Ambience: The place is easily accessible from either the side street or Irving with an ample parking lot and great signage so you can't miss it. The baseball theme is used for the decor throughout the exterior and interior with grand wallpaper to the smallest details. There was only one family there when we arrived on a Sunday at lunch time. During our meal, a few people did come to order at the counter, but I was surprised how quiet the place was. Maybe when there's a big game, more people come since there are several nice TV screens showing sports.
Service: It's order at the counter, but the service is excellent. We started staring at the menu overhead and right away, a cheerful employee offered us paper menus which was so much easier. We went away a free paces to review the extensive menu and found ourselves in the bar area so I took a pic of the bar specials. When another employee saw us there, she came over right away to serve us drinks. We weren't getting alcohol but I was impressed at how helpful everyone was. When we ordered , the employee let me know right away that my meal would take 20 mins. We weren't in a rush but were happy to be forewarned. She offered to bring out the salads right away to stave off some hunger. And although it was order at the counter, they brought the food to our table on beautiful bowls with reusable flatware.
Food: neither of us were in the mood for a sandwich unfortunately. I suspect their burgers are the main star. But my sister ordered the kebabs and I got the half chicken. Both came with salads and I was quite impressed with them. My Caesar had homemade large bread crumbs that were crunchy and good if not overly seasoned with lots of freshly shaved Parmesan. The Greek salad was loaded with veggies including bell pepper, onions, olives, and even an anchovy!
Unfortunately, neither of us were as impressed with our meals. Good but not 100%. The garlic bread was the best part which was flavorful with a lovely crunch and chew. Not overly garlicky but just a good flavor overall. Not too dry nor greasy at all. The coleslaw was also good in a standard sort of way. Creamy and crunchy. A refreshing contrast. However, I found my half chicken a bit dry. Not terrible just nothing to rave about. The bbq was poured on top not baked with it and was quite sweet without any depth or interest. So while it might have added some moistness, I pushed it off the chicken because it was too sweet for me. The rice was slightly firm and I would have preferred it cooked a bit more. It reminded me of Spanish rice which I happen to not enjoy. My sister's chicken kebabs were delightfully spiced but also far too oily so her bread was soggy from sitting on the oil. I dipped my dry chicken in the oil pooling on her plate which definitely enhanced my meal! Her potato wedges were drowning in oil which wasn't flavorful like that of the kebabs.
I'd come again to try the sandwiches but wouldn't get the kebabs or the half chicken again.
