My fiance and her kids are crazy about this place and this boudin.. I've never heard of this nor have I tasted it but since they're from Louisiana they're crazy about it. It most be popular because the parking lot was packed 🤔😂🤣🤔

Google
Cleanest Bathrooms in Louisiana! The staff is supper friendly. This will be my new regular stop on my drive from Dallas to New Orleans. The coffee is great and the have a quality sections of must have Louisiana seasonings if you love to cook. I didn't buy any food but it smelled great. Best keep secret on Interstate 49!

Google
Tried the drive thru at this new Billy's per recommendation from my sister. Got a Monster burger/$10 (forgot the name) and homemade onion rings (8 in order). Burger was huge and rings were awesome. Definitely will be back and recommend. It's right off of I-49 as u get into Opelousas.

Google
Pepper jack and regular boudin balls were delicious. Didn't like crawfish boil one. Cashier seemed to have dry attitude.

Google
Awesome food and courteous employees. The store was clean and full of convient options. Atmosphere was great and good selection of goodies. The boudin and cracklings here are awesome and have been for many years. Plenty of gas pumps. So the next time you get that urge, stop in here and be amazed! I recommend it.

Google
I can’t believe yet another wonderful place plagued by cheapness now. What once was a great place to eat and gave a good amount of food for the price has now went to 💩also. When asked for 3 links they now cut them in half even if you don’t want them that way and all 3 links fit in a 3”x3” box. RIP Billy’s it was good while it lasted. I was a loyal customer for a long time but that’s over now. This is not a link any way you slice it!!! Jerry Lee’s in Baton Rouge is the last surviving real Boudin place now…

Google
We were driving from Alexandria Louisiana to the New Orleans international airport and stopped here for a bite. The food was great and very authentic to the area which is what we wanted to eat. The staff was very friendly and it was a great value. I was amazed to see the number of people lined up for some Cajun cooking. It was well staffed and so the wait in line was not bad.

Google
Billy’s is probably the best place to stop in and enjoy the best boudin balls the region has to offer. These boudin balls are very tasty and alway a good treat when I am in the area.

Yelp
Absolutely love their cracklins and boudin balls. Hands down, the best. We ALWAYS stop by this location to pick up some cracklins and boudin balls on our way into Opelousas and out. Our favorites are the pork cracklins. Perfect amount of spices and never dry. I love my cracklins to have a little bit of that warm juice fat when you bite into it. They also carry chicken cracklins. I'm not a fan. It's too soft for me. Their crawfish and pepper jack boudin balls are the best. They're not greasy at all. You know it's good when you eat them at room temperature and they're still delicious.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Last two stops the boudin was undercooked i.e. the skin did not pop when you bit into it so the inside was mushy. Employees at the new location need training on what "cooked" looks like and not serve until they're ready or use timers! I'm sure the amount of traffic is greater, but the links have to stay in the steamer to finish the cooking process.

Yelp
Not much to look at but those that know visit Billy's for the product...the food is always flavorful and some of the best that you'll get in the region. My preferred chain for all things boudin. You've tried the rest - now treat yourself to the best.

Yelp
Anytime I'm near a Billy's boudin I'm STOPPING. This is a little shop with some drinks, lunch plates, and frozen goodies to bring home. Service was quick and friendly (2 frozen packs of boudin, 2 fresh boudin balls, and 1 fresh crawfish ball). Those three were delicious as always and perfect for the drive back to New Orleans!
google avatar

Ed D.

Yelp
Boudin is very small. Ordered 3 links and they all fit into a very small styrofoam container. I have never seen them so short. I don't usually stop here as it has been many years and I am nearby every day. Quality seems to have gone down some. Wanted to give it a short.

Dana S.

Yelp
Purchased cracklings. Taste was good however we love the crunch of the fried skin but found several pieces with the skin removed prior to our purchase.
google avatar

Pierre V.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, get the fried boudin thingies! I can eat four of them easily. Lines were long, but that's because it's popular...

Yelp
Not a place to sit down and eat as its part of a gas station, but absolutely a must stop when passing through Krotz Springs. I've only tried items off the hot line (boudin balls, rolls, cracklin) and a few take and cook prepared meats but I've never been disappointed. My favorite is a pepperjack boudin ball. It's always fun to grab a variety of snacks to nibble on, typically always on the road, rarely making it back home with anything left. The service has always been prompt and friendly. Tonight I noticed what looked like a little hub for coffee--something that wasn't there the last time I passed through and definitely something I would like to try next time. If you're a fan of meats and fried foods, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

L. D.

Yelp
This place is hands down the best boudin you can find! They offer a variety of flavors, including regular, crawfish, shrimp, and even one filled with cheese--each one packed with amazing flavor. The crackling is out of this world--crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of crunch. I would give the food 6 stars if I could! The staff was friendly and patient, helping me decide what to get on my first visit. While it's not a sit-down place, it's definitely a must-stop if you're passing through the area. You can even grab some to take home from their freezer selection. If you love authentic Cajun food, Billy's is a place you won't want to miss!

Yelp
The boudin and boudin balls are AWESOME! When LSU has home football games or I am in South Louisiana I stop at Billy'.
google avatar

Rhonda C.

Yelp
Great spot! Traveling and knew I had to stop at Billy's for the frozen boudin to bring back to Texas, as well as the boudin balls with the cheese....OMG! Oh can't forget the cracklin when you come to Louisiana.

Yelp
They must do better. Billy's has 4 locations open with the newest being right off I-10 in Lafayette which would lead folks to thinking they're making money. I can assert for fact they bring in enough profits to update this location or move to someplace cleaner looking and newer in OPELOUSAS yet this decrepit place, see my pictures, is here looking like it hasn't been touched since they moved in. The ceilings are stained. Cobwebs are all over. The padded chairs are torn and busted. There are only 7 and all are horrid. This place looks delapidated by choice. How so? They made 2 change pulls for cash while I was there within the first 19 minutes. I brought 7 people with me and each made $30+ purchases as its new to some andddd they've been in business long enough to do better. They're just content not doing so. I asked for a quarter pound of cracklins' I got 1/3 she didn't try to rid of the excess or acknowledge it. Just charged me and that's that. They have New Orleans Big Shot pops and everyone is nice, working hard through their shifts yet if the owners are not paying a livable way nor real benefits like health/dental/PTO/401k then they're hoarding profits versus putting it back into the business. #cleanUp #gutRemodel or #GetANewPlace and show some pride. A little WiFi never hurt either.

Yelp
This is my favorite Billy's. The food is always fresh and delicious. Customer service is also superb. It's definitely worth the 2 hr drive .

Yelp
Boudin balls and cracklins are pretty close to Cajun heaven - can't get better than this! And they really do them right at Billy's! The boudin is seasoned just right- a nice slow all over mouth burn. Cracklins are terrific- a few are chunky enough that you think you are eating a small pork chop and others are puffy light pieces of skin fried to perfection. Just right at Billy 's. They even have a drive through for those who want to stay in their car to pick up their slice of Cajun heaven.

Yelp
There was a line to the back of the building which is often a good sign. My mom suggested this place to me after I visited her and mentioned my craving, and I am glad she did. I was craving boudin and cracklins and I haven't found a place in Houston where I could get them both and I missed the flavors from my childhood. To be fair, I haven't looked either, lol. Once I tasted Billy's my craving was both sated and renewed. The building smelled amazing, a sure sign that something good was being created and served inside. The menu was like a playground. I got seasoned cracklins, crawfish pie, regular boudin balls, pepperjack boudin balls, and crawfish-boudin roll-ups. I was so eager to dig into everything. The crazy part of all of this, in my excitement over all of the different offerings, I forgot to get my boudin but didn't realize it until I was back on I-45! The cracklins were divine! The right amount of meatiness to go with the satisfying crunch, and the seasoning had me licking my fingers like I'd just ate some fried chicken! The crawfish pie was was delicious as well. The crust was sturdy and kept all of the tasty filling inside the little hand pie. There were easily discernible bits of crawfish and chopped vegetables in a thick sauce tucked inside. I wish I'd ordered two the moment I swallowed the last bite. The boudin balls had a good weight on them and were nice and round, bigger than golf balls. The coating was thick and a bit chewy for my tastes but the filling was the star and shined bright like a diamond! There was no overpowering liver taste at all. Nothing but a well-spiced combination of meat and rice. If that filling is what's found inside the popular links of boudin then put me down for a pound!

Yelp
Oh my! We were driving through and stopped here to get gas and we found a delish restaurant with outstanding Louisiana food! Being from California we had no idea what cracklin and boudin was so the guy at the counter gave us a good sample of some authentic food! It was amazing. The flavors are unbelievable! Now I have to go back to Louisiana just for the food! Try the pepper jack role up- it's so good! And the cracklins- you can't get enough of!
google avatar

Beryl D.

Yelp
Favorite stop in the way to Baton Rouge and New Orleans. They have the best boudin and variety of boudin treats. My favorite is the pepper jack fried boudin ball and the wrap. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Janet S.

Yelp
One more stop on our boudain ball tasting. Ok. The fried corn was lamentable.

Janine A.

Yelp
Absolutely an institution of all things Cajun. This is THE place to go to for all your boudin, boudin balls, crawfish balls, and cracklin needs. My word even if you think you don't like cracklin, you will like this cracklin. It's hot and fresh. Boudin balls- fresh out of the fryer and delicious. Crawfish balls! And they are huge! They gave some locally made packaged pastries and local soda as well. Plus there's a freezer that's packed with all of the Cajun goodies you want to bring home. The ladies behind the counter are very polite and helpful, even if you are a boudin or cracklin novice.

Michelle M.

Yelp
I was slightly disappointed when the package arrived. All of the dry ice was melted and some items needed to be cooked and eaten right away. I have ordered from Billy's in the past and didn't have this issue. Hopefully this doesn't happen again. Friendly staff. The store is kinda small and can get crowded but overall a nice place.

Daniel B.

Yelp
The best Boudin and Breakfast links in Louisiana. I have to bring a second suitcase every time I fly back home.
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
The sign says Billy's Boudin I was working at a hospital in about 20 minutes from there but I ended up staying in a hotel next-door to them, the hospital told me they had the best Boudin balls I would ever taste. They said to order the pepper jack stuffed Boudin balls They were excellent and I would recommend buying a few

Yelp
Every time I travel through this town I have to stop. I always buy the Barbecue cracklins to snack on, fried pepper jack boudin balls and frozen regular & crawfish boudin, boudin balls, sausage to take home. Best boudin ever! My favorite is pepper jack boudin balls!
google avatar

Jazzmin Monique M.

Yelp
I live in Florida and every time I come back home to Louisiana, boudin is a MUST and a nonnegotiable! I have to have it! And Billy's NEVER disappoints! It doesn't feel quite like home until I've had Billy's boudin! It's the best in town! Don't believe me? Try it out for yourself, you don't have to take my word. If you're in a rush and don't feel like it or have the time to go inside, go through the drive thru. There's a menu outside listing everything they have to offer. If you come through town, live in town, or you're reading this review trying to debate whether you should go, Im telling you now, do it! Thank me later ;-)

Sam S.

Yelp
Not the same Billys Boudin as in Scott I always go to Scott and always enjoy the Boudin. It pains me to say this, but this place is terrible. It's completely unorganized and the boudin doesn't taste the same. Not sure what they doing there but I will never stop at the Opelousas store ever again. I actually threw away the Boudin I bought.
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
Today was the first time I've ever stopped and not a one pepper Jack boudin ball was ready. Was told I would have to wait 5 to 10 minutes. Was told the wrap was just as good so decided to try but negative. Was very disappointed...normally there is quite a line however today there was no line inside nor in the drive thru so could not understand why the food was not prepared.
google avatar

Phil P.

Yelp
I reviewed the Scott, LA, location previously, but wanted to drop separate reviews for the Opelousas and Krotz Spring locations. This one is for Opelousas since Krotz Springs is moving/moved into new digs and I want to wait until I've eaten there a couple times before committing comments to the digital domain. Opelousas generally makes their boudin balls just a little bigger than the Scott location, but the roll ups have a little less stuffing, so I skip those at Opelousas and double down on boudin balls. Since writing my review of the Scott location, I've tried the fried corn two more times, and I'm definitely skipping it in the future. Frying it probably quadruples the calories, definitely triples the price (vs. just buying some corn and throwing it on the grill or in the oven), and doesn't improve the flavor or texture of the corn (I really like corn on the cob), so passing on the roll ups and fried corn leaves me the calories to double down on the boudin balls. The crawfish pies and crawfish balls/pistolettes were better at the Krotz Springs location (based on a single sample at each location), but that's pre-construction at Krotz Springs. Regardless, I like the Boudin so much more than the crawfish that I won't be re-trying the crawfish items, making this my one and only review of those items: there are MUCH better crawfish pies to be had in New Orleans/Metairie/Kenner.

Yelp
When I visit my family we are always stop by this store. My husband and kids are love those boudin balls and regular boudin to bring back home. Just way too long drive through .... I can not even park because of parking lot is middle of drive through lane...
google avatar

Sonia K.

Yelp
They have the best Boudain Balls by far!! They even have good homemade seasoned Cracklin! They even have great deals on their meat & frozen goods! I try to stop by there every time I go through Opelousas! Try them you wouldn't want anyone else's Boudain Balls!!
google avatar

Nova L.

Yelp
What can I say that I can't say about this place. If there is one thing in this world you need to do is eat boudin from Billy's. It don't matter what you get it's simple amazing and takes you through a range of favors and and you just envision yourself running through the swamp saying "shoot'em Troy" love this place.

Yelp
Y'ALL!!!! This place right here is sooooo good! On our way back from a road trip to Houston, TX from Virginia Beach, VA, we stopped at a few spots and this was one of them. Recommended by a friend back home that was from around this area in LA. He told us this place has some of the best boudin he had ever experienced and with being a native, that meant a lot! We stopped in and it had a convenience store vibe but with the fridges stocked with meat and other unique foods instead of your traditional things. You will stand in a lengthy line which we were informed by a local was normal for this place. We get to the counter, pick between all of their fried deliciousness, and pay. Price was higher than planned but when we finally ate what we had purchased... it was truly magical! So magical that a year later, we continue to talk about this place to people that haven't a clue and say we are either going to make a special trip back (a 15+ hour drive) or order some of their goodies online and see what happens! Why oh why don't we have a spot selling this addictive treat here in VA? Haha You gotta try this place!!! You'll be addicted too!
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
Great food That's what keeps bringing me back! Lines are way way way to long and customer service needs improvement. Glad when the Carenco location opens.

Brittany S.

Yelp
Food is better at this location than any other one in my own opinion, BOUDIN WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTTER
google avatar

Vinh P.

Yelp
On our trip back from New Orlean to Dallas we stopped here instead of Don's where we usually go. We ordered boudin, boudin balls, crawfish balls, and both kinds of cracklins. The service was friendly and prices are decent but we didn't like it as much as Don's. Too greasy and a little on the salty side.
google avatar

Todd B.

Yelp
Awesome boudin! I've been hitting this place for 20 years on my way back to Texas. Highly recommended. Just wear your patience hat, there will probably be a long line.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
I absolutely love their food. I hate that I missed them last trip through as they just closed for the day!! Definitely go check them out!! Love me some boudin balls!!
google avatar

Alla B.

Yelp
Excellent food, we with my husband are certainly coming back to get more! Very helpful staff and very efficient!
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Yum! My Dad and I came here years ago and couldn't forget how delicious the boudin balls were! So we had to stop by again on our way to New Orleans. Just as yummy as before! Get yourself a boudin ball, a crawfish pistolette, and don't forget the cracklins! Just a fair warning. If you don't like spicy food, this isn't the place for you.

Kyle S.

Yelp
OMG..........what can I say. Was staying at KOA next door for two weeks due to work. Eating healthy was not an option because all the food was soooo good! The extra weight I came home with was well worth it because everything they serve was addictive, especially the smoked Boudin, paper jack balls and the cracklings! You must try them all!
google avatar

Leah O.

Yelp
Best boudin and crackin EVER. Usually very busy but they have lots of staff and move ppl well.

Tricia V.

Yelp
Best boudin with the perfect spiciness! The ladies were busy but still gave great service. Will definitely come back when we are in the area. The owners need to fix and update the building.

Ginger S.

Yelp
Best boudin & cheese balls. Firm enough to hold together while you're eating, crunchy outside, and that melty pepper cheese when you get to the middle is wonderful!

Avalon O.

Yelp
Had to get some boudin for the last time before leaving the southern part of this country and boy this place did not disappoint. Great flavor and just the right amount of heat. Will greatly miss boudin.

Kathy B.

Yelp
I did know what cracklins were but not boudin so we went in and the gal, very nice gal, gave us a sampler free with several types of cracklins and boudin (sausage). It was all yummy so we bought more. We couldn't eat it until evening and I would suggest eating this sort of thing when you buy it. It loses something after sitting in a bag for 7 or 8 hours. I preferred the salty cracklins.
google avatar

Lily M.

Yelp
It's the best boudin in Louisiana! There's a drive thru if you're not up to getting out of the car. It's a stop I make each time I'm driving through Opelousas! Both the Billy's and the Ray's boudin choices are surely to please!
google avatar

Willie W.

Yelp
i drove from NC to LA looking for the best boudin and I found it at Billy's Boudin and Cracklings. I'll be ordering from them in the morning hoping they arrive by Thanksgiving. Love the smoked boudin the best!
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
I've lived in Louisiana my entire life, so I've eaten a lot of boudin. Between their boudin and pepperjack cheese stuffed boudin balls, you won't find any better in the entire state! Absolutely delicious
google avatar

Aileen S.

Yelp
Billy's boudin and seasoned cracklins are the best!

Stephanie G.

Yelp
First of all having the drive-thru was amazingly perfect as I was only passing through Opelousas. Second.... FRIED CORN! What did I do to deserve you. So delicious! Lastly I don't even really like boudin. Even though I'm a Louisianan tried and true, the texture gets me. This is the most flavorful sausage I've tasted. Frying it up in balls made it that much better. A must stop!
