The 28 Essential Prague Restaurants

"American barbecue is not a common sight in Central Europe, but co-owners Silva Jackson and Tomáš Oujezdský come to it naturally. Chef Jackson spent years cooking barbecue in Florida and Texas, while Oujezdský has a knack for making sausage, all of which has helped make this Texas-style barbecue spot a hot ticket in town. The casual eatery is always bustling during lunch, often with a line trailing out the door, and evenings aren’t much different. Grab a tray and stack it with meaty options like smoked sausage, beef ribs, and tender brisket, along with creamy potato salad and spicy dill pickles, which offer the perfect crunch and great spicy-to-sour balance. The restaurant sources many cuts from Amaso, the butchery business operated by the Ambiente hospitality group, while pint glasses, in place of Czech-style beer mugs, help complete the Americana vibe." - Dan Clapson

Mouth watering experience! Incredible American style BBQ! Everything you get here is high quality. I love that it is spacious and stroller friendly. You see many families with small toddlers. The first time I came I fell in love with the place, I came again the next day 😅 Even the bread is so good. It tastes like the Japanese shokupan. Soft and buttery. If you are going with 3-4 people, I recommend getting the platter. With the juicy meats, pickles, and their incredible sauces, you will surely devour everything in seconds. In Prague, many places charge you for sauce, but here they leave big bottles of various sauce on the table! You can try different tastes and even make a sandwich with their bun. I saw other customers ordering eggs Benedict which also looked really nice. When ordering I asked the staff their recommendation and they were very kind to explain in detail. Will come back!

We ordered the beef brisket. The quality meet the price definitely very tender kinda melt in the mouth. However, personally, a bit oily for me if to eat the entire thing but my boyfriend do enjoy it. Service is ordinary and the place is giving cool hipster canteen vibe.

I cannot even describe how perfect this place is. The meat is sooooooo tasty. And I also really like frozen margarita here :) My number 1 place in Prague!

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Prague. The most incredible pulled pork sandwich, frozen margaritas, side dishes, and of course the tacos and wedge salad (with the best dressing EVER) on their weekly Taco Thursday menu. You seriously can’t go wrong. Wonderful, friendly atmosphere and even better staff. Could not recommend more!

My partner and I made sure to eat at Big Smokers as one of our dinners in Prague. Let me tell you - it was amazing! Never thought I‘d get an authentic American BBQ experience in Prague but they definitely ate and let no crumbs. Although it was unfortunate that when we got there, both the Pulled Pork and Beef Ribs were already sold out, we went for the Small Taste combo and had Pork Belly, Beef Cheeks and Sausage for our meats, Burnt End Beans, Gumbo and Mac & Cheese for our sides. Beef Cheeks are so tender, Pork Belly melts in your mouth, Sausage a bit salty but sinfully good. Burnt End Beans are the star of the night, we had to buy a second portion. Gumbo was quite nice too and the Mac & Cheese is a bit dry but delicious. Also great selection of drinks. MUST EAT IN PRAGUE!

Omg. That was a religious experience. My friend got the brisket and I got the tasting menu with the ribs, pork belly, and sausage. The meat was incredibly soft and flavorful, the sides were very tasty and fresh, and the employees were really nice and offered some guidance on the food. It wasn’t cheap, I think in total I paid 900 CZK just for myself, but it was a very big serving that could have been enough for 2 people. If even in Prague again I will most certainly come back!

A great meal overall. Good selection of meats and side dishes. The meats were actually smoked and well seasoned. The bread was also puffy and fresh. 4 great sauces on each table. The place was very nice and clean.

Pretty great place. Food was top tier and the price is great. I’ve had real Texas BBQ and this is as close as you can get outside the states. You can tell that this place cares about the food they make and the vibe it wants to give off to its customers. Only downside was they only had 2 meats left in, but we did turn up 2 hours before close on a Sunday. Would’ve loved to try the beef brisket, maybe next time. It is slightly out the way in terms of where most tourists stay. We walked 50 minutes (but you can easily get there by public transport). Regardless I would recommend this to anyone while visiting Prague. It’s is excellent.

Yelp
Maybe i wasnt there on their best day, maybe it was because it was just opened, but my experience was not so good. The food was, lets say i ate it, and i dont eat just anything. I decided to try this place, because i live near by and i taught - hey, this would be a cool place to eat, fresh and meaty, why not? Here is why: i come in and queue, girl behind the bar asks me what i want, i tell her, she tells me that she is not the waiter and that i should order with a different girl. Okay then, tough sell, why do you ask me what i want then, i ordered, my two meals came incomplete, i asked for my drink at least two times until it was served to me in a form of putting it on a bar as far from me as possible, coleslaw i did not get, even when i asked for it. I guess the cook forgot to cook it and the girl forgot to serve it, but i sure as hell paid for it. I ate the meat bunched into the bread, it was just fine, nothing extra, and i taught: i'm not going to eat here again. I might try, cause its so close but...I value good service and respect for customers. I guess this place is not bad, but i experienced only A OK. And i am saying that only because the meat is fresh, well prepared and not pricey.
