One of the best restaurants in Budapest still unbourdened by Michelin stars. The interior is very hip but ellegant and the food is sophisticated but simple, without high-end gimmicky tricks. The best part is for lunch you can have a 3 course menu which is more than enough to sample the quality of food without excessive overeating. Great place, will definitely come back

We had the 7-course tasting menu at Bilanx, and it was truly exceptional. Although the restaurant doesn’t (yet) hold a Michelin star, it absolutely deserves one. The service was impeccable—attentive, warm, patient, and highly professional. At our request, the dishes were served at a perfect pace, with no long waits between courses. Each plate was beautifully presented, with a creative and thoughtful combination of flavors and textures. The sauces were rich, silky, and perfectly balanced, elevating every dish. Despite the relatively small portions, we left feeling completely satisfied—clearly the menu is designed with precision so that the richness and variety build up to a filling and fulfilling meal. If you’re in Budapest and appreciate fine dining, don’t miss this gem. Highly recommended!

One of the most phenomenal meals I’ve had in my entire life. The seven course tasting menu with wine pairing is absolutely essential if you choose to come to this restaurant. There is the slimmest of chances you will be disappointed in any way whatsoever. The service, food, and atmosphere surpassed any of my expectations. We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing and it was exceptional. Beautifully presented and perfect service. My favourite course was the celeriac (and I generally hate celery!). So fabulous and throughly recommended for a real treat.

In Budapest, it’s easy to find traditional Hungarian restaurants and casual eateries. But what if you’re looking for something special, somewhere next level, but won’t leave you broke, something that will surprise you? Bilanx, a Michelin-recommended restaurant, delivers. First, the location is quite cool. Tucked down a classic Budapest side street, just a few blocks walk from the Danube, the Four Seasons Gresham Palace and the Szechenyi bridge. Walking in, you know it’s a different kind of place, open, well lit and not stuffy. The old world wooden bar smells of history and the wide selection of beverages is top notch. Choose between a 5 and 7 course prix fixe menu — we went for the seven. Every course is refined, well-balanced, beautifully presented and, most importantly, delicious. The wine pairings were excellent as well — all Hungarian wines. (I had no idea that Hungary offered so many subtle wine options). The wait staff (we were lucky enough to be served by the sommelier) was friendly, but not intrusive. I believe the menu changes a few times per year and I’ll return the next time I come to Budapest. If you’re looking for a place to dine, that makes you stop and appreciate each course, but doesn’t take itself too seriously, Bilanx will make you happy and glad you went off the well-beaten traditional Hungarian food path.

The wine pairing was something truly special – each glass complemented the dishes in a wonderfully unique way, elevating the entire dining experience. The food itself was thoughtfully chosen and perfectly balanced. Every course had its own character, but my personal favorite was the appetizer with the three different small bites – each one packed with flavor and creativity. It was a beautiful way to start the meal and really showed the chef’s attention to detail. Overall, it was one of those nights where everything just came together perfectly – great atmosphere, exquisite food, and wine that made every dish shine. A real gem in Budapest, and we can’t wait to return!

We had an absolutely outstanding dinner at Bilanx. Every dish we ordered was not only delicious but thoughtfully crafted, with flavor combinations that were both surprising and perfectly balanced. It was a true culinary experience from start to finish. We also tried both of the desserts, the key lime wafer stood out, it was light and refreshing, it is a must try. The service was phenomenal. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and each dish was presented with care and professionalism. Highly recommend Bilanx for anyone looking for a refined and creative dining experience.
