Wish I could give them a 0 star. Clearly racist and the door "man" puts his hands on women forcefully pushing them out if they can't dig their ID out of their bag in time for his patience. They will charge you to use the restroom. Not worth going .

Billy's is a great place to learn Spanish dancing on Wednesday nights 8p-9p, free dancing afterwards. They have events all throughout the week.

Google
Went and saw K-Rock perform live, which the band was a 5 for sure! However, I have to take in the atmosphere and service; no food available. Overall a solid 3. Decent drinks at a decent price.

Google
No food there, but they let you bring it in from one of the yummy places nearby. There was not wait staff Saturday night but the bartenders were on point. It's a great venue that remains one of the top places in the city for live music and dancing.

Google
Came here to visit from out of town with a good friend. The white bartender with dark hair was clearly uncomfortable with our presence as the only black couple there. I’m from the city and have a prominent high paying career, but you can tell the city of Grand Rapids isn’t welcoming or used to that kind of vibe. I rarely use my real name or tell people what I do or where I work, but the white lady with the dark hair earned a terrible review in circles & industries that actually matter.

Google
Casual and chill. Free pool when we went which was fun! But if you’re going for Guinness, don’t. Mine was not poured correctly at all.

Google
A beautiful hole in the wall you will want to come back to. And don't think they will take it easy on you on the pool table or dance floor lol

Google
First time I had been there. Walked im during the comedy show and then karaoke! Even got up on stage with my friends...it was a blast! Met some very nice people and the staff was more than friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I went on a Thursday night desperate to find a place to dance at on a random weekday. They advertised that Thursday's are their college night. I'm not sure if they meant early 00s like 2000-2010 college era but it was FANTASTIC. I grew up on that early 2000s hip hop and r&B so that was nostalgic. The crowd is exactly within that age group. It was a fantastic fun night. Drinks weren't high end and amazing but for $11 they'll taste like you'd expect. I'd recommend going with a group of friends and staying accountable for one another. The cover is $5 with college ID or $10 if you're an adult not in college. I'll be back to dance here.

Yelp
How Marissa has a job here still is beyond me, the most rude and awful bartender in Grand Rapids. Since you like you delete my reviews from google I'll put it here. This places drugs people and allows others to get drugged and turns a blind eye. The bartenders and security are all doing lines and shooting up before, during and after their shifts. Get better staff and maybe protect your paying customers from being drugged.

Yelp
I love everything about Billy's! And Their Music Bands, I use to always have my birthday parties there before I moved to Florida!

Kai S.

Yelp
Don't LEAVE YOUR CARD WITH THE BARTENDERS. last night I had started a tab for a birthday party .. when I went to go cash out the bartender marissa gave someone with a completely different name my card . it was a completely diff card from a completely different bank . when I was told .. she had told me "idk what you want me to do" watched me ask everyone at the bar if they knew the person who had taken my card . I most certainly will not be back and am really upset the way it was handled without an apology or any sort of acknowledgment that it was a huge mistake .

Kyle O.

Yelp
Very poor bouncer. a group who of friends and I were in Grand Rapids for one of our buddies 22nd birthday and we were turned away by a bouncer with a pony tail that was very obviously intoxicated. he then proceeded to say we all had fake ID's(we are all 22 and older so they definitely weren't fake). never even got to see if the bar was good.

Yelp
Get ready for a strong drink and a good time. The vibes at Billy's are immaculate as this is one of the most eclectic crowds in town and they offer music for almost everyone at some point in the week. The prices are great and the popcorn is appreciated.

Daniel M.

Yelp
There's for two of us for VIP seating to youth show last Saturday night VIP seating was a rope across the front with fold up seats. It was probably a good thing that the lights were low. Cannot see what actually was on the floor that was sticky do you know it's bad when you're at a bar for a show that lasts 3 1/2 hours and you don't feel safe to order a drink or a bonus, put a little effort into giving their clients value for their money

Yelp
As I wither into old age, Billy's remains the eternal fruit of Eastown. Come one, come all. If you're looking for a good time, Billy's lounge has a night for you. The crowd is extremely dependent on the nightly entertainment, ranging from eastown transients to new moms' night out. A place where old souls seek young bodies and old bodies seek young souls. Sunday (80s night) and Thursday (90s night) are certifiably the most fun the city has to offer on those occasions. If you're lucky enough to get Brian the bartender, be glad that he's the best happy hour drink slinger in town. Also great Michigan beer selection and the drinks cheap enough to give you Koch brothers buying power. Overall a great time if you want to sacrifice your inhibitions on the dance alter.

Yelp
Billy's is a place where you can always go to meet a friend or listen to a band. The list of bands that come through there are all decent. They especially do Blues well! The beer and spirit selection is also decent. There's no kitchen there, and food is limited to popcorn, but you can order it or bring it with you. It's a great place to hAng out and become a regular.

Carol L.

Yelp
I go to Billy's almost every Thursday and I have never had a bad time! The bartenders are amazing and really take care of me and my friends whenever we come in!!!

Larry P.

Yelp
Horrible bouncers..don't go unless you got 50 to get in. .waited hour and half then left thirsty

Yelp
After going to way too many 80's nights, I was overjoyed to find a 90's night in the area. Billy's puts my favorite 90's hip hop, pop and a few grunge-ish songs on rotation on Thursday nights. Think Boys II Men, TLC, LL Cool J, and Montel Jordan with a smattering of Live and Foo Fighters. Things don't get going till late here so keep that in mind when you plan your night. I lost my voice to singing (ok, shouting) along to Salt N Pepper's "Shoop" but it was totally worth it the next day. If you're not already familiar with Billy's it's the preeminent bar in Eastown, with a great selection of tap and bottled beers and a full bar. It stays close to its community roots by featuring local, live music and nice, neighborly drink specials during the week.

Sheryl L.

Yelp
Nice place to relax and meet up with friends. Great music and special blues events. Pool table and free popcorn.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Friendly bartender, cool and casual space, and incredibly cheap drinks. There's a pool table and jukebox in the back. No food here (aside from free popcorn from the machine in the back and they sell tubs-o-nuts). So you can grab food and bring it in (yesterdog is right next door). A pitcher of beer, two pints and a tub of nuts ran me $17. So cheap!
google avatar

Charlene K.

Yelp
The live bands are fun, and the drinks are cheap. Wayyyyy better then Mulligans down the street!

Isabel J.

Yelp
Very poor customer service from bartenders and bouncers. No one employed there seems to want to be there and it shows. Very rude. I won't be back.

Yelp
Memories...I met the love of my life, shakin' my ass on this dance floor. What's not to love about that? And it's right across the street from Mully's! Oh, Mulligan's. I miss you. Stews....yum! Mostly, I just miss Mulligan's. But Billy's is alright, too. I'll see you there, darlings (and then we'll head over to Mulligan's)!

Yelp
Love going here!! My dad is the singer in the band Hip Pocket and Az Izz!! I have a great time and love the atmosphere!!

Yelp
Very close to 5 stars but the smoke and the fact that I have only been a couple of times keeps me from it. We went this past Saturday to see Lurrie Bell. It was a phenomenal experience. I would love to have been able to listen to the blues and drink good cheap beer in its heyday in speakeasies and such. But in GR this is as close as it gets. There isn't much food other than nuts, but they let you bring in yesterdog or your own stuff. The BEER is top notch for bottom-shelf prices. I had 2 different New Holland Brews on tap and a Leiny Nut Brown. If I had more time they had a ton of craft brews all for $3.50/pint. The ambiance feels like a blues bar, kind of dark with a plenty of tables, a nice bar and pool tables in the back. 2 Thumbs up here.

Yelp
Billy's is an Eastown favorite. Always hosting live music and DJ's. On Sunday nights they host REAGANOMICS an 80's dance party with DJ Silvahalo. Tuesdays is FEVER, a disco, Motown, 70's dance party with DJ Hustlah. With great music, $1 Old Styles, and $2 well drinks, how can you go wrong?

Tonya T.

Yelp
My husband and several friends have raved about how great this place is. I will never know because the security men were very rude and condescending this evening. We waited in line for more than 20 minutes and watched one of the guys let in 2 separate groups of people. When my husband inquired about the situation the rudely said he thought my husband had left and that the first group of people were family. Customer service should always be a top priority in any business. It would more effective to let patrons know the potential wait time versus talking down to them.

Yelp
Billy's is so hype on a Monday like never before. I still have yet to explore the rest of the week but the crowd is amazing and full of slumped bodies. This is the place to kick it!
google avatar

Ladonna C.

Yelp
Amazing place! Get on over there right away to see the great bands and wonderful staff!

J T.

Yelp
This place is awesome...exactly how a regular ol' bar/lounge should be. I've only been recently on Sunday which is 80's Night and it certainly didn't disappoint. Music was kickin', all the freaks were out and they had beer specials going for $1. Ummm yeah, $1. In the words of Toby Keith, "I love this bar...it's my kind of place....just walkin' through the front door puts a big smile on my face"
google avatar

Apryl C.

Yelp
I love going out to Billy's. I normally get there sometime during the week. I used to come for the Open Mics, but sadly, those have gone away. They do have some good drink specials, pool in back, popcorn, well mixed drinks, cheap shots, great staff, and clean bathrooms, which is always a good thing for a bar.
google avatar

Darrell S.

Yelp
This is a great space from the wood decor to the sound and set up! You have to love a place where you can get Bell's on Draft and the crowd was definitely stellar! Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town!!!
google avatar

Jordan G.

Yelp
90s night on Thursday is the best night a bar can have. They have affordable good drinks and also free pool before a certain time.
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
Billy's is one of my favorite bars in Grand Rapids. Tuesday is a good night to go because you get $1 Old Style/PBR/ High Life in bottles and no cover. The live music is mostly good (sometimes open mic night opens up to the freaks), which you can't say about many places around here. The service was really good and the bar has a great atmosphere with a really diverse crowd.
google avatar

Ray C.

Yelp
it's a good place...80S night is BLAST! Check out their happy hour r specials if you can. Went on a Sunday for 80s night and it was the bomb.com. you should try it out and grab a yesterdog to chase that beer!
google avatar

Joseph N.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in the city. Good deals, good music, good vibes. Sometimes on Mondays you'll get some garbage debates but most of the time, Billy's delivers.

Bob H.

Yelp
Love the 80s 90s and 2000 music. Really great service, although I think they may use some kind of cell phone jammer or it's the buildings structure because we all (9) were unable to check on her children or even use our phones for anything. Hoping it's not a cell phone jammer because those are illegal.

Janna S.

Yelp
Friendly Bartenders, cool little places, nice selection of alcohol. I have seen lots of people who are under aged coming in recently. You better train your security how to check Fake Ids. These Under aged gals and guys pictures are in your site. Better remove before the city gives you citation or force to closed down. Which I don't want to see that happen.

Matt V.

Yelp
Really impressed with this establishment! From the outside it appears to be your run-of-the-mill bar but the staff was friendly and the place features the cleanest restrooms I've ever seen.

Chris S.

Yelp
I just recently moved to Grand Rapids and was looking for some good local music. Billy's definately got me off to a great start. Last night my wife and I saw Sweet Japonic and had a great time. From the looks of Billy's upcoming show list they have a great quantity and variety of artists. If they are half as good as Sweet Japonic , I will be back to Billy's many times in the future! The service, setting, and crowd were all fine but secondary to the great music.
