"This Normal Heights gem has long been a go-to for its excellent selection of craft beers but it’s also a worthy stop for natural wine. Online as well as in-store, find an international array of natural wine producers including local labels like J.Brix and Charlie & Echo." - Jill Dehnert, Candice Woo

This store is awesome! It has a huge variety of wines

Google
Great bottle shop run by a great guy. Geoi has a lot of classic craftbeer selections along with a lot of the newest breweries too. He probably won't like me telling you that he has an account with Russian River brewing so if you were missing Blind Pig & Pliny like I was when I moved to San Diego, he's got your fix covered. Definitely check his shop out.

Google
Delicious white wine find at Bine and Vine. Geo’s(the owner) shared easy to digest info that helped my wife made a sound decision. Awesome wine and beer store in Normal Heights.

Google
Great selection, respectable prices, really friendly and knowledgeable staff

Winston Beck

Google
These guys are the best. Absolutely amazing selection up and down the price range. They're always happy to give you suggestions or answer any questions you have. It was the first place I bought wine when we moved to San Diego, and its the only place I buy to this day. Forget big wine stores and give these locals your business

Michael Lagueux

Google
They don't get much better than this! I've been coming here for years, and it's the only "beer store" that I go to. Everything is refrigerated, dates are carefully monitored to ensure that beers are fresh. There is also an excellent selection of Belgian beers of all styles. I love this place!

Steve D

Google
Great recommendations from this wine shop! I loved the selection here, not a ton of wine but what's there seemed to be really good. Came back for a second night after having a really great Bandol red wine and asked for an interesting Spanish wine and really loved the Mencia recommended. I wish this wine shop was in my home town!

Erik Rökaas

Google
Best wine and beer shop in town, run by the amazing and knowledgeable Geoi. Always a happy face greeting you when you walk through the door, and lots of expert guidance if you need it.

Yelp
Bine and Vine doesn't have a huge selection of beer and wine, but it definitely makes up for that in terms of the quality of what they do sell. If you are a connoisseur of either, you owe it to yourself to check out B&V. True story: my sister-in-law in Vermont was boasting about the fact that she was able to get La Vermontoise, a saison that she claimed was not available outside of her state. Oh, yeah? I went right to bineandwine.com and saw that they had it! Haw, haw! (It was pretty damned good, too!) No corporate crap here. B&V sells hand-selected offerings that they sample before putting on the shelves. They are very knowledgeable about what they have and they make good recommendations. Oh, wait. B&V is more than just beer and wine. They also sell cider, mead, sake, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and merch. When you want the best, visit B&V, a gem of Normal Heights.

Yelp
Came here at 9pm and closed. UPDATE YOUR STUFF!!! I took a $40 Uber to look at your lightbulbs hanging

Andrew S.

Yelp
A lot of places have a huge variety, but Bine & Vine has a huge variety of high quality and fresh beers. If you have discerning tastes, this is your spot.

Shelley M.

Yelp
My favorite wine store in town. Knowledgeable guys who run it are nice. I always like these wines best of any I get in town and I have tried them all. especially nice little Italian, French, and California wine sections. Glad we have them in San Diego.

AJ C.

Yelp
Bine & Vine Bottle Shop is the only place in SD that regularly carries CENTR sparkling CBD drink and doesn't unfairly price gouge. In fact, you can actually get a discount for buying in bulk. Be sure to ask for Joey. He's super helpful and a key reason on why I keep on returning. Thanks!

Vincent C.

Yelp
I really like this spot because they have mead which is kind of expensive. I've always seen this place but thought it was a wine store. So one day I decided to check it out and it's a nice little spot for beer, wine, sodas and sake. They also sell chocolate from Eclipse Chocolate Bar in South Park.

Trent N.

Yelp
Awesome, awesome beer selection. One of, if not the the best in the area. As a self titled beer connoisseur that's had the best from all over the country, I've been impressed with what they've been able to get on the shelves. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE, is I don't think I've ever drank a cold beer from this place. Don't plan on drinking right after you buy, unless you like lukewarm beer. If they could maybe turn up the fridges a little, that's an easy upgrade to 5 stars.

Yelp
I was looking through the photos on Yelp of Bine & Vine Bottle Shop to see what variety they had. In particular, I was looking for a French Pinot, and two bottles of drinkable Napa Cabs to give as gifts. From what I saw online I thought this would be the place, but it didn't really work out that way. Parking was a bit tough around this shop since it's located in the heart of Normal Heights, and across the street from Lestats. I was a little overwhelmed when I first entered the shop. So, I asked for help selecting a French Pinot. I don't know a lot about the varietal, because I've personally never been a fan, but again, this was a gift and I wanted to get my friend something she would like. With a little advice, that was much appreciated, I picked out a bottle. I then went to the back of the store to look for some Napa Cabs. Much to my dismay, the section had been really picked over and there wasn't much to choose from. There wasn't anything I recognized. I'm not a neophyte when it comes to Napa vineyards; I've been to a couple dozen. So, perhaps if you're a collector or looking for something obscure, this is your place. I just wanted a bottle of something like or similar to Franks Family, Duckhorn or Grgich. There were bottles under each of the displays and when I reached down to look through those I got scolded that those weren't available. Not sure if I'd be back. Hopefully this was just a one off any they typically have more variety. But honestly they lost out on the sale of two bottles of wine around the $75 price range/bottle by not having much on display and not letting me look through their other stock that was clearly visible on the shop floor.

Jazmin S.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite beer and wine shops in my neighborhood. I hate the parking situation but it's within walking distance so I guess it's alright. Whether I'm in the mood for beer or wine I always find something that I end up coming back for more. Whenever I come here with my husband I always end up leaving with a new beer or wine glass ;) Store is always on top notch shape. Super clean and organized as well as conveniently stocked. They also have some snacks to accompany your beverage of choice. I follow them on Instagram to stay updated on new beer releases for my husband. It is conveniently located next to Viva Pops so it's always a win-win situation! If you can't find what you are looking for ask for suggestions and I promise you will not regret it, it is also a great way to venture of to new things!

Mia L.

Yelp
Wow, I have yet to review this place and not sure why as this is my go to for craft beer and on occasions a nice bottle of wine. Joey the owner is great with recommendations. I yet to be let down by the beers he has recommended or the wines as well. Great selection and can't go wrong to find good craft beer from $7 to some awesome barrel age choices at a higher price. This is definitely the place to go to if you want to try something different beers from different areas. Yes even beers from Portland. I love that they have a good selection of Black IPA and Brown Ales. Most places don't even know what that is hahah. Definitely can't go wrong...Love this place

Karen G.

Yelp
Thank you Bine and Vine! Their online ordering and curb side pick up options are the best for the times. They have a huge selection and there is nothing better than supporting our local businesses!

Frank D.

Yelp
Joe is the best! Talk to Joe, he really cares and understands. He knows all of his inventory, from the most inexpensive and delightful beer to the most exquisite Champagne imported from France - He really knows his stuff! I primarily purchase wine but Joe has assisted me from the plains of South Africa to the Valley of Napa, he knows his stuff. I once was able to order a special bottle here for a region that was not particularly known for sparkling (Chile), it arrived in less than a week. If you are looking for something out of the box or you feel is unattainable, i suggest you bring it to his attention. The staff here will find you what you like, excellent shop in Normal Heights.

Monique J.

Yelp
They have a wide variety of wines and beers! Manager was very helpful in finding me a white port which I appreciated. I called looking for a specific one but he let me know they didn't carry it but had something similar and it was a better price. Not to mention ALL of their prices are reasonable and nothing is over priced. They have good parking as well.

Nicholas N.

Yelp
Liquor stores in San Diego within a 3 mile radius of this place can be so dang grimy with questionable people hanging in front - making the trip to buy some booze scary! This liquor store is not so shady, clean, and has so many beers, including Russian River beers!

Ness M.

Yelp
I love this bottle shop, I really do. I like that it's on Adams Avenue for one. They have a wide variety of brews to select from. There's tons of wines as well which I'm not into but if that's your thang then you'd like it here too. It's pretty dope that they carry beer glasses and they're all super cool! I'd honestly love to just build a collection of the glasses they sell because they're just that legit. So if you're wondering: Where the heck can I buy some saké?! Bine and Vine homie! I am so impressed by their selection of saké. They have an array of brands and some you can heat and others are the cold milky kind. I feel like it's a goldmine of saké. My personal favorite is a big bottle called "g" and it says "joy" underneath. It's so bomb, smooth and rice flavored but gets the job done. You can shoot it straight or heat it. So the only reason I'm giving four stars and not five is because I went in today and they no longer carry Ballast Point. I was thirsty for some grapefruit sculpin and watermelon dorado. But most importantly, I was trying to see if they carried that new Ballast Point Barmy. I was disappointed and ended up resorting to Von's which carries BP. Bummer!!!

Borneo G.

Yelp
This place has a great selection of beers, wines, and spirits. I came here because I was looking for a wine that isn't typically sold in your regular Von's or Rite Aid. Not only did I find it here, but I found other rare gems I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else (unless I went out of town or went to a specialized shop). The prices are fairly reasonable for what they have and the bottles my roommate and I bought were deliciousness. They also have a limited selection of soft drinks and kombucha if you don't drink. Also they have local brews and snacks. The guy who rang us up was nice and wasn't shy to give us his opinions on which wines we should get. I found a drink here that was sold at a different liquor store and it was way cheaper here. I kinda kick myself for paying a higher price, but oh well, lesson learned. I'll make sure I come here more often. ;)

Yelp
Love Bine & Vine- the place has such a great selection and makes suggestions, if you know what you like and can describe it enough. My thing is a great grapefruit IPA [hooked on Mike Hess's Grapefruit Solis] The owners are nice and you can take from six packs. Everything is stocked respective to the style, whether it's wine from different countries like Australia or a particular type of Sake, Sour beer etc. The parking can be a bit difficult in the area - but it's worthwhile to circle the block and shop here. Bine and Vine to find a special gift. They have a decent selection of glassware and shot glasses.

C. Jay O.

Yelp
This is my favorite bottle shop in the city. They have the best selection of craft beer from all over the country/world. I really like their wine too. Make sure to ask for anything special from the back... they keep all their whales back there and hardly ever bring them out.

Wilson A.

Yelp
We found this place not only to check it out, but we were also searching for a selection of hard ciders. We were helped with a pleasantly surprising knowledge of ciders. It's safe to say that they have an impressive background on their inventory, which obviously goes beyond hard cider. This place is very accommodating, even towards all the connoisseurs of any beer, wine, sake, and mead. I suppose people can consider this place a hidden gem, but I wouldn't consider it "hidden", as it's easy to spot at the intersection. Not sure if this is a place you'd shop if you just wanted to get drunk. But then again, I'm not sure exactly what clientele frequents this place since my girlfriend and I shopped there at an off- peak time with no other patrons there. Nevertheless, the selection here is vast. They know what they're doing, and it shows. It goes above and beyond expectation. And also, my girlfriend happened to recognize a bottle of wine we remember having at a nice restaurant in LA that featured many great and uncommon wines. Who knew that "Force of Nature" would make its way down to San Diego? And since Bine & Vine has it, they get much more notoriety in my opinion. I'd definitely come back, especially if I want a local establishment that has what I need for reasonable prices.

Hugh L.

Yelp
If you love beer, this is a great place to visit! I just found out about this bottle shop a couple weeks ago. I has made the list of the best places to visit on my free time. Bine and Vine does a good job of curating a good selection of beer from all over the globe. They also keep a good stock of great local beers. The staff is very helpful in getting you informed about the story of each beer and upcoming brews. They really enjoy talking to their customers, and you will have a great time talking to any of the staff there. They have gained a loyal customer from me!!!

Denna V.

Yelp
Finally writing a review for this place. I used to live around the corner from here, so my husband and I used to come very often. Now we get their emails and I think he follows them on social media, but we still come because they have the most updated beer and wine list in town. On top of that, the customer service is awesome. They also carry glasses if you love collecting them like I do. Definitely recommend this place if you love beer and wine. perfect for all couples.

DaFood C.

Yelp
Quite unimpressive. Bottle Shops in San Diego tend to be overpriced with limited inventory; this is no exception.

Heather T.

Yelp
Love this place !!!! It's a good Size and the selection is great!! Prices are are on the higher side of average but worth it to find all kinds of good beer in one place. The inside is very clean and modern.

David S.

Yelp
Sometimes they have some good stuff but it's usually picked out. Staff lacks any real customer service, can't even get a reply when I say hey how's it going? The one guy especially is a douche. Stopped coming cuz of extremely poor service and too many trips leaving empty handed cuz they are always sold out.

jonathan L.

Yelp
Had to correct my review. This place is cool once you step inside and look at the selection. Actually a really nice thing about this place is that once a really popular item comes in the owner doesnt blast it on TapHunter so youre not fighting a bunch of people to get one bottle "of that stuff" The owner is very knowledgeable and straight up, no BS kind of guy. If he doesnt have what you want in stock he has no problem telling you why or where to get it. Try to support a small business like this one before going straight to Costco or Vons down the street Parking sucks bad, not the businesses fault, but damn.

Jackie G.

Yelp
It was love at first sight. The kind you hear about in fairytales. I wanted to pick up several bottles, hold them and tell them I love them. But I refrained. Probably wouldn't be a good idea of for me to offer babysitting either. Seriously, great wine selection. I found some I haven't seen since I lived in Italy. They made my heart happy. Great customer service. Clean store front. Happy people inside. Oh - they have craft beer too for those that haven't fallen in love with wine yet. I will for sure be back!

Lilly S.

Yelp
All of the beer here is stored well and at appropriate temperatures (all IPA's are fresh and stored inside of a cooler). The place is clean and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. Geoi doesn't set coveted beers aside for "special clientele" like other bottle shops do. Prices and bottle limits are extremely fair and allow everyone a chance to buy coveted beers. If bine and vine is reading this, please do another anniversary collab with Alpine. Pretty please.

Jessica W.

Yelp
I love love love love love this place! They have a great selection of (mostly local) beer, and very very knowledgeable help. I have only ever encountered two different people working, and I believe they are both owners. They know WAY MORE about beer than I ever even want to know myself (that's what I have them for, right?). Anytime a beer-loving friend ages, this is my go-to place for their gift. All I have to do is find out what type of beer they like (or maybe an example or two of their favs) and come in and ask the owner to help me pick out something for said friend, and it's a hit every time. Many-a-time I have come here and done this, to have the recipient of the beer tell me it's the best *beer-of-that-certain-type* they've ever tried and want to know where I found it. Of course it's even easier to shop for myself because I know exactly what I do and don't like, and these guys have been able to turn me on to new breweries that I like from time to time. The wine selection is also nice, and always rotating. It would be impossible to get a one-of-everything selection fit into this size of business, so you can't go in looking for one specific thing and expect them to have it. They do, however, usually have at least one of my favorites on hand. I like that it's always changing because it encourages me to try new varietals rather than going with the safe staples. Honorable mention for the awesome wine-cork window displays (of which an embarrassingly large portion came from bottles of wine I drank. But it's fun to walk by and try to find them mixed in there. haha!) Love this place, it's such a perfect addition to our quaint little neighborhood, and am so happy that it has stuck around.... I hope it continues to do so.

Sarah O.

Yelp
Always an awesome mix of local and out of town options. Beer and wine stored in probably the most ideal of conditions in town. We have never been even mildly dissatisfied with our experience or their recommendations.

Nelce S.

Yelp
Always good selection of wines running the whole gamut for price. Staff very helpful to pick and recommend wines depending on preference. Even non wine selections are awesome ! This is a perfect place to stop by for any beverage.

Jonelle O.

Yelp
My husband and I are big craft beer fans and were enjoying an afternoon coffee across the street at Lestat's when we spotted this cute little store and decided to drop in and see what they had to offer. We pretty exclusively shop for craft beer at either our local liquor store (Helix Liquor!!!) or BevMo, but we wanted to see what was available in Bine and Vine. We were very impressed with their selection as well as their prices, which seemed to match what we pay at both Helix and BevMo. They also have a great selection of single bottles, which is a favorite of mine. I love building my own six pack because one of my favorite things about craft beer is having the opportunity to experience so many different blends and brews. As we were looking over the beer, the kindly owner came over and said he'd give us 10% off each bottle if we built our own six pack. SOLD! We picked out our bottles and $14 later we happily walked out the front door. This place is definitely worth a stop if you're into craft beer (domestic or imported). They also had what looked like a nice selection of wine, very beautifully displayed I should add. Note: They are dog friendly as long as you keep your dog on a leash.

Carmen V.

Yelp
I love everything about this shop - impeccable taste and unique bottles. They have an amazing selection of wine and beer. I used to live just up the street (but moved) and will now drive out of my way for their recommendations, and to pick up my favorite bottle of Domaine Cremant Rose. They truly have great taste - they even carried a salsa brand that I loved before most stores!

Alyssa W.

Yelp
Awesome selection! Everytime I come to the shop, I know I can pick a bottle of wine and feel confident it will be good. And, they always have specials, so you can find some affordable options. The beer selection is great too! The staff is very friendly and will offer suggestions, if you're looking for something in particular. Love this place... and it conveniently located close to home. I'm there way too much!

Anthony B.

Yelp
I heard of this bottle shop on a recently discovered podcast, San Diego BeerTalk Radio. The guy seemed knowledgeable and into the local craft beer scene, so in my search for a beer that I will not name, I dropped in to see if they had the illusive goodness, they did. You can tell by the layout that they are passionate about what they do, 95% of the beer is in cellars with no light :). Can't wait until I have some time to kill so I can go in and chat with these guys. If the six pack sample deal is still going on, that will be a regular occurrence until I have had it all. I love the sd beer scene, we are lucky to beer apart of it.

Alex O.

Yelp
Good craft beer selection but, seems like they have the same stuff as everyone else selling craft beer. My complaint is the guys working at the register. They are not very friendly or helpful. They act like you're there for them. Not sure if I'll be back

Scott K.

Yelp
Went in for to buy a case a wine. The cashier assumed we only needed the bathroom and acted like a jackass. Will never go back due to poor service.

Mike G.

Yelp
Stopped in to ask a few questions about a Napa Valley Merlot my family is a huge fan of. The gentleman that helped me was extremely knowledgeable and more than happy to educate me.

Wes C.

Yelp
It's not a liquor store...it's a craft beer and wine heaven! Put your so-called "dark beer" down and check this spot out. And if you go in there thinking you know a lot about beer, just strike up a conversation with the owner and you'll probably leave knowing just a little bit more. He can recommend the perfect beers for either the right mood you're in, a celebratory occasion, a gift (he can even ship beer for you), something seasonal, or for meal pairings etc. And it helps that he understands how each is made and that he gets to try almost all of 'em I believe! In here I consider my love of craft beer to be a hobby not a habit. Going in there and always getting the same great beer just takes the fun out of things, so if you always go in there looking for your favorite IPA then you should at least also try something new every time. The coolers are easy to navigate and they just had more installed and have separated them by region and style. In a place like Bevmo I get lost and it feels impersonal, but here in this little place, I get lost in a whole different way, I get lost in my thoughts about what beer to try next. There are so many choices and the labels and descriptions on each beer is enough to keep you in there for well over 20minutes. Imagine that! 20 minutes to try and pick the perfect beer...I can think of nothing better to do with 20 minutes of my day except perhaps consuming said selection. You just feel comfortable picking out a brew when even customers in the store will talk to you about a recent beer they may have tried. And hey if Beer isn't your thing they've got a growing wine selection too! This is the heart of Normal Heights, there's a lot to do here, a lot of cool shops and restaurants and while there are also places along Adams Avenue to grab a sixer of some craft beer, I'm pretty sure none are quite as unique as the Bine and Vine and they continue to grow. I've been to the other places on this street...I've talked to the owners and have seen their selections but there's stuff here I haven't seen anywhere else.

Mac D.

Yelp
Bine in vine is our go to fine wine store. We can't find a better selection of beer and wine. The owner and staff are knowledgable, easy going, and care about their customers. Two thumbs up!

Jenn C.

Yelp
WOW! Not only do they have one of the best beer selections I've seen, but the wine is spectacular... They have only great wine and Stephen's knowledge is exceptional, as is his taste. I have yet to disappoint at a dinner party. Thanks gor opening up there guys...

Annie N.

Yelp
They opened not too long ago and already, the place is packed with so many craft brews and interesting wines. The owner, Joey, is truly passionate about good beer and wine and is more than happy to help you pick out something you'll love for any occassion. I strolled through to grab something for the night and he was on-hand to give suggestions and was just a very warm, knowledgable person-- not the typical face you find when walking into a liquor store. They're going to be remodeling soon and I hope the layout becomes a little less maze-like to navigate, but until then, already a damned well-deserved 4 stars.

Roy M.

Yelp
Bine & Vine is the kind of store you walk into with $50, and walk out carrying a delicious array of beers suitable for a beer tasting at a large gathering. Or to put it another way - the store appears to be a beer store by beer geeks, for beer geeks. The proprietors are quite knowledgeable - I once walked in and asked what beers they had that were "Aged in barrels other than Bourbon," to which the owner paused, blinked, and then proceeded to show me the very small list of beers in his inventory that fit that really random criteria (there were 3 as I recall, all outstanding). I contrast this with asking a stocker at BevMo if he knew what beers they had that were made with Brettanomyces, to which the the response was "*deer in headlights* I don't even know what that is" They also carry a very nice array of varieties. If it takes you a long time to find 6 beers that float your fancy, it is because you are attempting to limit yourself to 6 beers, not because you are unable to find more than 4. Were there to be one complaint, it might be that their prices are not the absolute cheapest for the beer, but I consider the variety and the quality of the knowledge worth the small markup on the selection.

Rony F.

Yelp
Wow what a gem man this place is all round great... Bine and vine has what u need great craft beer selection and the staff is very smart about the product they sell If your ever on adams stop by here and get your fix Cheers

Zildheam D.

Yelp
Nice local place with an excellent wine, beer and local chocolate selection. It is nice and clean and they seem to be opened late and seven days a week. The only reason i rate three stars is because i think the service can be a bit friendlier and maybe a bit more personable. Definetly a great location if you are looking for cool beer and nice wine, we are very fortuante to have them in the neighborhood. I got my hands on the limited edition GOT beer and was turned off by the fact that my friend who walked in with me couldnt buy one for himself, it is one per group (lame). FYI - this is now also sold at wholefoods and you can buy as many as you want.

George T.

Yelp
So happy to have these guys back up and running, and in a location that is central to the city, and close to my home. They always have great selection, great prices. They take the time to get to know what you're looking for, and I have never had a bad recommendation in the many years that they have been selling me beer (and now wine). In fact, Joey will give you his honest opinion if he thinks you may not like the beer. He is a true lover of what he does, and he represents the culture well. As of this review, they were just getting things up and running, and they are already so well stocked, that it is hard to go anywhere else.

Adam T.

Yelp
I just checked this place out the other day as I was walking through the neighborhood. I didn't know it existed and it appears that it hasn't been yelped that much. This place has a top notch assortment of craft beers. They probably have 20 fridges full of stuff plus a bunch of shelves as well. They have very comparable prices and some pretty rare stuff. They had The Bruery's 4 Calling Birds, RR Supplication, Lost Abbey Deliverance, Red Poppy, etc. They have a lot of craft brew cans and 12oz. bottles as well. If you are in the area you gotta check it out. I think they also do wine, but I don't know nutttin' bout no grapes.

Kelsey W.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in tonight after a long walk to get a soda. They carry an interesting selection- right now I'm drinking a ginger ale with pomegranate and hibiscus! It's delicious. Usually, though, we come here for beer! We've been coming to Bine & Vine since Geoi bought it a few years ago. We've shopped for good beer here so many times he eventually gave us a Bine & Vine tote bag, lol! I actually use it, too! The selection of beer is amazing, I like browsing since Geoi is always updating the stock. When my friend went gluten free, I came here for a good selection of ciders. We also occasionally get some beer glasses as gifts for friends or locally made chips and salsa to munch on with our beverages. What else can I say, I love this neighborhood, and it's all the better for having Bine & Vine in it!

Yelp
Epic beer selection. Lots of variety and lots to choose from.. Love the expansion and remodeled floors!! Great place to find that hard to find or rare beer.. Sours, Belgians and meads oh my!

Yelp
Reminds me of Oz's Bottle Shop from the 1970's. Great knowledge and selection vs display space.

Yelp
I've been to their old location in Imperial Beach many years ago. And subsequently been to this location 3 more times. Joey is a great guy, his dad is awesome too. They always get the latest items. Also you can tell Joey handpicked all his selections so there's nothing but quality here.
