Bill Miller BBQ

The young guy taking the orders was rude and we felt rushed ordering and the fried Chicken was not up to typical Bill Miller's standards

Well, I always like to try BBQ places in Texas. This is not one to try again. Meat looks old, BBQ sauce tastes like tomatoe paste, chicken is dry. I don't know if it's all of the stores or just this one. 👎👎

Better pitch a tent and plan to stay a long time if using the drive thru! This place is understaffed to say the least. The Sunday crew is so slow. Better pitch a tint and prepare to wait a long time if in drive through! It took 40 minutes to get an order!!!

Don't waste your time! Worst BBQ ever. We ordered the brisket with two sides. The green beans weren't edible and the brisket was barely edible. The mac and cheese was good. My husband chose two servings of the mac and cheese for his two sides, and we were charged extra even though the meal includes two sides. Hmmm. I only gave it one star as I couldn't post otherwise.

I went 4 days ago and got chopped bbq sandwich. The bun was old and disgusting. It was doughy. Never had this problem before. The meat had to be taken off the bun and the bun thrown away.

Well, it was only $12 for a brisket plate. Everything was pretty bland, not bad, but just no seasoning. The BBQ sauce tasted like ketchup. It was like BBQ you would get in Utah, not Texas..maybe the chicken is better?

Without fail every time I order the breakfast sandwich with bacon (comes on a biscuit) it’s amazing. Every time. The biscuit is perfect, bacon crunchy. So good

I’ve eaten here lunch as I child growing up. But decided to try out there breakfast tacos. Someone recommended the carne asada and it was a hit!

First, i am not a BBQ connoisseur. I just like what I like and I really like the following from Bill Miller: Green beans, pinto beans and cold slaw. But my favorite were the pork ribs!! Pork-ey, fatty, tender deliciouslness!! Did order the brisket and found it rather dry. When I come back I'll double the pork ribs!!!

Food sucks wasted my per diem on this shit after working my ass off all day, I came in happy and hungry, and left feeling disappointed with a loss of appetite.

Very small portions of meat for the price. The Mac and cheese was ok but I only ate it because I was still hungry because the meat portions were small. Not going back.

Ain't nothin I can say about bill miller's bbq that hasn't already been said. This weak ass po boy got more poppy seeds than meat. It's a 1 meat po boy and fries and a drink for $10.23. I don't blame bill miller's for this establishment. I blame the city and citizens of Portland, tx. Y'all need to step the bbq game up. This one takes a hard L for me

Love Bill Millers but not for the BBQ. I've actually never tried their bbq, but my five stars are for the fried chicken and fries with the dinner roll. I love how hot and crispy it is. It's consistent and always good. E em on a bad day it's better than most other chicken places.

Food always fresh and great customer service my only thing I would recommend is making the sweet tea a little less watered down but overall B-

My husband and I ate dinner here. The brisket was raw and the rest of the meat had no flavor, tasted like it was boiled. I was disappointed.

Really bad experience.. Refer to my book i wrote in reviews Well, did received a phone call out of San Antonio apologizing for what happened.. Did not "make anything right". I really hate that a restaurant i have been to hundreds of times over my lifetime, is no longer an option..

In two months or less my combo has gone up on price. Started out at just over $6 and now Tonight I paid $9.04 Dont understand the constant price increases . Food is just ok but now I may have to find another place to spend my $ I eat there ate least twice a week and I was ready for my order to be $8.44 again as I paid on Thursday and now it was $9.04 dissapointed to say the least Ray P.

My parents came down to visit us and we took them here and it wasn't to bad it wasn't the best bbq I had but it wasn't to bad we got our food extremely quick which could be a good or bad thing I might go back and see if the food will be better the bathrooms weren't very clean and had no toilet paper but other than that it was to busy or bad

I've been eating Bill Miller since I was a kid...every now and then I'm in the mood for their Chicken Strips. So about 2 months ago I had my wife stop and pick me up their 4 piece. I was extremely disappointed. They were not even chicken strips, more like chicken nuggets! I understand these days cutting food cost but come on! How are you going to get one chicken strip and cut it into 4 pieces and call it chicken strips still. So 2 nights ago feeling like taking my chances and try again to get the chicken strips I'm used to them selling I order again....same disappointment!!! I've ordered other items and food seems to be fairly consistent with other locations. Maybe a little sloppy on the packaging but pretty much the same. But if you want chicken strips....go somewhere else all you're going to get is chicken chunks full of batter and hardly any chicken

Recently moved to Portland and dying to have Texas BBQ. I was not impressed with Bill Miller Bar-B-Q. I had a Poor Boy sandwich with potato salad. The sandwich hardly had any slices and of meat, and what was there was mostly fat and not meat at all. The BBQ sauce as tanging, but was disappointed with the meat. The potato salad was good. 1 star for the sauce and potato salad. Do better!!!

Hello to All.. Being originally from San Antonio this breaks my heart to have to tell this story about my favorite BBQ restaurant. We went into the restaurant in Portland Tx. about 10:50 this morning to order food for dine in.. We ordered 4 piece chicken with fries and a Po-boy with potato salad and slaw. We went to sit down at a table. Many were open..most were open, but nothing clean. We cleaned a table and sat down to wait..as everyone's food was coming out, we noticed no one was getting their food that they ordered..They were getting other people's orders..They were giving everyone their orders bagged up so you couldn't see what it was, so people were opening their food to find out it wasn't and giving it back to the employees after being "dug into", then the employees were giving that handled food to the people who actually ordered it.. I got up to avoid this happening, just to find out another couple had already gone through our bags and returned it to the employee who then handed it to us.. I saw this happen. It happened to others as well. I gave it back to the employee and explained why i wanted a new order. He took it and inside of 30 seconds brought it back out to us..he went to the back and put both white bags into a brown bag and brought back out to us.. INSIDE OF 30 SECONDS after waiting 15 mins for our food.. It was the same food the other couple touched and gave back because it wasn't theirs.. HELLO...COVID!?! My husband and i took the bag back to the register to tell them what happened and get our money back..they had already been dishonest. The Manager said nothing, gave me my cash and dropped my change in my hand, making me almost drop it. Then snatched my receipt from me. I believe the name on the receipt was James S... We will never go back in there again. I am so ashamed of them and unfortunately they reflect directly on Bill Miller's BBQ. I truly hope someone with some authority in Bill Miller's gets this and does something..I would hope someone cares

Had dinner at Bill Miller I had the Fried Chicken it was very crispy it could use some seasoning but otherwise it was very good.

My chicken sandwich had about 1/4 cup of chicken and a HUGE piece of gristle. I also asked for green beans instead of fries. Nope.

Slow service, small portions, and high prices is what you get for your money. Do yourself a favor go to Chick-fil-A.

This Bill Millers is one of the best! I'm from San Antonio and moved to New Braunfels, So I am very familiar with BM BBQ. The two in New Braunfels are horrible so I was a bit leery about trying another new one outside of San Antonio. After several visits to the Portland Bill Millers I can honestly say everything I've tried was really good, fried chicken, bbq, beans and even the tamales are good! Yes, the service is not that great but so long as the food is good, I can put up with a little rudeness, especially considering how difficult it is to get good help right now. Kudos to this Bill Millers for serving quality food during these difficult times!

Was excited to see that they put a new store in Portland but severely disappointed at the incompetence. We went inside and stood at the vacant counter for a good five minutes before one girl said she'd help us in just a second. Waited another few minutes and a guy said we can't order at the counter. We'd have to go around to the back and order at the to-go window. We had planned to eat inside with other patrons who were doing so. We left and drove through the drive-up, ordered two quarter chicken delights, no rolls and no cheese on one of the salads. Got home, found we had rolls, had cheese on both salads and got shorted half of one of the chicken quarters (there was a thigh but no drumstick). We've never had any issues with other Bill Miller's restaurants- hope this is just due to growing pains and the newness of reopening post-pandemic. If you go through the drive through, check your order before pulling away from the window.
