Austin’s New Restaurant & Bar Openings - Austin - The Infatuation

"Located on the patio of Other Racquet in East Austin, Bill’s Dips is a trailer from the team behind Bill’s Oyster. But here, instead of focusing on seafood, it’s all about the burger. The menu is small—burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and fries—but it’s well-suited to pair with a round of pickleball at the court it’s attached to. And, most importantly, you don’t have to be a member of the court to enjoy the food (or the pickleball)." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs

The Best New Restaurants In Austin: The Austin Hit List

"Bill’s Dips is the answer to “What if Bill’s Oyster…didn’t sell oysters?” Instead of seafood, this food-truck offshoot has burgers, chicken sandwiches, and dipped ice cream. The burger is the same one you’ve come to know and love at the Downtown brick-and-mortar (available as a single or a double), but the highlight is the massive fried chicken sandwich that hangs off both sides of the buns. It’s tender, juicy, and served with housemade ranch. Bill’s Dips is located at a pickleball court in Cherrywood, but thankfully you don’t have to be athletic or even know what a pickleball is to eat here." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs, matthew jacobs, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, nicolai mccrary, ni

Bill’s Dips - Review - Cherrywood - Austin - The Infatuation

"Bill’s Dips is the answer to “What if Bill’s Oyster…didn’t sell oysters?” Instead of seafood, this food truck offshoot has burgers, chicken sandwiches, tenders, and dipped ice cream. The burger is similar to the one you know and love at the Downtown brick-and-mortar—the bun is a little less pressed here, and this one is available as a single instead of a default double—but the highlight is the massive fried chicken sandwich that hangs off both sides of the bun. It’s tender, juicy, and served with housemade ranch. Bill’s Dips is located at a pickleball court in Cherrywood, but thankfully you don’t have to be athletic or even know what a pickleball is to eat here. Food Rundown Bill's Burger This is a textbook smashburger, with a thin, griddled patty and all of the classic burger toppings—cheese, tomato, red onions, and special sauce. It’s a single by default, but the thin patty benefits from making it a double. If you’re a fan of smashburgers, you’ll like this. Just don’t expect any wild cards. photo credit: RICHARD CASTEEL Fried Chicken Sandwich Here’s the MVP. The crispy chicken thigh is so big it struggles to stay on the tiny potato roll it's wedged inside of. You can get it plain or dressed in a few different sauces—we like the honey barbecue that adds a tangy sweetness. photo credit: RICHARD CASTEEL Loaded Fries Bill’s makes good fries—they’re cut into thick chips that give them plenty of crispy surface area. If you order them loaded, they come topped with chili, queso, sour cream, and jalapeños. That's a lot of wet ingredients, but they’re tasty as long as you eat them before they get too soggy. photo credit: RICHARD CASTEEL Chocolate Dipped Soft Serve Think Dairy Queen, but better. The vanilla soft serve is creamy, and the thick layer of hardened chocolate adds a great crunch. Bill’s is worth visiting for this alone. photo credit: RICHARD CASTEEL" - Nicolai McCrary

Google
Do yourself a favor, and don't miss out on this gem of a spot. Bills Dips (located inside other racquet social club) is the perfect spot for your post-hangover or pickleball grub. The chicken sandwich and burger are the best the city of Austin offers. Bills Dips is well worth the side quest.

Came during their soft open and couldn’t have had a better experience! We had the double Bill’s Burger and the chicken strips. Both were amazing!

Love the dipped cones, very refreshing. A bit messy, but super tasty. The chicken sandwich is really tasty too.

Dont fall for the hype of the overpriced taco’s at the same location. Food comes out faster and its damn good. Fries come with tenders meal and they are both excellent. You can pick two dipping sauces. I ordered online on a Sunday afternoon and got the text that it was ready in 5 minutes. Parking is challenging for this bar so be ready for street parking.

Google
This is only about the ice cream, haven’t tried the food! $17+ for two already melted cones. Like ice cream was pouring down the guy’s hands as he gave them to us. They told us the chocolate dip wasn’t ready, but they dipped them anyway. So the ice cream was covered in a weird plasticky chocolate that also melted extremely fast. They insisted it was fine and we should eat them, but we couldn’t because they melted too fast and ended up all over the ground :(

Google
Some of the best fried chicken in Austin… and that’s saying something considering it’s right down the road from Bird Bird. I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out! Also, it has a great vibe next to fleet coffee and a taco truck. There’s also a vintage shop next door.

Google
This is only about the ice cream. I got the vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate for $6. The chocolate was good but the ice cream tasted off like freezer burnt or chlorine pool water.

Yelp
Convenient fast ordering food truck on Rainey by Bill's Oyster.. famous burger, fried chicken and chicken tenders made to order.. we also tried the chili cheese hot dog, regular fires and chili cheese fries. We ordered online and the food was ready for pickup within 15 mins. Lots of picnic tables at the food truck park so plenty of seating.. parking is more of an issue on Rainey and have to find available street spots. Chicken was hot and crispy. Burgers and hot dog were excellent too. Fries were circle shape pieces and also extra crispy. The smothered ones were more potato-y because they were under all that goodness of sauce. Def recommend if you are in the area or craving chicken or burgers. Rainey st is busy at night and easier to navigate during the day
