prepared to eat in your car or take home.

Beware. When I called on the phone they told me scallops were $18.99 per pound. When I got there they told me they were $25.99 per pound. The fellow weighed them out and it came out just under half a pound. I asked for six scallops. When I went to pay the bill it was $18. I said that doesn't sound right. Here is my home scale with a photograph of the actual bill. Even at $25.99, it should've only cost about $12. Beware

While with my daughter running errands earlier in the day, she mentioned how she heard that this fish market has good food. I let her know that a few years ago, I went to order fish, but it was late, and they were about to close; they weren't accepting any more orders. I forgot about the place and never went back. My daughter suggested we try it later on today, so we did. The place is neat and clean and the employees are very friendly. My food was just OKAY; I ordered 4 catfish tails with plans to do myself a green salad once I got home. My daughter ordered fried catfish fillets and shrimp with rice. Our food came out nice and hot. Once I got home and prepared to eat, the fish lacked flavor, and seasoning was scant! I think I'll wait a while before I try them again; I'll ask for extra seasoning and see if that works. Also, our orders came with no hot sauce, ketchup, or tarter sauce. I've never been to a fish market that gave no condiments with their fish! I gotta remember to ask for that as well; next time

Great fresh fish options. Love the energy in this place. You know it's good when you see all kinds of people come in to order. Only thing is the bread rolls were really dry but the focus of this place is the fish! And they truly excel.

Their food tastes good. They call your number over a loud speaker and it's yours. I gave it 4 stars because it needs to come with a vegetable. The rice alone felt like too much and I felt guilty after 2 unhealthy sides. I did ask if they had vegetables and I was offered lettuce and tomatoes

Ordered the seamen plate #2 with Red Snapper Hush puppies and fries. The shrimp was a good quality and the fried snapper was okay. However the Hush puppies, which came with 6, more like 4, 2 were half of 1 and wasn't even a ball. It was over cooked, dry, and no flavor. The oyster taste like it was full of batter in between the oysters. It was nasty!
