"Owner Mike Chestnut, or “Big Mike,” has a big personality and defines Southern hospitality in his place by serving up home-cooked soul food meat-and-three plates that locals love. Choose meats from fried chicken to fried livers and gizzards and sides such as collards, candied yams, and fried okra." - Ashley Daniels

Visited while on vacation and this food was absolutely delicious ‼️‼️ The wait time was absolutely absurd but the food was well worth it! Have you ever had Collard Green dip??? It's fantastic!!! The fried whiting, candied yams and potato salad was outstanding!!! The portions could definitely be bigger for what they charge and unfortunately I was charged for 2 peach cobblers that I never received. Aside from that I highly recommend this place!! Go early because the wait is long and they get crowded!

Google
The food was amazing! I don't know how they made my grandma's potato salad, but the first bite took me back 20 years! The fish was perfect, the cabbage was delicious. The cobbler and the cheesecake! We have no words! The best food we had in Myrtle Beach!

Google
Amazing southern food! My husband and I wanted to try many southern delicacies on our visit to Myrtle Beach and this restaurant had them all. We tried the veggie plates where you can pick 4 sides each served with cornbread. We also tried hush puppies, collard green dip and peach cobbler. All the dishes tasted homely and the servers were very friendly too. We had to wait for about 5 minutes before we got a seat on a weekday evening, showing the demand this restaurant has amongst locals! There is limited parking right outside and a bigger parking lot on the opposite side of the road.

My husband and I were in town on vacation and decided to come to Big Mike's Soul Food. We had a coupon for a free dessert that was in the visitor's guide. When I tell you this was just the spot for us! The service was good, food was fresh and cooked just right. The owner was leaving when we arrived but he greeted guests and thanked them for coming in. It's always hard to select a restaurant when on vacation because you never know how the food or service will be. This time was a win! If you are in town I recommend trying Big Mike's Soul Food, you won't be disappointed.

Google
I had an amazing experience at Big Mike’s Soul Food! From the moment we walked in, our server was absolutely fantastic—so helpful and welcoming, with a bright smile that made us feel right at home. We placed our order, and to be honest, I wasn’t expecting much since Myrtle Beach doesn’t always have the best reputation for food. But wow—this place was a pleasant surprise! The chicken was incredibly juicy, the collard greens were perfectly seasoned, and to top it all off, we had beignets that were to die for! (Pro tip: ask for extra sugar.) If you’re in Myrtle Beach and looking for delicious, comforting soul food, Big Mike’s is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be back.

Google
The service was very good. Yes I would go back again to eat. I would also tell other to go and visit if they are look for some good soul food. The food was very good fresh cooked and hot off the stove. If your in Myrtle Beach South Carolina be sure to stop by Big Mike's Soul Food.

Google
They have to-go and dine-in. There was 1 young man getting drinks and 1 young lady getting food orders. I don't know if someone called out but even though we waited a long time to be seated the food was worth it. The young lady did her best but Big Mike needs a bigger place and more help. I'm definitely going back next time I'm in Myrtle Beach.

Google
5 all the way across the board no complaints, the waitress came back trying to fill our drinks I told her to leave me alone.... She replied it's my job.. 😂😂😂 ma'am the food is too good. I think I'm going to get some dessert to go. But aye if ur ever in the area so by and check it yourself u won't be disappointed, the waitress who served me name is Kimar pronounced ka-mari

Yelp
The food is absolutely amazing here! Don't show up very hungry because there will be a wait. I ordered my food online as a pick up order and Wood 10 out of 10. Recommend doing this anytime you want to eat here. The food was everything. I hoped it would be! Seasoned to perfection and extremely delicious. Was even good reheated the second day. I went all in and got catfish, shrimp, and a bunch of sides. Mac & cheese, cabbage, collard greens, yams. It made me want this for Thanksgiving!

N S.

Yelp
Well, we tried! Not sure what happened since the last time we came and had a great experience and meal, but Big Mike's was a disappointment this go' round. I ordered fried catfish, only to receive catfish "nuggets", full of fat and skin. I hate nuggets and never would've ordered them had "nuggets" been anywhere on the menu. It is not! My husband ordered "chopped sirloin" only to receive a hamburger patty with gravy. Not sure what we should've expected, so we take responsibility for that one, but the catfish was misrepresented. Anyway, we both ordered corn bread, but only one of us received it. Of course, we didn't realize until we were almost home. All that to say, perhaps we caught them on a bad night, but this was not Big Mike's finest hour.

Yelp
I came here three time just for the peach cobbler. It is so good I recommend it. Also, the hushpuppies here are amazing. When you come here it always packed and if you making an order here you have to place it outside and it can take some time. They have online ordering and pick it up inside. Most of the staff are super nice. Also get some sweet tea while you wait it delicious. Don't for get to get the peach cobbler.

Felicia H.

Yelp
Found this spot on yelp while vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Located just off the strip. There was a line, and I soon discovered food is cooked to order, so if you're in a hurry, or your blood sugar is low, or you're starving, you may want to go somewhere else and come back when you have time. I ordered a pork chop sandwich, a side of candied yams, and peach cobbler. Sandwich comes with 2 perfectly seasoned bone-in chops and 2 slices of bread. Candied yams weren't as soft as I like but they were good. The peach cobbler was EVERYTHING!!! Sooooo good!!! I will definitely be back!

Alicia W.

Yelp
Big Mike's was a nice experience. The inside is small but it may be worth it just to eat the food hot. I had Catfish nuggets, macaroni, and collard greens. I enjoyed everything except the macaroni it wasn't good. Overall it was a good experience. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in Myrtle Beach. Service was also good and friendly. Very laid back hanging at family's house type vibe.

RervFranke D.

Yelp
Great food, friendly service, wonderful atmosphere. Excellent big plates, delicious food and the beignets were amazing.

Jordan G.

Yelp
I recently visited Big Mike's Soul Food Restaurant, which has high ratings on Yelp, but my experience was less than stellar. I ordered the Baked BBQ chicken with cabbage, mac and cheese, and yams. The chicken was a little overcooked, making it less enjoyable. The mac and cheese was hard and not as creamy as I prefer. The yams were overly mushy, lacking the texture I expected. Additionally, the service left much to be desired. The staff were rude and pushy, which really put a damper on the meal. A big dose of courtesy and kindness would go a long way in improving the overall experience. Overall, while Big Mike's has a strong reputation, my visit was disappointing. I hope they can address these issues to better live up to there reputation.

JaNese B.

Yelp
Visited this place while on vacation. I had high hopes for this place . The menu had all my favorites and I knew I was down South so I was expecting magic. It was just okay. They gave me alot of food and it was hot!!! But my wings were super small. The Mac and cheese and the rice and gravy were okay. The potato salad was the best thing on my plate. I don't know if I would go back.

Hannah P.

Yelp
soul food done right! authentic food and authentic service. If i had to rank every restaurant in myrtle beach Big Mike's would definitely make top 3. Do expect to wait for seating or your food however, the food 100% makes up for it.

Brenda H.

Yelp
The wait and recommendation was very deceiving. My order was the Big Mike Special: Collard and Mustard Greens along with Mac & Cheese. The Mac was missing a large portion of Cheese, I found the Greens too be Salty, my one meat which was Fried Pork Chops was okay nothing about this meal is worth returning or recommending. The meal was to go but the Ambiance isn't worth mentioning, did go inside otherwise I wouldn't mention it. People find another Soul Food place this isn't it

James Anthony V.

Yelp
The food was Seating was a wait. The sign in sheet was not attended to. Miss communication between check-in person & food prepper The table cleaner, older gentleman, seemed too chill & and relaxed, which made the waiting time longer. Once we were seated, our waitress Latoya was awesome. Our food came out quick.

Marlo T.

Yelp
Food Is Great. Lots of flavor. Prices are AWESOME This will always be a stop when we come this way. The restaurant itself needs improvement but the food itself will make you forget about lack of curb appeal and the lack of updates inside.

Janet P.

Yelp
What a delicious treat to eat at Big Mike's Soul Food. My sister was in visiting from Brooklyn and eating at Big Mike's Soul food was a priority on her list. Well it did not disappoint! The fried chicken was delicious, the fried catfish with the sweet potatoes was so good and the fish basket again was delicious as well. The service was prompt and friendly. The ambiance was casual - you sit yourself. We had to wait a little for a seat but it was worth it!

S. Denise R.

Yelp
While on vacation, I found this Soul Food restaurant called Big Mike's in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We arrived at the establishment and was seated within five minutes. Perfect! We were brought silverware and a menu to the table. Perfect! But for the next 25 minutes we sat and watch two waitresses, wait on four tables and ignored ours. Continue to look at us and continue to NOT service us. Terrible customer service, terrible. Terrible. Terrible customer service never again!!! You try to support Local businesses but then to be treated like you are invisible is not good. Thank you for showing me how you treat customers. I refuse to spend my money when I have to beg someone to serve me. Big Mike, you might want to reconsider your wait staff and get someone who doesn't mind serving all of the public. I felt discriminated against my own.

Shawn P.

Yelp
Fried pork chop , cabbage, baked Mac n cheese, and corn bread. Everything was great super fast and great service !

Barbara M.

Yelp
The food is delicious the service was great. This is a must if your in the Myrtle beach area.

Katrina F.

Yelp
Food was deliciously seasoned and cooked to perfection with the exception of the chicken gizzards, it was not cleaned well (iykyk) and overcooked. The place is very small and dated; you can tell is popular because the carry out line was long. They offer daily specials in addition to their regular menu. Very small dinning room. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food when we were told it was 35-45 minutes wait. Once we got the text the food was ready, we waited an extra 12 minutes for our 7 meals to be bagged. I would come again when in town but would order ahead of time.

Michael W.

Yelp
The service was superb, the food was outstanding! Just mad I wait so long to finally eat here. I will be back soon and return many times.

Whitley S.

Yelp
Was just ok.... Food was ok - I've had better soul food. The menu has a lot of options and they have daily specials and features. I got the smaller meal option; I chose collard greens, Mac and cheese, and fried whiting fish. I wish they would have put more than one piece of fish on my plate. The meal was satisfactory though. Other people I was with had the mustard greens and said they were way better than the collards. The service was just ok. Very small space. We went on a non busy day. They have beer and wine for alcohol options. It's the only soul food spot in the general area, so I think that's why it gets a lot of customers. If I'm ever in Myrtle Beach again, I'll try other menu items.

Jake L.

Yelp
Food was amazing, if you want legit soul food this is the place. They are very busy so the service was little bit slow but service was friendly, they are a little bit understaffed and we understand. The seafood platter was phenomenal, the shrimp was delicious! Fried chicken was great too! If you avoid the peak time it will be a great experience!

Kim G.

Yelp
We are here from oot and wanted to try some soul food. The parking lot is small and the restaurant is pretty small also, but I liked the character and set up of it. We were able to be seated quickly. We ordered Croissant Beignets , mozzarella sticks chicken, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, potato salad, fried okra, ribs, chicken breast and waffles. Our waiter was cool, she never really smiled but I did over hear her say she's not supposed to be at work., no big deal but she did her job. The chicken meals come with two legs or a thigh. Or two wings or breast. I don't like that bc usually wherever you go, you get two pieces of chicken. We got two legs, 2 wings. The legs were good, it came out hot, lightly seasoned but still good. The size of the legs were normal, not huge plumped legs. Our wing plate had three instead of two, nice surprising extra! I would get the chicken again. The chicken breast (tender) w/ waffles were over cooked and thick breast. Waffles were good. so I'll list the sides and rate 1-5accordingly; Potatoe salad- Good 3.5 didn't taste homemade but good regardless. Sweet potatoes- OK 2.9, I wouldn't order them again. They were huge and flavor was not rich enough for me. Mac n cheese- Cool (nothing to brag about) 3.0 it was seasoned well and light not creamy which I prefer. Fried Okra- Good! 4 not greasy or soggy. Mash potato - Really Good! 5 Best thing in our plates! Cornbread muffin- Really Good! 5 reminded me of my gma cornbread when we wanted sweet cornbread! Koolaid- Good 4.5-reminds me of my childhood very sweet but great! Ribs- Not for me 2- not that moist a lot of chewing. Not memorable at all. Croissant Beignets - Really Good! 5 Mozzarella sticks- Good 3.9 Overall I give this place a 3.5 and yes I'd come back get the chicken and try the other sides.

Yelp
Big Mikes never disappoints. We found this place a few years ago and now it's a must stop on our annual visit to Myrtle Beach. The servers here are always welcoming and friendly. They seem to really enjoy doing what they're doing. This place is casual and down home, just like the food. You'll find locals dressed from white and blue collar jobs all sitting right next to one another, with the knowing tourists sprinkled in. We have not had anything bad on the menu. We've tried the fried chicken (!), the meatloaf, baked chicken... But the stars of the show for us is the sides!!! Great mac-n-cheese, limas, okra, pintos, field peas, green beans, cornbread, hush puppies, and on and on! Until next time, we'll be dreaming of this "Soul Food the was your Momma made it".

Matthew T.

Yelp
Big Mike's offers a no-frills experience with great food that comes out fast, flavorful and hot! Small parking lot, courteous service and a great menu of variety. You can eat soul food like seafood, chicken or meatloaf, so you should have something for everyone in your group who would choose to eat here. The shrimp and grits was such a big plate that my wife and I ate leftovers for a second meal the next day in our condo.

Heather A.

Yelp
Best soul food around! I should've taken a photo our meals but we dug right in when everything arrived! Highly recommend this spot and a tip- get there before 5:00 so you can secure a table without a wait! Oh, and don't forget to get a peach cobbler to go since you'll be too stuffed to eat it there!

Sarah P.

Yelp
I'm so happy I don't live anywhere close to this place- I would weigh alot more. We came here while on vacation in myrtle Beach. Let's just say this is the absolute best soul food I have ever had in my entire life. Ambiance- everything is old. Tables are old, chairs and old, tablecloths are old. This actually got me excited. Food is served on plastic plates. The waitress was so nice, helped us pick the best items and even suggested we scale back because we were ordering so much food for only 2 people. Welp.. we didn't scale back. We ordered chicken wings, Mac and cheese, potato salad, collards, candied yams, drinks, dessert... Everything was exactly as it should be. Perfectly seasoned and delicious. I couldn't shovel it into my mouth fast enough. This restaurant is the only reason I know for sure I will be going back to myrtle beach.

Kathy S.

Yelp
We arrived to a line to get a table but was informed that if you order at the window you can take it to go. There were two picnic tables that we were able to eat at. The food took about 30 minutes but we were on the tail end of the lunch rush. It was worth the wait! I had the shrimp and grits. It was very tasty. My husband got the shrimp basket and said it was the best fried shrimp he's had in a long time. He subbed the fries for collard greens and they were delicious as well. I got a corn muffin with my shrimp and grits and it was light and fluffy and very delicious. It did not even need any butter. I would recommend this place for a good and affordable meal.

Nicholas G.

Yelp
This place is just awesome. It's all about the food here. No fancy tables or linens or fluffy chairs. These guys doubled down on flavor and cuisine. We loved it. My son (10 yo) ate his whole plate (fried pork chop). My daughter absolutely loved her macaroni and cheese. I cannot speak high enough about their seafood boil. It's priced seasonally, and it's big enough for two (I shared with my eldest whose 20yo). My wife got their shrimp boil (also highly recommended). Prices are fair... the seafood boil was the priciest at $45. As I wrote above, it's BIG. If you share it, it's like $22.50 per person, which isn't too bad in our opinion for the amount of crab and shrimp. This place isn't a secret... the people just kept coming in. Lots of to go orders. The dinning area isn't anything special, but it was full the whole night. I think you'll love this place. Five stars for friendly service and ***AMAZING FOOD***. Awesome Restaurant. We really loved our food and time here.

Caleb M.

Yelp
Was in the mood for some soul and saw this place wasn't far. Decided to go here instead of Magnolia's. Big Mike's is directly behind a Shell gas station with very limited parking. The time which I arrived was "too close to closing time" so I had to order takeout only...it was 1.5 hours before closing mind you. The ambiance is very old school when walking in. Would say everything is preserved like the original decour, seating, etc. of restaurant ripes and all, which was nice to see. Spoke to the lady at cash register who sidebar was handed some special fruit punch by a colleague which apparently was real tart since made a face and indicated it was (since was considering to get that as my drink). After that, I went briefly over the menu to see what's the go-to. She steered me clear of the gizzards lol so I decided on playing it safe with the fried chicken meal *because it's really hard to mess up some fried chicken. She took my number had me go outside (since again they were in the process of closing 1.5 hours before) and would get a text when food was ready and the pickup window outside. 15 minutes later got my food. It was a generous helping. Albeit the mac n cheese had a nice flavor, like it more nestled together...they didn't use eggs to bundle noodles together when baking it. The sweet potatoes were from a can (albeit had great flavor to it) while the collards definitely tasted homemade. Chicken could've stayed in fryer a few more minutes. Also, should've gone with peach cobbler opposed to beignets (the lady at the register suggested it opposed to cobbler...the cynic in me believes since they were much more expensive that the cobbler). Cornbread muffin, ok.

Allen K.

Yelp
I was excited to try big mike's but I have to admit my excitement turned into frustration. I ordered pork chops, yams, cabbage and corn bread. Pork chops were decent the yams were from a can. The cabbage was watered down and wasn't seasoned at all. And corn bread was from a box. I'm sorry but my mamas soul food wasn't made that way.

Bronc M.

Yelp
It's ok. At best. Fried chicken was dry. So were ribs. Catfish nuggs lacked seasoning and were hard. Similar comments for everything we had. A passable meal - just not a "good" one.

Wayne B.

Yelp
Seriously, the best food and service at one restaurant! Everything we ordered was delicious! Family shared hush puppies that everyone loved. I got the Big Mike Special with AMAZING fried chicken, the best Mac and cheese ever anywhere, coke slaw, and candied yams that... all I can say, I want to replicate!! The kids (under-10) were all satisfied with the kids menu. We got peach cobbler to go, as well as a sweet potato pie slice. I still have not touched the cobbler, due to being STUFFED on so much delicious.... Will try today. It's not on the tourist path, so as a tourist it was a deliberate destination. Seriously, everything was amazing. I hope to go back again in the future.

Fula O.

Yelp
Small restaurant with fantastic customer service. If you choose to sit outside they have a takeout window and a picnic table and full seating inside. We ordered over two visits Big Mike Pork Chop Rice a d gravy Collard greens Corn on the cob Fried okra Potato salad Fried whiting Get the fried okra. It's AMAZING! Not oily, perfectly fried seasoned and crispy. Pork chops were another hit. Shockingly I enjoyed the potato salad. A nice texture, balanced seasoning I would actually order it again. (You can't eat everyones potato salad) collard greens were flavorful and would order again. Fried whiting - not my favorite. Over fried it was too crispy. Rice and gravy. Little on the bland side and I prefer my gravy to be slightly thicker. A reasonably priced local restaurant with flavorful food and great service will definitely return

Jennilyn B.

Yelp
Awesome food happy with everything I tried pictured! I never knew food could taste so good. Then the sweet tea they had made my food even better! Great and quick service with friendly staff. The place was clean and had plenty of options for people to either eat in or order to go! Even a to go window! Love this place and wish I lived closer. Great food must try place if anything stop by and pick it up to go. Try it out you won't regret it. Very affordable too.

Diana D.

Yelp
We stopped here to have a hearty southern meal. Don't let the exterior or interior fool you; the food is great here. We ordered the croissant beignets because who doesn't love beignets? For entree, we got Lil Mike's Special; I got one with grilled fish and a side of fried okra and mashed potatoes, while my husband tried the gizzards with fried okra and Mac & Cheese. Everything is made to order here, which means it'll take a few minutes for your food to be ready, but it's fresh. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were huge; we could have done with just one entree and the beignets. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Although we dined here on this trip, I wasn't too impressed with the cleanliness of the place's interior. Will probably stick with doing takeout next time.

Janet K.

Yelp
Amazing food! Locally owned. Great staff. Busy every day! I love the fried bologna sammich. Nom nom!

Davis P.

Yelp
I see why everyone loves to go here. The food was great. Their shrimp and grits were nicely cooked. I was super hungry when I got there so I order a side plate too with collards, mac&cheese, and yams. Everything g was delicious! I highly recommend but call ahead!

Paula C.

Yelp
I grew up with food like this! Big Mike's collard greens transported me back to my Memaw's kitchen table and the pinto beans were perfectly seasoned. My husband had the sirloin steak, mac and cheese, fried okra and coleslaw. Cornbread was almost as good as what I make. Our waitress was Devonne and she was attentive but not too attentive.

Val J.

Yelp
The food was delicious-and the service was very friendly! Both of which should be replicated at all soul food restaurants-but too often is not. This restaurant is a true gem and we will visit again!!!

Keith H.

Yelp
Food was Ok/fair. Ordered lil mikes meal combo fried chicken, came with choice of one fried chix piece, picked chix breast and both were very SMALL! and our Cornbread was crumbled generic joke! Basically left hungry. Bojangles is much much better!

Tonisha B.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! The food was delicious! The service was great! The best food I've had since I've been going to Myrtle Beach!

Laura T.

Yelp
Considering this is the only soul food restaurant that we could find and was made aware of, it's kind of hard to give a review. There's no other restaurant in the area to compare it to. From what I've gathered, this is a popular restaurant while in the area. It wasn't anything like it expected. Don't get me wrong, the food was pretty good for the area. The fried chicken had a good crust & crunch. The yams weren't too sweet, but sweet enough to feel like you were getting a treat. The Mac n cheese was a hit!!! It wasn't fancy or commercial. It came straight out the kitchen and from the oven. It wasn't pretty at all, it was just right. It had the "you know I know what I'm doing" crust, the right amount of cheese and color. Oh, and the noodles were cooked just right. I wasn't a fan of the collards. IMO they lacked flavor and seasoning. The corn muffins were a bit on the dry side and wasn't hot. I ended up requesting, what I thought to be some fresh muffins, but found out they weren't and had to be heated up. The Lima beans, to me, were a bit on the salty side, but good. The whiting was fried perfectly. You get two decent size pieces. I added some hot sauce to help it out. The cabbage was flavorful and wasn't soggy. Now, the sweet tea is sweeeet!!!! I couldn't handle it. I asked for a 50/50; half unsweetened and the other, sweetened. The 50/50 mix made the perfect tea for me. I personally am not a very sweet tea/juice person. I mainly drink water so my palate is very sensitive. I didn't try any desserts. Oh, the collard greens dip was a first for me. It was a bit too runny for my liking. The overall taste wasn't bad, but no fan of it. And this was my very first time dining at a soul food restaurant who brings your food out on styrofoam plates. This definitely sets them apart from any other restaurant. And it's one way to remember them!

Deondra D.

Yelp
Food and service was great. They have a small dining room and we were their first guests of the day. They have beer and wine as well. There's no bar. Black owned and very clean...we will be back.

April J.

Yelp
1st time here. Arrived on an early Saturday afternoon. Very limited parking. About 20 spaces scattered in 3 different areas. Indoor seating and outside window ordering. I placed a to go order from the outside window. Great customer service. Food was hot and served in ample time. Fried chicken thigh & ribs were good. Macaroni was below average in taste. An odd unpleasant flavor is included and I couldn't put my finger on it. Fried okra was decent. Cabbage needed some seasoning. Price is a bit high for a 1 meat and 2 size meal. I would suggest ordering 2 meats and 3 sides. No pork in any of the food is a plus. Good spot for the area

Corinne H.

Yelp
Was it worth the wait to be seated? Absolutely it was. If you want a daily special (like ribs) get there early because they run out. We thought we were going pretty early but not early enough apparently... no worries though because regular menu items are great too. Hubs had the fried pork chops and couldn't stop raving about how great they were. I have the turkey wing and it was very tender and full flavored. Mac n cheese was hit or miss. We got the end of a tray that was dry but friends that seated after us had a fresh tray that was great. The lima beans are ah-freaking-mazing. The beignets were just OK.

Charlene H.

Yelp
We were a group of five and we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. I can see why there was a short wait to be seated and it was well worth the wait. From fried chicken livers, fried chicken and fish to a variety of beans, fried okra and the best baked Mac and cheese that I've had in quite some time. Just wish I'd had room for some cobbler because I'm sure it would have been as delicious as our meal. Busy little place with wonderful food and service.

Renee D.

Yelp
Oh my goodness I don't even know where to start. I wanted to try this place because I'm a big soul food lover. I came because it was one of the places that Mr. chimetime suggested. Long story short; no way will I go back. I got fried chicken Macaroni cheese, collard greens okra. They tell you that they will text you when your food is ready after 50 minutes I went up to the window and they said oh yeah, your food is ready; the okra was so soft and soggy like it had been sitting there for a while, You can tell from the picture there's something missing from the macaroni and it looks like she's milk, cheese, everything. I'm disappointed; I was excited to eat there.

Yelp
For whatever reason, we haven't made it to eat here the last couple of years, so I was full of anticipation. First thing you need to know is that there's not a lot of parking (you can also use the lot next door) and indoor seating is limited so be prepared to wait. No problem - there's a gift shop right across King's Highway. Once inside, don't expect much. You'll walk in to the front counter, and tables are on an elevated floor where you can see the kitchen window and watch the staff as they do their thing. It's simple and functional. The staff is really friendly, and are more than happy to stroke up a conversation with you. Terence was our server, and he's a very welcoming young man. The food was everything I had hoped for. It's soul food done right. I only wish I had enough room to try another plate. Like I said earlier- it's taken us a while to get here, but we won't delay going back!

Yelp
Placed a $150 order for dinner tonight for delivery and food never showed up. Tried to call Restaurant and they were closed. Hours stated open daily until 9pm but recording said they close at 8pm. Sat on hold with Yelp delivery service for 30 minutes before hanging up out of frustration. Not sure why order would go through and be charged if they are closed. No update from delivery service. Very disappointed with overall experience with Yelp/Big Mike's.

Yelp
We arrived in Myrtle Beach for our Girls Trip! It was a wait and a line outside the door so we had high expectations! As a collective most of our party of 5 gave 3-3.5 stars. We waited outside for about 20-25 minutes it was a nice day out so no worries. We were seated and given menus. The tables and chairs were wiped clean. The chairs were damp. I liked the variety of the menu. Our server was stretched a bit. It took her some time to bring back sauces, refills etc. The food was hot! I enjoyed the yams the most. The food was prepared well, fresh and tasty but many of my side items lacked the flavor I was looking for. The fried gizzards I tasted were tasty. I'd give it another try if I was in the area!
