"The self-described ”nicest jerks in Vegas” have a second location on the way. Big Jerk plans to expand its Caribbean flavors to 2800 W. Sahara Ave., opening in early 2021. Former strong safety for the Denver Broncos Quinton Carter and his friend Tramaine Stephens originally opened their Jamaican restaurant at the southeast’s Silverado Crossing retail center, close to the intersection of Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Bermuda Road, in 2018. The venture started as a food truck in 2017. The restaurant offers jerk chicken and jerk on wings as well as pork ribs, plantains, yucca fries, curry shrimp, and Caribbean stew. Traditional ackee and saltfish, oxtail, and curry goat make the menu, along with family meals with a whole chicken, optional ribs, and sides and plantains. Wash it down with pineapple ginger, a favorite drink at the restaurant. In Silverado Ranch, the restaurant offers a patio, but the new location on the westside includes a full bar." - Susan Stapleton
