Houston’s Best Antone’s Famous Po’ Boys Are Coming to Austin | Eater Austin

"This record shop and gift store located inside the downtown music venue will sell the Houston po' boy company's sandwiches alongside the venue's bar offerings, allowing customers who are not concert attendees to purchase the food during the venue's operating hours." - Nadia Chaudhury

Best collection of cool vinyl and gifts and the staff have deep musical knowledge of what they are selling. It’s an entire musical experience on its own paired with the sweet sounds of Antone’s! A real gem and well run establishment, highly recommend! Don’t miss The Last Real Texas Blues Album a must buy for the blues lover that thought they heard it all!

Awesome venue. Great bands and different genres. Tickets are easy to get online. They have sandwiches for a quick snack.

Hello Austin, 🙋🏽‍♂️🇺🇸 I apologize for being MIA. I continue living with PTSD, insomnia, & yes.. Bi-Polar Depression. So please forgive me for the missed reviews or questions about a place I've been or walked past. I appreciate everyone who understands. 🙏🏽 So....this is a record store I stumbled across walking. I never walk the same path & will randomly take a turn, or go straight, etc. I was going past Big Henry's & the music was not only older... the young lady playing the music...was super young. I turned my music off & it was the most powerful, uplifting 1/2 hr I've experienced in a music store. Though I take responsibility for how ("I Feel"), it was the continued trauma I suffered from the ugly, aggressive behavior of the building manager... where I live that had me down for 2 weeks. Again! Which is why I can't remember the name of this Super Star of A Worker... that brought me into this jewl of a find. Tomorrow, she should be working, & I'll update with her name. It's beautiful & unique & starts with an S. Lol...😳😳🫣🫣🫠🫠 I am better & walking again. Thanks, Big Henry's Vinyl & Gifts Good & Love To The People Of Austin TX! 🫂❤️ PS: a few pictures from my walks

A must see in downtown Austin with a great selection of used soul, funk, jazz & gospel albums (many of which are rare originals)

Wow this is a really hip place. I could spend hours in here. Looking at who played on all these albums. The Greats. Real vinyl. If you ever come to town, please hang out in here for a half an hour do some listening look at back of the albums that list who played with who.

Early 2025: I'm not really why this shows up as Big Henry vinyl and gifts, I know that there's a gift shop inside Antone's, But every time I go to Antone's they ask me to review this place. I guess the gift shop is cool. But really it's about Antone's.... There is consistently excellent music here. You can always count on them. Booking really great shows. I don't think I've ever heard not great music here. It's rarely free and there's usually a cover, but sometimes there are deals like South by Southwest, etc. always worth it. On a negative note: Their beers and drinks are about a dollar per average, more than most places in town. That's kind of lame, but you don't feel it so hard because the music is usually wonderful.

Noah remembered I had been searching for Bobby Bland vinyls during several past visits and brought some out for me during my most recent visit

Great curated collection of gems and rare to find vinyls. All original press. The service was outstanding as well.

Yelp
I dig this little shop. It's the place to go if you're looking for something rare on vinyl that you might not be able to get anywhere else. They also sell merch like hoodies, shirts, etc. for Antone's. If you're going to a show that hasn't sold out, you can buy tickets here and also pick up tickets you've purchased as well. I am referring to shows at Antone's.

Yelp
If you're looking for a specific original pressing of a classic title, this might be the best place for you to find that. Otherwise you probably won't find much here. The selection is just really small and the prices are way to high. You'd really have to want that specific pressing of that specific title to pay that kind of money. If you're looking for random good music at reasonable prices, maybe not your place. I have half the titles, and wish I could get half what they're asking for my copies..

Yelp
We wandered into Big Henry's to see if there was any cool vinyl to buy our nephew and holy cow - there were so many unique and collectible vinyls, it was hard to limit our selection to just a couple. We walked out with an original copy of Prince's 1999 and Stevie Ray Vagahan's Texas Flood but I could have easily bought a dozen more. Isaac Hayes, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, too many to list. If you like the blues, Louisiana Cajan, or are simply looking for collectible items associated with Antoine's - this is the place. And while I didn't catch her name - the woman managing the store was very knowledgeable, super friendly, and exactly why you should visit Big Henry's - she loves music just as much. Great hidden gem!!

Yelp
This appears to be a store supplied with the inventory of a previous "collector". It's mostly old copies of records no one wants. If you are looking for highly pressed no-name R&B from the 70s and 80s, this is your spot. If you want ANYTHING else, don't bother.

Yelp
Big Henry's has a relatively small, but extraordinarily great selection of vinyl. The friendly woman running the shop said they "only sell good records"--a big claim, but this shop delivers. I'd say their LPs are about 20% new pressings of classic Soul and Blues records and 80% vintage vinyl. In addition to having amazingly clean originals of some classics (with a focus on Texas and Louisiana music), I found pristine copies of some rarities you hardly ever see on Ebay. Prices are very reasonable and customer service was good. They'll play any record you'd like to preview over a really nice system. Not a single record I looked at was in bad shape. No disappointments! They have a cool selection of sealed Blues and Soul cassettes for cheap too. They seem to get regular shipments of vintage LPs, so I will be back again soon.
