Bill's Pizza & Pub North

So where to start I am still sitting in the restaurant after waiting over a hour for a table for me and my family that was in from out of town. We the. Waited another 20 minutes for our drinks. Never got refills. We where a party of 8 and no one had food that they enjoyed or was hot for that matter the picture is of the Italian beef my wife had that was so chewy that it could bounce off the floor. The fries weren’t even cooked all the way. Needless to say this was the worst service we have had in quite some time. Specially when the table next to us that got seated 45 minutes after us received there order before us clearly they had a better waitress.

This is a rustic woodsy atmosphere. Peanut shells are all over the floor. Probably not a great choice for those with peanut allergies. We order the wings they are meaty and flavorful without any sauce. We also had the Double Decker pizza. This is one of our favorites.

My first experience here, and it just wasn't for me. I had a beer and left. I have to say that there is an awesome vibe, and the interior is so cabin like, very inviting! Loved that! 1st, it didn't smell too pleasant when I walked in, so that killed my appetite. 2nd, this is one of those we serve you peanuts, and you can just throw the shells on the floor. So, that's all you're stepping on. I know that is the theme, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

This restaurant has been great for at least 30 years. The original location in Mundelein and this one are local favorites, with solid Chicago Pizza and good beer. The service is straightforward and friendly. TVs are on with local sports, but not overbearing. It's a place where you can eat alone or with a large family. Plenty of parking at both locations. This is a great restaurant to add to your local favorites.

Our waitress was such a hoot- very funny and attentive. We enjoyed Bills' special double decker which was amazing. Add the specialty drink, and the experience was perfect! I will definitely go back soon.

Not only was the staff friendly but we had service with a smile. Very clean but the best thing is their pizza is the best ever. Absolutely delicious. I've been going there since the mid 80's and it's only gotten best. I love love love Bill's pizza. 5+5+5⭐ + An extra 5⭐ rating for all of the ambience and original decorum which is not inexpensive. You could say it might be a little redundant with atmosphere, but, the ambience was very tangible. I absolutely have no negative issues with Bill's Pizza and Pub North! The service was fantastic, we went early and were just about done before the crowds started to come in. Our server was fantastic. I wish I would have gotten her name. Anyway, a 30% tip was actually cheap. Everything was pretty simple, I got the Bill's specialty Pizza large thin crust. My wife had gotten the Greek salad, and the cheese stuffed shrimp. My wife was drinking some cherry ginger ale, I just had Mr pibb. The food was well made and was extremely flavorful. I couldn't bring myself to throw the peanut shells on the floor, so we piled them up into one of our extra appetizer plates. This facility was extremely clean. And, I might add the bathrooms were spotless, The layout was nice, and remember, clean bathrooms mean clean kitchens. I won't eat in a facility that has dirty bathrooms, that's why I check before we walk all the way in. All in all, I have to rate them way way up there! Do yourself a favor and stop on in. Great pizza 🍕 great service. Felt like we were on vacation someplace in the woods. Family loved it! Had fun! Peanuts 🥜 are fun while waiting. Charging our Tesla was pretty cool!

Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The food was really good. That's one loaded pizza. Delicious.

What are disaster from the wait to paying our bill!!! I feel like no one in this place gives a damn about customer service or enjoying your meal. My husbands family from out of town suggested to meet here for dinner. Our party of 8 or so arrived at 6:30 pm give or take. We weren't seated until a hour or so later... FINALLY our Waitress shows up and is frazzled... barely got our drink order together! Food order goes in about 8:00 pm... Waitress never shows back up to check or ask if refills are needed. Our food shows up sporadically... 1 person received a side of cheese sauce (no food), 1 person got there salad... etc. Overall food was terrible! My Italian beef was almost in edible, so tough and chewy I could've made a belt out of it. I ate a few bites, but gave up on it. Everyone else said food was luke warm at best and lacked flavor. The real punch to the gut was our tab was $215... no discount... no I'm sorry... nothing... cool part is the gratuity was included for $31!!! I get things happen, but WOW!!! Only upside is my husband won $100 bucks from slots, so our food was basically a freebie... NEVER again will I step foot in this place... A JOKE AT BEST! be leary if they are busy, the table behind us was also very upset and experienced a similar situation as our table!

While visiting my girlfriend's family we went to one of her favorite spots for pizza. It was a little early so not much of a crowd. We started with the cheese sticks and fried raviolis which were good but, they did not prepare me for the main dish. The veggie pizza I got was so scrumptious. Perfect amount of sauce and the crispiness of the crust was on point! My girlfriend had the Ditka's polish sausage which was a perfect bite from a soft, yet crisp French roll. Coming from Austin, Tx which has quite a few of their own great pizza pubs, this was a wonderful place to grab a drink and a bite!

We ordered takeout a large thin crust pizza 1/2 bills special 1/2 Mediterranean and it was delicious and perfectly crispy.

Dec 7 , 2024...5pm. not crowded yet . But possibly understaffed. We were 3 couples , so a problem right away when we asked for separate checks ...how hard is it to write out 3 checks instead of 1? Anyway, she dropped off menus took forever to come back to get our order. Took almost 40 minutes to get our food, and she never came back once to check on us as I was dying of thirst and needed some water or at least a refill on my watered down "specialty" Christmas cocktail . Husbands fish dinner was ice cold when served. My broasted 4 pc chicken was all breading and very little meat and totally dried out almost inedible.. one of the pcs was a "back" with spine and no meat!. The prices charged were not worthy of the subpar food, poor service. Have come to Bill's pub for years, but it has gone downhill drastically so we will not return.

I was sitting at Bills Pizza TRYING to pick up a 20 piece chicken dinner to take to a friend's house who is recovering from surgery and can't get out. I called 4 hours ahead to give them plenty of time because the order was large. They took the order. Read it back to me. Gave me the total. Guess what?? The genius who took the order cancelled it. After talking to several people ( I was told I was in the wrong Bill's that the chicken was at their Mundelein location THEY DON'T MAKE CHICKEN IN MUNDELEIN) the manager agreed to remake it. We were going to be VERY late, but decided to wait the additional 20+ minutes. Argh!! They "comped" the order - NOT at their suggestion, I had to bring it up. Nice, none-the-less. Then, when we opened up the order (15 miles away) it was 8 PIECES SHORT, potatoes were only 1/2 correct and they did not give us the 1 1/2 lb of coleslaw that was suppose to come with it. We got 5 tiny containers. Given a second chance they STILL could not get it right. Argh!! Bills does a booming business (at least on a Friday night) and my negative comment will probably not effect them (please note that I also leave positive reviews when deserved), but I will NOT be returning and I suggest you think twice before you do as well.

Very spacious restaurant with ample parking in the back of the restaurant. The place had a lot of vintage hunting decor, a little area with slots machine and another area for arcade games. We had a private party for a birthday which our server was accommodating and nice. She got everyone drinks order in and refilled throughout the party. Pizzas were good. My favorite was definitely the Bill's Special. Reasonable price pizzas that are delicious.

Bill's has truly some of the best pizza around! I joined a large group here for a reception after a funeral, and we had a buffet with several thin crust pizzas. They were so good! This place also serves bowls of peanuts, and the traditional is apparently to leave the shells on the tables or ground. That part creates a bit of a mess and also seems sort of random at a pizza place, but whatever! I've really only knocked off a star because our group had a reservation after the funeral, and we had to wait for quite awhile for the room to be ready because another party had the space before us and was still in there when we arrived, then we had to wait for it to be cleaned up. With a more organized party/reservation system, I'd give it 5 stars for a super casual destination with great pizza. Peanuts optional.

Been going here many years, lastnight we ordered take out two 4pc chicken dinners. Together we had two edible pieces each. Very over cooked beyond being severable. We have had chicken inside never this bad.

Lol, the hours state 11a opening. It's 4:30p on a Saturday and they're closed. Typical of this area, it's just a tax dodge for the owner and not a real restaurant.

Update... after they contacted me back they made things right. Will give them another try Waitress was nice, but the food took a long time just thin pizza.. screwed up one of the pizzas, burger bun was hard, let them know, no one cared. Offered a discount on bill that took the workers at least 20 min to figure out. Billed the wrong amt. Spent 2.5 hrs there for a special dinner that wasnt too special after all that. Tried to contact them, no responses, they do not care. Always liked this place but won't bother coming back. So disappointed in them

Decent sized pizza place near the local community college. They have vegetarian and gluten free options which is great. They seat you with a bowl of peanuts to toss the shells on the floor when finished. Coke products on tap. Wonderful French fries. The gluten free pizza wasn't great. The crust and sauce wasn't for me, but GF crust is rarely good anywhere. Sauce caused major heartburn though. Service was wonderful. Wouldn't mind going back, would probably just get a salad though.

Went in to order a pizza and leave. It was a late order around 8ish. The host seemed really helpful and the waitress took my order. While I waited she gave me some peanuts that are free for anyone. Also gave me a drink while I waited for the pizza to be made. Took the pizza home and it was good. I'd say it's definitely a 7.1 for everything. Not to mention eating it when it was cold the next day was also good. It's hard to find a pizza that you can snack on cold if you like that kind of thing. All in all from what I got from the place, it seemed very nice and seemed like a lot of regulars come. They knew people that walked in by their names. That's always nice.

Bill's Pub is my go to for thin crust pizza. They also make a very good double decker. They have a good selection of specialty pizzas as well. I love their crispy crust! Our pizza came out hot and quickly, the service was friendly. The outside and inside of the restaurant is made to look like a lodge. I can't count how many times I've had their pizza and I'll keep coming back.

Okay one I never write reviews but this warranted a review. Last night myself and wife along with my daughter and brother in law stopped in for dinner. We were sat right away and I was excited after hyping up the group to try a new pizza that I knew they'd love. Well we never got served. We got our drinks after a while. Then our server never made it back to the table. Waited 15 min and finally just left. Why on earth did the manager have this server all over the place. She had a party in the party area I'm assuming. She had tables in main dining and tables on the opposite side. Mind you, there was a bar full of employees doing absolutely nothing but staring. I get it it's the restaurant business and serving isn't exactly a team sport but honestly that embarrassing. Terrible floor plan on whoever the foh manager is. By the way I'm a local and I'm extremely disappointed after getting my group all excited for pizza that we never got to eat. I'd give you a 0 if I could. Worst part is the manager and owner wont even care the only one who suffered was the obvious overwhelmed server that wasn't even shocked we left. Even she knew it. It's definitely not her fault. Won't be back

Some of the best pizza Ive had in IL. The place is well decorated and their staff is very friendly. This has become my regular spot.

Our server was super nice. Love the peanuts! We got pizza tonight and it was great. Also got a buffalo chicken sandwich. Great as well! Pitchers of beer and a glass of wine. A great night!

One of the best local pizza places in town! They have a variety of toppings, styles, appetizers, and other lunch/dinner options. When it comes to pizza, they have a "build your own" option or you can select a specialty pizza on their menu. Note that their pizzas only come in personal, small, or large (no medium).

I love the ambiance of having peanuts & being able to throw the shells on the floor. I always get their thin crust cheese & sausage pizza with an order of garlic bread for an appetizer. Great food!

We've been going to Bills North for a while now and I have to say, management is not what it used to be. Two out of our last two trips to Bills restaurant only to wait 1.5+ hours to get in order of 2 thin crust pizzas. Be forewarned, do not go to Bills on a busy night (which is most of the time) as you will probably wait as long as we did to get your order. I also overheard a waitress explain to the couple adjacent to our table that the reason why their pizza was delayed is because of the amount of phone orders, slice orders and uber orders. Excuse me, but shouldn't the patrons inside the restaurant get a higher priority than all of the above?.

Absolutely the worst experience there. After arriving i needed to use the womans bathroom only to find it out if order. The business posted a sign on the man's bathroom for men women and families. I walked in to what I thought would be a single use bathroom to find a man standing at the urinal. This business should have closed the dining area to customers. Not excepable! I will never go there again!

Really fun place. Enjoyed the ambience where you are in a northwoods pub. Very casual but drinks are very good. We had excellent service and they accommodated a very large group. Food is mainly sandwiches and pizza. We had appetizers and pizza and it was very good. Highly recommended for a casual dinner and drinks with friends.

Very disappointing Pizza today. Something did not taste like it used to. We even asked if they changed the sauce or something else. Waitress came back and said "No, it's all the same". Everything was very bland, dried out. Not enough sauce, skimpy cheese, sausage, and veggies lacking on the Bill's Special. We even left the 1/4 of the pizza as neither one of us wanted to take it home. It is not the same Bill's Pizza anymore and after spending $32.00 for a large pizza I doubt we will be going back.

Two stars because their takeout is very good. I would love to give a more positive review for their dine-in service, but I can't because I received neither. Three families were waiting for close to 15 minutes for seating but we were all actively ignored. One employee simply glared at us. The place was not even that busy. May have just been a bad day, but I would encourage the owner to have their staff to at least acknowledge people waiting for a table rather than just glare.

Ordered pizza through DoorDash delivery not the same quality as previous times. Our Experience felt like the crust almost looked and tasted store-bought! Definitely feel like the quality of the pizza went downhill unfortunately and probably not be a returning customer as i feel like the quality have been slipping for a while now. Also very expensive for sub par pizza. Update: read within the reviews this isn't the first review of the crust being off-maybe time to change the crust or recipe Bill?

This was the worst service and food. Justine was good when we first arrived but failed to check in with us after most of our food arrived. Had to ask several times about my son's pizza which he did not get until after all of us were done eating. She brought checks to all the tables that came in after us. We went to the lady's that were at the register to ask for our check. Justine and another waitress were less than happy when we asked for the check and wondered why all the other tables around us received their checks. We ordered five pizzas and none of them were good. This was a very expensive trip for pizzas at $30 a piece.

I've gotten pizza from this and their other location a couple of times and it's definitely one of the best-tasting pizzas that I've ever had, definitely top 3. It's pretty expensive for pizza but I'd say it's worth it. Ingredients are clearly very fresh and the crust taste very unique.

We've tried the Mundelein location for years. We recently moved closer to the North location. The pizza is good, very good.

Bills Pub is just as it had always been (thank goodness) which is a place with delicious cracker crust pizza, peanuts/shells on the floor, taxidermy all over, a great local place for families and friends to gather for pizza and beer. Cheers!

edited to add: I spoke to the manager and he was very apologetic and comped the price of the chicken. I have always been a huge fan of Bill's pizza. I have always told my wife how good broasted chicken is since it is not available in Texas, where we are from. I have been hyping up broasted chicken to her for the last 10 years. When I found out Bill's had the coveted chicken, I knew it had to good! Boy was I mistaken!! This was the absolute worst broasted chicken I have ever had. It was wayyyy overcooked and dry as a bone. I guess that's why it's called Bill's Pizza and not Bill's broasted chicken. Very disappointed.

the good: server was friendly, some of the food was good- pizza, salad, meatball sandwich were as expected. peanuts on the table are fun. The less good: burger was not good- it's a pre formed patty, overcooked, tasteless, and overcooked (although I would never get a pre formed patty cooked how I ordered -med rare). Fries were cold and mealy. Small menu made me hope that it would be better. Broasted chicken was very overcooked, mom couldn't finish it. The worst- restaurant would not split bill for a multi family seating. I served for years and it's better for everyone if you do this. It's not fun but it's no different than if we came in separately as smaller groups. This means I cannot do business lunches or dinners here and I will not bring a group in again. Making things difficult for your customers to avoid a fairly simple server task is a no- go for me. for the food we got, we could go a bar where we can start our own tabs. Our server even lost our on extra gratuity from several of us because of this too as figuring out amounts was difficult for some in our group. We left feeling frustrated after what was a celebration. What do we tip for if not for standard sit down service? We are meeting at Panera next time, and portillos after that (Decided/organized in your parking lot)

First time we have been here and it was great. Very busy but not too loud. We had a great server, Art. You're greeted by a basket of peanuts and there are shells all over the floor. A down to earth joint. We had one of their signature pizzas. It was really good. My wife is very picky and she loved it. Thin crust was a little crunchy without being over cooked. All the ingredients were awesome and cooked well. I also had the Cod and it was done so well. Moist and huge pieces. Service was fantastic. We will definitely be back or order for home. I can't believe it took so long to try it.

Go to Bills if you want food poisoning from old expired food. Look at the picture of the salad they served my family this past weekend. As you can see the lettuce is literally BROWN and complete mush. This food is not safe to eat. Obviously this had to go straight in the garbage. Bill's should be ashamed for serving people food of this mediocre quality.

One star because the crust changed and it's very weird. It went from airy and slightly charred crust, reminiscent of a pizza cooked in a wood burning stove, to a very basic flat thin crust that was cooked in a regular oven.

Best pizza of all time! Awesome ambiance, slot machines, arcade games, and peanuts! Been going here for 35 years.

4 people in our party spent $150.00 . It is a pizza place, wide selection for pizza people. Very loud with kids. It appeared they need to hire more servers. Servers running non stop. Booths are small. Food was good, menu has less selections. It was an overall good time. BUT, The small lights and light shades on each booth table were covered in DUST! It reminded us of the old restaurants like Shakeys and Barnabys. Might be good for others , not us.

I love Bill's it became my go to after Pat's pizza closed many many years ago I remember my first bites from the original Mundelein location as a kid at my grandmas house and their flavor and quality hasn't change up until recently. While I understand the unfortunate side of inflation costs my biggest gripe is when I ask for a cheese pizza with extra cheese on my pizza, over the past year I never seem to get it... (this is a reoccurring thing) or very rarely do I get it and when I do both my mom and I say now that's a cheese pizza! But this last pizza made me ACTUALLY want to write a review, I know they get busy but attention to detail and quality make me look past the price and order from here than a chain. My pizza was more crust than it was sauce and cheese and if I'm paying for cheese I want the extra cheese. But this pizza wasn't up to the standards I am accustomed to from this establishment, it was way over done the bottom was super dark and crunchy and a noticeable burnt taste, I was not impressed I don't dine in often, but I enjoy the peanut shell crunching floors. It's not too loud even when it's crowded and it still has that nostalgic feel from my childhood. My best friend and I visited here a short while ago and had a great time. All in all I would recommend this place. But the higher score is reflected is off my past experience with this place but I need the quality to be better.

Long story short, I thought we could get in and out. We got in at 5:00 pm It took 2 hours to get 2 pizza's If we had not ordered app and drink we would've just left. Do not fib to people by say another 10 to 12 mins when it's much longer wait. Using the excuse that veggies take longer to cook.

I've been a fan of Bill's Pub forever it seems. When I was a kid in the 80's I would love when my parents brought me. The arcade was awesome. Now I come to Bills North since it's closer. Pizza has always been great. We do carry out now though, due to peanut allergies. (Not sure why they're still doing peanuts, that's weird to me.) Something changed recently. The crust is super weird. It's like a thick cracker with no taste. I saw the owners other comments saying the crust can come out different, but that can't possibly be the reason. Like I've said, Bills pizza has been a staple since childhood. I know something is different. It's just bad pizza.

Phenomenal pizza and atmosphere if you like the lodge feel. Service was quick and attentive.

I haven't been here for a few years and was craving their cheese bacon fries like no other. I remembered it being delicious as well as the pizza. After coming back years later, I am not dissapointed. Everything tasted great just as I recalled. I asked for the fries well done and they delivered. The double decker pizza was so good and a small was enough for 3 people. It honestly made my day having dinner here. I'm writing the review a day later and still thinking about those fries. I definitely recommend coming here. It's very pub-esque, the employees are kind and the food is good quality. Definitely a place to have a couple beers with some friends and order quality food for the table. I only got a video of all the food, so I can't post anything. Trust me when I say though it's absolutely mouth watering.

Been coming here for years. Love the food and used to love the beer prices... tonight we ordered 2 pitchers of domestic beer and pizza. The bill was $80.00!!! $22.00 a pitcher now!!! Ummmm no. Won't be back. Ridiculous
