When my husband and I came to St. Louis for vacation, we stopped at Billy G's a couple of times because it was recommended to us. We ended up LOVING our experiences, sitting inside the restaurant for brunch and outside on the patio for dinner.
When we came here for dinner, we came on a super busy night where they had live music outside on the patio. As a result, most were sitting outside, and we wanted to, as well. We ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes for a table outside despite being able to sit inside immediately, but it was worth it. Although we didn't end up sitting on the end of the patio where the musician was playing, we loved the atmosphere.
When we came here for brunch later in our vacation, we sat at a hightop near the bar, and we loved that atmosphere, too. We were still decently secluded from the busyness of the main dining room, and we were sitting near other couples since the tables near the bar only had two-seated tables.
During our dinner experience, I ended up ordering a delicious frozen mango margarita and a veggie power bowl with chicken ($17.99). This came with brown rice, broccoli, carrots, and low-sodium soy sauce. It was delicious, though admittedly, I think it had too much rice, which ended up drying out the dish. The chicken was grilled and seasoned PERFECTLY, though, and I think the chicken completed the dish. I can't imagine how plain the bowl would have been without any protein. During this visit, my husband ordered the brisket plate ($19.99) and raved about it our whole trip! The BBQ menu is only available Thursday-Sunday, and he was so happy with the way it was cooked. With this meal, you get cornbread and the choice of two other sides, and he ended up ordering the coleslaw and broccoli salad with bacon. He wasn't a fan of the broccoli salad too much, but that was just him not liking it, not that it was made wrong.
During our brunch experience, I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of fruit ($13.99). They have AMAZING gravy with the perfect texture and flavor. I would 100% order this again if I return to St. Louis. For my drink, I ordered the bloody mary, and it was delicious. It was a bit on the spicier side, which I enjoyed, and it had a perfect blend of vodka and tomato so that it didn't taste too strong either way. As for my husband, he ordered the steak & eggs plate ($19.99), and the steak was cooked perfectly to his liking. He also ordered a side of sausage links, which he enjoyed.
Service-wise, we always had great personable waitresses, and everyone at the front desk was also nice and helpful. We had no problems with anyone or anything throughout both experiences.
Overall, we had the best experiences here, and we will continue to recommend to all who visit St. Louis.
