Biga - San Antonio Riverwalk Restaurant

Went to this place for our Anniversary dinner. Gabriel was our server and he was kind, professional and on top of it! I had the duck dish and hubs had the three course meal with the steak tips. We also ordered the scallop appetizer which was delicious and the grits were fantastic. The beet salad was excellent and had great flavor the ceaser salad was good too. Dessert and coffee were tasty and special. The atmosphere was nice and cozy and every person in this restaurant was friendly and welcoming and it’s the type of place where you feel like you are supposed to be there and the staff truly wants you to be dining in their establishment and to enjoy their food. We enjoyed it and I hope you do too!

Absolutely stellar experience! From start to finish! Service, view, cocktails and food. Our waiter was incredibly attentive, we loved the Bigarita, the lamb and the salmon did not disappoint. Dessert hit the spot, though we are not sure how it fit. This place will definitely be on our revisit list!

Wonderful experience. The wait staff was impeccable. Service was perfect with recommendations and exquisite knowledge of the food and the food. Oh my goodness. I’m not sure how exactly describe it so I’ll leave some photos because it was new but Texan and delicious all the way through. One bonus the Wagyu burger I’m not sure why that’s on the starter menu, but it’s huge!!! to be expected, of course in Texas where everything is bigger!! Highlights would include the chick chicken fried Texas oysters, the Wagyu burger, and the scallops were so delicious. Everything is wonderful to be honest it’s wonderful experience.

We ordered 3 meals for two people to try this resturant for the first time. Overall the food was very good. We order Maui, Denver Beef, and Antelope and Quail. Highly recommend the Denver Beef and least was the Maui, needs more flavor. Drinks were prepared well and consistent. For a party of two, the total bill came out to $180. Be prepared to spend $75-$125 a person

Excellent experience! Amazing food! Had such a wonderful dinner with friends, celebrating my end a season body building show. What a way to celebrate! Ben was SO awesome!! I cannot brag on him enough! He was attentive, friendly, professional and all around a real pleasure to have as a server! Thanks for helping to make my night extra special, Ben!!!

Man. nothing really good to say about this place. We were searching for a steak house on black friday around 8:00 with out a wait, they said they could squeeze us in. Why they are advertising as a steak house I don't know. Food was pretty, server was nice, food was not good and took forever to prepare. Waited almost an hour for our food and then 20 minutes for dessert . Just disappointed in the whole experience .. and certainly not worth the price .. we could have lived it up at Ruth's Chris

Best restaurant in San Antonio. Maybe all of Texas. Chef owned, menu changes daily to keep fresh and innovative... think the Bear but no drama. Entry thru doors off St Mary's street... all other doors locked. Service was top notch.

Excelent food Exceptional service We had the lamb and fish that were cooked to perfection and I had one of the best old fashion to drink. The best restaurant on my trip to Texas. Thanks to Tucker who made sure everything was above and beyond.

So we've lived in the San Antonio area for 24 years and I'd never heard of this place. I was looking for a nice place to go for our anniversary dinner that we hadn't eaten at and this place came up so I made reservations. When we arrived the hostess wished us 'happy anniversary' and we were taken to a table that had a screen so we had a 'private' table - nice touch! Our server, Abby, was too notch! She was personable and friendly and her recommendations were spot on. The menu at this place changes regularly (I think nightly). There are lots of options to choose from with a variety of 'traditional' and very unconventional appetizers, salads, soups, entrees and desserts. We started with the three bread basket (buttermilk cornbread; Pain au Levain; and Focaccia) which came with whipped butter. All were very good and the fact that they were the 'least favorite' food we had says a lot. We also tried the Bibb Radicchi Game Packet which was an amazing flavors meat in a lettuce and cabbage leaf with veggies and cashews and Asian sauces. My wife was not wanting them - until they arrived and the presentation alone made them appealing, but we each had one and they were phenomenal. My biggest dilemma was that I loved the flavor without sauce - but the two different sauces were superb - sauce or no sauce? I tried it all three ways! Loved it. We both had the Roasted Tomato Soup with spicy Parmesan croutons. Again, the presentation was top notch and the flavor was amazing. We had them add just a bit of pepper on the top and it was perfect! For our entrees - I had the 11-spiced South Texas Antelope and Lockhart Quail which came with a goat cheese tart, Brussels leaves, cranberry orange chutney and juniper sauce. I can't describe the flavors - they were very different and perfectly paired. I am not a Brussels sprout fan, so I figured I'd try them, not like them and leave them on the plate - but I found myself wanting more when they were gone! The cheese tart was like nothing I've had before and it was delicious. The Antelope and the quail were perfect in the sauce. An entree I wouldn't have considered but for Abby's recommendation - and I was very glad I ordered it! My wife had the Slow Cooked Beef Angus Denver which was served with peppers and onion corn pudding and spiced grilled zucchini. I tried some of each and again - the flavors were perfect. The beef just melted in my mouth. I could have ordered that entree and also would have been pleased! For dessert we tried the Dreamsicle Crème Brûlée, which was perfectly caramelized and the flavor was spot on Dreamsicle! Very good. We also tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding which had a very unique but great flavor. The sauce was a maple flavor sauce. The pudding was a mix of chocolate and date flavors - almost impossible to accurately describe - but it was great. The only 'negative' about the place was that a group of 10-12 businessmen were seated not too far away and they must have thought they were in a local bar watching their favorite sports team because they were extremely loud. But, that's not something that can really be controlled and probably isn't the 'norm' We will ABSOLUTELY go back!!

I had dinner at Biga on the Banks, and it was a nice and relaxing evening. The view from the window was beautiful and made the night even better. The service was really good, they also kept my water glass full the whole time. The food was nice. If you go, try to sit by the window--it makes the night feel extra special.

Was deciding on a dinner place and ended up at Biga. Nabbed a 5pm Saturday slot on Tock, got seated by the window overlooking part of the Riverwalk. Nice view. Side note: Did you know river boat storage is in the harbor underneath the building? As for our friendly waitstaff, he seemed to have waged many a war against fiery flame and hot iron according to his scorched hand burns. He explained to us that the menu has two sections, a la carte and a 3-course price fix. We opted for the 3-course meal. Waters were always promptly refilled, so there was never a no need to fear dehydration. Utensils and plates were replaced for each course. Tabletops, however, were not cleaned between courses. Our waiter ignited the candle wick with a lighter. Yes, the food is delicious. Yes, the food is good, but let me explain. It's their sauces and dressings which bring on the flavor. Course 1: Mixed Greens. Very sour green apples, raw red onions, grape tomatoes cut in half. By themselves, not super impressive. A slice of Brie. Ok, sure, and walnuts. And mixed greens, maybe from one of those grocery store boxes, who knows? But, those greens are lightly coated with something wonderful. What can produce such a buttery sensation in a salad? Sure, I had read the menu, but not that closely. I surmised it was a vinaigrette, for sure. But it was very light, very slight, not super sour, nor oily. Yet it produced an amazing buttery mouth feel. Menu-less, I could only fathom what it might be. How, exactly, is this vanilla bean balsamic vinaigrette made and balanced to accomplish such a sensational texture on the leaves, without any of the harshness from the vinegar? Roasted Tomato Soup. Thin red threads, vibrant green leaves hidden beneath, crouton glaciers atop. A reasonable bowl of soup, but all the other dishes were certainly more impressively flavored. It did contain Parmesan croutons and basil pesto, although the red threads are still a mystery. Saffron? Strips of tomato skin? Red pepper? Or something else? Course 2: Salmon. Crispy surface, thick, just-cooked interior. Few fried garlic slices, lemon wedge, sprouts for greens on top, small dabs of green mystery dots, pickled cauliflower and carrot, fried onions, pickled peppers, crispy rice block, pool of translucent amber liquid. An impressively crispy rice block, with bouncy rice within. Wonderful with the amber liquid. The salmon, too, combined excellently with everything on the plate. Deliciously savory amber liquid referred to as charred orange nuoc cham. Is fish sauce a component? Possibly, but not necessarily. What is its composition, and how can the flavor be reproduced at home? The green dots? Avocado dots. Lamb Rack. Reminiscent of lamb atop mashed potatoes with a slice of butter, and gravy on the side. Except it's lamb atop savory cheesy grits with a slice of marinaded feta, and mushroom veal reduction on the side. Green crust. Tasty parts, tasty whole. Tender, not chewy, nor any malodorous lipids. Interesting green crust: minced up mustard leaves somehow fried to get a crumbly texture. Course 3: Chocolate Zucchini Cake: Almost pillowy texture. Vanilla ice cream, chocolate shavings, and a chocolate cigarette rolled so finely. Chocolate sauce. Blackberry orange compote. Take a bite and grin as you go back for more. Biga Sampler: Set of three. Starting with the warm apple pie spiced crumble from in the middle. Whipped cream on top, and underneath you what amounted to what tasted like nut cups from childhood. Dig deeper to get to juicy dehydrated spiced apples. Yum. Next, the triangular fudge ganache? Fudge, nutty, with raspberry sauce. Finally, save best for last, with the delectable sticky toffee pudding. Eruption of lingering toffee flavor with every bite, the dessert which will draw you back for more.

Came here during a girls night and ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. I started off with chicken fried oysters and it was an acquired taste for sure. I was disappointed because I absolutely love oysters but they should never be fried. The squid ink noodles underneath were so pointless. Next was the lamb entree which just fell flat...seasoning or something was needed. Grits were not consistent and chunky. Lastly, was toffee pudding which was the best thing I ate. Our server was phenomenal and it's a cute spot right on the river, but I don't plan on going back.

Quieter side of downtown. Our waiter was amazing and personal. Variety of drinks and great food options.

We enjoyed a memorable anniversary celebration on the Riverwalk at Biga On The Banks. Excellent cuisine exploding with flavor and creativity. The atmosphere had a Boho vibe. I requested a river view and mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary- both were noted by the staff. I give this establishment 5 stars for its food, location, atmosphere, and service. From the hostesses to Gabriel, my patient and helpful server, everyone was so attentive and I had a phenomenal experience!! Not to mention--- one of the best meals I have EVER had. The menu changes daily, so I've posted it here, but don't plan your visit strictly on the menu, it does change :) The chef has been preparing signature dishes for over 40 years and almost all of the seafood comes fresh from Corpus Christi- never frozen. I had a half portion of the Slow Cooked Angus Beef Denver (short rib that's prepared for 72 hours), and I may be back tomorrow to have it again. So tender- flavorful- the zucchini and pepper and onion corn pudding were fantastic. I also had the Dark Chocolate Mousse-- so delightful and filling, I couldn't finish it! Brightly lit, great seating by the windows and a nice outdoor seating area when the weather is right! Very solo girl travel friendly!

Excellent experience. Food was amazing. Setting overlooking the riverwalk is extremely enjoyable but the pride, care and customer facing experience of our service staff was beyond our expectations. Gabriel was a gem and a wonderful ten year experience representative of this amazing restaurant.

Lovely location. Truly a romantic evening, our waiter was knowledgeable and was able to recommend just right wine with our choice of entree as part of the Three Course Prix Fixe menu. Don't forget the Sticky Toffee Pudding - iconic.

Goated af fam. Stop reading this review and just make a reservation. Seriously it's the best in the city. It overlooks the river. Just go. Everything is done to a high standard. The sticky toffee pudding will replace whatever your favorite dessert currently is. Cheers y'all.

Great cocktails and appetizers but very disappointing entrees. The soufflé was excellent!

Unexpectedly delicious experience! I made reservations for my husband's birthday and we had to try something new. Biga was on my list for years and we needed to try! We ubered to avoid downtown traffic and finding parking. There really isn't a sign outside, but the chef was outside greeting people inside the building. It was a cold evening and the Roasted Carrot & White Bean soup came into my eye! Hubby wanted to go straight to the grilled tenderloin entree with extra fries. The Roasted Carrot & White Bean soup was the best carrot soup I've had so far! Not too sweet, savory and I wanted more! For my entree I had the Angus ribeye with the pinot noir horseradish sauce. The sauce was surprisingly delicious and gave a hint of Salisbury wine sauce flair. Both entrees were cooked perfectly and we enjoyed our meals. For dessert, I got the sorbet trio, which I definitely recommend! Perfect offset to the night!

Oh me gosh. The best food. The Asian salad was to die for. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Our waiter was on top of it. Wine paring was great. Left very stuffed. Lovely place great ambiance.

Everything went well! This is one of the nicest restaurants in San Antonio. The weight staff were so attentive and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions. The food was out of this world and extremely tasty. I am not a beef person, but I had the filet mignon and it melted in my mouth. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it

Yummy food, friendly service. Good selection of wines by the glass. Beet salad was a flavorful starter- a pile of sweet beet cubes with a small handful of arugula. Entrees come in a 6oz or 3 oz portion- nice option. The smaller portion of salmon was a good size for me- perfectly cooked and seasoned, loved the farro/cauliflower/golden raisins it was served with. Not too busy on a Wednesday afternoon but it was starting to fill up by the time we left so perhaps make a reservation to be safe. Recommend.

Excellent steaks and service. Great sides including brussel sprouts grilled. Started w scallop app for ea person and great wines especially the Williamette Pinot. Large party and we had to add a few more last minute and they accommodated. Definitely will be back.

Biga is such a gem in the city. One of the best restaurants with great ambiance, service, views of the Riverwalk, and food that is a good value! I've visited a handful of times now and have enjoyed my experience every time. Their prix fixe menu option for 3 courses for $49 is a great deal if you're hungry and want to try a few different items on the menu. I absolutely recommend the bread service with all 3 breads - for only $8 you're getting the best stuff and it will help fill you up and start your meal off right. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, there are garages around the area. You can validate your parking ticket if you park at One Alamo Center for up to 4 hrs. There is no valet! - Reservations? Yes, recommended but not required. This is a Riverwalk restaurant so it will be busy during events, holidays, and weekends. FOOD RATINGS: - Bread service (5/5): Excellent assortment of focaccia, cornbread, and sourdough. Comes with butter and salt. A generous portion of bread for 2 people. Absolutely loved every piece! - Habanero jerk scallops (5/5): Delicious and unique. You're paying a pretty penny for 2 scallops but it's worth it. Flavor is excellent and cooked just right. - Beet salad (5/5): If you love beets, this salad is for you. Fresh and flavorful, the goat cheese and the lemony arugula salad balance out the earthy tones of the beets and complement them so well. - Salmon with potatoes and cabbage (4/5): A bit plain and nothing special, but straight forward and no frills. Salmon was cooked perfectly - crispy on the edges and surface but flaky and soft inside. Cabbage was tender and potatoes were just okay. Nothing you can't make at home, but as part of the prix fixe menu it's a solid option. - Lamb rack with grits (5/5): Delicious, extremely tender lamb! Loved everything about this dish. If you enjoy lamb you must try this entree! - Warm chocolate cake (4/5): Simple, reminded me of a basic chocolate lava cake (minus the lava). Warm and comforting. - Lemon basque cheesecake (5/5): Love a basque cheesecake and this one did not disappoint.

Finally, I found the time to try this restaurant. It is participating in Restaurant Week, so it was a great opportunity. The dining room is beautifully decorated and situated right on the Riverwalk. The menu was carefully crafted and has great choices for everyone. My friend and I ordered different dishes so we could try more options. I ordered the Thai vegetable salad, biga bourgenion, and the warm chocolate peanut cake for dessert. My friend ordered the beet salad, rack of lamb, and the sticky toffe pudding for dessert. Our waitress Robin was very nice and attentive. Our food came out quickly, and each dish was better than the first. We happily cleaned each plate, and the dessert was a perfect finish. The restaurant also has special parking in the One Alamo garage, and they validate, so make sure to park there when you come to the restaurant.

What a lovely place! Came here for a conference with my colleagues (there were 6 of us) and the place was packed! Very attentive service though. We ordered margaritas and cucumber martinis along with oysters, habanero scallops, salmon chalupas, venison quail, mahi mahi, snapper, grilled beets and a few Greek salads. Everyone was fantastic and we managed to make it out with a decent dinner bill. We will back!

I recently attended an event at this restaurant. The service was great, but I have to say the food wasn't quite as good as I remember. I'm sure this had something to do with having a pre fixe menu, but I wasn't impressed. The beef medallions were good, but nothing to write home about. However, the chocolate dessert was great! It was difficult to locate the restaurant coming from the river walk. It could have used more signage. Also, while easy to find the main dining area of the restaurant, the event space was obscure. For the amount of places on the river walk, I'm not sure I would pick this one again.

We checked out James Beard "Best Chef" Nominee's Biga on the Banks in November 2022 while we were visiting San Antonio after a work conference and I really liked the atmosphere and vibe of the place. DRANKS * My Husband told the Bartender to Surprise Him with his own variation of Hot Toddy * Moscow Mule All the food was great, except my husband's Antelope came out cold so we had them re-do it for us! They didn't bring a new one, but I think they cooked his food a little more which made it more overdone than he would've like. They comped us with 1 free dessert, but not the other, however the waiter was so sweet so points for that!

Great food! Wonderful views! Try the VDR red wine. So good. Nice staff. The chef came around to check on us too.

I celebrated my birthday dinner in this restaurant. Loved the beets salad, main course, and creme brulee dessert. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. Get a table by the window and watch the boats in the river go by.

We dined at Biga on the Banks with friends who were visiting. The overall dining experience was decent. We decided to start with the bread bowl, which I personally found delicious. It offered a variety of bread types, including focaccia, French bread, and cornbread. For my main course, I ordered the salmon, which was good, but I wasn't a fan of the chewy rice and the spicy sauce on top. Interestingly, my husband and our friends all ordered the red fish and had a similar complaint - it tasted overly "fishy" and the middle seemed undercooked, which was unexpected for a small piece of fish. I opted for two Italian soda mocktails with berries, which were delightful, although my second mocktail seemed to be missing the promised berries. While the service was outstanding, I don't think I would choose to dine here again, especially considering the total cost exceeded $400.

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night. We walked here from our hotel, so I don't know the parking situation. We had reservations, but I don't think you need them on a normal week night. Our table was next to the window and we had a nice view of the river walk. Our server was very attentive and did a great job selling the menu. We started with the chicken fried oysters and local baby greens salad. My wife had the beef tenderloin and I had antelope and quail. We ended with the sticky toffee pudding. Everything was exceptional. If we didn't have the appetizers, my meal might have been a little too small of a portion

Biga, from the moment we were greeted we knew we were in for a memorable dinner. The host was very welcoming. Our waiter, Gabriel, amazing. He attended to us and gave us an amazing overview of the menu and specialties. His attention to detail was very much appreciated, he made us feel at home. The food was just a journey of flavors and with each item we ordered a different experience. The appetizers included the scallops and the pork belly. The scallops in a bed of cheesy grits were amazing! The best delicate scallops and grits ever. The pork belly, WOW, fell apart and had Thai style noodles, watermelon and unbelievably delicious. Our mains included the lamb, quail and antelope trio each with a different sauce which included tamarind and delicious chutney. For dessert we had the soufflé as well as the special chocolate/carnel cake. We would definitely recommend Biga for an amazing culinary experience as well an impressive ambiance.

Eaten here many times over the years. Always done very well. Great ambiance looking out over River Walk, service is always exceptional and the food is excellent. About normal range price wise for a special occasion, high end restaurant- a solid pick for any occasion or to just treat yourself and your special someone.

If you're looking for a date night location with great food, attentive service and a pleasant ambience, this is it. We had reservations so we were seated immediately - inside, because it was too hot for us to be seated on the patio. The staff were great, had good recommendations and made our experience really smooth! Coming to the food, we really loved it all. For an appetizer we asked for the Foie gras - part tradition, part ongoing quest to taste the dish in every restaurant we go to that offer it - and it was succulent, flavorful and absolutely delicious. For our entrees I chose the Australian Lamb Rack and my boyfriend got the 11 Spiced Antelope and Lockhart Quail - which led to some lively discussion between us about what spices we were actually tasting in the dish. For dessert, we decided to try both the sorbet and the chocolate mille-feuille. While the sorbet was refreshing, I only liked a couple of the flavors, but the mille-feuille was pretty epic! I would strongly recommend it as an amazing way to end dinner at Biga.

Came here for our fancy couple night out for a San Antonio trip. It's on the Riverwalk, so nice ambience. If it had been warmer, sitting outside would have been even better! It was a very good dinner with lots of creative flavors and excellent service. Definitely a fancy night! We did one prixe fixe with wine pairings and then picked some of the best other dishes on the advice of the waiter (who was very attentive). Definitely a very nice experience.

This was our first time dining at Biga. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server, Tucker, went above and beyond to provide world-class service. We enjoyed scrumptious cocktails before our entrees arrived. Yummy! I tried the lamb and my husband ordered the slow-cooked angus beef Denver. Both were exquisitely delicious!!! Everyone was friendly--from the water service to the hostess. We will definitely be returning when in town again.

I came on a Tuesday evening with two friends and it was one of the best meals I've had in San Antonio. They shared the fois gras, it's so seldom seen on menus! I had the goat cheese tart because I'm all in for anything that involves goat cheese. Salmon, antelope, and quail was all had for our entrees. The tender quail was the best, the salmon wasn't as good as hoped. As expected, the service was quite professional and the price was better than you might expect for a place with a menu like this right on the Riverwalk. It was a good meal and a great time to enjoy good food with friends.

We came here as part of restaurant week and Biga On The Banks did not disappoint. We had reservations and did not have to wait that long. Our reservation was at 6:50 and the waiter told us that it normally starts getting a lot busier around 7:30. The staff was really great and made sure we always had a full glass of water, changed our silverware at every course, and provided great recommendations. The salmon was probably one of the best salmons I have ever had. It paired so well with the watermelon-mint, roasted red beets, feta, and balsamic glaze. I would have never thought of the pairing, but wow! They have a changing menu that features food from around the world so we tried the pad Thai. It was good traditional pad-Thai, but not an out of world experience. The food portions were a little small, but the dessert was pretty generous. We got the dark chocolate moose and the cookie crumble. The chocolate moose is a little bit more sweeter so highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth. Highly recommend the "Not your average Pina" cocktail. I ordered the spicy one which had jalapeños and Tajin, but you can also get non-spicy like my sister. Both are good. I highly recommend, I will definitely be back.

Consistently good restaurant for the past 20 years!! Can't go wrong with Biga. Love, love, love the oysters and the mashed potatoes. Also, they make a very good old-fashioned!!

Everything during our first trip to Biga was excellent. We were able to make a same day reservation through Open Table (Friday, 6:30pm), and we were seated near a window with plenty of privacy. The staff was incredibly friendly all night and had excellent recommendations. He suggested great cocktails and mocktails (Old Fashioned is a must get), appetizers to share (our favorite was the Campechana, and the only one I would not order again was the chicken & mushroom soup), as well as a solid main course (we split a full order of the antelope/quail). Overall, everything exceeded expectations, and we would definitely recommend this spot for a special occasion or taking friends the next time we're in the area.

Biga On The Banks has always been a restaurant I read about that is a MUST go to along the Riverwalk. However, I never actually walked past it during my walks on the Riverwalk. I finally just decide to look up its location and made reservations for our anniversary. Biga is at the corner of St. Mary's and Market with a parking location catty-cornered from there. Both times I have been there, I ended up choosing the prix fixe meal, as you get three courses for a great price. The first time, the first course was gyoza and the second time, it was a "Thai-inspired" vegetable salad. I chose the Thai-inspired vegetable salad per the suggestion of the waiter. I let him know that I was Thai, but I'll get it since he recommended it. While it was tasty and refreshing on a hot day, there was nothing Thai about it. It was more of an "Oriental dressing", but I'm just nitpicking on the name of it. For my second course, the first time was a rack of lamb and the second time was bacon-wrapped mini medallions. The rack of lamb adds a supplement charge but was cooked perfectly. The bacon-wrapped mini medallions, however, are more like micro. Also, I ordered it medium-rare, but it come out closer to medium-well. Luckily, it was still juicy and not chewy, so I kept eating it. Lastly, I read that they were known for their sticky toffee pudding, so I got that both times and both waiters said that was the best choice. The prices of drinks can be pretty steep here, but for $49 for the prix fixe (plus any supplements) is a very fair price for the quality.

Fantastic service, and the food was EXCELLENT. I can see why they were given the Icon designation on Open Table. I will go against the grain and say that I wasn't blown away by the sticky toffee pudding everyone else raved about, but I loved the roasted beet salad and lamb.

This was a next-level dining experience in SA. The ONLY negative I will mention was that the reservation system showed no availability. When I called (hoping to talk my way into a spot), I was told that they were booked but that bar seating was first come-first served. When my party of four arrived, not only was there bar seating, but the majority of the tables inside were empty. We requested outside seating and had a beautiful view of the river and were immediately met with the friendliest, most genuine server, who was happy to offer many details regarding the restaurant, it's history, and all of the menu options. Absolutely everything was beyond delicious and, not only have I verbally promoted this too many, but I am already, anxiously awaiting my return trip in October. This restaurant is a MUST visit if you've found yourself reading this and considering it.

A perfect anniversary celebration restaurant with superb service and interesting and delicious food. The seat we had was just amazing: a private corner with a window overlooking the River Walk- sweet! Our server, Chris, had great suggestions and was very attentive without being annoying. My husband and I ordered the bread service with all 3 kinds of bread, and the Thai Inspired Vegetable Salad to start. The Thai salad was fresh and not overdressed. Our entrees were some of the best I've eaten. When we travel this close to the gulf, I want fish as often as possible and the Baked American Red Snapper was flaky, melt in your mouth delicious (I got the small portion and it was plenty for me). My husband opted for the Australian Lamb Rack, and I nibbled some bites. It was perfectly cooked, the grits were delicious and not boring and what is wrong with marinated feta? Next time we are in town, we will be back. *Note: can be a bit tricky to find - we helped a couple who got stumped in the same place we did trying to find it. It's tucked inside a large building.

Incredible food, great staff, amazing experience. Cocktails were quite good, too. The antelope and quail is a great pairing.

Dined here with 2 friends after another friend gave high recommendation. I know why! It was fabulous! Do not sleep on Biga. It began with a smile filled greeting at the door and we sat at the beautiful bar area. The bartender knew what she was doing and made us all wonderful drinks. We chose to dine at the bar and were treated so well. We loved they had a 3 course offering for $49. Really truly give this place your time.

Premier dining at its finest. Our waiter was amazing with his humor and his enthusiasm. Our meal was amazing and every appetizer leading up to the main course was an orchestration of delightful flavors and delicious experiences.

We ate here for our anniversary. What can we say but WOW! High end pricing but worth every $. We've eaten at several top restaurants over the years and this was definitely a top 2. The presentation, preparation and flavor of all the dishes we had was food heaven. Our server and chef were tremendous in accommodating our dietary restrictions to top it off.

Very nice location with Riverwalk-side windows for some of the tables. Service was excellent...our server was knowledgable about the menu and made great recommendations. Did not rush us through dinner. Our dinner was app heavy...the scallops were delicious. The Escargot was a large portion and very good. The oysters were very good but the heavy hollandaise sauce really overpowered their flavor and the great flavor of the squid pasta. The foie gras was a good sized portion but it was extremely salty. The red snapper entree was delicious...a half portion was definitely enough when paired with an app. Would definitely recommend.

This is a great place to go for special occasions. The food quality is fantastic & the chef changes the menu frequently (which we appreciate).

Consistently excellent food, exceedingly competent service, and an amazing location. I've dined in many incredible restaurants, but I always look forward to a meal at Biga on the Banks.

It was so lovely to dine on the river. We got a table outside and feasted before heading to Hopscotch. This place is walking distance from it. The best thing I ate was the axis deer. I'd never had venison before and it was very good. I was split between the lack of lamb and the venison and I opted for a fattier meat because that's been the house bread and butter, but it was just ok. The venison had far better flavor. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but the flavors of jerk and habenero overpowered the delicate scallop's natural sweetness. It was unpleasant. We had a positive experience with the staff and the menu doesn't seem to change much, so it feels like one of those places that's consistent and will continue to carry on.

We dined at Biga for my husband's birthday. We were seated at a lovely table by rhe windows. The service was wonderful as was the food. We started with the fried oysters which was delicious. We shared a beet salad which was good. My husband had the antelope and quail which he loved. I had the halibut which was cooked perfectly. All in all a fabulous dinner!

If you want a great meal , in a beautiful location, on the Riverwalk- this is your place. If the weather is nice- do sit outside! 4th time here, 2nd review. It's still great.
