Billy's Avondale

The Fairfield was phenomenal. The chips were good and something different. Billy had a great dipping sauce that was like a sour cream onion dip. The owner really cares and can tell you the restaurant's story. I wish they took cash -- card only. The patio is great on a hot day but handicap accessibility is unclear.

Extremely well crafted sandwiches from local ingredients and a sub-master from NJ and believe me, up north they understand “deli”. Minimal choices on the menu drives quality and consistency which is an extremely smart choice (and I’m a procurement manager for a food service GPO and have worked in the food and hospitality industry for decades). If they add anything, I’d suggest a daily special, maybe even just on the weekends so the regular visitors have one additional option. The owner/operator is also very charming and kind! The pic (the Fairfield) may not look like much but the bread is fantastic, the pork is moist and well seasoned and there is the perfect amount of wonderful cheese to round it all out. The dip sauce was also wonderful. Try it!

Me and my partner recently stumbled upon Billy's and we are so happy that we did! From beginning to end, Billy's goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience and the BEST sandwiches around! Billy, the owner, was super welcoming and such a pleasure to chat with! We walked in hungry customers and felt like we left as friends! You can really taste the passion behind everything on the menu! We can't wait to go back! Thanks Billy! You're the best!

Billy’s sandwiches are the best!! You can tell Billy truly loves what he does and looks for new ideas. For example he is bringing his Mom’s recipe meatballs to his customers soon. My personal favorite is The Fairfield sandwich!

Billy is incredibly personable and makes you feel right at home. I tried the Dartmouth Club and it was fantastic - the pesto really took the sandwich to the next level 🤌. Highly recommend stopping by!

There is something to be said about simplicity and dedication to excellence and this is exactly what you’re going to get here. You can clearly tell the guy that runs this small sandwich shop is proud of his work and wants everyone that comes to get Yule best he’s got to offer We got the roast pork and beef sandwiches. With every bite you can tell how much care went into crafting them. The pork was tender and savory, the spinach complemented it well and the side of juices brought me back to days growing up on the east coast. The beef melted in your mouth and nothing over powered any one component. Side note he included a small sampling of his homemade French onion dip and wow ! I want more !!

The sandwiches were absolutely delicious—great flavor combinations and clearly made with care. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. I also really appreciated that the sandwiches came with chips—such a nice touch and a great deal overall for the price. It’s always exciting to see a new local business doing it right, and this one is off to a fantastic start. Highly recommend stopping by—support local and treat yourself to something tasty!

I genuinely can’t remember a better sandwich I’ve ever had. Every element so good individually- perfectly proportioned and balanced for a perfect bite. If you’re in East Atlanta you gotta roll through. I had the Dartmouth and I’ll be back for the rest of the menu. Billy was so nice and even brought it to my car. Serious hidden gem.
