I had the best experience getting my custom suit from Bindle & Keep, and Ashley is a huge reason why. I’ve owned a bunch of suits before, but this was the first time I actually understood what a good suit should feel like. From start to finish, everything was super easy, comfortable, and low-stress—which is exactly what you want when planning a wedding. Ashley is amazing at what she does. She literally guessed my exact shoulder length before even measuring me—and got it right. She answered all my random questions (and there were a lot haha) and made me feel totally at ease the whole time. The space at Bindle & Keep also feels more like a cozy friend’s apartment than a formal tailor shop, so the whole vibe was just really welcoming. Not only did I get my suit in plenty of time, but Ashley also made last-minute adjustments after I lost a little weight just to make sure it still fit perfectly. I got so many compliments on the suit, and for someone who doesn’t love being the center of attention, it made me feel confident and like myself—which is all I could really ask for. As someone in the LGBTQ+ community, it was really important to feel safe and comfortable during the whole process, and Bindle & Keep delivered on that in every way. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Ashley at Bindle & Keep is an absolute master of her craft! She perfectly brought my vision to life, creating a green velvet suit with a monochrome satin green lapel that was nothing short of stunning. It was the perfect choice for my wedding day, and I’ve never felt more confident or stylish. The full suit blew me away and gave me multiple style options! What truly sets Ashley apart is her impeccable attention to detail. During our consultation, she took the fabric over to a window where the light was streaming in and noted how the color would appear at the exact time of day my wedding ceremony was scheduled. That level of care and thoughtfulness blew me away. The craftsmanship of the suit is unmatched, and every detail was flawlessly executed. Ashley’s calm demeanor and clear passion for what she does made the entire process an absolute pleasure. If you’re looking for a tailor who will not only meet but exceed your expectations, Bindle & Keep is the one. Their work is timeless, elegant, and a true reflection of their skill and dedication. I can’t recommend them enough!

Google
I had a fantastic experience getting my wedding suit. I was measured by Ashley and she did a phenomenal job and everything turned out perfectly. The turnaround was quick. I gained a few extra pounds before my wedding, and there was 0 issue having an adjustment to the pants. Thank you!!!

Google
Bindle and Keep was phenomenal. I have NEVER worn such a properly fitting suit in my life...it was also the most expensive suit I've ever purchased, but the price tag was worth it for the wedding of my dreams. I am so happy I went with Bindle and Keep after looking at several companies that made custom fitted suits for women. They took every single detail I requested and brought it to life. A slightly texted dark grey that would look black in certain lighting, the patriotic firework lining, and date on the sleeve, and the list goes on and on. They can customize almost any aspect because this suit is made specifically for YOU. Not made for everyone and then tailored for you, which is how a lot of other companies work. I worked with them virtually through the pandemic, my wife took my measurements with their guidance during a video call. When my suit first came the jacket opened a little wider than I preferred, sent it back and they fixed it right up. During the second fitting they made sure I was completely happy with my purchase. I received SO MANY COMPLIMENTS the day of my wedding. I'm 4'11 and weight ~105 pounds...do you know how hard it is to find masculine fitting clothing when you're that small?! So I can't even begin to explain how much their attention to detail and perfection in their craft meant to me. I felt beyond confident in my suit, and I get to relive that feeling every time I look at our wedding photos. I have since bought other suits from cheaper companies that promise that "luxury custom-fitted" experience and it's just not the same...you get what you pay for. If you have an important event coming up in your life, please go with Bindle and Keep. They'll take good care of you and you'll have beautiful memories and pictures to cherish forever.

I worked with Bindle & Keep for my wedding suit, and it turned out fantastic! We did the initial fitting over Zoom, and the tailor I met with helped me walk through each and every detail of the suit super carefully. If I were to order another suit, I think it's definitely worth it to go to their in-person shop for the first fitting, as my partner and I messed up one measurement on the pants that ended up causing some fit problems. The store itself is super cool and the folks there are sweet and kind and helpful. They definitely understand that everyone is looking for something slightly different to fit their unique look, event, and personality.

I literally just left and had to write a review immediately. I had the most incredible experience. Daniel & Ashley were phenomenal. Kind, attentive and knowledgeable. There was absolute no rushing. Daniel sat and took his time explaining everything. Everything is personable. The vibe was calming and no pressure. I was accommodated for my every preference. I cannot wait to see the final product!

Google
I went to Bindle & Keep without much of a sense of what I wanted for my wedding suit, just some loosely connected ideas. I met with Ashley and she was exactly the guiding hand I needed to develop exactly what I wanted this suit to look like. From there, the process was smooth an easy. The environment is immaculate, the turnaround time was faster than promised, and the staff was patient and professional. The suit itself couldn't have been more perfect, and I owe that all to Ashley and her hard work.

Google
Bindle & Keep made the suits for our wedding. This was the first custom suit for both of us, and the experience was out of this world. The suits speak for themselves, but the service was exceptional. Everyone we interacted with during the initial fitting and the second fitting were so supportive and provided their expert opinions based on our individual styles. My wife and I wanted our suits to fit us in different ways, and the Bindle & Keep team really made it happen. We will definitely be back when it's time for another suit.

Yelp
My wife and I both had Bindle & Keep suits made for our wedding. The staff were a pleasure to work with, the remote fitting process was a bit challenging but they were accommodating when additional alterations would be done. We did have a bit of a shipping scare just prior to our wedding which could have been avoided, but Ashley went absolutely out of her way on her day off to track down our missing package, resulting in hand delivery of my wife's suit 24 hours before we left for our wedding. Our suits turned out beautifully; everyone was commenting on the quality and just how good they looked all throughout our wedding day. Definitely scared of the postal process between Brooklyn and Los Angeles now, but can't say we wouldn't do business with Bindle & Keep again in the future.

Yelp
When I needed a suit for my wedding I knew I had to go to Bindle & Keep. Every part of the process lived up to my expectations from when I first walked in the door, to my fitting, and my wedding day. The suit fit perfectly and needed no alterations which was amazing and almost unheard of! The suit I had custom made was everything I envisioned. Still receiving compliments on this one of a kind suit from Bindle & Keep! Cannot thank you enough!

Yelp
TL;DR Lack of accountability and gaslighting by owner that caused a body complex in a previously body confident person. Insufficient measurements taken during first fitting resulted in four rounds of alterations (including two remakes). Factory remade pants using the wrong fabrics. Did not have a fitting pair of tux pants until the weekend before my wedding, despite starting the process six months in advance. I am writing this review over two months after my wedding day. I waited this long to 1) protect my energy and happiness during this beautiful time of my life and 2) to ensure that I could deliver the facts as clearly as possible to help others avoid having the awful experience I did. Because Yelp reviews have a character limit of 4000, I have attached pictures that include the full story supporting my review. Bindle & Keep's made-to-measure process does not include sufficient measurements to service folks with proportions like mine (smaller waist, bigger butt, thick/muscular thighs). I have had made-to-measure clothes made elsewhere in the past, and to ensure the best fit, a greater number of measurements were taken. My thighs were not measured in the first fitting at Bindle & Keep, despite me emailing weeks in advance acknowledging the concern I had about their ability to accommodate my waist-to-butt-to-thigh proportion. The thigh measurement the owner, Daniel Friedmann, took during the 3rd fitting was taken while I was wearing tight pants that were compressing my legs. Also, no thigh measurement was taken while I was sitting down and therefore did not take into account how thighs expand while sitting. Instead of taking accountability for the limitations of his process, Daniel attempted to gaslight me into believing that somehow my thighs had each grown over 4" in circumference in five months months despite ample data proving that to be impossible (see attached photos for further detail). Since my experience with Bindle & Keep, I have taken time to read reviews from other recent customers (something I should have done before booking) and have seen the owner clapback and avoid accountability in a similar fashion that I experienced with him in person and via email. Knowing he will most likely attempt to gaslight my review as well, I will include these undeniable, documented facts: My weight fluctuated no more than 5.4lb (149.6-155lb) between September 2021 and April 2022. My body fat fluctuated no more than 1.4% (23.9%-25.4%) during the same period. My waist, hips and thigh measurements changed only 0.5in between September 2021 and April 2022. I have been wearing the same Size 28 jeans as I purchased the week before my first fitting in November for the last 8 months. I went so far as to consult with my primary care physician and a professional body builder and both confirmed that it would be a medical marvel for anyone, especially someone of my size and genetic disposition, to gain 4" of circumference in their thighs and hips even with extreme weightlifting routine and diet. To suggest that my thigh measured 25.5" in September, shrunk nearly 4" by the first fitting in November, then grew back 4" to 26" in April is simply asinine. For reference, I've included full details on my measurements, weight, bodyfat and workout habits in the photos. I will leave it up to the reader to discern whether they want to support a business owner who talks to his customers in this way. I encourage you to read other reviews on Google, Yelp and elsewhere, hear how others' issues have been handled, and take notice of how the owner responds to customers' criticisms.

Yelp
I had an incredible experience at Bindle & Keep when getting a suit for my wedding. Cody and Ashley were extremely communicative, affirming, and welcoming during my fittings and I loved the way the suit turned out! I really appreciated how they took time to explain how certain types of clothes would fit on my body and why, especially because I'd never done anything like this before and am generally uncomfortable talking about my body and clothes. I would recommend B&K always, and am just waiting for another excuse to get a new suit!

Yelp
Bindle & Keep hosts a beautiful space with knowledgeable employees who strive to provide a welcoming and informative experience for their customers. My sister is having a custom suit made for her wedding in June, and I accompanied her to the first measurement appointment. She wasn't sure what to expect for the first appointment, so I'll describe the process for anyone else who may be wondering! We were met by several staff members and had one employee who was assigned to us. Daniel was our guy - he was easy to work with, patient, and helpful. First, my sister presented a couple pictures of suits she likes, and Daniel commented on each picture, explaining designs and trends. With an idea of what she was looking for, we began exploring options. Swaths of cloth were brought out, with the goal of choosing the cloths for the interior and exterior of the suit. After these choices, Daniel went down a list of options for facets of the suit and spoke about the differences between options. Again, Daniel was very knowledgeable and great at explaining the choices, and why some people might choose one over the other. My sister was also able to try on a test suit to see what she thought about the color/fit prior to her actual customization. Finally, after making many choices about colors, designs, and materials, both Daniel and another employee took my sister's measurements (taken twice to ensure accuracy). The measurement process took about 20 minutes, and it seemed they were sure to be precise without being invasive. Overall, this was a positive experience for my sister and she is looking forward to coming back to try on her customized suit!

Yelp
I was tired of not being able to find a suit that fits the body that I have rather than the body that retail shops want me to have. I'm 5'1" and athletically built with high shoulders and few curves to speak of. Enter Bindle & Keep, which I heard about on the recommendation of a friend. I entered their artistically minimalist warehouse tailoring ship to meet my tailor. He was pleasant and conversational, giving me advice about fabrics - what colors work well during specific seasons or with which accessories and for which occasions. I came away with a Donegal Tweed style fabric in a light charcoal with little "pops" of color threaded through. This shop measures not only your basic chest-shoulders-inseam-waist. They also measure customers at different points in order to create a truly custom made product. The way in which this process is done is non-invasive and tasteful. In addition, although they tell you that it could take up to 12 weeks to create the suit, mine was ready in less than 8 weeks. The final product - a three-piece suit with a shirt - was ideal. And they keep your measurements in case you would like to purchase something else in the future. Although the final product is not cheap, my suit is of a high quality that I would expect from a bespoke shop. I give Bindle & Keep my highest recommendation.

Yelp
I got a suit for my wedding at Bindle and Keep and COULD NOT be happier. I got exactly the color and material that I wanted and it fit perfectly. Ashley was wonderful to work with and was so careful to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted.

Yelp
The team at Bindle & Keep is fully responsible for me looking and feeling fantastic on my wedding day! I worked with Daniel, who is absolutely wonderful and had great styling tips in addition to creating the perfect wedding tux for me. Derrick, who helped with scheduling, was so patient with me even during some bridal freak-outs. I always got extremely prompt responses about when the suit would be ready, and when we did go in for the first fitting, there was not a single alteration needed. As a lady-identified person who has a million and one troubles finding androgynous/masculine suits, Bindle & Keep was such a tremendous find! I am looking forward to many more B&K suits and shirts in my future.

Yelp
I came to B&K a little more than a year ago for a broad wardrobe refresh, buying several suits and shirts from them. I came to them on the recommendation of a friend, thinking that their queer-friendly atmosphere and general aesthetic would mesh well with what I was looking for. Unfortunately, apart from the initial consultation, they have let me down in virtually every respect. Problems spotted on the initial fittings were not adequately resolved, or even respectfully heard. Complaints about the finished product were handled unprofessionally. I got three suits cut from the same pattern, but they each fit differently; ditto for my several shirts. Showing the suits and shirts to other clothiers, they have been baffled by B&K's approach to human anatomy and spotted several ways in which B&K's tailoring simply failed to track my actual body's measurements. They were able to explain to me, for instance, why I couldn't seem to raise my arms through their full range of motion, while I was wearing B&K's shirts and suits. (B&K had blamed me for opting for a slim profile - pretty hurts, etc.) Now, a year on, despite taking care of these suits and shirts as appropriate (i.e., minimal dry cleaning, etc.), I have watched with a certain horror as they have come, simply, unraveled. One of the shirts has become completely unwearable, as the fabric of the sleeves appears to be disintegrating (not merely becoming detached from the rest of the shirt, which would be bad enough). Poor service, poor fit, poor quality. I *so* wanted to love this place and replace my entire wardrobe with their suits, shirts, and jackets. But every day I put some of their clothes on feels like a betrayal.

Yelp
I had expectation of buying 3-5 custom pieces from these folks after what I thought was careful research. The experience was not so great. While the owner is incredibly sweet, the entire process was incredibly disorganized for me from beginning to end. When I went for my initial fitting I had one tailor. I told her exactly what I wanted - something with their style, but with slightly longer sleeves and a little bit roomier in the bust. I also let her know I was interested in buying more pieces, but I wanted to start with just one (thank god I did!) I decided on a jacket and one custom made shirt. No one ever followed up with me - my original tailor had quit, so she was no longer there. Im not even sure who ended up working on my pieces, but when I finally tracked them down, they set me up with the owner. I told him I wasnt pleased with the fit, and he promised to make the edits I requested (after trying to convince me my way was WRONG) and when I returned for another fitting, the owner (who was now my tailor) wasn't even available and had apparently "went to the hospital" with back spasms in the early morning. My appointment was for the afternoon, but no one bothered to call me to tell me, so now I was meeting with yet a 3RD tailor. The last tailor was very nice, but he basically handed me my jacket and shirt which I tried on and they fit exactly the same way as they had before I had requested the edits. When I asked him if they had even done anything to my jacket to fix the fit issues, he got fully exasperated and told me that because the owner had called out for the day, he was overwhelmed with appointments and I would have to come back. He suggested that I take the jacket now and I got the impression that he was also about to quit. Because I was afraid that I would never even get the pieces I had paid for already, I took them and left. Until this day it bothers me every time I see it in the closet. This experience was very disappointing even though everyone was "nice" I would totally avoid this place if you want a custom experience. I have been to tailors many times before in my life - but these folks DONT LISTEN and there is very little that is custom feeling about the experience or the clothes in the end. The shirt does feel somewhat better than the jacket - but the buttons pucker at my bosom and the arms are just too short.

Yelp
My experience with Bindle & Keep was extremely positive. Daniel and Abby fit me for my first blazer and it came out absolutely smashing. Here's an account of my experience: - I made an appointment online and Derrick was extremely polite and quick at scheduling me in. - Daniel and Abby came to my house and walked me through the process. I've never done this before and was in dire need of a basic black blazer for my corporate job. As an androgynous person it was key I get a blazer that suits my body (no pun intended) and that didn't make me look Melanie Griffin in "Working Girl." They made me feel completely at ease with the process. - Daniel then took my measurements as Abby showed my girlfriend the plethora of fabrics. It meant a lot to me that they involved her and made it as if we were hanging out with friends. - After the fitting, it was on to selecting the fabric, lining, piping, monogram and more. The customization options are endless! - It then took 4-5 weeks for the blazer to be created. (Note: it usually doesn't take that long, they had to create my template since it was my first time.) - Daniel then came over for my final fitting and "Voila!" I had the perfect skinny black androgynous blazer. The blazer fit right out of the bag, no additional adjustments required. He then also walked me through all the special, customized touches - I felt like I was getting a new car! Needless to say, I'm very pleased and have worn my new custom blazer (dressed up and casual) numerous times in the past two weeks. It was pricey, but a very worth while investment. Every time I wear it to work, I get compliments galore. I already have another fitting for my next blazer scheduled... Thanks Bindle & Keep for making me feel so dapper.

Yelp
This company is working tirelessly to make high-quality cloth masks for people all around NYC especially those most vulnerable during the COVID-19 crisis. My mask just arrived in the mail for free and I am humbled by the selflessness of this brand and its employees. You are all a true inspiration and more people like you are needed in this world! Thank you again, I will be sure to be back for any clothing needs in the future!

Yelp
Got a suit from Bindle and Keep in the last year and the whole experience was terrible. It was initially good meeting with Ashley but then the whole thing went progressively downhill. First of all it took over 3 months to get the suit which as someone who has had multiple suits made is ridiculous. Daniel met me when I got the suit and he was dismissive about my concerns. Got it retailored after much "haggling" about how it should fit on MY body and it came back without much change to it. I can't tell if they just have bad tailors but I had to wear the suit to an event so I paid to have it tailored myself. My own tailor said he had never seen a suit made so badly before. The sad thing is that Daniel preys on the pink dollar by marketing to people who historically may not be aware that there are much better quality suits to be had out there. If this was my only suit I would be fooled, but as someone who has had several made by tailors who truly care about how it fits your body, and not just paying lip service to non-binary fits, I have to say go elsewhere.

Yelp
I actually had my suit made about a year ago but I recently took it out of my closet again and was quickly reminded how much I DISLIKE the suit that was made for me. I knew they werent going to get it right when at my FIRST fitting the suit was about 3 sizes too big (and I certainly didnt lose any weight between when I was measured and my first fitting). I knew it would need more alterations after the initial fitting but wowza this was way off! The style of suit was a whole miss after I thought I had explained my vision clearly. I know this place has 4.5 starts but do yourself a favor and find a place that has more than 80 5 star reviews in the last 7+ years, that way you know you wont be disappointed.

Yelp
Great experience overall. Months prior to my wedding I had begun to start looking for a suit. I knew that if I had bought one off the rack there would have to be a lot of alterations and I wouldn't feel 100% in it as I am a female and most of the time wearing men clothing something is always a bit off ( shoulders and hips most of the time ). So I actually found a lgbt suit shop downtown and I had tried to make an appt but it was like pulling teeth with the owner. So I stumbled upon bindle and keep on my internet search. Got the fitting schedule immediately and they helped me pick out every detail for the suit. Each staff member made be feel extremely comfortable getting this suit. And the day of the wedding I felt like a million bucks thanks to them.

Yelp
After a long and, at times, frustrating process, I ultimately looked and felt great in a two-piece suit and shirt Bindle & Keep made for my wedding day. It's an incredible experience to wear an outfit that has been made to fit you, and I was grateful for the work that went into the process. However, I want to share a bit about my experience with the company because it might not be for everyone. I should share that I'm pretty detail-oriented and that purchasing a custom suit was an extravagance for me, so my expectations were high. The Process: I received my suit about a year after my initial fitting, traveling from my home in Philly to New York for appointments and receiving my tailored order in the mail between fittings. Along the way, I was confirmed to work with Rae but was paired with Sheah instead. I had a scheduled follow-up appointment with Sheah but was met by Piotr instead. My original invoice included a mistake, which I inquired after via email, which led to a brusque phone call from Daniel. After measurements were taken to alter my original shirt, I was sent someone's else's shirt by accident. I really felt the need to advocate for myself throughout a process that was often confusing and disorganized. The People: Sheah is compassionate, patient, and worked hard on my behalf. I was so pleased by our working relationship and would recommend seeking her out if you choose to work with Bindle & Keep. That said, at my final fitting, I still wasn't fully pleased by the fit of my shirt. Sheah expressed that "we really need to move on" and offered me a discount coupon for a future purchase. Meeting with Piotr was a less pleasant experience for me. He often interrupted me and passed judgment on my choices; his expertise seemed more important than my requests for alterations. The Fit: My jacket and pants fit perfectly, but the shirt isn't quite right. The button placket near the waist is not reinforced by multiple layers of fabric (as is typical) due to the first round of alterations, and I was disappointed the shirt could not be remade due to this flaw. I ultimately was not able to wear the tie I'd planned to accompany my suit because the shirt collar was just too tight around my neck. On my pants, the buttons are loose enough to warrant a repair after three wears. I can't say I wouldn't work with Bindle & Keep again, given that they have the market cornered on formalwear that will fit my body. However, I'm hopeful that the company can continue to learn from customers whose experiences are less-than-positive to better fulfill their mission.

Yelp
Like many, my fiance and I cried through the documentary about Bindle & Keep and the work they do. Shortly after we got engaged, she scheduled an appointment with them to have a suit and shirt made for our wedding. After two trips to NYC from Washington, D.C. for consultation and tailoring, her clothes arrived in the mail. During her fitting, it was determined her shirt needed to be let out a little, it was instead taken in. It also had several small stains on it. She reached out to Bindle & Keep right away asking for help. She was first met with no response from Derek, and only after she eventually reached out directly to her tailor, Shay (twice), did Daniel respond (we're now about 2 weeks out from the wedding). The phrase 'I'm sorry this happened' or anything similar was never communicated. Rather, he first waived the stains off as not a big deal and debated with her that the shirt had been taken in on purpose following her fitting. Eventually, he agreed to refund the money for the shirt -- still no apology offered. Truly what's most upsetting is that she and I specifically sought out Bindle and Keep due to their professed caring for the LGBT community -- but the utter lack of response and acknowledgement we received we they were notified of problem was ridiculous. Unfortunately, we can not recommend others use this company.

Yelp
My wife and I both have multiple pieces from B&K and absolutey love them. They fit perfectly. We receive compliments each time we wear them. The people who work at B&K are kind, prompt, knowledgable, and helpful. I recommend getting a suit, shirt, or coat made from here as soon as possible. Piotr is amazing. He steered up towards beautiful fabrics and choices that make us both look our best. Thanks everyone at B&K!

Yelp
Sheah was amazing! Helped my fiancé feel comfortable while making sure that she got exactly what she wanted. She made sure that every detail down to the button and threading was unique to her. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable custom made suit.

Yelp
Had a disappointing and messy experience with custom-made shirts. I had gotten a suit and a shirt from Bindle & Keep that I liked before, so I was looking forward to the shirts, but the quality of the overseas factory (in Thailand?) that they work with seems to have gone down significantly. The shirts arrived after a very long wait of about three months. It was difficult to schedule appointments to come try on the shirts: all seasons seem to be the busy season (perhaps the shop is understaffed). When I did go it turned out that two of the shirts were the wrong fabric - completely different color and pattern! - so they had to be remade. The armholes on the ones that didn't need to be remade were cut in a very bizarre way, and the seams looked unprofessional. In-store alterations were somewhat but not completely helpful, and the employees seemed eager to dissuade me from asking for additional alternations. At some point I gave up as it didn't seem that alterations are going to be able to fix the armhole issue. In no step of the process was I offered any sort of refund or compensation. Given that the price is comparable to made-in-US custom shirts, I don't see a reason to use this service.

Yelp
Couldn't be happier with my experience. I don't fit in standards sizes very well, so I decided to give the B&K team a try after being referred by a friend. The staff was extremely thorough and professional as we created a suit that met my needs. I will return for my future suiting needs. Thanks again!

Yelp
This is my experience with B&K...I've tried to leave my opinion to the end and just present facts. I contacted the company and spoke with Daniel (owner) last December to set up an appt for my cousin's husband and I to be fitted for suits while they were visiting from DC. Mariusz, the sales associate, showed up at my appt on time and measured us each for one suit and a shirt. Initially, Daniel seemed pleasant while setting up the appt and Mariusz came across as very knowledgeable while taking our measurements. When Mariusz left, my cousin's husband and I were both confident and excited that we would be receiving a great product. We both chose the $850 fabric option as the cheaper options seemed rather cheap and of poor quality. Its also important to note Daniel promised us the Gilt/Groupon discount so the $850 price is for fabric that normally costs around $1250. Red Flags: 1. Mariusz showed up at my apt with a very nice cashmere blend blazer, when I asked him if that was made by B&K he replied NO. Why would the sales person show in a jacket NOT made by B&K? At the time, I thought it was odd, but I overlooked it because of how knowledgeable Mariusz seemed to be. 2. My suit was supposed to take 4-6 weeks, on the 6th week Mariusz told me he was sick and couldn't drop my suit off for another week or two. Not a huge deal, but I think this is something that should be communicated by someone in the company. I wouldn't have know anything unless I called. The Suit: 1. Quite honestly the worst product I have every seen. The pants for the suit was completely wrinkled as if he removed it from a box just before coming to my apt and no one bothered to iron it. I asked for side adjusters and the pants showed up with nothing at all on the waist; I was told the side adjusters would be added at a later time. Lastly, the pants were way too big and the fabric was itchy and felt coarse. The jacket was stiff and didn't fit me at all. It was 2 inches too short and was way too tight around the chest. The lining of the jacket pockets could be seen on the OUTSIDE of the pockets. That's right, the lining was longer than the actual pocket. When I complained about all this to Mariusz, his response was I should have chosen the Sherry & Holland fabric (over $2000). The outcome: Luckily, my 50% deposit was refunded after I sent an email complaining about the product to Daniel. Initially, I thought this was because of the money back guarantee that was posted on their website (this guarantee has since been removed). I was shocked to learn that I was refunded ONLY because the mis-cut jacket, being 2 inches too short, was indeed a factory mistake and it would be cheaper for them to simply refund me my money then remake the jacket. Furthermore, Daniel told me over the phone that he knew that my cousin's husband and I were likely "browsers" when he learned that my apt was in Harlem. My cousin's husband wasn't as lucky and did not receive a refund (long story but same feedback regarding quality/fit/presentation etc...) My opinion: Fellow suit shoppers, there are dozens of MTM/full custom options in NYC that actually value their customers and are eager to gain new ones; this company is NOT one of them. I work in finance and I have plenty of custom, MTM and off the rack suits so this is not my first rodeo. Its insulting for the owner of a company to make insinuations about where I live with respect to the value of my worth as a customer. It was disappointing that Daniel was never willing to take responsibility for the sub-par product that his company was delivering. Oh well, I ended up purchasing 6 suits from MySuit on Madison ave. for my wedding (incl. groomsmen) and for work.

Yelp
I have several complaints with Bindle & Keep, but I'll focus this review on the very simple reasons you should never use this service. 1) It is not the in-home service it advertises. The first measurements do take place at a location of your choosing. But then 5 weeks later a suit is dropped off at your place and it is up to you to bring it to a tailor for alterations. In my case, my suit fit very poorly, as did the two dress shirts. It was then my responsibility to carry these items from my Brooklyn home to a tailor's shop in the Lower East Side. For a company that claims "our tailors come to you," they absolutely do not. 2) Nobody takes pride in the final product. This is the biggest problem with their plan. When one person measures you, another drops off the suit, and then a completely separate company is responsible for the final alterations, there is no person invested in your satisfaction with the product. Everyone is just passing the problem onto the next person, with the Lower East Side tailor, who has plenty of other clients, left to clean up the mess. 3) Their satisfaction guarantee is a lie. After multiple missed appointments, late arrivals, a poorly fitting suit and two dress shirts that are still not done 3 months after the initial order, I requested a refund under their "100% customer satisfaction guarantee" and their stated policy of "we will refund our client's money if they are unhappy with our product." They simply won't. Finally, even if all the above weren't true, the suit isn't even nice. Daniel and his company don't know how to do a modern cut. I blame myself for assuming that when I asked for a trim and modern fit, they would know what I meant. Plus, because the suit fit me so poorly initially, it now just looks like a larger suit that was taken in.

Yelp
At 6'5" I'm not the easiest guy to fit for a suit. Even with "long" lengths, the proportions aren't quite right and require pretty substantial tailoring to get a decent fit. I've been to other NYC based MTM/custom clothiers with mixed results. Some nailed it out of the gate but delivered months later than promised. Others offer limited fabric selections, place you in the awkward position of paying 100% up front and all alteration costs out of pocket, or come back with garments that make you wonder if they even bothered to check them against your measurements. I had none of those issues with Bindle & Keep. They fit me on short notice for an upcoming wedding. Their measurements were comprehensive, they had a great selection of fabrics, and most importantly they had me in my suit exactly when they said they would. There were a few minor adjustments to get everything just right but but I can't complain - they had everything totally dialed in within two fittings and quick turnaround on the alterations. Thanks guys!

Yelp
I used Bindle & Keep for a suit, and it was okay but not great. They cut the sleeves too short in the first instance and then they just lengthened from the end rather than from the shoulder so the buttons are like halfway up my arm. Also, weirdly all of the buttons on my pants (the zipper as well as the pockets) got loose really quickly, like they weren't stitched that well. The lapel on the suit also doesn't fall that well, it kind of flops over. When I pointed these things out, they were pretty unapologetic and uninterested in fixing anything. The suit generally fits fine though, but Louis Purple is a much more high quality option for only a little more money.

Yelp
For all the doubters out there, this is the real deal! After deciding to upgrade my style, one of the key staples had to be a custom suit. I did weeks of research, including references from friends, and somehow felt compelled to try out Indochino. (This suit was not for work- it would be worn maybe twice a year, so it was hard to justify an exorbitant price elsewhere). On the day of my Indochino fitting, I decided not to do it. I wanted a personal touch, and Bindle & Keep somehow looked quaint. Despite the limited reviews, and somewhat vague ones on sites like Styleforum, my wife and I called up Daniel. I had so many questions after reading so many websites about custom suits: from fittings, materials, buttons, half vs full canvas, made to measure or bespoke, that I was sure he would be frustrated. Instead, Daniel was very patient and he walked us through the process. There's something comforting about speaking with the owner of a company. I didn't get the pleasure of meeting Daniel in person for my fitting, however my tailor was affable, and I'm sure reflected Daniel's spirit. He was quick, yet very efficient, and offered his opinion every time I asked. He even helped me pick the final color of the suit based on my criteria, which was perfect. My suit arrived with my tailor, and the fitting was almost perfect. We decided to lengthen the pants at the back by half an inch so it could drop better over my shoes, but that was it for alterations. My vest and jacket were perfect, as well as the overall fit of the pants. I truly see the difference in Custom suiting vs off the rack. I definitely found a company that I can grow my suit collection with. By the way, the hidden pocket is a gem!

Yelp
Mixed feelings about this company. Pros: Got a suit that fits well and looks good. One of my best suits, I often get compliments. They were very nice. They know what they are doing. Fair pricing. Cons: Slow process (suit takes a very long time), and so do alterations. Stressful and confusing to get in touch with the company - they are very slow at responding to emails, which I think is unacceptable for a company that is supposed to be providing a highly personal service. Very late to appointments more than once. I mean VERY late. Hours late. Do not have a showroom (they come to your house), which sounds great in theory, but I think actually contributes to their inefficiency and lateness.

Yelp
I don't normally write reviews, but after dealing with Daniel and his tailor I really felt compelled to. As you would expect, their materials are top quality and their fit and finish is impeccable. Their prices are also very reasonable considering what you're getting in return. What really put the experience over the top was their service. Start to finish, they were extraordinarily accommodating with my limited timetable (which I had my doubts about them meeting), but true to Daniel's word, they delivered just in time. You can tell that Daniel and his team are very dedicated to providing a wonderful client experience. Thanks again for everything and keep up the good work.

Yelp
I could not be more pleased with my Bindle and Keep suit. However, if you are not a patient and flexible person, B&K is probably not for you. A lot of the reviewers on this site seem not to understand how bespoke suiting works. Perhaps they're used to the convenience of off the rack suiting or they've only bought made-to-measure suits before: bespoke suiting is different from either of these options in that the entirety of the suit is designed by you and your tailor. This includes measurements to fit your body, yes, but also complete choice over fabric, lining, style, fit, small accents, number of pockets...I could go on. My first Bindle and Keep fitting was October 24. They had responded to my initial email right away although they had to move my appointment around by one day. Daniel, the owner, was selected as my tailor. The day of, they pushed my appointment back a bit, but they called me to let me know of the delay and it was not a problem for me as I worked from home that day. Daniel came to my apartment, spent about an hour with me figuring out what my style is like, showing me options, and making suggestions when I didn't know what I wanted. After he asked my budget he showed me all the fabrics that he had (my budget allowed me to purchase his highest price-point fabric-he told me that normally he doesn't even show it to people because he doesn't want to pressure them to go over-budget). He had patience with me as I hemmed and hawed over fabrics both for the suit and the lining, and he was excited about my choices. After we were finished, he charged me 50% as a down payment and told me to expect it in six weeks. Six weeks to the day, I called Bindle and Keep to ask if the suit would be in soon, and they told me they expected it in days and that they'd call back when it came in. Sure enough, it was in two days later and they scheduled with me for a fitting. I wanted a fitting with Daniel, who has been busy with the preparations for the B&K documentary Lena Dunham is making, so I had to wait a week. As it turned out, Daniel was called away on family business a couple days before my fitting so they sent someone else, but it only took a couple of days extra to schedule with the new tailor. The suit was brought over and alterations were noted for the jacket and the vest, but the pants had been mismade and required extra time for their tailor to completely remake them. I was disappointed as I expected this would take an extra 6 weeks, and they warned me that because it was holiday season (my fitting had been in late December) things might get slowed down. Despite this, the pants and alterations on my jacket and vest were finished by January 10 (11 weeks and one day after my initial fitting) and Daniel came by for a second fitting. It was completely perfect-fit for my body but still as masculine as I was hoping for, no more alterations needed for any of the items. Everyone was friendly and professional. And since my measurements have been saved, the next time I buy from the I'll save tons of time on the process. Can't wait.

Yelp
After buying a suit from them, nothing else will ever compare. So long, dreams of a Hugo Boss suit that cost 3x as much! Perfect fit. Snug but with a range of movement, never fearful of a tear or rip. I feel like a million bucks in my B&K. A whole lot of value for the price. I'd rather give these guys the extra for a suit I find excuses to wear than those Madison Avenue row folks who, for only a little bit less, give something I'm not excited to be seen in. Seriously, is there a more miserable experience than shopping the Joseph Bank flagship? Compare that with a fitting with Daniel who answers all questions, is happy to fill in the blanks in his customers' knowledge, and knows when to advise and when to push you to choose what makes you happy.

Yelp
Worst experience ever! I gave up the fight and left my full payment and suit behind with Bindle & Keep. Hopefully the suit went to a charitable cause. I experienced poor customer service; low quality of fabric that felt stiff and unlike the swatch initially chosen; a lack of attention to details on the finished merchandise, for example, the buttons on the pants were completely different from the buttons on the jacket, obviously no quality control, LOL; and a combative and unprofessional approach when dealing with ALL my concerns. Bindle & Keep did not stand behind their then, "100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee"...since removed from their website. After much back & forth and a stop payment on the garment that was in their possession, Bindle & Keep threatened to sue. I was insultingly referred to as a custom suit "browser", not sure if my Harlem location lead to that comment. Well, this "browser" has gotten 9 custom suits from another custom clothier in NYC since then, and was very happy! I have another 3 suits coming. Obviously, based on my personal experience, I would NOT recommend Bindle & Keep.

Yelp
Like 90% of the yelp-review-writing population I am an Asian female. Since this demographic statistic does not hold true for the general population (and it might not even hold for yelp since I totally made that up), it's really hard to find a suit that properly fits my 5'1" 100ish lb frame. Also, I'm picky. Really picky. Fortunately, Bindle & Keep is bespoke (not MTM as some others have said) so your options are essentially infinite. And they will make alterations until you're happy (even if you just want your pants shortened a quarter inch, or tapered another half-inch), all at no cost. If you're a sucker for details and construction -- hand-picked stitching, finished interior seams -- you will be happy. I've had one suit made, my boyfriend's had two, and I will never buy work pants off-the-rack again. True story. Daniel, get ready for September 'cause I am coming for a sweet new coat.

Yelp
I don't know much about fashion, let alone men's ware, so when I came to Bindle & Keep I kept asking my tailor (Adriana, then Daniel) "what do you think would look good?". Sort of a risky strategy given that this is my first experience ordering bespoke clothing, but after a long and informative discussion and about 10 weeks of waiting I'm SO happy with how my suit fits. I asked lots of questions throughout the process and while it's clear everyone really knows what they're taking about, I never felt annoying or condescended to. I'm local to Brooklyn so I can't speak to some of the other reviewers and their experience with shipping, but I found B&K to be very flexible. Initially I showed up a week before my actual appointment (my mistake) and Daniel took my measurements anyway to save me a trip back. I did check in via email after 10 weeks to see how the order was going, and we scheduled a fitting about a week after that. I had a really great experience, and I was surprised by how confident the clothes made me feel. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I ordered two business suits. The pants were not made to size. I cannot sit down in them. The styling is wholly inappropriate for business wear. The pants have very obvious pull lines. The owner Daniel insisted they were fine. He has no formal training in tailoring and it shows. He never fully remediated the situation. I managed to get material to remake the pants, but now I have to pay someone else to make them. I have had the good fortune to have custom made clothing before. This was by far the most unprofessional and incapable service I have had the misfortune to deal with. I would say if you get a good suit you are lucky, but there is a good chance you won't. If that happens then you are out of luck as they have zero interest in remediating. They are bad actors.

Yelp
I wanted to get a great gift for my boss this year, who I have to say is quite a picky guy! I knew that asking Daniel, the co-owner of Bindle and Keep, for a custom made suit would be a sure bet on getting something with high quality. I watched the whole process from the measurements, to the follow up phone calls, to needing any additional tailoring (which in the end wasn't needed at all!) The product was beautiful, up to date, and of beautiful quality! Bravo Daniel! thanks for making me look so good, and yeah, thanks for making my boss look good too!! Best, Jen

Yelp
Daniel of Bindle & Keep is the consummate tailor and businessman. As a woman who wanted a tailored suit with an experience that was both professional and pleasurable, I could not be more happy with Bindle & Keep. Beautiful material, great advice for someone buying their first suit, information on all the details and an overall wonderful experience. When the suit arrived and was in fact what I'd hoped for but needed some adjustments, Daniel discussed the changes with me, made the adjustments and mailed me my suit as ordered. He's made a return customer out of me. If you want a tailored suit, especially for women, look no further, Bindle & Keep. And check out the NY Times article on these guys.

Yelp
If i could give Bindle & Keep 100 stars I would! What a wonderful, happy and comfortable experience finding the perfect custom made suit for my wedding. Shae was absolutely amazing, I can not say enough kind words about her. I am so so over the moon happy with how everything went and all the amazing customization options I was able to choose from. I can not wait to see the final product and continue my experience with such a wonderful company/people.

Yelp
I've owned a few hand-me-down suits over the years but the moment I put on the beautiful fitted suit through bindle & keep i knew it was a different product entirely. its tough to explain but it made me feel grown up, badass, important, powerful, and dead sexy. honestly, upon delivery I was assuming that there would be something that needed tweaking, but it fit PERFECTLY. and by that i mean it wears perfectly, hangs where it should, sways just right, and...i swear people were looking at me differently the first time i walked down the street wearing it. that could be in part because i felt different. by the way, i'm a bit stretched so i'm not exactly an easy fit. cannot recommend these guys enough! customer service seems to be their top priority, as well as craftsmanship. never thought buying (and then strutting around in) a custom suit would be so much fun! can't wait to get another - something darker and thicker for the Boston winter. -James in Boston

Yelp
Bindle and Keep is the company you've been waiting for. As a woman who typically wears masculine clothing, shopping is always hard. B&K made all of my shopping fears and nightmares go away. The process was super great and easy. They took exact measurements and made me feel comfortable during the whole process. Their attention to detail is amazing. After the first measurements were taken I got to have my fitting in person. The fit was pretty good, only needing minor changes. The suggestions made were spot on. When I received my suit the 2nd time it fit like a charm! I couldn't be happier. Unlike a typical mens suit that pulls in all of the wrong places, B&K makes room for hips and curves. They put in secret darts that don't show on the outside but accodate a chest. The shoulders aren't too square, the pants don't gap in the back. They literally addressed every issue I've ever had with formal wear off the rack. The ill fitted suit is a thing of the past. I even got a vest! The craftsmanship is on point. The little details, the jacket lining, the pockets, it's all so well done. And the little flourishes make the suit- the ticket pocket, the cuff details, my embroidered initials, it's all so well made and looks so good. There is no better feeling than putting on a pair of pants tailored just for you. The fact that B&K could make a mens suit fit a curvy lady and look good is worth every penny. And now that the suit fits, I can easily order suit separates from here on out. I have recommended B&K to so many friends who cannot wait to look as fly as I do in my custom made, perfect fit suit.

Megan K.

Yelp
My experience with Bindle and Keep exceeded my expectations. Everyone I interacted with was very accommodating and helpful and made sure that I was able to go from having little idea what I wanted to having my custom suit in less than 3 months. I am not a fan of dress clothes, and so while the suit will be for special occasions, the button down shirt is a different story. It is not only is the best fitting shirt I have ever owned, but also the most comfortable. I will definitely go back to Bindle and Keep in the future and look forward to increasing my wardrobe to include a variety of comfortable, quality dress shirts.

Yelp
I'm going to break this review up into 2 parts because that's the very nature of getting a custom suit made. Also, I should note that I worked for several years in the financial industry. So needless to say, I've seen and worn a lot of suits. Part 1. The Fitting. Recently my roommate had a suit made by the guys at Bindle & Keep. While I didn't get to see the fitting I did see the final product. The suit from Bindle and Keep was beautiful. The fit, the fabric, the details...all were just spot on. When I asked him the cost I was shocked to find that a suit of that quality was within reason. I quickly set up a fitting. The fitting took place at my office and a time that was convenient for me. I hadn't expected that the customer service would also be custom tailored. Mario worked that tape measure for about an hour jotting down dimensions and asking me questions. Along the way we discussed the art of tailoring, good suits vs bad suits, fabrics, styles, trends, and so on. I laughed and learned. By the end of the process I had quite a little audience of jealous onlookers. One coworker was so impressed by the process that she has decided to give a custom Bindle & Keep suit to her husband. Who knew that a suit fitting would be so enjoyable. I can say unquestionably that Part 1 exceeded all my expectations and was a resounding success. Now....I'm anxiously awaiting Part 2. PART 2. THE SUIT ARRIVES. Admittedly this review should have been submitted sooner, however, I made the mistake of providing the wrong zip code. Daniel (owner of B&K) agreed with me that we should wait and see if the suit turned up. Unfortunately, the USPS never forwarded the package or returned it to the sender. No doubt, some lucky postal worker is wearing my beautifully made suit. So, in the end, Daniel and his team made me another suit (at his loss). The wait was worth it. I've owned quite a few suits (expensive ones at that) and I now realize that I have never owned a good one. In the past I've put on a suit hoping that it would fit close enough and that a tailor could make it work. But this suit experience was entirely different. The minute I put the Bindle & Keep suit on I knew it would only work for me and only me. Every cut, every stitch, every fabric choice was perfect. I can swear that I'll never buy an off the rack suit again. There is simply no comparison.

Yelp
Is not actually in park slope. Still haven't picked up my suit because their hours are very limited.

Yelp
DO NOT buy from this company. They are a rip Off ! I'll start from my first experience: Walking into the building was confusing and outright disgusting. It's in an old run down ware house with mice running around. I was in there and saw about 3 running around the room while we waited. While being there they had an enormous dog just hanging out getting his hair all over everyone expensive suits! I sat down and was presented a book full of fabric to pick from , little did I know I was looking at the most expensive fabric they offer. They never gave me an option to look at the other choices nor did I know there was any other choices ! They gave me a bill for over $800 for just pants and a vest! Not even with the jacket ! I said that was insane and then the guy said "well I can look at our lower cost fabrics". Thanks dude, wish you told me that from the start. I should have taken that as a sign to just walk out. I came back for a fitting and the suit was to big, so they had to make alterations. I then came back to try on the suit again and it was now to small. After coming back for the 4th the suit still didn't fit right. At this point I was just so annoyed I took it with me and went to another tailor. This place was such a rip off and they try and trick you into buying their most expensive stuff without knowing u have an option. With the amount of money and time I spent going back there I should of bought a plan ticket to Thailand , had my suit made for $100 and also had a vacation. Not to mention, they just send your measurements to Thailand that's why it takes so long for them to get it back to you. Save yourself time and money and avoid this place.

Yelp
Great service, great quality! Daniel and his team deliver excellent work, and I am looking forward to having my next pieces made. I am a tall guy and clothes off the rack never fit me. B&K gave me the first suit ever that truly works for my body. Just give yourself a little bit of extra time with the schedule. These guys are busy!

Yelp
Bindle & Keep makes custom suits. I was always impressed with every aspect of their operations. I had a very rigid deadline and they produced a gorgeous business suit with time to spare. They helped me with the design and choice of fabric. I practice medicine, and don't consider myself any kind of fashion plate; but I had an idea of what I wanted, and they gave me advice while allowing me the latitude to make my own choices. I like everyone there as people. I'll be a customer for life. You won't get better than this: superb service and a really nice product.

Bren G.

Yelp
Terrible experience. The short story is that I ordered 2 suits and a shirt for my wedding, with plenty of time, and they didn't deliver or took responsibility for it, and furthermore, they wasted lots of my time. The worst part if that the whole process was a series of successive errors, incompetence, and poor customer service. Below, the facts, and at the end, I'll give you alternatives for more reliable and cheaper places to get suits made in Asia (which is where this guys get their suits) for men and women. The first of my disappointments was about misrepresentation. I was under the impression that this was a queer business. LADIES BE WARE. This not a QUEER BUSINESS. Rachel, the queer face of the business,is not a real 'partner', as she cannot make any decisions. Everything has to go through Daniel, who has terrible customer service skills, and anger management issues. The second disappointment is that these suits are made in Thailand, same as Suit Supply or Indochino, but more expensive. They are not 'clothiers' as they call themselves. In fact, Rachel didn't even know how to pin pants' hems. I asked specifically if the suits could be done for a particular date, 9 days before my wedding. They said yes. A few days before the deadline, I asked when I could expect a fitting. Daniel sent me a harsh e-mail saying that they never agreed to have the suits ready for that day, that they would be ready for the day of the wedding. Custom made suits need a fitting and then adjustments. Help me help you, I asked. The suits arrived from Thailand 5 days before the wedding, yes! They were SO HUGE it was obvious they were not made for me... They were about 3 sizes too big. No problem, said Rachel, we will fix them. Great. Where's my shirt? I asked. Well, they forgot to order it. Instead of rushing the order, Daniel said that I 'should get a shirt at Uniqlo, 'It will be cheaper than if we make it'. WHAT? They offered to pay $100 towards a shirt (this after much back and forth, and they NEVER honored this promise). I had to go buy a shirt 3 days before the wedding and then find a tailor to fix it... Bindle and Keep wouldn't do it, not enough time. Are you kidding me? At that point I should have been first in line for alterations. One of the suits had a double vent, instead of a single vent... Ok, will deal with this later... Another mistake. At this point my whole family is in town, I'm planning a wedding, and I'm having to deal with this throughout. Rachel calls, their 'tailor' will fix my suits. Can I be at my house in 3 hours for a fitting? Sure, I left my family behind to meet them and work with their schedule... The 'tailor' didn't measure me, he just looked at me, grabbed the cloth, and took some notes. He said that the suits didn't fit because of my breasts, 'the breasts are the problem' he kept saying. It's a custom made suit, if I had an arm coming out of my forehead, they should make it fit. Also, I do not appreciate strange men coming into my house to talk about how my body is a problem. This is when I realized that there was gonna be a problem, as these people could not get it together. I asked for an itemized receipt - I had paid $900 cash for deposit (50%). I got an invoice for 20% more of what I agreed on, 2 months after original payment date. Rachel had forgotten to include a vest, so she gave me a new invoice charging for it. She forgot to take the missing shirt off. After she took it off, I had to ask her to take the shirt off BEFORE taxes... basic math. It took about 4 hours of back and forth to sort this out. She has to consult everything with Daniel, so it took a while. 2 days later, the suits are ready. After hours of email and phone coordination, Rachel tells me that they can come to my home at MIDNIGHT. After more back and forth, she agrees to meet me at my office on the day after. 3 days before my wedding now, and the suits don't fit, they are now too small. They agreed to a full refund. This is were customer service took a head dive. At this point I'm extremely angry. I have no suit for my wedding or for the reception. Instead of a real apology, or any kind of compensations, Daniel said on an email: 'Sorry the suits didn't fit to your liking, we certainly tried our best'. Is this a joke, I thought? The suits didn't fit to MY BODY. That's their best, be warned. I have a lot more complaints, from Daniel sending me sarcastic emails, to making everything the most inconvenient for me, I guess after he realized he wasn't gonna be making any money with me, he decided to just be mean. Ladies: Ludlow suit, J crew. Excellent quality, invest $100 on a real tailor, will fit like a glove. I bought one, fits better than anything B&K made. Guys: Same, or, Indochino or Suit Supply. The only difference is that you take your own measurements.
