The State Fair of Texas Will Serve Its Beloved Fried Foods Via a Drive-Thru This Fall | Eater Dallas

"A drive-thru adaptation of the annual state fair lets visitors pick up classic fair foods without leaving their cars, starting September 19 and running Friday–Sunday through October 12. Multiple prepackaged options begin at $65 and can include items such as Fletcher’s Corny Dogs, fried Oreos, kettle corn, sodas, cotton candy, a professional photo with the fair’s iconic figure, and even a midway-game prize; additional add-ons include Smokey John’s turkey legs and Sweet Connie’s corn on the cob. Strict COVID-19 safety rules apply: attendees should remain in their vehicles except to use the restroom or to pay for a photo, must maintain six feet of distance between parties when outside, and are required to wear face masks while picking up food (even if seated in their cars). Tickets go on sale September 2 at 10 a.m. and are expected to sell out quickly." - Amy McCarthy

Fun Once-in-a-While Experience Went to the Big Tex Fair in Dallas as a first-time tourist — it was a fun and unique Texas experience! Lots to see, eat, and do. Just be warned: prices inside aren’t great, and you can easily spend more than you planned. Best to go later in the day when it’s cooler and tickets are discounted. Worth doing once every 10 years!

One of the most popular photo spots during the State Fair of Texas. Near the Famous Fletchers Corn Dog stand .

The experience was very nice, everything is way too expensive though, like 7$ for ONE slice of pizza, they even sold fried butter 10$ and ONE single thing of cotton candy wrapped in bacon 16$ 😬. Rides per person are 12 bucks, and you need to make your money into "coupons" so you can't even use money to buy stuff except for coupons and the tickets to the park itself. Barely anything for free, but the free stuff was nice, but too overcrowded. If you have money sitting around or money to burn, then this is the place.

A must see if you’re going to the Texas State Fair. He’s even bigger then I imagined, great photo opportunity.

He’s big and he seems very popular. Was packed with people getting selfies with him.

It's a fair only bigger and more expensive with all the deep fried things you could want
