"Bina’s, the divey new bar from Centro Restaurant Group, has a succinct cocktail menu of daquiris, espresso martinis, cowboy gimlets, and cosmos, plus a few others. The Hottest New Restaurants in Minneapolis and St. Paul Right Now, May 2024

"Bina’s, the divey new Northeast Minneapolis bar from Centro Restaurant Group, serves fun, funky Midwest bar fare: Think wagyu butter burgers, ham-and-pickle roll-ups (a.k.a. Minnesota sushi); deviled eggs; scotcharoos. There’s plenty of dive bar ephemera, a small-town-meets-city vibe, and a succinct cocktail menu of daquiris, espresso martinis, cowboy gimlets, and cosmos — plus Wisco’ Old Fashioneds (served sour) and Grape Ape shots. It’s just next door to Centro on Quincy Street." - Eater Staff

Recommended by a friend who knew how much I dig a kitschy dive bar type spot and their rec was well received! We stopped in on a Monday YES a Monday (not many NE MPLS restaurants are open Mondays) and it was chill. Pull tabs were available and we ordered some HH drinks and food. Smash burger was exactly as I imagined it (tasty) and chicken tendies were also PERFECT. Monday is Martini Monday which I did not indulge in but will soon. There is darts, A POOL TABLE and an arcade game of some sort along with cool decor and Christma-themed bathrooms. This place rocks. I am not about to gate keep. Go here.

Great, low-key spot to grab a drink and a delicious burger. The smash burger is really tasty, complemented by the pickles, onions, and Bina's sauce, on a soft bun. The fries are outstanding, uniquely cut wedges, well salted, perfect for dipping. Cocktails are solid. The bar is casual, with a throw-back feel in terms of decor, but clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and relaxed. A nice option for a spot to hang out, have a drink, and grab a bite in Northeast.

First impression - above and beyond my expectations for a dive bar!! I love the ambiance; it feels like a fresh and clean dive bar. Sit at the bar - service is great! Food was also good, but a touch on the salty side for all of the food we ordered. Must have: deviled eggs. Bloody Marys are also good. NA beer options weren't good, but they do have Diet Coke! I don't recommend the Rachel sandwich (not bad but not good). Bonus: the deviled eggs are served in an even number!!!! Very rare to find!!

This juicy little place has a lot to offer between the lip-smacking good food, zippy drinks, and bar games. There’s something for everyone. I don’t recommend the Nordeast sushi, but the burger and wings were fire.

Part of the Centro restaurant group. Everything is great except the parking situation. During peak hours, its near impossible to find parking near the area. Food was great, its the same QR code ordering as the other restaurants. The Bina burger was almost like a Juicy Lucy without the mess. Chips were great. Deviled eggs were good. Drink options are limited and the menu is kinda overpriced, but that hasn't disuaded anyone from coming. There are bar games and the whole place has a speakeasy vibe.

Best grilled cheese I've ever had in my LIFE. The bread was thick, ultra-soft and tasted like cheesy garlic bread heaven. Mozz sticks w/ tomato soup dipping sauce... so fire. I loved the vintage 50's diner vibe mixed with modern, chic elements- just a really unique space. The bartenders were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Never seen a bar with Jell-o shots before. QR codes were slick and made for fast ordering. And the bathrooms?!?! Such a fun, unique new addition to NE.

Unique hip old style dive bar… does that make sense? Dark interior with disco balls to light up the atmosphere. Mouth watering burgers sparking your tastebuds, curled crispy fries, deviled eggs with a pickle chip could use a little spice but still good, beer was cold and blackberry bootlegger went down way too fast. Service was attentive and treated us well.

Google
Brand new Bina’s coins itself a dive bar…big shoes to fill for a brand new bar in NE Mpls, land of dive bars. But somehow…it does it. The dark lighting that helps you forget what time it might be, the dark wood rafters and wood bar complete with leather cushion around the edges, black leather swivel bar chairs, and a refreshingly trim but thoughtful drink and food menu. Complete with complimentary matchbooks. The deviled eggs are good, the moz sticks are rich and served with tomato soup for dipping, and there are a grand total of 3 beers on tap. Nothing is too expensive and you could easily have a good time with $20 here. Somehow it doesn’t seem new. Somehow, it feels like it’s been here all along and you could even forget you’re in the city for a spell. The kitschy random decor is cute but not trying too hard or overwhelming. The Xmas decorations in the bathroom could’ve come off as fussy but somehow, you end up feeling like you’re at your friends house during the holidays. The parking isn’t the best and the side street is rife with potholes. But it’s a dive…you get what you get!

Yelp
A fun spot in NE with fantastic food, great service, and good drinks. We were able to find a parking spot in their lot and a few seats at the bar at 5:30 on a Friday. We lucked out though as the place was packed! Ambiance is very dive-esque with old bar decor, pull tabs, and a pool table. It's not a huge spot, so it got pretty loud at times with all the people. I had the Cappelletti Spritz and the Cowboy Gimlet. The gimlet is great if you like spicy tequila drinks! I split the burger/fries and wings with my partner and don't know which one I liked more! Both were super tasty. And I'd never had fries like this before. I will definitely return, but maybe will try to go during a slower time.

Yelp
Loved the decor and vibe of this new dive bar!! The staff are really great as well. The food is nothing special, but still pretty good for a dive bar. The best thing about the whole place, is the bathrooms! They are so quirky and bizarre, and I loved it. Also, the playlist was 10/10 when I was there. Will defiantly be going back!!

Yelp
Nestled in with the art district in NE Mpls, you'll find Bina's on a brick street in much need of work. Entering the front door from the unassuming bar front; you will find some lounge chairs, and a pool table (finally). Further back, you will find yourself at the bar. First off, this place gets four starts just for the name itself. It is probably the greatest name anyone could name a bar! If anybody knows a Bina, you'll know: 1. They are the coolest people. 2. They know where the skeletons are buried and will keep your secrets. 3. Will totally have a drink with you. Any day, any time. With all those superlatives I probably don't need to sell you any more on getting your rear-end here, but seeing this is Yelp, I can tell you more about the food and drink. First, the beer selection is modest, which is completely fine. You will find your standard IPA selections, Pils, Lagers, and some hard seltzers, and ciders. You will also have your choice of nationally branded beers. A Pabst silo (AKA Tall Boy) and a shot (Wild Turkey is their cool rail bourbon) will run you about $8.00. Their cocktails are well made, and they take their time to craft them appropriately, so big props here. I strongly suggest either Old Fashioneds or the Cowboy Gimlet if you want some spice in your life. On the Food side of the equation, everything has been pretty good. The Bina Burger is quite good. The Wings are very good. I will say whatever they try to pass off, as blue cheese dressing for the wings could certainly be much better. I am unsure what that watered-down stuff was served to me. The Nordeast Sushi, which is basically pickle rollups. These are good. This is just a personal note, but I didn't care for whatever they put in their cream cheese, but that's just me. The last item - their fries are like really thick potato chips...I really enjoyed them. Thus far, been here four times, and have had a blast day drinking here. Bartenders are cool, and you can drop yourself at the bar and chew the fat with your fellow bar patron easily. I realize that they market this as a "dive bar.", Compared to the places I drank growing up in Western WI, this place is plenty comfortable with a laid-back vibe, and this is the place I'll be hanging my hat at on the weekends. You should too.

Yelp
As a long time fan of Centro and Everywhen, I was excited about their newest concept - "dive bar" Bina's. First and foremost, I am not crazy about a "dive bar" themed bar. You can't design a dive bar. It comes with age. Nothing about the decor of this place says "dive bar". Sure, they have tacky flooring and a weird wood panel bar back but it all looks new... probably because it is. I would probably use the word retro. Aside from that, this spot rocks. The staff was all amazing. There were 3-4 bartenders behind the bar and they all did a fantastic job making you feel welcome. Started my visit with an old fashioned. It was pretty solid. After the OF I turned my gears to Schells Deer Brand. This is one of my favorite beers and almost no bars carry it so that's a huge bonus. For food I began with deviled eggs. It was a deviled egg. Fine, but nothing jaw dropping and I didn't expect it to be. I had heard rave reviews about the burger right away so that's what I went for. It was freaking delicious. Definitely a bar burger. Nicely charred smash patty, soft bun, pickles and onions, cheese. There was also a burger sauce that I literally didn't taste at all but I didn't care. I was impressed just the way it was. I will not that my significant other received the wrong sandwich. We mentioned it and the bartender said was extremely apologetic and they brought out a new sandwich. And then the side was wrong. Honeslty, not a big deal. Place is new and they have kinks to work out. Overall we enjoyed the experience and will 100% be going back.

Yelp
Although its hyped up to be "divey" or a rendition of a up north Wisco bar, I wouldn't go that far. i appreciate the vintage beer signs, the old photos of generations now gone, etc. but it doesn't cover up the fact this is a commercial building. With that said, I wasn't disappointed in my lunch. One of the best values in MSP, between 11-3 M-F, a burger and chips is $10. It was excellent. A greasy wagyu burger with fried onions, american cheese and sauce was decadent for all the right reasons. We sat at the bar and also ordered deviled eggs. They were solid and a value at $6. The bartender was great. Zero complaints. A solid experience. Wouldn't hesitate to stop back in when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Cute spot that popped up in NE by the owners of Centro. The space is large and bright with beautiful art and funny sayings on the walls. We went on a Thursday afternoon and it was relatively empty. We ordered our drinks from the bartender and the food through the QR code however I think you can order with either or. The bartender was funny and friendly and we will absolutely be back. Can't wait to see the vibes during art a whirl!

Yelp
To start I'm giving 4 stars for the service. The atmosphere is still being built. Love the claw machine. The pull tabs that will soon be there. I'm not a loud music person, but they had the 70s disco music up and I was digging it. The bartender was awesome, very attentive. The food- I had the tuna melt on sourdough. It was good. I'm a sucker for a tuna melt. I asked for just chips but got the fries. Those are hand cut. Very good. Hubs got the binas burger. That was bomb. It made me think of the movie "the menu". Just all around good. Picture perfect and delicious. (If you haven't seen the movie. Watch it) The deviled eggs are to be rivaled with groveland tap. My loss of a star is the fact they are a "dive bar" Dive bars don't measure their shots. Teach the count for illusion if nothing else. It feels very hip to be square rather than a saddle up type of joint. Though at the end they win my heart with a cherry/fireball Jell-O shot. Though- I don't think dives offer those......

Yelp
Ambiance was super cool and the food was amazing! Easy to order, just scan a QR code at your table and the food was ready within 15-20 minutes. Will be coming back this summer!

Yelp
New spot that just opened up a few weeks ago in NE Minneapolis! I enjoyed my time here with my friend, the scenery was unique, but cool! I need to come back and check it out again. I don't think I really got to enjoy it. It has pool and other activities as well! Don't use my review to shy you away from this place, please check this place out!

Yelp
Really enjoyed Binas. As a Wisconsinite I felt at home as they have Miller Lite, smash burgers, and cheese curds. This feels like a slightly upscale dive bar with pool table, pull tabs, and plenty of bar seating. This is one of those places were you order off your phone and pay and then they bring you your order which I used to really dislike but I found it to be not too difficult. I really like the happy hour and the fact they even have one...seems like many places in Minneapolis don't even have a happy hour anymore or it's very weak. This place offers beer and bump which I recommend. The burgers are good but are pretty salty. We also had the pickle fries which were fine but I think I'd be fine with the simple burger and fries again. The espresso martini also seemed like a popular drink and they had good bar staff.

Yelp
The fries are uniquely good and the mn sushi is delicious. You won't have a server and all orders are via QR code. Got apps without plates. No water. What am I tipping for?

Yelp
Amazing service, great food-try the grilled cheese sandwich! Looks small from the outside but there a lot of room, a perfect addition to Northeast.

Yelp
Every food item I tried was amazing! Especially love the pickle fries, chicken tender melt and fries. The bootlegger was my favorite drink on the menu. Such a cute spot to hangout in, the ambiance is amazing.

Yelp
I was so excited to go here! it's not good and should be avoided. The music is so loud you can't hear, and I like a good tune. There is no personal touch here...you order from your phone and drinks and food are dropped off by snippy people. The food is sub-par. This place needs a lot of work before they become a neighborhood staple. Yikes. (Note to owners: get friendly servers who are quickly asking if you need another drink and serving them friendly and you'll make a lot more money!)
