How to Spend a Perfect Day in the West Village, From Morning to Midnight | Condé Nast Traveler

"I shop at Big Night on West 10th when I want pantry and party accoutrements — it feels like a shoppable apartment where you can get everything from caviar to cutlery." - Matt Ortile

The Best Chip and Dip Bowls for Your Super Bowl Bash and Beyond | Eater

"Molded from one piece of bright, heavy-duty glass, a chip-and-dip bowl from an impeccably curated NYC shop adds a sleek pop of color to any table. As its starring role in an Eater dinner party spread proves, the fun cherry-red color translates to year-round entertaining (instead of just “holiday”)." - Francky Knapp

Why Tablescapes Have Become a Source of Self-Expression | Eater

"An independent dinner-party shop launched in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in 2021 that pairs food with a carefully curated selection of tabletop and design objects; the home-focused side of the business has since expanded into a much larger location in Manhattan’s West Village. The store’s “dining room” is piled high with lively, functional wares from contemporary makers (including Dusen Dusen, Sophie Lou Jacobsen, Fredericks & Mae, and Misette), which the owner pulls from distinct brand worlds and assembles together in an intentionally eclectic way. Staff and proprietors encourage mixing rather than matching—prioritizing pieces that spark joy and a lived-in, studio-like approach to tablescaping—positioning the shop as a resource for hosts who want relaxed, individualistic, and playful dinner-party aesthetics instead of catalog-perfect setups." - Rachel del Valle

What a cute store and lovely service. They have everything for throwing dinner parties but also gifts for yourself or others. Such nice place to also get some inspo for your next dinner party. Def a must for all hosting people!

In romantic comedies there is often that one character, usually "the best friend," who comes from Brooklyn, is quirky, colorful, has impeccable taste, and is dripping with charisma. Big Night is THAT character in store form. The place is no bigger than Carrie Bradshaw's shoe closet and is chock-full of nearly as many delights: housewares, placemats, the perfect pasta bowls (and a great cookbook to help you prepare it). There are fancy stemware options and bar tools next to sundries like dishtowels, pasta sauces, and a cooler stocked with beverages (if you happen to be passing on a warm afternoon). They have a surprisingly deep array of hostess gifts, greeting cards, candles, and kitchen gadgets, too. When I was there Quin and Claire were at the register, and they had a ton of suggestions, ultimately pointing me toward the perfect gift: a minimalist vegetable peeler that would be right at home in MoMA's design collection. They host frequent in-store pop-ups (they were demonstrating skincare products when I was there) and the vibe is always welcoming and fun. They also have another store (their first) in Brooklyn, but it's even smaller! (Side Note: Some of us remember when the village was bustling with shops like this—before they all went out of business or were replaced by one of the many Marc Jacobs shops. So, add "nostalgic" to the list of adjectives that apply here.)

The most adorable store in the village! There is a mix of vintage and new, all perfectly curated and the best place to buy a gift for yourself/anyone in your life. I had to leave before I bought everything in sight!

So disappointing! I had been wanting to visit this shop for so long and was so excited to finally stop in this afternoon (Monday, August 25th). The two people working (guy & girl) could not have been more disinterested. Barely got a lukewarm “hi” before they resumed chatting and ignored us the rest of our visit. We were the only ones in the shop the entire time. I ended up not purchasing anything because I felt so unwelcome. Sadly, Big Night was a Big No.

Cute store but just a lil overrated, still worth the visit!

Kind welcoming staff, delicious items - the non-alcoholic selection is spectacular. Perfect gifts whether for a holiday, host, friend, or yourself. I have bought gifts and also “just because” for myself. They are always so nice, whether you are buying or browsing, or walking by to wave hello. A true neighbor.

Should've read the reviews, but as others have said the employees / staff all seem to have an attitude and are rude. Even if the prices are high, I could understand it being a more premium option, but to have worse service than no service really turned me off from ever coming back again.

Yelp
Cute store full of various things you could use for hosting a fabulous party. The staff were friendly. I didn't buy anything, and the stuff can be overpriced but if you are hosting or attending a party, this is a good spot for something unique.
