Quite possibly the best iraqi shawarma I have ever had in Dallas. It was so juicy and delicious, the meat is seasoned to perfection. This place is busy during lunch time and for good reason; the food is amazing. 1000/10 would reccomend you to try this place and especially their shawarma.

Google
Love the food! We ordered a takeaway of the chicken/beef shawarma platter along with a kabob. For a later snack it’s worth trying one of the meat, cheese or zaatar pies (price is a bit steep). It gets very busy here on Friday after Jummah prayers and on Muslim holidays so seating might be a bit tight. Overall, if you love Middle Eastern/Mediterranean you should definitely try it!

Google
Delicious food, cozy atmosphere. The mixed shawarma platter hits the spot. Fresh ingredients, very generous portions, and delightfully pleasant staff. You also get oven-fresh bread with your meal ❤️ Quick food prep is a big positive as well. The perfect go-to spot for a quick meal with friends or family.

Google
The place is impeccably clean and well-organized. We frequently enjoy breakfast there. Finding a seat is always easy, and the food is delicious. The service is commendable, and the prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes. This place exemplifies a simple yet excellent Arabic restaurant.

Google
they keep increasing their prices along with other halal restaurants !!!!! nonetheless, it still less than 20 dollars a plate that maybe fill up two people rice on top of chicken and meat shawarma with 2 sides and bread which i did enjoy. it is good but to be honest it can hit and miss because sometimes the chicken and beef come dry and burn and others just ok

Google
Very nice, quality food. The portions are large and great for sharing. The menu could use some help, but it's a cozy and sweet little place.

Google
Amazing food! This is the food you get when you travel to the Middle Eastern. Authentic, tasty, fresh. Ordered two pots of tea, the first wasn’t as hot as it should’ve been. The second was perfect. Needed to add two plates in the middle of our meal, it took them longer because it was busy. I should’ve ordered more but also was hoping my additional plates would’ve been prioritized. All in all, I recommend it and will be coming back.

Google
This menu is a perfect example of homemade flavors! The shawarma varieties look particularly fresh and appetizing. The hummus and mixed shawarma options provide a great opportunity for those wanting to try different tastes. The Fattah shawarma is ideal for anyone looking for a rich and hearty choice. These flavors promise to deliver a true feast for the palate!

Yelp
Still love this place! Fresh Arabic bread made daily. Get there early to get it before it sells out. Shawarmas are made with Iraqi bread, but they are delicious even if you are used to the traditional Arabic pita bread. Ask for everything and spicy if you like lots of flavor and texture. Cash and standard credit cards accepted here. Sadly American Express is not. Counter allows you to order and wait standing up to go. There are a few tables where you can dine in if that is your preference. The small staff work quickly handling both. They are kind and very helpful.

Yelp
Bilad Restaurant is my beloved middle eastern place to fulfill my dream about the sliced shawarma & middle eastern side dishes for more than 30 years, just didn't have the whatever reason to write about it. But not today when my craving come, just stop by there to get 2 lbs of beef shawarma, a small pack of Hummus, a small pack of Baba Ghanoush, a small pack of Tabbouleh, a small pack of mixed pickled veggies, a large garlic source & two pack of pita breads, these will less me & my wife the whole day to consume with enjoyment until the next craving! just remember the restaurant will be closed on Thursday!

Yelp
So glad my mechanic recommended this place! Our first couple of visits only consisted of beef & chicken shawarma wraps. But this last visit, we also had Falafel, Shawarma Rice & Cheese Pie. You can order take out at the counter, or just sit down to dine in. Food does not take long to arrive, after ordering. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
This is your quintessential hole in the wall in the best way. The food portions are huge and easily shareable. Almost everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite was the mixed platter that had a variety of dips. The warm pita bread with those dips was absolutely delicious. The sharwarma combo was good and the amount of meat we got was a lot. We shared it between two of us and still had leftovers. As someone who loves pickles, I loved their assorted pickles with so many different veggies. Service was friendly and quick. There's a grocery store attached to it as well if you have the need for it.

Yelp
I when there on a whim because I was near by. As I was waiting on my food this lady was gushing about how good it was so I had high expectations. They didn't disappoint. This is the best shawarma that I have ever had. I got the combo plate so it came with chicken and beef. Both were amazing; so well seasoned. The hummus that came with it is incredible too. So good

Yelp
Always return because this place is authentic. Best time to go is before 4pm to get the best pieces of food
google avatar

Rena G.

Yelp
Authenticity! Good food. Decent prices considering. Many of the locals favor this place. Restaurants get their bread from here.

Asha G.

Yelp
Really fresh middle eastern food. Highly recommend. Large portions for the price. Had the falafel and beef shawarma platter. The lentil soup also delicious.

Shenzi H.

Yelp
Veryclean, great service and tasty entres. very fresh bread made inhouse for the shawarma. I recommend this place.

Yelp
Amazing customer service and the food was beyond delicious and flavorful! If I want to pick up some fresh bread or any seasonings and spices they have it!

Yelp
This is one of the original halal restaurants in the Dallas area, and one of the most well known Mediterranean restaurants amongst the local community. Starting in Iraq in the 70s, a whole family brought tradition, quality and hospitality alongside their delicious recipes. Service here is exactly what you'd expect from a family operation, they know their entire menu well and can easily recommend tailored options to guests new and old. There's a self-service aspect to it, but that comes with the territory. The main attraction here is the shawarma, and trust me when I tell you, it's the best in DFW. Get there early in the day on the weekend, and you'll taste something you won't find anywhere else. For a few years they would sell out of one or both of their Chicken & Beef shawarma every day of the week. Plus their Iraqi bread is quite literally something you won't find elsewhere, because it's their recipe and made for their food. It's truly an experience of its own. From Iraq to Dallas, TX, this family has brought the best of their culture to the people of America, and alongside their bakery and grocery store, you too can partake in the culture. I only wish they would move to a bigger location where they could offer more seating, but until then I highly recommend you check them out!
google avatar

Kezia M.

Yelp
Great food and great price-portion ratio! Would come again. Line and wait time is long and the chances of getting a seat inside is rare depending on time of day.

Yelp
9/6/22: Great family restaurant and bakery. Their beef and chicken are sliced thin to order and they taste really good. The salad selection looks fresh. Prices are very reasonable and they serve nice sized portions. The restaurant is cozy and clean. Very nice atmosphere, and they stay pretty busy. Parking is adequate, although it can be a bit congested at times. There's a small grocery store next store which is a part of the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Shawarma salad was great, its definitely something I would reorder. The kebbe sandwich however wasn't great. The ambience and service could be improved as well.

Yelp
Best Schwarma in NE Dallas county brought us in the first time 10 years ago, and all TV did other outstanding Mediterranean foods plus all the fresh baked breads and sweets keep us coming back again and again. We love Bilad - and we have never had a bad meal here. When we eat in, the service is fast, gracious and attentive. When we carry out, our food is packed carefully so it doesn't spill or get messy. We love their beef or chicken schwarmas, which are roasted in front of your eyes and can be made spicy if you wish. Other faves are their smooth creamy hummus, generous olive plate, bright fresh tabbouleh, and mixed spicy pickles. Lentil soup is great on a cold day - today it's 100 degrees so we are respectfully skipping the soup! We highly recommend the Iraqi bread, but you can't go wrong with any of their breads baked in-house daily. They have Iranian bread as well as basic pitas and Afghan bread. Get one of each and have a bread tasting!! 5 authentic hand-crafted made with love stars!

Charley K.

Yelp
Great place for a chicken swarms on Iraqi bread. It's a neighborhood bakery/cafe with a small grocery containing lots of middle eastern branded foods and other items. Nothing fancy, but always busy at lunch before prayers at nearby mosque. Was closed on Thursdays party time I checked.

Yelp
Food is delicious and affordable. The quality of food is great. Even though it was my first time coming here yesterday. I wasn't sure what to order. But the lady at the counter was pretty helpful and nice. I'll be coming back here
google avatar

Verena E.

Yelp
We drove est one hour to get these delicious Middle Eastern food from our place and it's totally worth it to try. I also like their tamarind drink.

Yelp
One of my go to middle eastern food places. Ordered to-go today. Killed it on the prep, time and customer service. Nice size plates. Delicious food.Beef kabobs we're so good. The lady that took our order got it correct even with all the modifications.

Hanah A.

Yelp
Their beef and chicken shawarma was amazing, their bread was amazing perfectly toasted falafel was very good and their tea was splendid absolutely recommend this place!!

Yelp
I have been coming here for a few years now. It's amazing how such a small restaurant can be so efficient and courteous to all of its patrons. The food is immaculate. It tastes so authentic. The space is a bit small but the taste is out of this world! I would recommend the falafel sandwich but the kabob is out of this world. Something about Iraqi food has always felt like home. That's how you feel being at Bilad, you feel like you're having a home cooked meal.

Yousef H.

Yelp
The place is so dirty, flys, mosquitoes, and roaches everywhere. it has a wired smell
google avatar

Ammar A.

Yelp
Decent food for price, we took our order to go. Try to be there between 12:30 to 2:30 to get the fresh shawarma
google avatar

Yelp
Best hummus and baba in town hands down!! My husband will also baklava, meat and cheese pies! All incredibly delicious! One of our favorite go to places.

Mouj S.

Yelp
Love the food and the service! Super nice owners, and great authentic Iraqi food! It's my to go to spot for Iraqi food! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This morning we had an exceptionally delicious breakfast/brunch at Bilad, a small but mighty Iraqi bakery. While the space is small and a bit cramped, the service, available at the counter or table side is warm. With our senses fully engaged, we proceeded to over order- shawarma, kebab, everything chickpea, cheese and meat pies, and Turkish coffee. Everything was delicious, but the true highlights were the baked goods and the shawarma, which was perfectly and freshly carved off the spit. All of the servings were generous, so we left with over three to go boxes. I'm already daydreaming about the leftovers and my next trip.

Geri H.

Yelp
Went with a friend who is middle eastern and had no idea what anything was. I looked at the menu and had her explain everything to me and decided on the beef Shawarma sandwich. To my surprise it was outstanding. Not good - it was outstanding. It was full of flavor and checked every box for my taste buds! Loved it, But I must say I was stuffed by the time I'd finish that sandwich! You definitely get your money's worth here!! My friend got some sample so I could try a few different things. Yum - all were very tasty. There was something that was wrapped in grape leaves that I really liked. I knew, in spite of the really long drive from our home, I'd definitely be coming back ... and lo and behold the following weekend we had to be in Richardson! I took my husband there as I knew he would love the Shawarma sandwich. He surprised me and got a sampler platter (chicken and beef) which was stacked so high with food you could barely close the lid! He loved it but we ended up taking home enough food for EACH of us to have another full dinner. I highly recommend this place. It's not a fancy or gorgeous place to go and eat but the food is well worth the trip!

Yelp
Omg the Chicken Shwarma was delicious and I got mine extra spicy and they gave me exactly what I wanted. Absolutely delicious!!!
google avatar

Mustafa A.

Yelp
Most awful middle eastern food I had ever taste, the beef shawarma was tasteless and dry! Also, VERY poor customer service, and awkward communication!
google avatar

Abodi O.

Yelp
BEST OF ALL!! Everything here is good , fresh and HOT! Very authentic food made with love

Erika S.

Yelp
Hands down the best shawarma I've ever had. The Iraqi bread is such a nice touch. Cooked to perfection and super well-priced. I come by once a week.
google avatar

Luis G.

Yelp
PROS *Enjoyed chicken shawarma's Iraqi bread. *Like trying new types of cuisine. *$6 is a good deal. CONS *Sauce did not work for me at all -- too mayonnaise-heavy or something. *Service was friendly but somewhat slow.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
This is the best hidden secret for bakery goods and Shawarma. Make the Drive from Dallas or Plano and have some of the best shawarma you will ever have. Best sauces and best bakery for Mediterranean food. Trust me. This place is amazing. The owners are nice and the have an Iraqi grocery store nextdoor as well. Break out of your bubble and try this place out.

Keith C.

Yelp
Yummy, authentic, visited by mostly locals from the nearby community ... and that says something! A definite must diner style setting with a friendly & smiling staff.

Yelp
I keep falling in love with this place again n again. It's always been our goto place for mediterranean food. Their breads are out of this world. Specially the Iraqi Bread - Looooooove it.. It's so soft n fresh, n very very close to the kulcha we get in India. Remember to get there in the morning though - so much is the popularity that they run out of it very quickly. I could only get them 2 times in 9 months because I was always late, n they ran out of it :-)
google avatar

Yelp
While this place isn't Lebanese (it's Iraqi), they do make some good Middle Eastern dishes and they make their own pita bread too. I thought that their pita bread was tasty even though they do not have the thin pita bread which is what I always am on the lookout for. Taking its cue from their tasty breads, they also have mana'eesh (arabic pizzas/pies), although they're a bit thicker than normal, and use a different kind of cheese for their cheese pies. I'm accustomed to seeing akawi cheese used, but here they use some kind of yellow and white cheese combination that I'm not familiar with quite yet. Still, for $1.50 each, they're tasty, filling, and a steal. Of the four pies they offer, I recommend the za'atar and the veggie. I have yet to try the other offerings, but I plan to soon since I have been pleased with them so far. When I do, I'll update the review further. Atmosphere: Good market atmosphere with few tables and chairs Service: Friendly

Melinda I.

Yelp
Exceptional, phenomenal food. Shawmera, falafel sandwiches are fantastic and the catering we received?? 10/10.

Yelp
So authentic and tasty! What a neighborhood gem. Love the diversity this place brings to Richardson. I love their sandwiches. Their bread is also good. I will go back to try more items.

Yelp
Very good option. Food fresh and plate sizes are fair. Desserts are delicious ! We love this place.

Yelp
I visited Bilad for a weeknight dinner. It wasn't very busy, and the service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the za'atar (and other) pita "pies" were sold out when I arrived; I'll have to come back sometime earlier in the day to try some. The atmosphere is very laid-back and casual, and the prices are awesome, especially for the vegetarian choices. Your meal will start with some extraordinarily good bread, served with olive oil mixed with za'atar (an oregano based seasoning blend). I ordered the foul (a fava bean dish). They also have falafel, hummus, and baba ghanoush for those looking for vegetarian options. (I assume these choices are vegan, but I didn't double-check.) Vegetarian entrees are about $6 and a good portion. We asked for water and were given bottles; I'm not sure if they'll give you tap water instead if you request it. Meat entrees are $12 and an even bigger portion. I don't eat meat so I didn't try it, but the friend who had some loved it. There's a bakery next door, so it's worth having a meal and then stocking up on ingredients. Next time I'll plan to order extra bread to take home!

Yelp
Hummus: A+ (stand next to woman making it and ask her to add what you want) Meat Sandwiches: C- not tasty Falafel sandwich: A (crispy falafel, soft homemade bread) Customer Service: F / honestly really poor customer service. I'm normally dreading walking in the door. Very awkward communication, ordering process: order at the counter by the front entrance door. Serious lady yells the order to the deli worker standing directly behind you. English is not easily understood anywhere in the shop. Bread: A+ so good and homemade, the round bread is often gone by the time late afternoon comes so get it early. Too bad the customer service isn't better or I would come back much more.

Virginia H.

Yelp
Fresh food made to order, large portions. I always enjoy eating here. Also their fresh made breads are wonderful and I always get some to take home. Small seating area so don't come in the middle of lunch hour. I always try to get there a little early. Highly recommend to anyone.

Abdullah A.

Yelp
Delicious food. Especially the cheese pie! The bread is so fresh and tasty. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
I've taken out from this absolute gem twice.... and I am just so impressed! Excelllllllllent flavors, everything is super fresh, even on a Sunday evening. The staff are very polite and helpful. I could literally drink their garlic sauce! Hummus is delish and perfect! Meat is moist and super tasty. All types of their bread are soft and fresh.... 5 stars for sure!!!

Yelp
I've had middle eastern food before, and was craving something similar to it and I am very happy we came here and found this place because I really enjoyed this meal, we ordered the beef and chicken shawarma plates, which came with a small salad , hummus , another sauce and rice. The amount of food was huge and we probably could've shared but we came hungry and finished almost everything. The hummus was my favorite because it was so light and creamy, but honestly everything was flavorful and delicious. Next time I want to try a sandwich. Im planning on bringing my sister when she comes into town to visit from Los Angeles. I know she will enjoy it as much as I did.
google avatar

Yasser A.

Yelp
Always a solid choice for shawarmas and other entrees. They make their bread fresh with every order and I was feeling a light meal so my wife and I got the meat hummus with meat on top. It's plenty for 2 people to share with the hummus being smooth and the mixed meat cooked really well. Definitely will be back more often since it's close to my house

Yelp
I was hesitant to come here, considering some of the negative reviews I saw. The main complaints I saw were terrible service, dusty soda cans, and terrible tasting shawarmas. All of these complaints are far from the truth! If anything, this humble establishment serves delicious and affordable food. The moment I looked at the prices, I knew I was in for a big meal. The waiter/cashier was very friendly and suggested how I could order all my food within a nice package. I ended up getting a medium platter of hummus, baba ghanoush, and dolmas, with a meat pie, beef shawarma, and one falafel (I was happy that I could just order one!) Keep in mind all of this was delicious and only costs 11 dollars! They offer free Iraqi bread with seasoned oil at every table. That bread is addictive. but my first bite was a little off putting, since I was expecting a similar texture to normal pita bread. Iraqi bread has a bit more of a doughy chew to it. Dont be alarmed like I was, cause its still really damn good. Also make sure to scoop from the bottom of the oil bowl to get all the seasoning. The hummus is super creamy and smooth. This was almost as good as the hummus from the House of Gyros. Their dolmas are probably the best Ive had from a restaurant. They were fresh, with the right amount of seasoning, oil, and good texture. I could have ate a dozen of those! From all the experiences Ive had with baba ghanoush, this was probably the best one Ive had. The texture is not for everyone, but it was overall enjoyable. I would more than likely stick wth just the hummus though. The falafel they served was fresh from the fryer so it was piping hot. Texture wise it was exactly what I wanted. Flavor wise, Ive had better, although it was all the way in San Jose. But within the DFW, its still good. Those beef shawarmas are phenomenal! Everything about it was wonderful! The right amount of vegetables, the freshness of the ingredients, the robust flavor of the meat, and the bread was warm and soft. The only way they could improve it is by making the meat a little warmer. Other than that, Im stll drooling over them as I type this. Those meat pies are kinda mediocre in flavor. They taste no different from a store bought pizza from walmart. But considering it was only 1.50, I cant complain. But I certainly wouldnt recommend it. This is not a fancy, romantic environment for a date. This is a modest, cramped bakery/restaurant that serves great good at a great price. I cant wait to go back here!
google avatar

Lynda T.

Yelp
This is a small family owned restaurant/bakery that should never be judged by the looks of its exterior (or even the lack of service that you may get from standing there confused about what to order). If anything intrigues you on the menu, by all means, go for it. If you were as confused as I was when I tried this place for the first time, I highly recommend the chicken shawarma on Iraqi bread. The bread is so nice and crisp. The flavors of the chicken are a welcome delight. Definitely will come back to try more items on their menu.
google avatar

Eyhab S.

Yelp
Great food and service! Very authentic Mediterranean food! Best shawarma. I highly recommend the place.
