"Biga is a much smaller, more personal affair than owner and pizzaiolo Marc Frankel’s massive local chain Pizzicato." - Alex Frane

Absolutely delicious! Marc and Tracy do it again. These two know how to make a restaurant. My family and I attended Biga to meet a new friend from out of town. This was the perfect place. It is casual but not frumpy. The interior and exterior is gorgeous. We sat in the back patio area perfect outdoor seating during COVID). It was my first time dining out in over a year and I was rightfully nervous about the pandemic in public places. Biga had protocols with their serving and ordering that alleviated so much of my stress. The patio had lights, greenery, and fresh mint. I could've sat there for hours, I was so comfortable. I've been to all of Marc and Tracy's restaurants and can say that the food here is my favorite out of all of them. I wish I could eat here every single day. I will definitely be ordering delivery. Okay, now what you really want to hear about... the food. It was scrumptious. We started with the Warm French Feta Flatbread. I didn't try this one because I'm gluten-free and not a feta gal but everyone noted that it was a great way to start off the evening. We then ate the Little Gems Caesar salad, the Butter Lettuce Salad, and the Buffalo Mozzarella Salad. All shared among six people. My family is a big fan of the pizzicato caesar and was curious how this one would differ. It is less garlicy and uses a different lettuce. The salad is much more elevated and I was pleased to see some variation among the different restaurants. The butter lettuce salad was great and creamy. We asked for the bacon on the side (we had some vegetarians in the group). I would definitely order this one again. Finally, the Buffalo Mozerella salad is a modern caprease. My absolute favorite of the three. It was fresh. This salad has the buffalo mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, Jacobsen salt, and avocado. It is the perfect summer salad but I'd eat it any season. The avocado with mozzarella was unexpected and delightful. For pizza we ordered the Funghi, the Traditional, and a GF crust Via Tribunali. I had a slice of the fungi despite of my gluten-free diet. It was well worth it. Biga uses a dough fermentation process that makes this pizza like none other in Portland. It tastes special, comforting, and gourmet. If I could marry this pizza, I would. The best and most memorable part my meal was the gluten free crust. WOW! I was absolutely blown away. I've tried many different GF doughs in Portland and tried making my own (with GF flour or cauliflower), this one is by far the best. It actually is chewy and moist and doesn't taste like cardboard. Hallelujah! Portland, we have found it! From now on, I will only be eating and ordering GF pizza from Biga. Not only does Biga have spectacular dough, their sauce is other-worldly. I could taste every flavor note. There was the perfect amount of garlic too. We also had the Lemon Basil Olive Oil Polenta Cake with Mascarpone Crema and Seasonal Berries. I only wished there had been more Mascarpone Crema on the cake because it was so yummy. Overall, dining at Biga was a super memorable experience and I can't wait to go back again and again. It is perfect for celebrations, dates, or just when you need a yummy meal to treat yourself. Love you Biga! Welcome to the neighborhood.

My new favorite pizza place! My husband and I get Biga at least once a week. Thin crust, quality ingredients, delicious dough and sauce. Oh yea and fresh, tasty salads. Great service and location. Thank you for a great addition to our neighborhood!

So good! Super flavorful crust, quality toppings, reasonably priced. This will be a regular spot for sure.

I fell upon this place last weekend as the restaurant next door was too busy and what a great gem! We sat in the outdoor patio in the courtyard and it was a super cute area. I am already craving the salads. We got the mozzarella/tomato salad and the butter lettuce salad and I’m dying to go back again. The pizza we got was super great as well. The people who work there were all super friendly!

This was a very charming spot and delicious pizza. I had the butter lettuce salad and had the garlic fennel sausage pizza (ate it for a couple days afterwards since I couldn't finish it all there). VERY friendly and accommodating staff!

I tried Biga for the first time last month and now I’m hooked. hands down my favorite pizza in Portland. Perfect order: the fig and prosciutto pizza with a Cesar salad and bottle of wine.

I am sad to write it but the pizza service got much worse since we last went to Biga. The pizza is smaller, thinner and definitely not rich in ingredients anymore. What's more the pizza is much more expensive now... Excellent policy... I am afraid we won't be coming back.

Best pizza we’ve had in Portland, and we’ve tried a lot! Both the regular crust and the gluten free crust were amazing.
