Billy’s Gourmet Hot Dogs

Really nice people serving up an American classic with a twist. The location is kinda in a weird spot such that it's dead on most days... great for a quiet meal but not exactly hot dog vibes. Their vegan dog was pretty good too and definitely freshly cooked. But it did end up being $9 for one so not exactly cheap either. I would still come back when I want a hot dog though because the food itself was really good. I only wished it was a bit more lively and cheaper by $2-3

Can hotdogs be art? They sure can if they are made with love and an artistic flair. Especially when the restaurant is in a really cool art district of a very creative city like Denver. We really enjoyed the meal at Billy's Gourmet Hot Dogs. My wife really enjoyed the Denmark Dog and I had the Smothered Italian Sausage sandwich with hot peppers. The sausage was quite meaty and tasty, loaded with grilled onions and red peppers. Super Yummy!! We added the " Frings " meaning French Fries and Onion Rings. The fries were just perfect, .. crispy and fully cooked and tender inside. The Onion Rings were the star of the show. Cut about a half an inch wide and battered and fried very crispy! The atmosphere is relaxing, we chose a seat outside on the patio where we were served with a friendly smile. Since we came from Houston Texas heat, the evening air in downtown Denver is amazing! Quite and romanticly lit with rope lights, .. it felt magical to be in the heart of the Rino District and still be quite and private. Overall the experience is worth considering a second visit, you should definitely give it a try!!. They somehow figured out how to make the hot dog an upscale experience.

The fries....I will try to speak on something other than The Blue Cheese, Gaelic, and Pesto fries that were amazing. Okay okay. There was a hotdog. It was a great hotdog and it paired so well with the garlic, blue cheese.....ahem. The hot dog was really good. They had a diverse selection of styles as well as Alt and Angus options for the dog itself. The toppings on mine were extremely fresh. THE FRIES THO. Shoestring fries, perfectly crispy, serveded with real minced garlic (not garlic salt! ), a blue cheese that was the perfect choice (not so strong like MayTag ) and a pesto that could have came from your Noni's kitchen. Great music playing, staff was extremely nice (i couldn't remember where I parked but using landmarks and his phone we were able to sleuth it out) and you know how some people smile with their whole face? The young woman working, she smiled with her whole soul! A drink, the fries and the styled hot dog was $19 Great place and highly recommended!

I really enjoyed the hot dogs from here! I tried the Coney Dog and the New York Dog. I feel like the pricing is reasonable and I would order them again. The cheese sticks didn't have any cheese in half of them though...so that was a little disappointing.

Don’t get me wrong, they have some interesting toppings/choices but that doesn’t mean they’re good and certainly does not make them gourmet. My husband got one that looked like it was full of cheese-wiz. I got the Seattle dog and nothing was fresh about the cabbage, and the BBQ sauce wasn’t chilled as described in the menu and it was pretty much disgusting. Way too much bun..not a lot of dog in general. I tried my daughter‘s hotdog, which was just a plain hot dog to try to give Billy’s the benefit of doubt, but even that didn’t taste good. There were two servers working, one was really nice, the other was not very nice at all. I don’t think we’ll ever be coming back here again.

The ambience at this restaurant gives off the ambience as a small family-owned business. I'm from Detroit and back home we have a restaurant called Coney Island where the cuisine specializes in red chili entrees like chili cheese fries and chili cheese hot dogs. Billy's seems to be a replica of that only they offer squeeze cheese with their toppings. They had different items on the menu & everything tasted well and it's worth visiting again

Overall, great experience. Customer service was great. Seems like locally owned in the owners might be the ones working super friendly. Hot dogs were good. Wouldn’t say they were the best I’ve ever tasted but definitely good. I had the Tijuana dog and I had the Wagyu hot dog.

I have a very high standard for hot dogs. If you’re ever near Athens, OH go to O’Betty’s and you’ll understand. I ordered a Billy, Taco, and Tijuana dog. The hotdogs are decent, but would be better if they were cooked on a flat grill and if the buns were toasted. I was the only one in the place but it was 11 on a Monday. This review is solely based on the food which wasn’t bad, but it’s not gourmet even by hotdog standards. I had no issues with service.

100/10, best dogs in Denver. It was super quick and staff is great! We got the Denmark, Seattle, and brat and all were insanely good!

After having a Billy's dog at a concert at Ball Arena, my daughter and I were excited to go to the actual location and get the full experience. We could not possibly be more disappointed. The service here was the absolute worst. Not sure what is going on but this is the second time this has happened to us in Denver where the listed price on the menu is not what you get charged. After being rung up, all items were at least a dollar more than what was stated on the menu. When I asked the person ringing me up if the prices went up today or what, I got a blank stare and no response. The wait for a couple of hot dogs was far longer than I expected. When the food arrived the taste was off. At the Arena, the dogs snapped and juices exploded out from the fresh dogs. These were leathery and stale, like day old dogs. The sauerkraut was the wrong shade of sour and the ketchup from the bottles tasted like they had been in that bottle far too long in between cleans. Having a brain cell killing podcast blasting throughout the restaurant killed any chance at a vibe. That was a first for me, who skips music for a garbage podcast? The level of disappointment my daughter and I experienced was unmatched and whatever is going on with these up charges with no explanation going on needs to stop. Never going back and I will go one step further and just issue a warning to steer clear of this place.

As we walked in we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for food. Hopefully that usually means the food will be hot and delicious. The place wasn't even that busy. I ordered the New York hotdog that was very underwhelming and my hotdog was hard to bite and chew. It didn't taste hot and fresh. The actually hot dog was very tiny. We only spent about $17 dollars on 2 hot dogs and a waters, so I'm glad everything was relatively cheap. The tables outside were dirty and the menus inside looked like they had been overused and not cleaned in a while. Probably won't be coming back to try anything new.

I ordered food from here on uber eats and apparently they offer their own delivery service but long story short I ordered waiting for my food for all night with no updates and they never delivered my order but I still got charged $36 dollars I even tried contacting them but they never answered. Don't order delivery off them if your not willing to get scammed

I've been searching for the best hot dog in Denver and had to check this place out! Small little hot dog shop with a nice outdoor patio area- I enjoyed the atmosphere! Quick counter service and they will bring your food to you. We tried 3 different dogs- the Coney Dog, the Texas Tommy, and the Bronco Billy. The Bronco Billy was definitely the favorite. I really enjoyed the combination of flavors with the cheese and bbq sauce, and the added touch of jalapeño was delicious. We also grabbed the half and half fries and those were a great side for our meals. Definitely enjoyed the flavors. Would love to see more non-cheese options!

Sooooo just be careful buying food from these guys at concerts. Some nice people, but for one OVERLY priced hot dog at $14 ...I would expect for a drink and chips to go with it. Ohhh no. No no no. That's just the hot dog. Adding an SNACK sized bag of chips and a Water racks on another $15 to that meal alone! Never will I EVER Buy a hot dog, plus a snack bag of chips and water for $29 PLUS tip?!?! Turned out to be $34 total?!? Don't even talk to me about tipping culture now. But $15 for a water and chips?!? Ohhh and guess what this man did when I was paying... didn't even tell me how much it cost and the FlIPPED the damn iPad over so I Can't even see the price. He knew what he was doing...: he knew. Save your money people. Not worth it.

Food truck came on job site. High prices! $9 for a "Billy Dog" hot dog w/ + $7 for fries. I opted for Chilli cheese fries. They were $11 for a child size/side portion. The fries were ok, but so are Sonic's at $5 for a large.

Great vibe, really friendly staff, got the 24 hour dog, vegan dog, and jalapeño poppers. the dawg was to die for, vegan dog reported as "10/10" from the fiancé, and Jalep popps were delicious Will be back to try their beef and breakfast

What's not to love? Billy's has delicious hot dogs, with super creative menu options. They also have amazing milkshakes and fries. A friend and I were in town wasting time before our flight back to Philadelphia and were in need of a snack. We had found a cool beer garden online and while on the way there saw the sign for Billy's and could not resist. The meal was relatively inexpensive -- two hotdogs, a milkshake, fries, and two bottles of water for less than $40 with tip. While I'm not a local, I'd definitely go back and recommend friends in Denver check it out.

Great service and a mighty tasty glizzy I got the Bronco Dog, and even as a Raider fan I really enjoyed it Girlfriend enjoyed the bratwurst a lot

Or for something with a little more kick, try their "Hot and Spicy" dog - it packs a punch. They do have a selection of vegan and vegetarian hot dog options. Don't forget your fries, nachos, and ice cream! The service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant has a cozy ambiance. It's an excellent spot for a quick lunch or a very casual dinner. Parking can be difficult. You just have to find a spot.

From Chicago so I love a good dog. These hold up to the standard. Always end up trying a few and all of them have been great. It feels like a little hole in the wall but the patio is a great people watching spot. They do sell beer here! The staff always recommends what to order and the food comes out quick. We usually stop here before going to an event where we will be drinking

Hits the spot! As a connoisseur of Chicago dogs, Billy's gets it nearly perfect. No ketchup, mustard, neon green relish, onions, tomatoes, pickle, poppy seed bun...all check. Bonus with Vienna Beef dogs. Only miss was not steaming the buns. 9 out of 10. I thought the fries were perfect, skin on, perfect fry and corse salt seasoned - 10 out of 10. My wife had the Denmark dog on a GF bun. She said the gluten free bun was nice and airy. 8 out of 10 (high praise from her). Atmosphere and location are 10 out of 10. Misters on patio. Decent beer selection - 12.

Usually get these dogs at Avs games and wanted to stop in to the actual restaurant to check it out and Derick and Vanessa did not disappoint! Fast and very friendly service with great suggestions! Food was great! I can't wait to come back!

Came here for the first stop of a food tour and tried the spicy polish sausage. I normally don't go for dogs with sauerkraut but I enjoyed this one. I'm a mustard fan so the spicy brown mustard on it was good. I would try this place again for a future visit.

My elk dog was super good, a little zip to it and the sauerkraut made it extra yummy. I opted for a side of mozzarella sticks, those were alright. My favorite kind of mozz sticks are the ones wrapped in wonton, it's been so long and several states away since I've had them that way (can't be that hard to find/make?!). The staff was super duper nice. I was bummed they didn't honor the Yelp check-in -- wish we had more of these @Yelp! Since there are so few check-in offers it's even suckier when the staff won't honor them but it's probably not their fault, but those decision-makers above their pay grade. They do have some brews to choose from and an ample amount of seating both inside and outside. Try something new at Billy's!

Absolutely delicious and amazing staff! I came in on a Monday night to grab a bite after bar hopping and what a great stop! Their hotdogs were absolutely delicious crispy and packed with flavor. We also had a order of fries which were Homemade!! My absolute favorite (similar to five guys) . I would absolutely recommend.

Great food, needs warmer when received. Great flavors. Add on fee is perplexing, plus delivery plus tip, plus prices going up. But its good. I order extras and eat them on next day or two. Have to heat dog separately. Then insert dog back inside, and nuke nmbun for 10 sec to get fresh soft roll. Their italian beef is authentic messy chicago neighborhoods food. ​

Would I come out of my way to eat here? No. Would I come here to eat on my way home from drinking in the area? YES! Or if you are a corn dog lover, this is the spot to get a quick and cheap corn dog! The breading was crisp and flavorful. I know a good corn dog. I ordered the basic Billy Fries - light salt. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The inside was cleaner than I expected. I was shocked and impressed by the quality and quantity of outdoor seating. I recommend checking in on Yelp when arriving... there is a special surprise :)

A decent hot dog spot in RiNo, it was pretty on par for what I expected. Do you need to go out of your way to come here? No. Is it a good to hit on the way home after a night out in the area? Yes. The outdoor seating was nice, and I liked the flavor of the hot dog. I ordered the Denmark dog - It came loaded with toppings. I wish the dog was a little bit bigger though, it was a pretty skinny one, so wasn't incredibly filling. For the price and location though, still thought it was a decent value, especially to crave a late night snack.

The hot dogs were delicious and we got the garlic pesto blue cheese fries, very good stuff. Will definitely be coming back. The staff was incredibly nice and fast service.
