We got the Big Ol Bite and the two piece combo. The portion sizes were enormous —the pictures do not do it justice — and it was incredibly delicious. The papaya salad topping was really good and the chili crisp flavoring on the combo was really great. The sides were very flavorful and I particularly liked the pimento mac and cheese. The service was also really wonderful and they were all very nice. The breading was slightly on the thick side but overall a great experience !

I am always on the hunt for the next VIRAL NYC CHICKEN SANDWICH and I think I found it at this Upper East Side spot They use thick cuts of organic free range chicken, fried to perfection with both sandwiches, bone in and bone out options spiced up to the level of your desire. We got to try the Truffle infused “Bougee”sandwich and that bone in thick thigh with some pimento mac & cheese, and coleslaw! Great spot for a quick power lunch if you’re in the area

I will start off with saying the portion to price point is outstanding. I ordered the 3pc chicken tenders which came with 2 sides. The tenders were huge which was great. The pimento mac & cheese and coleslaw were in decent sized containers. So a lot of bang for your buck. The chicken was good (I tried Mild and also chili crisp flavors. Chili crisp wasn't what I thought it would be but it's still ok. Mild was much better). The pimento mac was so ooooh dry. Like not much cheese insight. Like it was mainly noodles and pimento with a speck of cheese sauce. I wish I had taken a picture of it. Very much inedible for me but maybe it was because it was close to closing time? My coworker stated that his earlier in the day was much creamier. The coleslaw was coleslaw, not much to say there. I've also had their French fries which were really good and the baked beans which were pretty ok. They use a mix of 2 or 3 beans I believe. Overall I would probably go back because I wanted to try their sandwiches but the only side I'd get are the fries. Photo is of the mild chicken tenders.

BIG OL'BITE, was FANTASTIC!! The portion was huge, every single bite was juicy, crispy and flavorful. The papaya salad had amazing flavors too and goes well with everything. I can't believe how good it tasted and it was def worth the wait and hype. 100% recommend to everyone.

Generous portions, gracious staff, delicious food, and a variety of options on the menu: these are just a few of the pros of Billie's Hot Chicken. The chicken is seasoned well and has a variety of heat levels that will fit both spice lovers and the spice intolerant. The sandwich options are all very unique, you can get a classic hot chicken sandwich or ones with a variety of different toppings. I personally enjoy the "Southern", "Po-Chick", and "Big Ol' Bite". All have great toppings and are fun to try out. Also, they are all huge, and they come with fries. I also regularly order the "Bone Out" chicken, again you can expect the portions to be huge and the food to be delicious. On top of the huge portions of chicken, a few pickle chips, 2 slices of bread, and 2 sides of your choice. I also highly recommend the mac and cheese as well; it's a go-to side for me, and it's always made fresh. It's extremely creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Also on top of all this the staff is fantastic, they always take the time to get to know their guests and make sure they enjoy the food. They also enjoy receiving feedback to improve. Give this place a visit, you will love it!

Billie Fried Chicken is the best fried chicken in the UES. They take incredible pride in their craft, delivering bold and unique flavors. Their Big Ol' Bite with papaya salad is a standout dish, perfectly balancing crispy, juicy chicken with a refreshing tangy spicy side Another highlight is their generous portions only $11 for a filling, flavorful meal, making it a fantastic value. Two huge thighs with two sizes. The staff are some of the friendliest around, adding to the welcoming atmosphere that makes this spot a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I can't say enough things about this new hot spot for incredible large portion chicken with somthing more delicious than I have remembered buying in recent years. There has not been a quality chicken spot in the area until this father / som family owned business took some pride and made a new standard. The chicken is just 5 star. Fries are restaurant style, no thin straw crap. - most notable is the quality of food and price. Just paramount. Happy I walked in and talked with the sons owner today. He is friendly and clearly is running a fine establishment which takes pride in who they are and what they are able to provide. Still amazed how big the sandwich was- yet still ate it all- the homemade slaw is key!!! Thank you thank you. Will be an almost daily stop for me.

Plus, 2 slices of bread are in the box, a few very nice, thick-cut, round pickle slices too, bread is under the chicken pieces. My sides: I chose pimento Mac ''n Cheese, AND Cole slaw. Yummy good. Last week, My first visit, I had the Classic Chicken Sandwich. My heat level which I chose , was no heat, but YES to the Hot Honey, and this CLASSIC CHICKEN SANDWICH WAS ONE OF THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICHES I HAVE EVER HAD!! It had Cole Slaw, and Pickles on it, and see my photos, please. Absolutely delicious!! I will be working my way thru the menu, little by little. So good!!!

I was really excited to try Billie's after a neighbor had recommended it. I figured a rainy day was as good as any for some crispy, hot chicken. Mmn... Unfortunately, I left disappointed. When I arrived at the counter, I noticed a pungent bathroom smell. I was thrown off. Should I leave? But I want some yummy chicken. Ugh. It's pretty empty in here, and they're new. Ah, ok, let me just order! I ended up ordering a medium-spice, small UES bone-in breast/wing with fries and mac and cheese. It seemed like they threw in a tendie (I wasn't sure, as it was my first time there), which was great, but the wing/breast piece and two sides were...not so great. First of all, the chicken was not crispy. There was no *crunch* when I took a bite. I ended up peeling off most of the skin, which low-key defeats the purpose of eating fried chicken, and drizzling on some hot sauce to finish my gains. Now, the sides...I took a couple of bites, but the mac and cheese was overcooked, and the fries were salty and soggy, as well. I did enjoy the pickles but skipped the accompanying bread slices. Solid effort from the staff, which was nice, but sadly, disappointing food and ambiance.

Billie's is great if you're hungry. They offer large portions. However, if you're looking for fried chicken, I'd skip it. There is no crispiness in their chicken.

The service at the place is amazing you walk in there is a guy behind the counter named Buddy asking you what you want to eat you decide how you want your Chicken to be with getting two sides to go with it. Not going to lie when I tried the Chicken I thought it was not all that great because it's like hit or miss but it's actually good to eat and the food comes out well done. So it's definitely the place to check out if you in the east side of Uptown Manhattan.

I ventured in with my wife the night before going on a strict diet where chicken, bread, and fried foods are verboten. I happened to see a coworker there when we wandered in (also a Yelper), who heartily recommended the eatery and its artisanal chicken-ery. We had visited Nashville briefly on a lunchtime layover, and heard about the hot chicken craze from our driver, but regrettably passed in favor of a neighboring food hall. So this was our first taste of the genre. My wife and I shared the Classic Chicken Sandwich and a side of fries. Then we walked to the Q train station, and the fries were gone by the time we boarded our Brooklyn-bound train. The hot chicken was sublime, the real deal. We had the spicy dialed to mild, but it was still plenty hot. The pickles and bread nicely complemented the generously portioned and fine quality chicken, which extended well beyond the boundaries of the sandwich.

Place is delicious. Staff super friendly. Did the classic chicken sandwich without slaw and pickles and it makes my mouth water. Very happy to have a great chicken shop in the neighborhood.

Love this place. They have A++ tendies, great sides (I get the Mac and cheese and slaw, and staff is nice too. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area

Why am I finding this place 4 days before I move back to California? This chicken is so good. It is deliciously spicy. It did take slightly longer than expected, but someone came out to tell me there was a slight mixup with my order and they were giving me extra chicken. Fine with me! I am pretty easy going, so I would have been happy with the communication even if extra chicken wasn't involved. I ordered hot and it was indeed hot. The fries are super good. Sorry this review is all over the place my mouth is on fire. Over all I am a really big fan!

Ordered Chicken Tenders with 2 sides. Chicken was tender and juicy - large pieces of meat. 9/10 Coleslaw was perfect - cooled down the chicken perfectly. Mac & Cheese was spot on. Overall must try. Pricing is a great deal for what you get. And the food tasted fresh, clean and filling.

The flavor of the chicken and the crispiness of the fries are good, but the chicken needs improvement. I've gotten the sandwich and the tenders on two occasions on both times the meat was tough.

Waited patiently for this place and it was worth the wait. So happy to have a fire FC spot in the nabe. Chicken was tender af, all the way down to the breast piece. Fries were fire, gonna ask for them well done next time. Hard to find a good Cole slaw, but this one IS IT. Def coming back to try the tendies and sandos. Food was very carefully and thoughtfully packaged. Cashier dude was super chill too.

Some of the best fried chicken I've had. Super delicious. Reasonable prices. I'd go with the chicken over the sandwiches. Please, offer some Cajun fries or hot fries, and dust the corn on the cob with spices like cayenne pepper. The sides are kind of bland compared to the chicken. It's freshly made so it's a couple of minutes longer than typical fast food.

Please give this place some love--it's fantastic!! We're visiting from Seattle, or we'd be here three times a week! We ordered the "haunches"--two boneless thighs combo with two sides--and the pieces were enormous, perfectly breaded and crisp, and pleasantly peppery. We chose pimento mac and cheese and coleslaw as sides, and they were excellent, too. Meals were served with thick-sliced pickles and white bread. The staff was attentive and very interested in making sure we were were satisfied.

The food was amazing. I got the classic with fries along with Mac and cheese. If you're ever in Manhattan check this place out!

I was excited to try Billie's as I live a few blocks away and I have always loved Dave's Hot Chicken (but it is a little too far for me to get to or order regularly). My wife and I ordered the Big Rooster mild, the 3 large chicken tenders (with pimento mac & cheese and corn on the cob) and two orders of fries. This was a pickup order. The food was excellent very much on par with Dave's (for those of who have tried it). The portions are generous, chicken was spiced excellently and delicious, and the chicken tenders come with these thickly cut pickles that were so tasty. Fries were also superb. The only item that was not special was the corn on the cob (but I don't think anyone can blame them for that; what can we expect with that order). Overall I am excited to try this place again and highly recommend it!

Perhaps the juiciest chicken I have ever had. Much better than the big chicken chains you see around the city. I think their prices are more than fair, especially in New York City. The staff are extremely friendly as well. Would recommend!

Visit #2 to Billies.... Sunday afternoon - perfect time to ponder and order from the website (www.billiesnyc.com) . 1/2 chicken, Po-Chick Sandwich (both Med hot), & Cluck Poutine (????...) [this turns out to be FrenchFries topped with chilcken nuggets and gravey"8"]. Sides of cole slaw and baked beans. Everything was perfectly done, presented, cared for, delivered on taste. An easy 4.8, the rest is on Hope he keeps going at this level of care and attention to details.

Wow! The chicken tenders were absolutely perfect flavor and texture wise. Medium heat level was solid for some kick but not overwhelming. Family run shop with very nice customer service and a clean store. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood. You can consider me a regular from now on. Cheers
