Bij Hammingh

As far as I'm concerned one of the most beautiful establishments in Groningen. Beautifully situated on the water and a beautiful original interior. I enjoyed the shrimp croquettes with aioli. They also have many more delicious dishes such as the surprise lunch.

What an awesome place. I have lived in the region for over twenty years and this is absolutely the best restaurant in the North of the Netherlands. Very interesting dishes, great pairing wines and a very friendly and personal staff. And the location is super and the building very historic. I absolutely recommend this place.

Staff seemed overwhelmed, the service we revived was terrible. Wait staff just didn't seem to notice us. We got our food after a while, and then our drinks about 15mins later. Then we discovered this was a smoking place, the lady right next to us was blowing it our way and holding her cigarette just 40cm away. I would never have sat here if the bar had bothered to put up a sign to designate that is was smoking restaurant. I discussed this with the wit staff as to why they didn't separate smokers from non smokers and he didn't seem to bothered, like it was my own issue. Beer was good, and toasties was fine, but the experience here was poor. We wont be going back or bringing anyone here again.

It was a pretty windy day, and after sightseeing the windmill we decided to have a cup of tea at the Café: it's a very cozy place, friendly staff and nice view. I also took a Groninger Cake, which was fairly good.

Even though 15.00 hours had passed, they still made some food for us. (The kitchen was supposed to be closed.) Had a very tasty lunch.

One of the best places on one of the best locations in the province of Groningen to go. Absolute must! And dont forget to try the 'Groningse mosterdsoep'

We went for a small bite...ended up having a huge lunch (: Perfect location to rest after long cycling day.

Everything about our experience there recently was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious and the presentation was five stars! The service was professional and attentive and the setting was spectacular!
