Houston’s Best Sports Bars | Eater Houston

"The namesake bar of former Astros player Craig Biggio gives you a front-row feel of being at the game. Two 30-foot HD screens tower over rows of comfortable leather chairs and cocktail tables, where bargoers can indulge in a menu of game day favorites like ballpark pretzels, hot dogs, wings, and pizza. Cocktails, wine, and a large variety of local beers are also on offer." - Brittany Britto Garley

This place is attached to the Marriott Hotel but definitely worth a trip in. We sat at the bar and had the chicken tenders and fries . The Tenders were hand breaded not the frozen variety and absolutely delicious. They had a very light breading but full of flavor and had a nice crunch to them. They were served with a signature sauce which was also very tasty . The fries had great texture with a nice crunch , I ordered as a side item.My friend ordered the brined wings and they were amazing as well. They were juicy and full of flavor. You can choose the sauce you want on them or get the plain. If you’re down town Houston and want some great bar food I highly recommend. The bar tender was excellent and gave us recommendations and was happy to be there. That always helps !

For a hotel sports bar, the food was way better than I expected. The service was super fast and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. The chicken tenders and fries? So good. Perfectly crispy, seasoned well, and not overly greasy. Definitely a must-try. We also got the nachos and they were loaded—cheese, toppings, and you can add chicken too (which we did). It’s a big portion, like enough for 3–4 people easily. I’m eating the leftovers today, and even though the nachos are a little soggy (which is expected), they still taste really good. Not gross or overly oily—just solid comfort food. We went on a Monday afternoon so it was pretty chill, not crowded at all, and we even found easy street parking. All in all, great spot if you’re craving bar food done right.

Google
Good service. My son wanted to watch a Club Cup match, and they responded to his request. The only problem was the table wasn't balanced, but they helped me balance it. The sandwiches were delicious. Highly recommended..

Google
Typical sports bar with a pretty good happy hour (game days until 7th inning) with plenty of tvs. With many spots nearby closing kinda early this spot stays open pretty late. It’s dealing you land late and are starving. The pretzels for hh were very good and come in twos. And the burger was also pretty tasty. If you are staying at the hotel and want a bite and beer then this spot is a great choice

Google
The food is pretty good. I had the bison burger. It’s hard to find bison in Houston. They have a great kids menu. I enjoyed it. Because it’s attached to the hotel there is a 20% service charge before the gratuity.

Google
This location is on the first level of the Marquis Hotel. They have a huge bar area with several TVs that show different games. There are plenty of tables and booths to be seated at. Our server was friendly and prompt. The drinks were mixed well and delicious! Their french fries are seasoned!!! That's an all time win in my book! Everything tasted wonderful!

Google
Chili was good. TX twinkies had too much BBQ sauce, and bacon could've been cooked a bit longer. There are plenty of tvs and two large projection screens to watch sports on. The staff is friendly as well.

Laura Misch

Google
The tuna poke nachos were so damn good. The draft beer was freezing cold. And the Astros won. What more could you ask for. Oh yeah, the staff is amazing too. Great atmosphere. I'll be back.

Yelp
Perfect place to watch a game or hang out after the game. My family and I came after an Astros game. Location is great. Our waitress was nice and we ordered a few things to share (2 order of wings, nachos, and my mom had the lobster roll). There were 4 of us and we didn't eat everything, so the portions were filling. Perfect for group, date, or even solo. Totally recommend!

Yelp
Located inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel, Biggio's is a typical American restaurant with typical American style food. I ordered a cheeseburger and thought it was good but it didn't really light up the taste buds. The service was good. All in all, I'd go back if I were in the area but would not make a special trip if I were not already close. Bottom line - typical American bar type food with average taste. Worth trying if you're close but don't make a special trip.

Yelp
I had high expectations for Biggio's at the Marriott Marquis in Downtown Houston, but unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. From the start, we waited 10 minutes before a hostess even appeared to seat us. Once we were finally seated, it took another 20 minutes just to receive our drinks, and during that time, two different servers came by to take the same drink and appetizer orders, which added to the confusion. To make matters worse, our appetizers arrived at the same time as our entrees, which completely disrupted the flow of the meal. I was also shocked to be told that the sandwiches couldn't be altered because they were premade--this really limits your options if you have any preferences or dietary restrictions. As if that wasn't enough, the chili was served cold. The final disappointment was the automatic 18% service charge that was added to our bill, followed by a suggestion to leave an additional gratuity. We were not a large party, only 5 people. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and I can't recommend Biggio's based on this visit.

Yelp
We watched the LSU/Baylor Bowl game here and the bartenders were super friendly and efficient! The beer was super cold and we enjoyed it! We didn't eat but the ladies next to us had food with big portions! Can't critique the taste but they appeared to enjoy it! The setting is a sports bar with huge TVs. Yes, I recommend this place for game day!
google avatar

Shakia C.

Yelp
I came here after a game to enjoy some bar food. We split the nachos and wings. While my mom also had the lobster rolls. I didn't try it but enjoyed her fries. The wings and nachos were really good and perfect for sharing. The service was mediocre but the atmosphere is perfect for those looking to catch a game at a nicer bar.

Yelp
I've always wanted to check this place out so my friends and I stopped by to watch the hookem horns beat Michigan. Cons: paid parking/valet or metered street parking. It is inside the Marriott Marquis Everything is extra high rent because it not only is inside of a hotel but also a high rent hotel. So gather your coins together folks if you're coning here. Um the inside on the ground floor is very underwhelming and very mid. There's a hostess stand to the left and seating to the right. If you keep walking past the hostess station you arrive at the bar. A standard issue bar with the usual alcoholic offerings. Nothing special. There are a few large TVs barside and if you walk to the left a giant TV and other side tvs. Nothing special. Anyrate I ordered the poke nachos and albeit very large portions it wasn't that good. A pleasant surprise was that it was made with wonton chips. My margarita was good but not $20 good...plus it was even top shelf. Passss Anyrate I won't be back. Bar tender was cool but $50 for midrange food and a drink at a bar is not my ministry.

Yelp
Great place to watch sports but drinks are too expensive! Our bartender was very friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Biggio's was okay. The ambiance and air conditioning on such a hot day was great. The food was a tad commercial tasting. I generally love poke nachos but Biggio's nachos weren't my faves. They had some type of unagi sauce that wasn't to my liking, and they were over-the-top salty. I had about four nachos and pushed them to the side. They weren't simple enough; you know when someone takes a classic and convolutes it for no reason? That's what happened here; the attempt to be too creative didn't land well for me. They looked delicious, but fell a little short for me. Just use the tuna, avocado, jalapeños, green onions and some crispy fresh won tons. There's the winner! Additionally, we had salads which were decent, but they were still just okay. I can say I was no longer hungry but my pallet was not satisfied. The service was cool and our table was great. I'd give this restaurant an average rating. Not good or bad, but they didn't send me away saying, "ooo we have to come back here." Nonetheless, if you need a meeting space and somewhere comfy and quick, it's good for that.

Yelp
We were visiting and had to stop by for lunch. Craig Biggio was my favorite player growing up so of course we had to check this place out after a visit at Minute Maid and Discovery Green. We had lite bites only and the portion sizes were large. The whole place has a lot of natural light and is spacious. It would be a fun place to watch the Astos play. We went during a non-busy time so we had no trouble getting a table. The service was prompt and friendly.

Yelp
Great chicken tenders! Amazing service. Very pleasant ambiance. Inside of the Marriott hotel.
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
We came here with a group after work and got seated promptly. The bar is pretty big and they have a huge screen so I can definitely see how this would be a great spot for watching games. We placed our drink orders and unfortunately 2 of the beers we wanted were sold out. For starters we tried the nachos and the pretzel. The were both really good! For the entree, I had their ribs and they were not the best. The fries were delicious though!
google avatar

Tamika J.

Yelp
I was in Houston for a conference and it tried Biggio's. The servers were nice, but they did not explain upcharge if you wanted to change a side. I ordered a chicken sandwich because it's usually a safe bet. Not at this place. The chicken to bun ratio was terrible. I definitely had more bun than bread and sauce made the sandwich inedible. The salad was honestly the best part of the meal. I went to a jazz bar after to listen to music and didn't know they served an upscale soul food menu. I wish I would have known.
google avatar

Kat R.

Yelp
Two years ago this place was amazing. Now it's just terrible. Servers seemed like they didn't care to be there. Food was meh and the beer on tap tasted spoiled. The table was wobbly and the chairs were worn out. Save yourself some money and don't eat here. Only good thing was the chili.
google avatar

Brad R.

Yelp
Stop by for a late night snack but this was a lot of good food to snack on. I chased it down with a Dos Crete beer. This place is very spacious for a sports bar. The service was great

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on a Saturday and table for 3 was ready immediately. Although we had hoped to sit outside because the weather was nice, there was no outside seating today. Ordered 3 entrees and all were quick and tasty. Nice presentation of everything- even the kids meal. Our waitress was nice and stopped several times to check on us. The pineapple margarita was especially tasty. The prices are a bit steep ($90 for two adults and one child for lunch). The prices are my only reason for not getting 5 stars. This is a great spot for burgers in downtown. Right across the street from the George R. Brown Convention Center. Just bring plenty of money for the food.
google avatar

Jeff N.

Yelp
First let me preface this by saying that Biggio's is located inside the Marriott hotel and everything is higher price then it should be but it is also downtown and next to Minute Maid park. Got to Biggio's early at 11-11:15am as we did t want to not have an issue getting a seat or taking to long for food to arrive.. When we arrived the place was 1/3 full and seated quickly and our waitress Valerie took our drink order Valerie was awesome, explained and answered our questions and then took our order. We order the yard bird (chicken Sandwich $17) it comes with chips that seemed to be homemade and some really good pickles. This sandwich at any regular place in a regular area of a town would be $10-$12 We also ordered a dirty dog (chili dog) Approx $17-$19 but it was a 100% beef frank and 1 foot long on a nice bun that was more like a nice roll cut in center and fries. The fries were awesome. Now most will say you paid what for a hotdog? Well it is over priced but but tasted really good. We also order a bacon cheeseburger and fries and it too was really good but approx $18-$20 way over priced. By the time we got our food which was pretty quick the place filled up and was packed. And when we walked out to go to the game the bar was also packed with 3-4 rows of people standing and watching the tvs. This place was pretty cool, looks like it may have been remodeled??? As everything looked clean and new. I will come back next game I go to as it is a once in awhile thing you do and the higher price is not a big issue as long as you go in understanding it is higher price since location and inside the Marriott.

Yelp
I liked a lot of things about this place. Beautiful and gorgeous. Clean even though it was very busy due to the convention. I had a good time. The TVs were playing with sound which is oddly not done at bars unless its a big game so... big appreciation for that. I loved the drinks the bartenders are so nice and friendly. Overall great place that i'd love to go to again
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
We were staying at the Marriott and came here for dinner since it was late. Between us, we had tacos and meatballs. Service and food were decent. The restaurant has a lot of tv's and seemed to be great for the crowd staying games at the stadium nearby. Overall cool place.
google avatar

Michari L.

Yelp
Went here for a happy hour after work and enjoyed the atmosphere. full of sport fans. This particular day service was a little slow as it was busy but overall a great experience.
google avatar

Tasha W.

Yelp
Great place to watch games, tons of TVs and tons of seating, and they've also been very accommodating for my large family. Food and drinks are good as well.....some may find the price point a bit high, but to be in the middle of downtown, it's not that bad to me. Location is at the bottom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel, so very convenient for those staying there. My only issue came after my last visit when we received our checks, our initial tabs showed 1 total with gratuity added, but once our cards were swiped, somebody or the system added an additional amount, without that receipt being itemized, there was no way to know where that extra amount came from. I immediately found our server and she immediately fixed everyone's checks. Very much appreciated, but I must say, pay attention to your tabs, who knows how many times this error has happened and it's gone unnoticed.
google avatar

Matthew V.

Yelp
It wasn't crowded at all, so I sat at the bar to watch the Sunday football games.. Service was good and friendly... I ordered some wings and fries with sweet Thai chili sauce on the side.. Plenty of TV's' and plenty of space available, the ambience was nice and had a dope playlist of music playing as well..
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
The best thing about this experience was the ice water. We ordered Buffalo wings. They were cold and lacked any flavor, similar to wings from a pizza chain. We also ordered a Flagship Chicken sandwich, it was meh. We ordered the Bacon Cheddar burger, bottom bun was soggy and fell apart. The fries were freezer fries. Chicken strips were good, but you shouldn't mess that up. Overall, Chili's and Applebees is better than this and it's double that price. Surprisingly this is even served at such a nice hotel. Oh yeah we ordered sold fashions and they were Served with ice cubes not the large single cube. We went in expecting bar food but not this level. Yard House and Whiskey cake are way better in terms of quality and flavor,
google avatar

Jeff G.

Yelp
Best fries ever! Burgers pretty good too. Cool spot to hangout and people watch before the game Friendly service.
google avatar

LeeAnn J.

Yelp
Biggio's is always a fun place to stop in and have a bite to eat. The food is good (wish they had more to choose from) but it is what it is. The atmosphere is great, and service here has been good each time we have visited. Not to mention the variety of music playing in the background which if you're not careful will definitely find yourself moving and grooving to the beat!
google avatar

Nikki J.

Yelp
The ambiance was nice. The music playing was a great current mix of various varieties. Not too loud so that people could enjoy their conversations. Seemed to be a popular spot, convenient because it was located in the hotel. Service was also good. The waiter was attentive and kept the water refilled without asking, which is a plus for me. In to the food, which was very lack luster. Typical bar food but filling based on what you chose. The queso was very bland but served its purpose for something light to eat before heading to the airport. The wings seemed to be the preferred item. The waiter made a great suggestion on dipping sauces to use and mix, which was excellent. The naked wings were the highlight.
google avatar

Joanna Z.

Yelp
honestly p good. i lowk thought it was gonna be mediocre bc it's a hotel restaurant but im pleasantly surprised by the food. my burger was p solid. i enjoyed the avocado and the pickled jalapeños and overall a solid 3.5-4/5 i didn't have the steak or the wings but my bf said the burger was "interesting but it was ok". and the wings were just regular wings but def better than fast food places
google avatar

Yelp
Location Houston near Astro stadium-inside Marriott hotel. ( go to main entrance, turn right-outside doors are for exiting). Fun fact Named for former Astro hall of fame player Parking Valet hotel ( we walked from stadium) Seating We found a place at the bar-this place is super popular-go early! Check with hostess for table seating. Service Friendly, immediate Atmosphere Classy, energetic hotel bar Menu Full bar-they have food but we didn't look at that menu. We had margaritas-hotel priced but well worth it! So good! Summary Best place to go after the game for a drink! Very energetic-good place to people watch!
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
Tuna Poke nachos were good. The quantity of the fried wontons to the toppings were a bit imbalanced. Overall, I liked it, but it was not impressive enough that I would reorder. I don't recall the name of the aperol cocktail I ordered. It was very refreshing balance of citrus and orange bitters. Great for a hot summer day. It won't fill you up or weigh you down.

Quintella J.

Yelp
Food was excellent!!! service was excellent and great environment!!! Chef was amazing
google avatar

Janet N.

Yelp
My husband met up with his friend staying at the Marriott so they went to the bar while the kids and I ordered our food. The hostess was not friendly or welcoming at all. We told her a table for 4 and she just walked us to our table drop the menu and left. Server came and was not much better. Since the kids were hungry I decided to stay. The kids loved their max and cheese. I enjoyed my salad once I got the right dressing. My husband enjoyed his wings. I like the location of the restaurant and the food is good. Only problem is with the price of the food being a bit pricy I wished we had better service.
google avatar

Erica G.

Yelp
The food was good, but not great flavors were good. Two of us had burgers, and they were so greasy the buns were soggy. However the fries and ranch almost redeemed the meal, but at $21 per burger, I'd say pass next time. My son had the pork belly Mac and cheese for $25. The chunks of meat were delicious, but the actual Mac and Cheese was not good. At $25, you'd think the mac and cheese would be rich and creamy and that it maybe their specialty, however it was not. We are no stranger to great Mac and cheese, but this was not it. The reason for the 3rd star, the service was impeccable. Great waitresses and staff, and the restaurant was very clean and fun atmosphere.

J M.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviewed and let me tell you about this staff at Biggio's. They are always so attentive and energetic whenever I'm there which is often sometimes. John is always top notch and just puts the finishing touches on the experience. Me and some friends come for the sports / good and always leave just happy as calms whenever we John as our server. So if you're looking for an amazing spot with a great staff / server Biggios's is definitely the place to be and make sure to ask for John. He'll take amazing care of you.

Yelp
Really great food great drinks Service was great Ambiance was amazing And the good pretzel

Yelp
I ordered the nachos and they came out cold. Couldn't even follow up with my server because he didn't come back for a long time. I was so hungry, I just ate them and left. Nachos aren't that difficult to get right. I can't imagine what the other food is like. No drink refills because server just wasn't around. I gave 2 instead of 1 star because if you're looking for a giant screen to watch the game on, they've got that.

Blanca G.

Yelp
I had a terrible experience at Biggio's on September 28th and wouldn't recommend it. I gave it a 1-start rating only because there's no option for a zero. When my food arrived, I found a hair in my tortilla chips. I immediately informed the server who brought the food out who removed the hair and tossed it to the ground, leaving the tacos on the table. I had to wait for the actual waiter who took the tacos away and brought new ones. Unfortunately, the tacos were bland and overrated. We also ordered BBQ fries, which didn't arrive until halfway through the meal after we reminded the waiter. Because of the experience, I expected the manager to come over and apologize, especially for the hair in the food, but no one ever did. When the check arrived there was no discount, which is common practice in restaurants when something goes wrong with the food. I asked to speak with the manager. When I requested a discount given the situation, she reluctantly removed the fries from the tab only as she said the corrective action for the mistake on the tacos was already resolved because they remade the tacos. This is poor customer service and bad management. Telling a customer " we fixed it because we made you a new order" doesn't address the bad experience. I was thoroughly disappointed. Biggio's might have a big name, but it fell short on every level. Liz Pina needs additional management training to learn how to better handle situations like this demonstrate genuine hospitality.

Brenda T.

Yelp
Service was slow. Food was okay but not worth the price. The cocktails were nice May have ben the time of night
google avatar

Ardara H.

Yelp
The hot dog was really good. I was surprised with the taste and freshness of each bite. The service was highly attentive and friendly. The Associate made sure we were okay and needed for nothing. The Ambiance was of Houston's after game ballpark feel.
google avatar

Amber A.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for the Texans playoff game! The whole place was lit! The servers could have came around more. They switched on us and didn't refill basic water. But food was great. I'd definitely go back to eat and watch a game.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
After the Astros beat that hated team from Baja Oklahoma in a 1-0 nailbiter last night, I decided to have a food nightcap here. Biggio's is named after the Hall of Fame second baseman who played his nearly 20-year career in Houston. Located inside the Marriott Marquis in Downtown Houston, it's mere walking distance from the ballpark he produced so many highlights in. I go to a few Astros games, and I've been lucky enough to where my visits to Minute Maid Park resulted in wins. When my favorite teams win, I usually like to eat somewhere before going home. And that's how I found myself here. Biggio's, let me just say that you make a superb mushroom pizza. I'm not sure if it's baked in a wood oven, but it tasted like it was. I loved how it arrived at my table hot and fresh. It was gone in one sitting.

Matt D.

Yelp
It's a Vibe! Good food, Great Atmosphere and crowd, Bar tenders are great host and makes amazing drinks.

Crystal M.

Yelp
Freaking Delicious!!! They were quick and so friendly!!! Definitely coming back!! The ambience is great and seats are comfy!!
google avatar

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Biggio's drives a higher price but everything they do is executed well. You won't be disappointed on the quality. The bar is super cool, can sit on the lower or upper floor.
google avatar

Jenny G.

Yelp
Im writing this review as I've been sitting here for 40 minutes already waiting for my food to arrive. It is a Saturday, now 2:40 pm. and the restaurant is not busy at all. I ordered a lemonade, some nachos and my husband a burger. My drinks were brought out but I'm still waiting for even the nachos that were on the appetizer section. I could have gone outside to the street trucks but my husband said if we'd go in the restaurant it may be quicker than waiting in the long lines outside. I'm so disappointed!! They finally brought the nachos out only to see they have ground beef on them. I clearly told them no meat. I cancelled my order as I was not about to wait another 40 minutes. What a disappointment! Not recommended!
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
I came here for a quick and relaxed dinner. I was seated right away. The server came quickly to take my order. He kept my water glass full. There were huge screens to watch sports. I had the Bacon Cheddar Burger which was so tasty. I ordered an "opening day" cocktail and it was so refreshing. Highly recommend!

Robin R.

Yelp
Terrell the lead cook was amazing. We asked to see the cook be a the food was so good. I highly recommend this restaurant. Very good vibes

Yelp
Shortly after arriving in Houston we could see "Biggios" out of our hotel room window so we decided to head there for dinner. Biggios sits in the Marriot Marquis which has "The Lazy River" on the 6th floor deck so we thought we'd stop in for a drink but we were told that there was a $40 entrance fee just to go outside so we obviously rejected that & headed downstairs to the restaurant. We sat down & ordered the Brisket Taco & a Cheeseburger. Both were decent but nothing special whatsoever & the service as well as the ambience were pretty ordinary. One final note was almost immediately after sitting down we noticed the silverware wasn't dirty but it was stained badly which we brought to the attention of our waitress which she proclaimed "don't worry, all of our silverware looks like that".......ODD!
google avatar

Ryan W.

Yelp
Had a great time! Got to sample some free beers, huge screens to watch any sporting event. Staff was great and friendly!! Would highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Had a couple of draft beers and loaded nachos today/Sunday, May 1,2022. Staying at the Marriott Hotel for a conference so decided to try this place out. First it was only 3:45 pm and the hostess and waitstaff looked like they were done for the day. We asked to sit at a booth and were told that that was for 6 people and we were only 2 people. They tried HARD to get us to sit at the bar which was very crowded. They finally agreed to let us sit in the restaurant area on some comfy coaches. The service is just there not much personally as was were the loaded nachos. The only good thing we're the nice cold beers. I do NOT recommend this place for food. Beers, YES! Not impressed!!

Alex B.

Yelp
Horrible service, waited 45 minutes and we only got glasses of water. When we told that to one of the waitresses (short build with black hair and glasses) she laughed. Would not recommend coming here and spending any money because you will spend at least over $100 on TRASH service.
