Cash‑only, tiny, and absolutely worth it. Tulsa World praises Bill’s for its old‑fashioned fried‑onion burgers and hand‑cut fries; locals call ahead because the grill often sells out before mid‑afternoon.

One of the best burgers in Tulsa. You have to get there early as possible because they will run out of meat. They are only open on Monday through Friday.

Google
One of the best burgers I've had in a long while. I got the T-Town, which includes 3 half pound patties. Indoor seating on the counter and outdoor seating with two tables and chairs. Definitely worth the drive to find this hidden gem.

Google
All in all, it was a very enjoyable meal. The burger was spot on, the onion rings were crisped nicely and I was lucky enough to have the option to sit at the tables or not this time. The food is worth the work to get, but bare in mind if deciding to venture to this gem, there is a very small window of operations, there is a VERY small space in which the line is formed to place your order (if you happen to be claustrophobic I suggest bringing someone with you that is not for order placing purposes), bring cash as it is all they accept, and get there as close to open as possible or be prepared to wait. Just remember, the food is worth the work!

If you don’t like onions you can stop reading here. This is not the place for you. I don’t like onions - so I ding them one star for that. I wish I knew going in that *every burger* has onion embedded in the meat by Bill before he puts them on the flattop. I would not have spent $8 on a burger I wasn’t going to eat if I had known that. I learned it by watching the process. It is a very deliberate process in which the onions are pulled from a bowl and placed on top of the patties then set on the griddle. Not gonna lie - the man takes the utmost care and is a burger chef of the highest order. These are great looking burgers and they are methodically prepared. It would appear that nothing is left to chance and every burger is going to be consistent. If you liked it 20 years ago then you are going to like it today. The fries are fresh, handcut potatoes and this is always, to me, the mark of a truly great fry. Delicious. I didn’t sample the tots or onion rings (natch) but they look to be of equally high quality. The place is old and full of character. But it’s clean and tidy. The service is very friendly and efficient. Of note: it is CASH ONLY. As best I can tell is they buy a certain amount of fresh beef every day and when they run out service wraps up until the next open day. When that happens is a moving target but if you wait too long after the lunch hour, you might find them closed for the day. One other thing: it’s not fast food, there is a process and it is carefully made. I noticed a lot of customers called their orders in and then showed up a bit later to pay and collect their food. Seems like a great idea because it is tiny and not much room to wait. The bottom line is I would probably be a regular here were it not for the onion thing. I wish I could stomach onions. I really do. Because this place is a true Tulsa classic run by people that care about what they are doing. So they do it right.

Google
Great burger !!! Price was very reasonable Only thing is the place is very small, I think that’s what makes it special

Google
A teeny hole in the wall with no place to sit. Be sure and call ahead to make sure to order. Excellent chili fries but they were sold out of burgers and people were still coming in one after the other trying to order like I did. Cash only. No place to stand inside hardly either. The whole place can only hold like 5 customers standing at the most. Just enough room to get in and out. Must be good stuff tho for the amount of business runnng thru there.

Google
Great burger joint fresh cut fries, not much seating, call ahead or go early for one of the picnic benches outside

Google
I just turned 77. My Grandma lived at 2112 E Admiral and when I was over at her place when I was little, we always got hamburgers from Bill's. I will forever remember her calling them in, always ending with ' and don't cremate them'! 🥰 I would walk down and pick them up. Of course, I don't remember, but they were probably $.20. We always got fries and a coke. I live in Wagoner now, but I am going to have to visit next time I am in Tulsa.

Yelp
If like me you have started to not liking most burger spots and pretty much can't stand any of the chains, this may just the fix for you. The food is cooked to order so unless you are one of the first doubt you are getting your food in less than 15 so be prepared, seating is limited so keep that in mind may be a car eating trip, they have a P.A.,s o you can place your order and hang outside until its ready. Now on to the food, burger and fires/onion rings and that's it keepin' it simple as a burger shack. I have to be honest I kind of forgot about Bill's as its only open around lunch time on weekdays then sure enough I was close by and this spot pop and the burger are still epic as ever. I remembered how good an onion burger can be, you have to tell them if you do not want it that way as just beef if you do not like onions. You can scale the size of your burger to your gut's content and I do like the type of bread it use it compresses real nice! I have never gotten anything smaller than the 1/2 pound big mama and I can see how the ratio can be thrown off with the smaller sizes but when you get up to the big red it can contain the meat to condiments to bun ratio very well, I can probably force an okie burger (1lb) but I doubt I will enjoy it as much as will be way too filled, maybe if I skip the fires or onion rings but where is the fun in that. This is one of those burgers that each bite is so amazing you can find yourself eating it way too fast and then you check yourself as to where all that food went so fast.

Yelp
If you're looking for a delicious burger in a long-time Tulsa establishment, then Bill's is your place. We enjoyed cheeseburgers, fries, and onion rings on our visit. We arrived shortly after 10:30 when they opened and were able to get a seat at the counter. A line started to form by 11:00 so be sure to get there early because it gets busy!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was cooked to order and if you are looking for that old time greasy spoon burger shop, you have found it. We had the burger and fries and the burger was great, had a bit of a sweet taste to it, most likely from the onion and tomatoes. They only take cash
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
One of the best old school burger places that is still around. Great taste to the burger and the onion rings and fresh cut French fries are excellent too!!
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
Best burgers in town but they are cash only which can be inconvenient and they under-make their meat volume so every day they run out between noon and two. I still eat there all the time but more than once I get turned away because they are out of burgers... So, call ahead

Chase F.

Yelp
Everytime I come it's something else. A person orders 30 burgers ahead of time. They're sold out. What next ? Place is a joke

Matt A.

Yelp
Interesting to see some low ratings. Most folks crying about cash only. One of the BEST burgers in town. PERIOD, Go to your bank, grab some cash and treat yourself to lunch. Leave the negative comments and vibe in your toilet.

Ed B.

Yelp
Great burger! I had the 1/3 pound Bill's Special. The only thing I asked fur was no mustard. I'm not a fan of mustard on burgers. But the burger is a great size. Not too big, not too small. The meat is fresh and the burger is made to order. Simple, no frills old fashioned burger joint!!!
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
Cannot say enough about this place been coming here since the early 80s. It is the best burger spot in Tulsa as far as I'm concerned. The people that are on it I just good down to earth trustworthy people.
google avatar

Richard H.

Yelp
one of the best in Tulsa. and another 5 stars for its jointiness. Truly a gem. Jeeezzzz what's with the 85 character minimum?
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
I'm 54 and I swear Bill's is still the best burger I've ever had. My idea of heaven is a Big Mama, onion rings & a bowl of their amazing chili. Uh oh, I'm drooling on myself.

Robert S.

Yelp
The quintessential burger place. It is small, a bit off the beaten path. It is open from 10:30 till 3 or until the meat runs out. Best burger in town. I always got the big mama 2 patties with cheese. This place was visited by Adam Richman back when he did those insane food challenges and he tapped out to the 4 patty Okie burger. This place been in business since 1960. If you live in Tulsa or nearby and you love cheeseburgers then it is a must stop. Called the most charming one room restaurant in Tulsa. I always get it to go. But the staff has always been friendly. My go to is the 2 patty big mama. I can never finish it in one sitting.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't go anywhere else. Seriously. I've had Claude's, I've hard Arnold's, but they are not even fighting in Bills weight class. Bills jumbo burgers is on its own level, with the best cooked burger you can buy in Tulsa. I'm a 3rd generation customer, and I will continue to carry the Bills tradition to all of my friends and family. Pictured is their Big Red with cheese, their 2/3rd pounder. I loved every bite.
google avatar

Yelp
So trying to work my way thru Piso's(Facebook page) hamburger list and he rated Bill's #1. Finally got over there last week. I went early, which I am glad I did, because the line that came in after me was non stop. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries to go. This is a small place with little seating. Got back to the office and everything was still nice and warm. Burger was seasoned well and was tasty, with a toasted bun. Overall a really good burger. I have to say though, that wasn't my favorite part of the meal. Those fresh cut fries were so delicious. I couldn't stop eating them. Definitely on top of my list now.
google avatar

Jack C.

Yelp
So if you are going to get a burger, get the big momma... And then don't expect to eat dinner later that night!! The burger is friggin fantastic and very juicy. My only complaint would be a less done bun, mine was a bit dried out.. BUT I still ate it and still would! I did get the onion rings and wow, they were my favorite brand served at another location but they get them deep golden brown but not burnt and now I have a suggestion for my other fav burger joint.. Hands down legit! Stop in early as there is very limited seating and fills up fast... plan on getting it to go for real!.
google avatar

Rod S.

Yelp
Check the hours, go early or late, call ahead and pick it up. We took it home and they were delicious. They don't need any help in the reviews because they are a staple in Tulsa. But I will definitely watch for opportunities to return.

Yelp
I thought the name "Jumbo Burgers" was just to make this place sound appealing, but this place has legit JUMBO burgers (and if you know me, you know I don't play when it comes to food portions). I was honestly surprised (and really happy) when I saw how big the burgers are here. They're just as good as they look, too!! The staff here has burger making down to a science - they manage to put all the condiments on NEATLY, so your burger isn't dripping/sliding around when you're eating (you don't realize how much you'd appreciate this until it actually happens). Onion rings were okay (just typical onion rings out of a bag). Fries were good. They charge for water here, fyi. Also fyi, the only difference between the Big Daddy and Bill's Special is that Bill's special has cheese. Inside only seats 6 people. There are a few picnic tables outside, but it seemed like most people were calling in orders and taking them to go.

Germaine T.

Yelp
You will definitely not leave hungry after eating "the Okie burger"! That thing is guaranteed the satisfy your hunger! I was actually only able to eat half of it, and save the rest for dinner!
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
An absolutely stellar burger joint. Not long on ambience, but it's a burger joint. Very limited seating, but they do have seats out front, weather permitting. If I had to guess, I'd say their flattop was hand forged by God, back in the day. It's got that years over years flavor that you just can't get anywhere else. Anytime I find myself around Utica and I-244, I try to stop in. These are old school diner burgers. Cook thin with a great crust on each patty. The buns steamed just enough to get really soft and soak up the juice. Fresh cut fries cooked the way mom used to. This place shows up on just about any self-respecting burger bucket list, and if you eat there, you'll know why. And you'll have the advantage of being able to cross it off your own burger bucket list.
google avatar

Mitch H.

Yelp
Easily the best burger in t-town! A wide variety of sizes for the burger and for anybody looking for a challenge try the 2 pound burger: featuring 6 1/3 lbs patty's. The bun remains dry while the burgers exquisite flavors pour into your mouth. A perfect place for a quick and amazing burger!

Yelp
Bill's Jumbo Burger isn't much to look at or in the best part of town, but man it's quite the experience. I need to mention what may be seen as challenges with this place early on. The main road to Bill's is a one way street that feeds on to I-244, so make sure you know the way. It's cash only. It's only open for lunch a few days a week. It's tiny, meaning the place has a max ocupancy of probably less than twenty people. I split a Double Okie with a friend and it was awesome for a greasy spoon, flat top burger. The Double Okie was a 2 lb hamburger. Onions appeared to be cooked into the four patties our burger was made from. The taste was simple, but it's simplicity made it beautiful. I sampled a friend's onion rings and they were good. The breading was crispy, but the onion texture I didn't love. I liked crispy onion ring breading and crispy onion. So less processed. Bill's is great, but quirky and a hole in the wall.

Yelp
Thank you Bills for being yourself! This is a local gem most people would pass right by based on the condition of the building alone. It's a dump! Not necessarily a bad thing it's faded and cracking paint and dilapidated exterior holds a tiny 7 sear counter and a real tasty burger. Soft, grill toasted bun shredded lettuce onions tomato and pickle with mustard gently supports a delicious and perfectly grilled beef burger patty. Don't let the outside fool you, it's what's inside that counts. I'm going back! Try it yourself!!!

Dora K.

Yelp
If there are burgers in Heaven, Bill's will be the ones. There is nothing anywhere on earth that can even compare to their burgers. They are cooked on a griddle that is probably 60 years old in a little shack on Admiral and Xanthus. The parking lot is a mess and hard to get in and out of. They're only open for lunch on weekdays. They only take cash. Sometimes they get so many orders they run out of meat and shut down early. There are only 5 barstools inside and 2 picnic tables outside. It's better to call ahead because sometimes the wait can be an hour because so many other people are ahead of you. Is all of this worth it? Absolutely! If you love good old fashioned burgers this is the place. Do yourself a favor and call 918 592 5191 some weekday about 11 am and place an order. You'll be hooked.

Omar G.

Yelp
It's not really close. Bill's is the best. I've tried about 40 hamburger spots in Tulsa since I moved here 5 years ago. Bill's smokes everyone else. Arnold's and Linda Mar's are pretty damn good too....but it's still not close. Bill's in this life and the next.
google avatar

Yelp
The rainbow-clad exterior building which houses Bill's Jumbo Burgers hinges on nearly being a shack, which is part of its charm. This place has been around forever and I've heard about it for years and finally indulged on one of my cheat days to check it out. The interior is very small, so most people order take away, and you can call ahead, which is also convenient. They are cash only, so keep that in mind when coming. The burger patty is flat and pretty big, served on an oversized bun. I got everything but lettuce and it was a great break from my diet. I'd come here again if my calorie budget allows, and would like to eat there at one of their outdoor tables for a fresh-off-the-grill experience. I added onion rings, which are beer battered and crispy, but soft in the center and perfect. I'd like to try their fries the next time I'm here, as they are fresh cut and cooked to order. Because of it's small size, I'd recommend coming with a smaller group or calling ahead. It's on the books as a recommended burger place in Tulsa, so come on out if you haven't yet!
google avatar

Greg C.

Yelp
Always delicious. I have been going there since the 70s. Best hamburgers I have ever had. I was stationed in California and when I came home on leave, this was always a place I wanted to eat at.
google avatar

Garen M.

Yelp
Man! This is a real burger! A tiny dive place with only a few stools at the counter and a couple of tables outside. It looked like everyone had carry out or ate in their cars. I arrived at 11 and waited a short time to order. I ordered the Bill's Special - a loaded 1/3 pound mustard cheeseburger and fries. I took a seat at the counter and the place filled quickly with customers and people picking up call-ins. My burger was huge for a 1/3 pounder and tasted like a mustard burger should taste. The fries are fresh cut and cooked just right. By the time I ate my burger, they were quoting 45 minute wait times because so many people had showed up or called in. I'll be back.
google avatar

Donna H.

Yelp
Called my order in and ate in the car this time. After waiting in line to pick up my order, it had been sitting. It doesn't work out timing wise, might as wait there and get it right off the grill. I think maybe I am too particular in wanting hot food. The onion rings were awful. Crisp and burned on the outside and mushy in the inside. Hamburger 3+, love the perfectly toasted bun. The whole experience is kind of stressful. Looking for an place to park, waiting in line in a tiny place with a bunch of men with huge bellies and either squeezing in at the counter or eating in your car on Adminal. :(
google avatar

Jon T.

Yelp
We went to Tulsa, just because, and had no real plans, except that I wanted to have burgers at some of the iconic Route 66 kinds of places. Bill's is certainly one of those places. We arrived and squeezed inside. This is literally true because other than the 6 or so stools at the counter, there is room for 3-4 people to stand and wait. Obviously most people call in and carry out. We did not know that, so were told our wait would be 45 minutes. We killed time in the car and checked in about 30 minutes and our order was just ready. At that time we were able to eat at the bar, but you should be prepared to eat in your car or take them home. You might also want to take a lap towel. Ms T ordered the 1/3 lb Big Daddy with just cheese and mustard. I ordered Bill's special. It came with cheese, chopped lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. They were so busy that I hated to ask, so we really never figured out the difference in the two; Big Daddy vs Bill's Special, since Ms T's was supposed to come with L/T/O/P also. I think. The burgers are genuine flattop style, well flattened so that the 1/3 lb patty fits the large diameter bun. It works. They had an excellent grill crust but I wished for more salt grilled in. If I were to return, regardless of the size, I would pass on the vegetables and get my standard cheese, mustard and pickle. The onion, lettuce and tomato get in the way of the burger flavor. Great place! This is a must do in Tulsa.
google avatar

Josh G.

Yelp
A Tulsa classic. Nostalgia abounds with this hole in the wall burger joint next to 244. Regulars claim the cook stove top is the original. Bill's delivers the classic Oklahoma style burger with cooked in onions that delivers plenty of flavor. Make plans for carryout because there is almost no room inside. I'll be back.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
It's a little hole in the wall. They got good old fashioned burgers but not the best burger I've had u. Tulsa. Would for sure go again and recommend it, but if you miss it, there are plenty of other equally good, greasy options.
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
Bill's was a place I had never heard of before, in a corner of Tulsa that I'd never been through. It was just through digging around online that I happened upon it. I must say now that I'm glad I did. It's a tiny shop in a very unlikely part of Tulsa (a largely forgotten corner of Admiral overlooking I-244). The parking lot has decayed into near-gravel conditions in parts, and people basically pull their cars in wherever there's a suitable, unobtrusive space. The selection of burgers is really quite interesting; I don't think I've ever been anyplace that listed 1-lb., 1-1/2lb. and 2-lb. burger options. It's mind-boggling to me that anyone would want to eat that much (and I understand that the guy from Man vs. Food has been here). But my, the burgers are great! The buns are grilled to just the right crispness underneath and full of flavor, while the mix of standard ingredients (mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomato) is really well balanced. Of the other old-school burger places in town, I'd say only Hank's on east Admiral gives Bill's a run for their money. Nicer still, the fries are tasty and perfectly cooked. Slightly soggy, mind you, but not to the point where they feel limp or oily. Friendly service as well, and you can watch how they put care into how they prepare the burgers. From the reputation the place seems to have, I was surprised to not have to wait for a seat. Most people that came in while I was there had called in orders to go, so I mostly had the counter to myself. The wait time between ordering and receiving my food was probably about 10 minutes, which is more than acceptable for me (especially given how many to-go orders they were preparing when I walked in). All in all, a very good holdover from an earlier era of Tulsa. I'll definitely go back.

Melanie H.

Yelp
Really good burgers and onion rings. Burger was definitely jumbo and the battered onion rings were perfect.
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
Hole in the wall literally with line out the door! Cash only but damn sure a one of a kind juicy double cheeseburger hot off the grill! It's a flavor like mmmmhhhh good! I always call mine in and then come 15 min later it's perfect! Not much sitting space but worth every cent!
google avatar

Kim W.

Yelp
My husband and I have tried hamburgers all over the country. Bill's Burgers are the Best Burgers in Oklahoma and the other 37 states we've eaten burgers. #1.
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
I don't understand the anti-customer bias at this place. Been here a few times now to fully experience the service and food. I can't argue with the quality of what I have eaten here. I especially love the homestyle fries. The burgers are decent for the old fashioned style. The pricing and service tho could stand some drastic improvement. I don't think I've ever been greeted here with anything other than a surly "what do you want"? I'm not expecting bells and whistles but a little pleasant attitude can go a long way. The place is small with indoor and outdoor seating. Do everybody else a favor, and order THEN go wait outside instead of jamming into an already overcrowded space. Pricing is NOT on a par with other decent purveyors of old fashioned burgers and fries, Bill's is more expensive. Their hours are odd as well, went by not long ago to grab a late lunch, it was about 2:10pm, well shy of their posted closing time of 3pm. Walked up to the door and saw their closed sign was up and their door locked. Peeps still in there working or whatever, just not helping customers. All the weird ass religious paraphernalia they have all over is also somewhat off-putting. If you're on that side of town and it's between 11am and 3pm on a weekday you might stand a decent chance of getting some decent grub but then you might be left hanging.
google avatar

Sharee F.

Yelp
If you want an awesome sit down restaurant, this isn't it. They only have counter space for 5 and 3 outdoor tables. If you want a GREAT old fashioned burger, this is the place to go! The only downside is they are only open until 3pm. I wish it was open later! Great burgers though!
google avatar

Greg W.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about Bill's Jumbo Burgers ! ! ! The absolute best Burger in Tulsa by a wide margin, and the best FRESH-CUT FRENCH FRIES I've ever had in a restaurant - ANYWHERE - PERIOD ! Someone in another review compared Bill's French Fries to 'Five Guys' fries, but Five Guys fries are always limp and soggy, while Bill's are wonderfully crispy and perfect in texture and taste. Be sure to call your order in ahead of time - it can be crazy crowded ! They are only open during lunch on weekdays, and they only accept cash, but it is SO WORTH checking out ! This is the place - above all other restaurants in Tulsa - that I take out-of-town friends and relatives to when possible, I only wish that I could give Bill's SIX stars !
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
I love hole-in-the wall hamburger joints...but let's face it, they are not all great. This one is. I have almost every published hamburger "best of" list programed into my phone, and this one was not on any of the list. Some friends met me here as soon as I got off of a flight at the nearby airport. They had seen it on "Man vs Food". They have hamburgers that range from 1/4 lb to 2 lbs. I had the 3/4 pound burger. Great meat cooked to perfection with small pieces of onion in it. The fries were fresh cut and reminded me a lot of the fries at Five Guys...only probably better. There is very little seating inside and the line was long...but well worth the wait.
google avatar

Mason R.

Yelp
Always worth the wait, Proper old fashion burger, Super friendly staff!

Yelp
I went to Bill's today to celebrate after a morning of cleaning out the garden. A hearty hamburger seemed to be the way to go. I ordered a Big Red with cheese and bacon. Outstanding. It's always great to sit in a small, family-run joint and watch my food being prepared. Saturday is a slow business day, but the staff are experts. Great burger, great down-home atmosphere, great service and friendly staff. It doesn't get any better than this after a hard morning's work!
google avatar

Shane B.

Yelp
One of the icons of Tulsa, Bill's Jumbo Burgers is one of the best in town. Hole in the wall joint that will have you wanting to go back for more. The meat is ground fresh daily so get there early to be one of the crowd who gets a prized burger before they run out!!!

Craig S.

Yelp
This is the best burger you will ever eat Have been eating here for over 20 years and hasn't changed a bite. Meat fresh daily and cooked to perfection at time of order.

Steven S.

Yelp
Place is still as good as I remember I highly recommended this place for sure. Look at my photos I've attached pictures of their menu and they ONLY TAKE CASH.

Starvin Marvin B.

Yelp
I've just finished my first Bill's burger, and I have to say I was rather disappointed. I was lucky to come on a day where it wasn't overly rushed, and I think I was out within 15 minutes of placing my order. The folks there were friendly enough, and it wasn't a *bad* burger, but I certainly couldn't recommend jumping through the hurdles to get it. I ordered a Big Mama, and it was a pretty burger, for sure. I liked the nice big tomato slices and the onions were just strong enough to let you know they were there without dominating the burger. But the meat itself.... well, I'm not saying it was bad, because it wasn't. It was thoroughly cooked, which I greatly appreciate. The promised juiciness was there. But the flavor... well, there was just no THERE there. I would taste the occasional charred spot, but it was otherwise rather bland and certainly overpowered by the mustard (which was your standard yellow mustard, so that wasn't a taste treat). So, while it wasn't bad, I'd say it was a burger I would only get if it was my only option at the time. I've only begun my own burger search, but I would say that these aren't as good as Arnold's or even Whataburger. You can't please everyone, and they certainly have their devoted fans, so I wish them the best. It just wasn't exceptional for my particular taste. All the best!

Yelp
For a fast sit-down burger restaurant, this place epitomizes the Midwest. Friendly people, consistently local crowd, giant portions of greasy burgers and fries, and no-frills seating. The burgers are very flavorful and greasy. Don't come if you want a gourmet experience or something other than a burger: this is purely a burger Mecca in Tulsa.

Yelp
WOW!!! One of the best greasy spoons in Tulsa if you like Huge Hamburgers. I believe they have been around for over 40 years. Very limited hours open (lunch). A must try for any transplant to Tulsa.

Yelp
I love this little burger joint. Close to downtown which is where I work and live. Old school place that takes cash only and charge for soft drink refills and has only a few stools available at the counter. There are tables outside for eating as well. I usually get the Big Mama with cheese. Bill's has a permanent place in my Tulsa Cheesburger Rotation.

Yelp
The burger was fresh and pretty big. Good portions and the fries are real handcut potatoes. Most likely you will have to order togo as the restaurant is very small with limited seating. There are some benches outside. Service is great. Just your usual burgers though. Nothing fancy or gourmet.
