I would like to start that I've been to this location a few times in the past and the food/service has been decent, no issue at all. My gripe time around revolves around my recent purchase on Mother's day. I placed a carryout order and received a text that the order was ready for pick up - fast forward nearly an hour later, my pasta was sitting around as I waited for the smallest (tiramisu 2x2x2). I get its a busy day, that's fine...the issue is that 1) adjust your system to provide accurate wait times for order pick up. 2) I've had the tiramisu before and it's never as small as it was. Not only that, my salad which should have included nuts did not have any and seems to have been compensated by adding even more raw onion. My suggestion, provide accurate wait times in the future especially for major holidays. If you dont have an item or it's going to take long to make, perhaps suggest another dessert item that is readily available. One last thing, the manager waiting for orders was talking down to the cooks in a Not So Professional manner - not something I care to see/hear as i'm waiting for 45 minutes.

We recently moved our office, and Bigalora is literally right next door—when I look out from the fourth floor, it’s right there. Super convenient to just walk over after work or during lunch. My buddy and I meet up on Mondays at different spots, and since I had just gotten back from two weeks in North Carolina, I asked him where we were meeting. He said his office air wasn’t working and he was working from home, so he suggested Bigalora. I was down. I ordered a Ketel One on the rocks and the chicken Parmesan. The food was absolutely delicious—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and reasonably priced. However, I felt like the vodka was seriously overpriced. While I get that drinks can be a little marked up, it felt excessive. Overall, great food, great location (especially if you work nearby), and a solid place to meet up—but just be ready for a bit of sticker shock if you’re ordering alcohol.

We had our wedding welcome dinner here on 6/28/24 and couldn’t have imagined a better evening. The room, food and service was impeccable. We worked with the GM, Mary on this for over a year and she was incredibly patient and helpful from start to finish. Her and her team were not just professional but attentive, accommodating and fun! This was a 12/10 evening!!!

Google
Did a group lunch and everyone got something they really liked. We even had a late edition to the party and the staff accommodated us with no issue.

Google
The food here is wonderful. My issue was with the fact that my appetizer plate was dirty when I sat down. I wiped it with a napkin. Our server was decent. We had a reservation for 14, ended up with 15, but they didn’t even have enough spots set out for 14. We grabbed another table to add to our group. I also was a little bummed with the amount of chicken I was given for my salad. It sadly was only enough to mix into half of my greens. The atmosphere is nice, and food delicious. So worth a try, I just wouldn’t expect a 5 star experience here, which is a shame.

Stopped in for a business lunch with a few people on a Friday during lent. I normally never eat vegetarian pizza, but since it was lent, that was my only option. They had tons of options which were not vegetarian so I’ll be back again to try those. I ordered a Funghi pizza which was basically a mushroom pizza and it was really good. We ordered some fries with cheese on them and some olives which we all shared and both were very good. One person ordered an Anchovy pizza and he said that was great. We also shared a bottle of Da Ma wine between the three of us. The service was good and it was not too loud in the restaurant so we were able to have our business meeting without the need to shout for others to hear us. I don’t have any complaints about this Bigalora location and I’ll be back again when I can eat all the non vegetarian options.

Google
The absolute best gluten free pizza I have ever had. If you have an allergy this is the place to go.

Google
I ordered my favorite pizza there. It's very unique. I don't know the name of it but it has this special hint of lemon, pistachio, pesto, buffalo cheese & a little homemade sausage that can be substituted for chicken or different veggies. It's delicious. I believe the pizza is $20. It has about 6 or 8 pieces.

Yelp
We don't get the opportunity to come to Bigalora more that once or twice a year but every time we do come the food, drinks and service are excellent!! Great vibe inside. Staff are so friendly!!

Yelp
Great food! Great for the kids! They let them kneed pizza dough while we waited!! Call ahead was easy and we were seated right away when we arrived. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Very yummy pizza in Southfield! We got the pepperoni and pistachio pizza. The pepperoni pizza was delicious. The meat itself wasn't too salty and there was a great amount of cheese on the pizza. The pistachio was very good as well. It had pieces of lemon that added the right pop of zest. I did not taste a lot of pistachio but overall it was delicious! The only downside to the pizza is it was not cut into slices. I suppose they do this for the aesthetic but it would be easier if it was cut already, but they also provided a small plastic pizza cutter. The service was great when I entered the building. I did a take out order and the hostess immediately had the pizza ready and supplied napkins and extra toppings. Overall the pizza was really good and I'd like togo back to try more dishes!

Yelp
Love their gluten free pizza. Good ingredients. Service is always good. Fun atmosphere.

Yelp
We went there for dinner for the first time and we liked it. I liked the look of the interior and the service was good. To start we ordered the calamari and the crispy Brussel sprouts. The calamari was what you expect, nothing special. The brussel sprouts was delicious. I definitely recommend it. For dinner we shared a pasta and three pizzas. The ricotta stuffed shells, and it was good. However the pizzas were great. We had the Pesto Genovese, wood roasted vegetables, and the funghi. All three were delicious.

Yelp
Went to the Royal oak location a few times but was meeting up family and this one was closer. My cousin who is gluten free was shocked how good the gluten free dough was. She said it's the best she ever had. The rest of our pizzas were also pretty good. Unfortunately they forgot to put chicken one on one of them and the server wasn't very apologetic or even mentioned what he was going to do. So I just asked him to make sure it was off the bill. Just wish the service was a bit better but would go back. It was nice to sit near the pizza ovens and watch them being made. There was also a bar top in front of it and kids got their own pizza dough to make a pizza which I thought was cool.

Yelp
Biga! Biga! Biga! We exclaim while walking through the door. Everyone stares at us a bit, but then we calm our excitement and order. They used to have one closer to our tour bus, but then it closed for reasons unknown. A bummer, as we enjoy the food and pizza. Unsolicited opinion time....I think it was the rent. Legend has it that old man Papa Joe charges rent in Swiss Francs therefore making it difficult to maintain a business in said property. Don't know, just a legend... Overall, yell out Biga Biga and you get two pizzas. Lol, just kidding that's a different place.

Yelp
My Margarita pizza subbed with vegan cheese was not a good dining experience this visit! The vegan cheese was too plentiful; it made the pizza a mushy soft mess. I attempted to eat two slices of it, but couldn't get any further than that. I am very disappointed -- especially for the price that I paid for the pizza.

Yelp
Place to come to when in town for business. Tonight the Bolognese and a Michigan amber. We come here with customers for lunch and choose several wood fired pizzas. This place is great.

Yelp
Where do I start? I love the roasted Olives, Sprouts and Rice Ball. RISOTTO BALLS (saffron rice, mozzarella, peas, Bolognese, marinara) WOOD ROASTED OLIVES rosemary, sea salt, citrus CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS - grana padano, red wine vinegar All the pizzas and pastas are great, my go to is the WOOD ROASTED BEETS salad with salmon on top!! Delicious roasted beets, arugula, sliced olives, walnuts, red onion, Idyll Farms goat cheese, balsamic vinaigrette chopped just right and always tasty.

Yelp
Weird location. I had heard of this place but never knew where it was. Think I was more familiar with the Royal Oak location. Service was a bit lacking. It didn't seem very busy in there, but I did notice that the bartender was taking care of a decently full bar as well as multiple tables. I also saw him running drinks out to the patio. I saw servers standing around however. He was still pleasant enough. The food was good. The Caprese salad is not exactly traditional but it was good. My pasta was pretty good as well. My friend enjoyed his pizza. Overall I'd give it another chance

Yelp
Ordered carry out 4-6--2023. Excellent pizzas esp. Funghi. We were having my sisters family over. Everyone enjoyed! Took advantage of the 4 pizzas for $15 each. A good bargain!

Yelp
We were able to get an awesome carry out meal from Bigalora. I've been looking everywhere for a pesto pizza after getting introduced by a food truck who broke my heart by no longer being local. When i called, Amanda was super kind and helpful with my ordering a kids meal, and a bigger order for our friends. When I arrived for carry out, the entrance and carry out is basically the same spot, so if you're uncomfortable being around others due to covid, I'd recommend ordering outside of typical meal hours since it can get a little crowded. That aside, everyone was kind and helpful and handed me my order promptly! I'll definitely be going again.

Yelp
It's located behind the real estate one building. They sell masks for $1. We started off with the fried shishito peppers and extra crispy Brussels sprouts and the bigalora chopped with blackened salmon and a beet salad with blackened salmon. Both small salads. No Gorgonzola on the chopped and no goat cheese on the beet salad. We did get a mix of romaine and arugula for both salads as well. Ceci are garbanzo beans. The crispy Brussels sprouts are quite good, not as crispy as we would like, but good. They had a light dusting of Parmesan, didn't see that one coming at all. Luckily only a light dusting. The Shishito peppers are nice and blistered and quite a good amount of heat inside with the seeds. My mouth is burning some. The salmon on my chopped salad is super skinny and not very big. My husband's is a bit thicker, some width. It's nicely seasoned. Just a tad on the dry side. The top and bottom of the salmon is nicely cripsy. The chopped salad tastes decent otherwise, dressing is super light to me. The beet salad dressing has more flavor. The beet salad comes with balsamic and the chopped comes with the ref wine vinaigrette. The small salad was a good side and filling with the two veggie starters. I can feel the fire pit in my stomach from the shishito peppers. They offer touch less pay online. Nice. The food over always good. I think the portion for the salmon was a little bit on the skin beside and it was a little dry as well. Expected to get a little bit more for $12 add-on cost to the salad. We've had bigger salmon fillets at other places for less than the $12 add-on for you here. Our waitress tonight, Aly was attentive and friendly.

Yelp
So far so good! Review is on its way but I think this could be a new spot for me! Stay tuned.

Yelp
Food and drinks were fantastic. Cole was our server and he was just lovely. The Amalfi Mule was spot on. Will absolutely come back!!
google avatar

Yelp
2nd visit and great again. The restaurant was quiet when opening Sunday afternoon. Pizzas are so good. The crust is good with their special preparation which is appreciated. Appetizers haven't let us down either.

Yelp
Awful dining experience. Worst in a very long time. Pizza came out raw, calamari never made it from the kitchen, in fact a lot of our items never got delivered despite sitting at the table for over two hours..... gratuity was still added to the bill as well.

Susan S.

Yelp
I love this place! The pizzas are all excellent as is the service! My problem is that it used to be even better! I miss my favorite entree they discontinued: the branzino was to die for!! It was wonderful, crispy, tasty and tender and served with tomatoes and capers. and I can't understand why they stopped offering it. Now if I want fish I order the salmon which is good but the warm grain salad has been mushy the last few times. Also they should offer the real normal anchovies they used to have as an option instead of the white pickled anchovies which remind me of pickled herring. But I still keep going there in spite of my unrequited cravings.
google avatar

Amani J.

Yelp
Cole is THE best bartender. The wings and garden salad are top-tier. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Andrea was great! She kept my water full, which is important to me, and was always friendly. Food was outstanding!

Yelp
Management took care of me after I had posted a not so great review of their restaurant. The woman who took my order was very pleasant and my pizza (which was perfect) was ready when promised. Thanks Bigalora!
google avatar

Yelp
So excited that they have a large patio/outside seating out front! And the moment we sat down, as the first ones out there for lunch today, the waitress rolled over their very large heating unit and so lunch was cozy on a cool fall day! (55) We have ordered take out the last few Pontus but nothing beats a day out with a friend I ordered my usual: roasted carrots with feta and peanuts & focaccia. My friend had the sausage pizza. All was good as usual. Just nice to have a nearby option with outdoor seating throughout this season . They don't take reservations but we had no problems
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch recently. Chose patio seating off the parking lot, which suited us just fine on this nice summer afternoon. Our male server, who did not identify himself, but took orders, served food AND bussed tables, was pleasant, accurate, efficient despite being so busy. Please management, take note! This guy is a post-Pandemic keeper! He started us off with drinks and appetizers. Know there is a good-size wine list, interesting craft cocktails, and beers on draft. My wood-roasted heirloom carrots entree with goat cheese and drizzled balsamic was flat out excellent. The focaccia with marinara on the side was the BEST focaccia we've had in a long while - seasoned, buttery, crusty and hot. I asked for Palamino sauce with my spaghetti and amazing meatballs, and they were happy to oblige. The two, large meatballs were perfect. The spaghetti and sauce was mouthwatering good! My companion enjoyed his Fettucine Emiliana so much that he got the clean plate award. Seating was ample outdoors and distancing from other diners felt safe and comfortable. The noise level was average given its proximity to Northwestern Highway. This is the original Bigalora Cucina, and i highly recommend stopping in!

Denise Z.

Yelp
Love the pizza and pasta. Great meatballs too! We go there for a delicious casual meal or get carry out

Bev B.

Yelp
Service was very bad. Was told our pizza was coming in a few minutes only to find out fifteen minutes later that the order was never put in. We waited 30 minutes for two pizzas; one of which came WRONG. The manager offered to box the pizza we didn't like (how nice!). Ridiculously poor service, unprofessional manager. What happened to the Southfield location of Bigalora??? Never will return - stay far far away.

Claudia W.

Yelp
We had a family birthday party last week and it was perfect! The food, service and ambiance were exactly what we wanted. The price/value was excellent and we will be using Bigalora Southfield for all of our family parties!!! Thanks to Jessica, Danielle and the entire team!!

Yelp
Bigalora (4 stars) I came here with a large group for a wedding rehearsal dinner. It took a while for our food to start coming (they thought we were waiting for additional people to show up), but once it did, it was really delicious. We had several items to share: salad; rigatoni with marinara; rigatoni with cream sauce and prosciutto; meatballs; thin crust pizzas with various toppings; frittelle (fried donut pieces) and gelato. The rigatoni was perfectly al dente and the sauces had just the right amount of flavor. I will say, it was really light on the prosciutto and peas, but delicious nonetheless. We all really enjoyed the freshly made wood-fires pizzas with various toppings. They were thin crust, so they weren't too heavy, nor were they too greasy. The meatballs were okay - nothing mind blowing, but decent flavor and they held together. The desserts were solid. I did enjoy the frittelle better. They came with both strawberry and chocolate sauce, which paired well with them. It was a great meal, and I'd like to come back here in the future!

Joseph B.

Yelp
Nothing much to say. Bigalora is delicious. We love the pizza and the truffle fries! Thankfully you can order the pizzas with various combinations on top to suit one's palate.

Sue S.

Yelp
Went there for lunch with a friend; it was almost empty at 12:30 on a Monday, and we appreciated the time our waitress gave us to "catch up". I was very disappointed that there was no lunch menu; apparently everything is the same all day and no "specials". I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, and while it was good, not outstanding, and I couldn't believe for the price ($19), no salad, no bread, and no offering of grated cheese. Quite frankly, I got better food the previous week at Olive Garden ($9.99 plus plenty of bread and soup/salad) with a waitress that couldn't do enough for us. Glad I went, but won't go back.

Yelp
Conveniently located near offices in Southfield. Nice deck area that is covered and has afternoon sun shades. The pizzas are great and the drinks potent. Good tap line. Wait staff is well trained and pleasant. Great place for after work get togethers and lunch. Will definitely be back.

Tina E.

Yelp
This was our first time at Bigalora. We had spaghetti and meatballs which were excellent. Our waitress Andrea we great. She was very personable and friendly, always checking to see if we needed refills and has an overall splendid attitude.

Joe B.

Yelp
Update: I can safely say this place has had zero improvement since my last visit. On a recent visit here, the waiter failed to properly give my instructions to the kitchen or the kitchen has no idea how to make a pizza anymore. If you have ever made pizza at home, you know that overloading the pizza with toppings means that it will come out too wet and you will not be able to eat it with your hands. This is Pizza 101 folks. My recent pizza here was so overloaded and wet I had to eat with a fork and knife. Also, there was enough oregano on it to cause me to sneeze, which is just unreal. Who the hell puts that much oregano on a pizza? I swear it must have been half a spice shaker's worth! It literally overpowered any other flavor I could taste. The only reason I tried this place again after a few bad experiences is because some friends wanted to meet us there. Next time I will suggest we meet somewhere else. Bottom line is this place is way downhill from when it opened and has show zero improvement in the last 3-4 years. They don't even run one of the ovens anymore which shows how slow they've gotten and how former customers shun this place. The owner and management simply don't care anymore and have zero interest in serving quality food. Go elsewhere if you want good pizza.

Yelp
We had a great experience. Sydney was our server and was excellent. There were six of us. We had a good time and service was top notch. Thank you, Sydney

Jade B.

Yelp
Had the best experience and amazing food. Coles service was above and beyond everything he suggested was amazing!!! Loved every minute will be back

Brian S.

Yelp
Excellent service. Cole and Devin were great. Food was fantastic! Great outdoor patio as well

Chris T.

Yelp
I had a fantastic meal again! Pizza was superb. Devin and Cole provided great service!

Kelly K.

Yelp
We have never been here before and it was the best place we have been in a while. The waitstaff were very pleasant and efficient. We will defiantly be back and tell our friends about the great food and wonderful staff.

Sandra Lola T.

Yelp
I'm only giving it 2 stars because the garden salad was ridiculously good and so was the margarita. However, I wanted pasta with no red sauce, just a garlic olive oil dressing. Not only did they consider this a custom order and charge more but it was horrible. Remember at ages 10-12 when u learned how to cook spaghetti on your own and didn't know to stir or add some oil so it wouldn't stick together. Well they didn't know. It was HORRIBLE! The pasta was clumped together and had absolutely no taste. Save ur money.
google avatar

Rob X.

Yelp
Good for families. Nice ambience and pretty good food as well. I had the Strozzapreti Norcina which was just ok but the wife had the wood beet salad which was very good. The kids had the cheese pizza and the rigatoni with meat sauce which was tasty as well.

Ron H.

Yelp
I recently went here with coworkers. The atmosphere was nice, the service and the beer was good. I wasn't really feeling the pizza though. I had the fungi pizza and the main part of the pizza was good. The part with the cheese and toppings. The rest was not that great and i didn't like the charred parts of the pizza. Maybe it's an acquired taste, but I don't want it. I would go back and see if I can order my pizza without the burn.

J J.

Yelp
This place is horrible. Customer service is rude. Pizza is basic. Ordered the special 5 large for $60 but my bill ended up being 120. Messed up a pizza. Had to drive back to get a new pizza. Horrible. Ruined lunch time
google avatar

Vincent L.

Yelp
Atmosphere is nice, but maybe not as rustic as Royal oak location Pizza are great, ingredients are fresh. The menu is for personal pizza, I thought it was going to be a big one to share among friends or family but whatever I found this place on top 10 pizzeria on Eaters. And they are right
google avatar

Lynn H.

Yelp
I've been to Bigalora several times now - (it's within walking distance of my house - yay!) - and it is better than A-OK; it's really good. Their pizza is deliciously rustic, with unusual, and inspired, flavor combos on the menu. Their pasta is also reliable delicious, I most recently had butternut squash ravioli in cream sauce with pine nuts. Yum! I've also had the mushroom fettucini a few times. It's my favorite thing on the menu. Their specialty cocktails are good, and there's a nice wine selection. The ambiance is also inviting - the main room is a big, airy space, but the tables are set up far enough apart that they feel plenty private. Service is friendly and efficient. If you're a pizza or pasta lover, this spot definitely deserves your attention.

Yelp
Great post work meal @bigaloracucina . First time. Fresh and flavorful. CHICKEN PARMIGIANA all natural cage free breast, house blend mozzarella, grana padano, rigatoni marinara. SUNDAY MEATBALLS grass-fed beef, marinara BURRATA roasted grape tomatoes, basil pesto, EVOO RIGATONI MARINARA tomato sauce, grana padano CHEF'S GARDEN romaine, tomato, cucumber, carrot, red onion, house blend mozzarella, herb vinaigrette

Mitch K.

Yelp
I so look forward to the pizza at Biga. I've gotten a specific custom pizza there for years. Over the last year I've suffered through several poor renditions. Yesterday not even the delightful Kelli at the bar could stop me from giving them a negative review. It's as if they don't have a standard amount of cheese or mushrooms or hot peppers to place on the pizza dough. Their ingredients are still first class-production is the problem. To summit up -I had a $$45 pizza that was so soggy I could barely pick it up. So disappointing -hope they get their act together.

Yelp
This is the second time we'd been to this restaurant opting for easier parking than Royal Oak. Great menu and decent food, but the service here is really lacking. The first time we'd went, the server took a while to see us and said the hostess didn't mark us as being at the table or something but she was perfectly pleasant and professional otherwise. Last night we got on the waitlist (no reservations available but half the tables were empty) and were seated around 6:30, after 15 minutes, we weren't acknowledged by anyone again and took off. I get everywhere is understaffed but it seemed like waitstaff didn't know our table was in their section - tables arriving after us got served before we did, etc. System issues? Too peculiar. Pop's for Italian never fails us, nor did they last night.
google avatar

Trai W.

Yelp
So I finally got a chance to try this place out. Really cozy and upbeat in the inside. I ordered the featured pizza, it was steak and caramelized onions within house mozzarella. I also tried the risotto balls. The pizza was really good and full of flavor and spices. I really liked the risotto balls, they were cheesy and the batter was pretty good. My favorite was the beers on draft!!!! Beer heaven!!!
google avatar

Anita P.

Yelp
Stopped for dinner not knowing really anything about this place. Very limited and specialized items. You can get gluten free and vegan Everything looked delicious. We had wood fired pepperoni pizza, wood fired olives and a Bigalora Chopped salad. Everything was fresh and yummy Next time we are going for the wood fired wings and Rigatoni with a big meat ball. It's not everyone's cup of tea so look at the menu before you get there. Our waitress was great as well.

Yelp
They messed up my delivery order. They put pepperoni on my fungi pizza and I don't eat pepperoni. The red pizza was terrible, they put so much red sauce and sauce looked like it was soupy and it tasted gross. Their Nutella pie dessert wasn't even Nutella, it was some random melted chocolate and it tasted like crap. Their fries were also terrible. All in all I took all the food and threw everything away and ordered from a different place. Waste of 90 dollars
