Vibrant bistro with homey decor serving up classic French dishes, pizza & tapas, plus wines & sake.
"Big Tiny’s steak frites is as good as it gets for $31. The Carroll Gardens makes their dish with hanger steak, and you get a nice-sized portion in a pool of peppery cognac shallot sauce, with a side of thick, fluffy fries. Due to the relatively affordable prices and stereotypical bistro setting, this is one of the best options for a date in the neighborhood, especially if you’re looking to eat red meat. Although the tuna tartare isn’t bad either." - bryan kim, willa moore
"Cobble Hill locals probably don’t want you to know about Big Tiny, an always-crowded French bistro that only takes reservations by phone. Cozy wood paneling, warm globe lights, wall-mounted bicycles, and art deco posters are the perfect setting for excellent versions of bistro classics like escargot, tartiflette, and cassoulet. And the Big Tiny burger is one of the best in the neighborhood. A thoughtful wine and beer list changes often—come here with your friends who love wine but not necessarily wine bars. It’s also a great date-night spot." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, neha talreja, will hartman

"I can while away the whole day there, starting with a morning latte, followed by a crock of cheesy-bready French onion soup, then get to some reading, and when the time is appropriate (noon), a glass of Syrah." - ByThe Bon Appétit Staff
