Came here for a quick snack in the afternoon. Service was quick and the staff was attentive. Food was amazing. Raw bar and cooked options are available. I ordered oysters and the scallops with a glass of white wine. I highly recommend!

My wife and I came here for dinner and tried a variety of seafood dishes: Mozambique calamari as a starter, cod fish risotto, octopus tacos, and steamed broccoli with harissa, feta, and yogurt sauce. Everything was well prepared and tasty, but the cod fish risotto really stood out, rich, flavorful, and surprisingly good! The atmosphere is nice, nothing too fancy, but relaxed. As for the prices, let’s say it’s not cheap, but fair considering the quality of the menu. Definitely worth it, especially for the risotto!

We had a wonderful celebratory lunch at this seafood restaurant for my husband’s birthday, and it exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious – especially the paella and pasta, which were both full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The variety of seafood available was impressive, offering something for every taste. But the highlight for me was the tuna steak – hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. The service was also excellent: friendly, attentive, and made our special day even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for seafood lovers and anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

This was my second visit and surely not the last. It’s been pleasure to experience top quality of fresh fish and seafood. There is no doubt The Big Fish Restaurant is best fish & seafood in Budapest if not further within Hungary. Simply excellent and worth to recommend. Go ahead…😎

I once came across this restaurant that soon became my favorite seafood place in Budapest. The products are super fresh and are well made with high precision. Prices are quite high but you get what you pay for.

I had a wonderful time here with my family today! We tried their mussels, oysters, king prawns and the sashimi selection. The wine they recommended, desserts and coffee were great too! It is on the pricier side but of course, it’s fresh sea food in Hungary haha Definitely will come back! For anybody wondering, you order at the counter and there is a menu on the wall as well as all the fresh fish under it that you can choose from. However there is a small menu for those that would like sushi and such like I did and enjoy the fish at its finest!

This is a different type of restaurant in that you order food at a counter and then wait for it to be delivered. Good selection of dishes. Quick to bring food but equally quick to clear dishes almost the moment you put your fork down even when others at the table have still to finish their meal. Hence the 4 stars for service. Having said that the waiting staff were friendly, helpful and polite at all times. The food itself was excellent. I chose octopus from the fresh fish counter and asked for it to be grilled. So fresh, moist and perfectly cooked. Not in any way tough or rubbery! I chose sides of spinach and mushroom which came in a light creamy sauce- again delicious. Sweet potato fries completed the course - some of the best I have tasted. My husband enjoyed his clam spaghetti too. We shared a dessert - the local sponge cake. I had never eaten this before and was very pleasantly surprised when it came - 3 little chunks of different sponge cake all light and airy with cream, a lovely light chocolate sauce and some fruit and nuts in the centre. I would eat it again. All washed down with some nice white wines and water. I would definitely recommend to try if you enjoy seafood.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the new menu at Big Fish and how they pivoted on customer experience. I think the food is good but needs to adhere to a theme or style. The Argentinian ceviche was paired with an Indian papadam, which is the worst pairing for how soupy it was. A slice of bakers bread or sour dough or a few nachos would’ve been ideal. The Fish and chips were brilliant but for the price I would add a salsa to keep to the latam theme in the menu. The paella was the best dish I tried at Big Fish
