Google
Got the oven roasted wings (5/5) and the pizza with half pepperoni and half cheese (3/5)! The wings were amazing, they have a slight spice to them which I didn’t expect. The pizza was decent, but not my favorite. I think the sauce and pepperoni could be more flavorful, but the crust was good! I also ordered my food to-go, so maybe the pizza would have been better fresh. Solid spot!

Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Italian flavors and high-quality ingredients. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the perfect tone for a great dining experience. The star of the show is definitely their wood-fired pizza—the crust is perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and has that delicious smoky flavor you can only get from a true wood-fired oven. The Margherita pizza was simple yet flavorful, with fresh basil and high-quality mozzarella. I also tried their house-made pasta, which was cooked to perfection and paired with a rich, flavorful sauce. Beyond the food, the service was fantastic. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The drink selection, including their craft cocktails and Italian wines, complemented the meal perfectly. If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers authentic Italian dishes with fresh, high-quality ingredients, Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

This place was absolutely beautiful. Food was amazing and so was the server. I felt bad for her, her section was up a flight of stairs. Could imagine running for a side of ranch 😩? But a good workout at the end of the day. I sure would like to know their step count. Lol.

Google
We had a nice lunch which was slightly tainted by our table neighbors… we were seated by a table with a bunch of small, excited, loud kiddos… there was plenty of room to seat us elsewhere and yes, I could have asked to move… but by the time it became slightly obnoxious we already had drinks and an app! Aside from that the food was good. Nice menu options and a nice environment for lunch.

Google
The pizzas 🍕 were delicious !!! The chef salad was delicious but I feel like they could find a better way to present it . The place was really clean and all the staff really friendly. Thanks again

Google
Great pizza 🍕 place with a broad range of options on the menu! Had to try Brussel sprouts and it was delicious with vinegar and all the seasoning! As to pizza, we took one red , salami and one white veggie! Both were great, the one with veggies turned out to be our favorite since tomatoes , 🍅 arugula and cheese 🧀 were just perfect 👍 Service was fast and friendly! And seating area on the second floor was cozy and nice with a view of the city streets through large windows!

Google
I hated their pizza .. I was expecting this to be good but it was horrible and there was literally no pizza sauce .. I can just taste bread and little cheese . There are many good options.. don’t come here ..

Google
Had the pleasure of trying out this spot for dinner with my wife after passing by it every other day for 3 months! We tried the potato croquettes, chef salad, and pizzas. The potato croquette: - Delicious - Perfect crunch - Smooth potato filling inside Chef salad: - Nice side for the pizza - Aside from presentation, it was ok. More sauce choice and higher quality lettuce would have made it better Pepperoni pizza: - Amazing dough! Wish it was a little fluffier though - Sauce is great - Pepperoni was delicious, a little more crisp would be better - The cheese was on point with the stretch! Mediterranean pizza: - Wife loved it, but also commented on the fluffiness. - The garlic oil is a nice touch - Goat cheese was on point While the atmosphere was really nice and cozy, I do wish the 2 people seating was larger. We had a hard time fitting the pizzas on that small table. ***The service however, was perfect! Made sure to leave our server a nice tip.*** Thanks for having us, Bigalora! Will visit again in the future.

Yelp

Yelp
The food here isn't bad, but it isn't great either. Neapolitan style pizza is my favorite, and there aren't that many choices here in Metro Detroit, so I basically try them all. The crust texture was alright, but the pizza itself was underseasoned, so it was just a bit bland. Our server was friendly, but not very attentive with refills etc. The space is sort of cookie-cutter industrial too, it doesn't have a lot of charm, and is quite noisy with the echo.

Yelp
Firstly much like most places in royal oak parking is severely lacking for this place. No handicap parking in the small lot they have of the 20 parking spot lot. I feel this should be requirement. Inviting interior seating for small and large parties. Service was good. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. Order the wood fired vegetable pizza which was decent but nothing to say much for other than the lack of veggies on it. I counted one piece of zucchini per slice. For dinner ordered the eggplant parm which was not good. The eggplant was chewy, watery and lacked flavor. I assume this due to them not bleeding the water from the eggplant before breading and cook which is a required for this dish. In short, there are better Italian places nearby

Yelp
Dinner tonight. Two of the three dishes ok. My spaghetti with meatballs: over cooked pasta. Actually paste. I was surprised. Restaurant logged my critique with courtesy. Given inedible pasta and flavor profile less than appealing don't think I'll order again.

Yelp
Nice patio - however, when the train goes by cover your ears. LOL Delicious Amalfi Mule! Good food with nice ambience. Chopped salad - try it!

Yelp
Never have I left Bigalora and thought, that sucked. What a waste of calories and money. For years since they opened the first in Farmington Hills I've been a most loyal customers. Always good pizza and always good service. Every time without fail. My personal favorite is the wood roasted veggie pizza. It's simply great.

Yelp
I love their pizza, we went Friday night and had a 20 minute wait so we had a beer at the bar. We were able to eat outside and enjoy the evening, our waitress was attentive and gave recommendations for the best pizza. Their pizza is made with the most amazing crust.

Yelp
Was very disappointed in this place & it's been on my list for so long. Good service & food came out in a timely manner. Pizza - not crispy, a little salty. It's the thin slice but it just didn't hit the same. Spaghetti & meatballs - good amount of sauce, noodle had a weird texture. Wanted to be El dente but has a weird mushy texture to it. The sauce was on the sour side for me. Meatballs were good tho.

Yelp
Nice spot to grab a quick bite if you're in the Royal Oak, MI area. We came after seeing a show at the Royal Oak Theater and it was a good choice. They offer numerous different wood fired pizzas made fresh in front of you in their open kitchen. If pizza isn't your thing there are also many different pasta dishes and small plates available. The atmosphere is casual, and gives you a small Italian pizza shop feel. They also have a small parking lot behind the building to save you from paying to park.

Yelp
I've always been a fan of this place. Had it for the first time in Plymouth and I was so excited to see that it's close to home now. The pizza is delicious, the focaccia is next level good, and the drinks were just right. Open area, lots of good vibes and music going on. Great visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun ambiance and pretty quick service! I loved my pizza with pistachios and sausage and would totally order that again. My boyfriend was less of a fan of the pizza he ordered since the onions and peppers on it came out pretty raw still.
google avatar

Antonio R.

Yelp
Very disappointed with this place I was there many years ago and was ok the dough was soft and tomato was perfect and good amount of mozzarella cheese, this time I had a margarita pizza with a lots of tomato sauce and no much mozzarella cheese , no flavor to it very basic I will say that little ceasar pizza is better . Sad to say but I will give 2 out 10 to this place not sure how they are still open .
google avatar

Yelp
I'm still a huge fan of biga. Their pizza is one of the best ever. The right stuff, I always feel good after eating a pizza here. Bocco sausage outstanding. Love the pastas too. Marinara sauce and some arancini or meatballs, right on. Paper plane cocktail for the last 10 years, so ahead of everyone, yet true old school southern Italian. Love to sit outside in the summer. Inside is airy and staff is always helpful.

Yelp
Spaghetti and Alfredo were really good! When we said we were in a rush, they went really fast and cooked i all the stuff we ordered!!!
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered lunch from Bigalora for a co-workers birthday. We had several pizzas, 2 salads, a pasta Alfredo and cannoli. It was an amazing lunch! The staff was helpful, and one server even helped me carry everything to my car -- in 5* weather, and she didn't have a coat on. My only real criticism is that, rather than cutting the pizza themselves, they gave us a little pizza cutter so we had to do it.
google avatar

Marwa H.

Yelp
I went with a few friends and got sat immediately! The restaurant was very clean and large. We all ordered different pizzas and enjoyed them :) they are a pretty good size for someone to eat the entire thing, if you're hungry.
google avatar

Yelp
I really love Bigalora. To me, it is usually a 4+, but on this occasion, my pizza was not very warm and their were only 6 small pieces of sausage on it. I expected more from them. The waiter was also short and curt and forgot my drink order. The saving grace was that my pizza was even better the next day when I threw it into the air fryer to warm it up. I hope my next visit is better than this one was.
google avatar

Yelp
Overall this was a great place! I really enjoyed it! I came here with a group of friends and even though we were a big party, service was very timely. They do accommodate gluten free individuals and have a variety of options for all who have dietary restrictions! I personally had the focaccia bread (which was the most delicious bite ever!) and spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious! It was a very generous portion and I felt it was definitely worth the price! Great place to relax with friends and family!

Yelp
Came here for a work party Wednesday after work, we booked it ahead of time and got the upstairs. We were sat immediately and they even let us come by a little bit earlier than we had planned. We started with Calamari which was surprisingly delightful perfect crunch and the prices were pretty good in size, also got the potato croquette which was delicious also and the risotto balls which if you have never gotten you must get, you only get two balls per order same with the croquette. I ordered the chicken parmigiana which was very good I ordered extra crispy and they made it just that. Jo-Jo was our server and he was absolutely amazing and was always around to clear the table or help get drinks anything we needed he was on it. Place was super clean as well. Dessert we ordered the frittelle which to me was just like a funnel cake just a bit thicker but was scrumptious!

Savannah H.

Yelp
Great pasta and pizza! I've yet to find something I didn't love on their menu! The staff is very kind and helpful!

Yelp
This place was cute to me. We sat in closed in heated patio Me and my son the ambiance was great quiet inside patio a little louder inside restaurant. Food was tasty I ordered ceasar salad fries and my son ordered a pizza and strawberry sundae that was huge he liked it but could not finish it. While eating lunch a train came by since the restaurant is located right next the train tracks it was loud but beautiful. We enjoyed our visit . Staff was friendly .

Marika A.

Yelp
This was my first time. The service was appalling. They did not serve the food the same time for everyone at the table. Most people at the table almost finished their food, by the time some of us received it. Waited about 10-15 minutes extra. They did not bring the right food,...etc. The food tasted ok,... that is why I giving them 2 stars. Most likely will never go back! Also found the place too noisy. For sure not for a romantic dinner.

Yelp
We arrived right before the dinner rush and although several staff members were upfront around the bar it took several minutes before we were asked how they could help. Once we were seated our server was great and the food came out rather quickly. We started with the calamari, which was good but could have been cooked just slightly more. For entrees we had the spaghetti with meatballs and the margherita pizza with added prosciutto. Everything was served hot and had lots of flavor. Besides the slow seating experience we'd revisit when in town again.

Chris M.

Yelp
Updated-Jason reached out and offered to rectify the poor experience we had when we were there recently. We went back and got a fantastic pizza and the heirloom carrots (for takeout) but were greeted warmly and with good conversation. Happy to see that things have picked back up and we will be back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
We always enjoy eating here & the patio in the summer is our favorite. My husband says they make the BEST Negroni! We usually share salad, the arugula with shaved parmesan, a Margharita Bufala pizza and Rigatoni Bolognese. It can be a little noisy in the dining room when they're very busy. Service has been excellent.

Yelp
Last week I had a rep bring in pizza. We had a few slices left so I brought it home-- my very picky daughter loved it! Like are it all and wanted to go get more. (For me that's a win) Can you believe she didn't want the coco classic, she wanted the Margherita pizza. I always want to try a few things off each side of the menu.. We started with risotto balls, and the truffle fries. If I could make one suggestion: don't eat the truffle, it's very bitter. I expected it to be grated over the fries) that didn't deter my kids and I from eating all of them. We then moved onto red pizza: Margherita White pizza: Brussels Sprouts Pasta: Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo Dessert: Strawberry parfait and 2 scoops of kid gelato. The food was so good we got 2 more pizzas to go. In all that food talk, I forgot to mention our server. I'm terrible with remembering names. But he was stellar. We were the only tables for a few minutes but as we were finishing up, it started to pickup. Actually I think I caught a cook or dishwasher outside and asked if I was ok parking and he was very kind. --I know parking sucks in RO but there is ample parking across the street. Super convenient. Super easy. For a good pizza and fresh pasta.. everything was right on par for price vs expectations. Actually beat my expectations.

Yelp
We really enjoyed Bigalora! There was a little wait on a Friday night, no big deal. They text you when your table is ready. There outside patio area, but it was still cold outside. When were were seated, our table was upstairs. We had a great view of the whole dining area. We started with some refreshing cocktails and some potato croquettes. Delicious! He chose to do a fettuccine pasta, I went for the woodfired mushroom & onion pizza with white sauce. Bigalora uses sourdough crust, it's amazing. He loved the pasta, but the sauce was a little on the runny side. There is a wonderful selection of desserts, next time we will save room. There are a few locations in the area, give Bigalora a try!
google avatar

Melanie D.

Yelp
I seriously have poor luck at Bigalora. Server was really nice. She replaced the pizza. But this seems to be a thing with me and this place. A spotted crust on the bottom of a neopolitan-style pizza is a good thing. But this wasn't edible. Time to give up. It really bums me out. Asked my brother and sister-in-law from out of town to meet me there. They were asking "why did you pick this place?" as we left. Totally embarrassing. Not the first time they've let me down at Bigalora.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Wow what a great dining experience. Christina our server was incredible, was on top of everything. Did not miss a beat. As you sit down they put down a pitcher of water and two glasses. Ordered a beer from Arbor brewery the classic blonde, fantastic crisp tasting beer. Then ordered the Beet salad with goat cheese, walnuts and red onion with balsamic, what a fresh tasting salad. Then we got the pepperoni pizza I'm sorry to my home town Detroit but I like super thin pizza. Pizza was made to my perfection. Super thin perfectly darkened crust. Nicely spiced pepperoni. I had a second beer a Arbor Strawberry blonde very refreshing beer. For dessert we had the salted caramel sundae ,fantastic. Very nice dining area. Parked out front. There's a parking lot across Main St. Definitely going back.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
Margherita pizza was just about perfect, and the big windows create a beautiful space. However, I wish the funghi pizza had fresh thyme.

Tony M.

Yelp
Over priced? Beet salad had 3-chunks of a beet, sad Pizza undercooked, crust all white and soft, sauce no taste Overrated
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Many pizza choices. The red sauce veggie was my favorite. Outdoor seating is charming.
google avatar

Andrea D.

Yelp
Parking is a challenge - like everywhere in Royal Oak. Risotto balls & meatballs are yummy. Sauce is outstanding. My daughter liked the pasta Emiliana. I want to go back & try the funghi pizza & salads.
google avatar

Lisa F.

Yelp
I had my work department holiday lunch here. Party of 9. Everyone got their food before me and the waitstaff gave an extra pizza they made as a consolation. I didn't want pizza. I had to ask for a refill of my soda. Water was self serve. Paper straws.
google avatar

Daniel F.

Yelp
I had a family dinner here this weekend. I love rigatoni with bolognese sauce and this dish didn't disappoint. Generous serving( took half home for later) and piping hot. My granddaughter devoured her spaghetti. My wife enjoyed her appetizers. My daughter enjoyed her stuffed shells. Service was unusual, they bring the dishes out as they are prepared so plan on sharing or possibly waiting a bit until your entree arrives. It wasn't inconvenient, just different. The advantage was that every dish was hot! The waitress was hopping to serve the 5 of us but was very pleasant and engaging. The venue is noisy but there is both indoor and outdoor seating available. Several local craft beers were on tap in the small bar area while waiting for our table. Nothing to complain about here! Definitely on our repeat list when in town.
google avatar

Rick G.

Yelp
Ordered 4 pizzas to go. They were all delicious and different. The toppings were fresh and the dough was good. Could have been slightly more crispier but certainly acceptable.
google avatar

Caroline B.

Yelp
Went in on a Friday. We wanted to sit outside but there was a private event on their patio. We sat in side up stairs. Food was good, service was good. We ordered the chopped salad and prosciutto to start. Then the white anchovy pizza, pistachio pizza, and ham and mushroom pizza. The pistachio was the star of the show! We will be back.

Allie W.

Yelp
Overall, the food was okay. The Brussel sprouts were disappointing. The pizza is good but nothing to write home about. I did appreciate that they had a mocktail section on their drink menu for those not drinking. Our waiter was nice and good service. It is a nice patio if you're looking to sit outside. It's close to downtown without being directly in the action of the bar scene.
google avatar

Herika E.

Yelp
Such a beautiful restaurant. While parking is very difficult to find, this restaurant is worth the 3 block walk I had to endure just to find a spot. Overall, the atmosphere is inviting, the music set at the perfect volume, warm lighting, cozy tables, and extra long windows overlooking Main St. make this the perfect date night spot. I ordered a glass of Baia Sauvignon Blanc which was delicious, the Wood Roasted Beet salad which was yummy! Fresh arugula, delicious beets, walnuts, fresh goat cheese, and vinaigrette made for a delicious start to my meal. For dinner, I had the Gluten-Free Roasted Tomato Pizza which was AMAZING! So fresh, so fluffy, so yummy! I'm in l-o-v-e. For dessert, I ordered the Pistachio Gelato that was sweet, creamy, and light. The staff was very kind and for the amount of people in the restaurant, it was not loud at all. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. I would definitely recommend!

Adrienne C.

Yelp
Our server was so nice and patient with my husband, who is never satisfied with anything. Even he enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Staff was so attentive to him and was very considerate of his wheelchair needs. They made sure the elevator was waiting for my husband when we got there and when we were ready to leave. They really made my husbands day! Oh! The food was excellent!
google avatar

Marc L.

Yelp
The food was very good. Unfortunately it took an extremely long time for all of us to be served. The first person in our group of 6 received it 45 minutes before the last person was served. In fact 4 of the pizzas were served at the same time. But the last one was served 20 minutes later. Apparently the kitchen got confused with the fact that 2 people got the same pizza. They did offer us 1 free dessert to our group, which we took. But once we got home, I realized how poorly we were treated. The server apologized when we were getting ready to leave, but nothing from management no explanations were given. And we had to ask about the long wait a few times. . I mean, perhaps if they forgot to make the pizza we should not have had to pay for the pizza. Very disappointing with this restaurant.

Yelp
I don't have any complaints about the five-star service or food on my first visit. The food was delicious. The Pistachio White Pizza was the best pizza I've had in a long time. I like the taste of the house made sausage and the pistachio pesto with garlic oil. I also liked the Italian Tuna Salad and the Wood Roasted Beets Salad. Take-out service was friendly, excellent, and attentive. The woman at the front gave me plenty of plates, utensils, napkins, and extra parmesan and red pepper flakes. My party loved the food so much that I came back soon after for another take-out dinner. The second visit was two stars. The service the second time was not up to par. The person who gave me my food did not ask nor provide any plates or utensils. I ordered a handful of small plates and none of them stood out as something I'd order again. The Wood Roasted Wings were a bit tough. The Focaccia should be free with orders. It's a $5 piece of greasy burnt bread. The Spicy Agrodolce White Pizza was not good at all. As you can see from the photo, it was very burnt all around the edges and even towards the middle of the pizza. There is no excuse to give a customer a pizza like this. Just own up to burning the food and offer a refund or a credit for another visit. The only dish I would order again would be the Strozzapreti Norcina Pasta, which has the house made sausage that I like with tomato, cream, grana padano, and truffle oil. There was a good portion of housemade sausage and a noticeable taste of the truffle oil. For a restaurant of this caliber and price range, the quality of the food and service should not be so inconsistent. I will likely eat here again to try more of the pizza and pasta and to order my favorites, like the Pistachio White Pizza and Strozzapreti Norcina. It does concern me that depending on the chef I could get burnt food. I will check my order before leaving next time and ask for a refund if I get something like that burnt pizza again.

Yelp
I've never ever rap recommend this over priced small stuffy restaurant to anyone just for the simple fact that I seen workers there that are extremely unhappy. Cooking your food in addition to not getting orders ready in a timely fashion, nor do they care do whatever you can to go spend your money elsewhere I'm sure it's gonna be just as good if not better, and you'll save money compared to this overprice ridiculous place.
google avatar

Kaela K.

Yelp
In full transparency, we only did takeout from this restaurant so I can't give a full review on their service. While picking up the pizza, I stepped inside and waited near their kiosk. Despite getting someone's attention and being told one minute, it's still took 10 minutes for someone to come over and actually speak to me/hand me the pizzas that we're sitting on the counter. The pizza was mediocre. I ordered the Prosciutto di Parma, which was okay - just didn't hit the spot. We also ordered a Pizza Nutella. The topping tasted like a chunky textured, bland chocolate sauce instead of Nutella. The strawberries were not very fresh tasting. I think this place has a great location and a cool vibe in the summertime. However, I was slightly disappointed with the flavor of the food.

Yelp
Super yummy & unique pizza flavors. Great for date night, a drink or lunch. The decor is awesome.

Yelp
Their homemade Pizza Crust is the Bomb. Love their Pistachio Pizza with a Salad Easy going staff and straight forward food and drink.

Yelp
I've dined here on more than one occasion. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and attentive service. However, the food offerings are average at best, but I think the drinks and pizza are the strong points. Otherwise, the entrees are not particularly inspired and less than eye catching. In fact, one of my friends thought one of the pasta dishes looked like it was microwaved (which was a valid assessment). Overall, drinks, pizza, and maybe salads would be my recommendation, otherwise you may as well go to Olive Garden.

Stacey M.

Yelp
Great drinks, fabulous pizza, and very friendly staff. We will definitely be going back to this place!
