Incredible experience at Biga. Service was fantastic, the place wasn’t too crowded and we tried a whole host of things on the menu. The pizzas and pastas are definitely the way to go but don’t sleep on the ‘nduja. Gnocchi was easily the best pasta of the ones we ordered. Will be back the next time I’m in SD.

I have been looking for housemade bread like this in San Diego! Thin and chewy, fresh and amazing. I'm addicted. We came by for lunch and tried the classic Italian sandwich, caprese salad, and the Napoli pizza. Everything was delicious. Awesome casual atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back for dinner and brunch to try more things on the menu.

One of the best pizza I had. Restaurant atmosphere was pretty nice. Only downside was that it was impossible to order a specific cured meat , it was the 7 meat meal or nothing. General rule, if a customer wants to buy something that is partially on the menu, let him do it.

Excellent Italian restaurant in Gaslamp run and managed by quality people. The pastas are first-rate as San Diego goes, and the velvety Wood-Fired Braised Lamb Shank is an excellent dinner option. While nibbling on BIGA's intriguing semolina-based bread, start with the charcuterie plate and you won't regret it.

Pizza was amazing and the salads, too! Service was ok, a bit slow and inattentive *this was after lunch rush on a rainy day* Returned the following morning for an espresso + croissant - was yummy and good alternative to hotel food!

I called to check if they have vegan options. The person flat out said no. He wouldn’t help me figure out if there are options. I think they need to train people who answer the phone. I would hate for people to skip this restaurant as an option if they don’t make dietary allowances. However, when I got there, the waiter and hostess were most accommodating and offered me a couple of choice. My pasta pomodoro with mushrooms was good. Maybe someday they will have more vegan options. Then I’ll come back.

I really wanted to like this place. I had heard good things and was excited to finally eat here. Unfortunately it was just not up to par. My meal came out lukewarm, my pasta was overcooked. The porchetta was good, not amazing and did not live up to the hype. Lastly, the whole staff seemed off the day I was there. They were all very low energy. They were attentive though. I really hope that it was just an off day for them. Now I will say that my girlfriend's meal was better than mine. All in all I was disappointed with Biga

Came to this spot for a coffee before the Andrew Bird show at House of blues. I understand that the evening crew may not normally have to make coffee. That said, when you have coffee advertised on the front of your building, you better be able to at least make a French press. It's not hard to put grounds in a pitcher of water and have it come out tasting like coffee. Instead, what we got was a $12 pitcher of water with a hint of coffee flavor. The waitress was very nice and apologized when I mentioned that the coffee was not good.
