The 38 Essential Restaurants in Phoenix

"A night at Binkley’s is like no other dining experience in town. Unfolding in a small house with the laid-back vibe of a dinner party, the 10- to 12-course prix fixe meal — a heart-stopping run of perfectly executed, beautifully plated courses made with luxurious ingredients ($265 per person) — begins at the bar, where clever cocktails and pub food are dispensed, then moves outside to the terrace (weather permitting), and finally into the cozy dining room overlooking the exhibition kitchen. From this vantage, diners can watch Binkley do his thing or even wander into the kitchen to chat him up. Wine pairings are an additional $200 per person, while wagyu, caviar, and foie gras bumps range from $45-$126." - Nikki Buchanan, Chris Malloy

9 Phoenix Restaurants Serving Splurge-Worthy Meals

"With help from general manager Christian Giles, husband-and-wife team Kevin and Amy Binkley do the heavy lifting themselves at their charming restaurant, housed in a bungalow fronted by Amy’s flower and vegetable garden. With its three-man crew and only 20 seats in the dining room, the experience is both intimate and reminiscent of theater as Binkley prepares and plates each dish in full view of his guests. More importantly, Binkley’s modern American food is stunning — a wildly creative mix of seasonal dishes, each as beautiful as it is delicious. Imagine a summer menu rendering tomatoes in every conceivable fashion, or a winter menu glorifying truffles in the form of whipped potatoes, black truffle gnocchi, and white and black truffle potato-leek soup. The $240 per person prix fixe menu generally runs to about 12 courses and the meal takes just under three hours to complete. Add-ons abound, including wagyu beef, Osetra caviar, and foie gras, while wine pairings cost an additional $200 per person." - Nikki Buchanan

This is my favorite restaurant in the world. More than any of the Michelin three stars I've been to. Some of the best meals ever and best overall experiences have been here. It's like eating at a friends home, from start to finish. Brinkley's knows how to put a creative twist on comfort food, always have new innovative dishes, and always source the best ingredients. The staff is always excellent and makes the experience that much more special. We especially like Christian and will miss him. The restaurant is closing so Chef Binkley and Amy can take a well-deserved rest and move on. They deserve it, but the Phoenix dining scene and the culinary word in general will be darker

Google
I’ve had dozens of Michelin rated meals and countless fine dining experiences, but Binkley’s has remained my favorite dining experience above all others. Chef Binkley and his wife offer not just amazing food, but a warm hospitality you won’t receive anywhere else. Their passion for cuisine shines through every dish and every story told. I truly couldn’t recommend the experience more.

Google
First off, I would like to say I have never quite had a dining experience like this! This is such an amazing place and the experience leaves you on the edge of your seat as they bring out 12 different courses, meaning you have over 32 bites and drinks of the most amazing food ever. The flavors and mixtures of different foods and the infusions of all things edible is simply indescribable. The experience lasts somewhere around 3 hours and the time flies as they keep amazing you with each new bite. The portions are just right. You will not leave feeling bloated and stuffed busting out of your pants. However, you will feel like you just experienced food like never before put together in the most mind blowing manner. Just simply amazingly. They have a preset menu and you are at their mercy, not one disappointment came from this team of food geniuses! My wife and I can not wait to go back. I Highly recommend this experience to anyone who appreciates different food and big twists with flavor like you have never had. kudos to all of the Binkley team. You guys really make magic happen in your kitchen!

Google
Had an absolutely amazing time last night at Binkley's. The food, atmosphere, and staff were all phenomenal. Obviously, people may shy away because of the price, but if you are able you should definitely try it. You're paying for the entire experience, which was fantastic from beginning to end. We were worried we might not get full because the plates seemed so tiny, but you get so much food throughout the meal that it adds up and you feel completely satisfied by the end of that experience. Also, my friends and I were worried at first about the place being too pretentious and us being underdressed but it was so homey and inviting. Business causal was just fine. We got to relax, laugh, be loud, and enjoy amazing food in a secluded dining area. Highly recommend! We will definitely be going back to check out the new menus throughout the year.

Google
This is the best restaurant in Arizona. I've eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants all over the world, and this ranks among the best. Exceptionally creative food that always tastes amazing. This is not a restaurant to go for weekly family night out, but it is perfect for any special occasion, or just having a mind blowing gustatory experience. Lots of small bites, and all so good you will not be able to pick one favorite.

Robert Fisher

Google
What a phenomenal food experience. Creative food presented in a way probably never seen. However, the entire staff makes the food approachable, never being pretentious. If you love food and the culinary arts, this is one place you MUST experience. Being in the industry, I generally don't review local restaurants, but to call Binkley's a restaurant is akin to calling a Bugatti just a car. Both are works of art. If you can, experience what can be done with food in the hands of a master.

Google
My experience was amazing. What I loved the most was the service and attention to detail. I would get my chair pushed in every time I would come back to sit down. My napkin was folded while I was gone. They had a cute little stool to place my purse on. Many more other little details that would take forever to talk about. The dishes were unique and presented very well. I did pre-book the standard wine pairing with my reservation. I would suggest on getting this pairing if you are into trying a few different types of wines. I am more of a red wine girl so if I were to go again I would be ok with not reserving the wine pairing ($150 per person). I say this because you get water plus a welcome craft cocktail and you are able to order a bottle of wine A la carte. I think that would work out best for me next time. From the wine pairings there was a Rose, a white wine, one red and a dessert wine. All very good but my preference is to stick to Cabernet Sauvignons. You need to be open to new things and be an adventurous eater to appreciate this kind of experience.

Google
Binkley's is one of the most unique restaurants around. The dining experience is nothing like you have in a regular sit down. You move around in the repurposed home and will experience some tasty food with stellar service. The staff and chef are absolutely fantastic. I love this place and we have an amazing time when ever we go!

Yelp
AMAZING!!!! Best meal of my life. So glad I made it before Chef Binkley moved on. Little back story, I've wanted to do this since like 2008 when I had a jello shot from Chef Binkley AZ Cocktail Week, just didn't make it, moved to Europe, came back because it winds up I have Multiple Sclerosis and this year was my 40th birthday, and age I never wanted to turn so the original plan was for me to go to Alinea in Chicago for my 40th birthday, that clearly wasn't possible with my health issues, then Chef Binkley announced the closure, so we booked THE BEST MEAL OF MY LIFE every single bite of it. It was every bit as special as intended and to be treated like royalty without them even knowing the whole back story is a testament to a Chef and staff who really care about creating magical experiences for every guest. Because the staff is staying I would recommend checking it out when Chef Stephen Jones takes over as the staff is excellent.

Yelp
What a truly delightful event every time we have dinner at Binkley's! Kevin, Amy and the team really have it dialed in, every bite and drink is a memorable experience. The Binkley's open up their kitchen and dining room like your a guest in their home! The stories of their travels and where they are sourcing each morsel and bottle is educational and exquisite. Service, food and drink are truly a magical experience! Thank you for sharing your culinary journeys with us, and making each experience special. We look forward to joining you again soon! : )

Yelp
I ate at the original Binkley's on the north end of Scottsdale more than 14 years ago and it still is mind blowing and so is the bill. great selection of wines service is impeccable. You literally have 30 different bites among an 11 course tasting meal. I don't know how kevin even executes. This is quite spectacular. He should probably be in the Guinness book of records.. Make sure you don't eat the entire day prior to coming to this restaurant. The selection of wines were really good as well..

Yelp
Another fabulous experience. Kevin Amy Cristian and the entire staff are so on point. Fois gras and waygu beef were amazing. We are sorry to see you move on, but know that you have produced something wonderful.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful experience at Binkley's recently. I won't go into the details about the dishes themselves because they have a rotating menu, so this review will mainly be regarding the service. The hospitality from start to finish was great. I didn't feel that the ambiance was snooty as I assumed - it was in fact opposite, very homey and comforting. We had a seat close to the kitchen so it was fun for our party to see the team prepare the meals. I did love the fact we weren't given the rundown of the menu - we tried our best not to peek at other tables and keep it a surprise for the most part. For what you get, I think the price is justifiable. I thoroughly enjoy and look forward to a future visit!

Ruby B.

Yelp
I really thought about the review I would give my meal here. I almost didn't want to post it. But the meal I had was just ok. And for the price it should have been amazing. I can understand maybe not everything will be perfect, but for about half of the meal I would just say tasted ok. A couple things stood out: the risotto soup, the tuna. But the corn dishes, the pork belly dishes, and the reuben at the end just didn't taste delicious. I mean two of the courses were sliders. Why did we need sandwiches twice in a meal? And they skipped the chocolate part of my meal- they forgot to serve it to me. So, I guess I'm one of the very few people who wasn't totally satisfied with my meal. The service was impeccable (except for leaving out the dessert). The ambiance was charming. I've eaten at Cafe Monarch and Christopher's and Binkley's was very disappointing in comparison.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in to the very moment we left, we felt right at home. Food was nothing short of amazing. Staff was lovely and the space is beautifully decorated. Apparently, there was a private party in the other room...We couldn't tell, as the service was so smooth. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

Yelp
A dining experience! The unassuming building belies the meal and attention that you will enjoy. The single seating per evening allows for a relaxed presentation of approximately 10 courses in three different settings. We visited during March, the perfect weather enabled us to start at the bar, move to the patio and then the dining room. The meal is set (allowances for allergies are possible). Our favorite course was the scallops - truly memorable! We also enjoyed the foie gras addition. The service was perfect, explaining every detail of each plate and making the entire meal memorable.

Yelp
Our first visit to Binkley's because it was recommended to us. We went with another couple. We went in July so the moving part others mentioned was not able to be done bc of heat. We will try again in a milder season. I think it would be fun and as tot he experience. But we missed nothing going in July. This is not a simple meal, not even a special meal! This is an event of exceptional proportions!! The food is unique, creative, interesting and delicious!! The presentation is so creative and memorable you will be telling all your friends! Make your reservations today!

Yelp
This place has been a bucket list experience for a few years now and we finally got the opportunity to go! Only open a few nights a week. Seats 20 max and has one reservation time each night. Credit Card is used to secure your reservation. Immediately greeted by the friendliest gentleman who escorts us first to the bar to have a signature cocktail and small bite. We are then brought to our table where the evening of amazing -ness begins! It's a set menu and you do not leave hungry. The food and tastings just keep coming. We upgraded for the foie gras, caviar, and wagyu and soooooo worth it! I am completely at awe with the level of service, quality of food and presentation of the meal. It's truly like getting front row tickets to an amazing show. Kevin BINKLEY is an incredible chef and so creative. It's definitely a molecular gastronomy menu. So many mind blowing techniques used in the meal. Wonderfully talented Chef and he has the best staff. Menu rotates every few months I hear. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Wow... what an awesome experience! From the easy check-in, to the personalized b-day card, to the first cocktail (and second and third), to the repeatedly tastebud-teasing courses, to the incredible level of service, this was the best meal I've had! I could stop right there and that would probably be enough to justify the five-star review, but... it's me and I don't ever stop, lol. Binkley's brings its A-game with every single course. If you like friendly attentive informative service that welcomes your every question and provides fun engaging conversation, while also making sure that your every need is addressed, then you will love Binkley's! From sweet to salty to savory to rich, my tastebuds went for a journey like no other! I honestly cannot rave enough about this place that had been on my must-try list for as long as I can remember! I simply LOVED this meal! My favorite was the wagyu beef add-on - it was literally the best thing I have eaten in my life! ****FIVE STARS*****

Paalika B.

Yelp
Amazing! We did a wine pairing and a 13 course meal (with some dietary restrictions) and everything was so unique and flavorful. Chef Brinkley was able to accommodate all of our restrictions without compromising the flavors of the dishes! The wine pairing was also great but next time, we may just enjoy the food when we come back!

Yelp
This is the best fine dining experience in the state. There's no question about that. Monarch and Reserve pretend to be, and for a very high price, yet can't tell me who their chef is, either because nobody wants to rep their over-salted chode, or because they don't have one. I can tell who who the chef is here - It's Kevin Binkley, and his name is on the door. HE is in the kitchen; a place where Christopher Kostow, Doug Keane, Grant Achatz, Corey Lee and other truly great American chefs tend to be. Thomas Keller isn't in the kitchen, and that's why Binkley runs a better restaurant. He's not as famous or celebrated, but I promise he's better. See for yourself.
google avatar

Mathew D.

Yelp
Very intimate and definitely one of the better Michelin restaurants I've been to. I will be back and definitely recommend the chefs wine pairing. 10/10 experience staff was very knowledgeable and respectful. Selected the premium add-ons with zero regrets.
google avatar

Daniele G.

Yelp
Here's the thing, if you need to look at the menu prices, your in the wrong place. The meal, ambiance and service are exquisite and top dollar. Reminds me of The Brown Derby in NYC where the maitre dee would say "if you need to check the prices you can't afford it." However if you want to have a memorable dining experience, this is a great place to go. It is also excellent for impressing clients or your in-laws. You do have to make your reservation well in advance since there's limited accommodations. .

Yelp
This Chef is absolutely insane!!! I am extremely upset that every other dining experience I have in the future will truly pale in comparison to this one!! This experience was, without a doubt, a Michelin 2+ star level The evening was a whole experience..started with a cocktail and small bite at the bar, then we moved to an outdoor patio table and served a platter of many different small bites that were exploding with flavor. We were then seated in the main dining area with a view of the Chef working his magic, and served more and more delicious, unique, and fun small plates. Thank you Chef Binkley and your team- what a delight!

Yelp
This is based on Binkley's at home Take Out. I've enjoyed Binkley's Restaurant at the original location for many years. This is one of the few restaurants in the country that serves fresh tasting delicious truffles. Wine pairings are also amazing and are a must do if you drink wine. The Binkley's at home take out is an approachable affordable taste of what Binkley's has to offer you. For $65.00 per person we got an amazing 5 course dinner to enjoy at home. They practice safe distancing. You order and pay on line. They run the packaged food to you wearing masks and gloves and fill your backseat with packages. The food was all incredible and well packed and labeled. I was surprised that the hot food still actually stayed hot on my 35 minute ride home. The joy of Binkley's food is that you always taste something that you never tasted before. I also enjoyed the take out because for the first time I actually felt like I went out to dinner with the five courses we had. The $65.00 a person is a bargain considering that to do the real thing with wine paring runs around $400.00 a person (w/tip).

Yelp
Truly an amazing experience from start to finish. Attention to the smallest details, were not overlooked. They were accentuated, and highlighted in ways that left us amazed and surprised. All this while sourcing from local farmers and suppliers. A definite feeling of royalty, We've never felt before. Thank you for the unforgettable experience. Sure to return with the favorite people in my life

Yelp
What a special experience it was to dine at Binkley's on 11/24/21. 5 star service, 5 star food, 5 star atmosphere. This is definitely a spot for a special occasion and the price reflects that, but it is 100% worth every penny. Chef said they change the menu every 2 months and I really look forward to our next special occasion visit. 13 courses were all amazing - innovative and exciting, yet approachable. Every single bite was the best version of each ingredient I've ever had. I kept saying "this one is my favorite" until the next course came out. I can't say enough good things!

Yelp
If you're looking for an intimate unconventional 3 hour dining experience, then this is it. It was a night of 20 guests in the restaurant, and 18 courses for each of us. The bar food portion of the menu was appropriately served in the bar area while the later courses were served in the main room near the kitchen. The food portion of the evening is $245 per person and this is including the tax and mandatory gratuity. It's called "tasting the menu." The menu changes on a weekly basis. The drink portion is $198 per person, this is including tax and mandatory gratuity, and this is mostly wine pairings with each meal. If you're only interested in cocktails know that the first cocktail of the night is complimentary! Know that you can also purchase certain pairings if you really want them as the night goes on, like we wanted the 1 sake pairing, and the 1 beer pairing. You would pay for these at the end of your meal. They also have other cocktails you can choose from outside of the wine pairing menu, like a Moscow Mule or an Old fashioned. Just ask for the cocktail menu. I find it impressive that they're able to cater to the dietary restrictions of each individual but are also able to move everyone around seamlessly. For example, multiple groups are given tours through the garden, bar, and kitchen and at each point you're given a food sample catering to your dietary restriction; they are able to keep everything straight. The whole night was pleasant, but the dry ice touch at the end was probably the highlight, especially since Chef Binkley himself had come to our table to present that one for us! The following day Chef Kevin Binkley called and left me a thank you message for coming in! How sweet, thank YOU Amy and Kevin for a wonderful evening. The goodie bags are a great touch as well!

Yelp
This was quite the experience! A truly exceptional, chef-driven, tasting menu, work of art, and the exclusivity makes it even a little more special. I also must point out that, IMO, most wine pairings fall way short, whereas this one really delivered. Notably, the service was impeccable as well. Bravo!

Yelp
Amazing experience! After moving from Boston to Tucson a couple years ago, we've been on the hunt for a high end restaurant serving a multicourse experience. The drive up to Phoenix was SO worth it! We celebrated a birthday there last weekend and were treated with the most outstanding service. The kindness and attention to detail is truly top notch. Even before our reservation, Christian called a couple days to confirm the reservation and kindly assisted when we decided to add the wagyu and foie gras to our meal. As for the food, what a journey and experience! The creativity, partnerships with local farms, and presentation was so beautiful and delicious. My favorites were the snacks (cherries stuffed with foie gras!!) and the tomatos set. We had a couple cocktails and ordered a half bottle of a red wine, per the recommendation of Amy, which was delicious. We also had a chance to speak with Chef, who was so kind to treat us to an extra bit of the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu. The foie gras addition was a hefty portion, which we had no complaints about! We can't wait to go back, maybe during the winter time to see what seasonal creations Chef has in store! Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Yelp
Incredible meal. This is Michelin level tasting. The dishes are creative, technique heavy, and really tasty. The service is also just as good as the food

Yelp
I can't imagine ever having a more enjoyable meal or evening than the 2 occasions I have been lucky enough to dine at Binkley's. The food is creative and delicious. That staff is friendly and engaging. The chef treats you like a friend. Get a reservation with friends. Get the wine pairings. Enjoy yourself. As good as it gets.
google avatar

Yelp
They resolved all issues I'd recommend to all They called me. Very graceful Have a reservation or January

Yelp
A real disappointment. Only three out of the dozen dishes we were served were truly outstanding--the foie gras, the octopus and the wagyu beef. Most of the small dishes were strictly okay. The chef apparently loves sweet peas but did we really need three separate plates with peas? There was even a sweet pea soda, which wasn't very good. I had been looking forward to eating here for months and I am so disappointed. Service was superb.
google avatar

Sam G.

Yelp
No wonder they have won several James Beard Awards! Chef Kevin's rating menu is well thought out from the very beginning till the very end. The menu changes with season. The best part is that they source a lot of fresh veggies and such from local farms. The whole dining experience is very interactive! We also did the Wagyu add-on. You will get the grade of A5-12, which you will be given a certificate that shows their source. Overall, it was full of surprises and deliciousness !!
google avatar

Judy T.

Yelp
Outstanding dining experience! Every course was exciting, fulfilled our expectations & best of all there were the elements of fun! Chef Binkley should be up for a James Beard award! Every staff member of the restaurant was willing to answer any questions concerning the course. Chef B visited every table, enjoyed that! Yes, hope to do it again & hopefully the fun couple sitting nearby that has been there 6 times is there again!

Yelp
Michelin reviewers look here! We recently experienced the tasting menu at Restaurant Boskinac, which just received its first star, and Binkley's definitely holds its own. Although Chef Binkley has flare, his dishes don't generally come out looking like a green glowing cube and tasting like pork. Instead, he seems to focus on recognizable ingredients blended together in unique ways that make you ask "why have I never mixed these two ingredients before?!" (ex: dates and chorizo - who knew?). We were fortunate to experience the 22 course tasting menu before the COVID-19 shutdown, and since that time we've been ordering Binkley's At Home every chance we get. The in-person tasting menu is an experience of a lifetime and is a great celebratory dinner for an anniversary or proposal, and you definitely should make it out to meet join Chef Binkley in the kitchen and have a drink on the gorgeous outdoor patio. While the in-person sessions are closed right now for COVID-19, however, there's a tremendous deal to be had - a 5 course gourmet take-out menu for only $65/person, much cheaper than the typical in-person experience. The portion sizes are large (we were STUFFED despite skipping lunch), and the quality of the take-out holds strong - our hot dishes tasted like they had just come out of the menu. My guess is that Chef Binkley is picking dishes for the stay-at-home period that stay hot longer and keep well for an at-home dining experience, and he's doing amazingly. We had a french-inspired menu two weeks ago and it literally felt like we were eating a french meal in the countryside. Every course was incredible and felt like the 5-star dining experience for which Chef Binkley is known. I was also very impressed with the precautions that the restaurant seems to be taking - our meals were delivered to us in the car by a masked and gloved member of the team to ensure safety during the pandemic. I would definitely feel safe booking an in-person experience here once Arizona reopens knowing that all proper precautions will be taken. Can't wait to come celebrate re-opening with you when it's time - but for now, we'll be enjoying another Stay At Home with Chef Binkley this weekend. =)

Yelp
What matters most in life is our relationships with people we love. And as life gets busy, it can be easy to forget that what feeds and grows and nourishes relationships is new, shared experiences. Travel. Games. Challenges. Adventure. This is the stuff that makes memories of laughter, of joy. Binkley's has exceptional service (a host of people who clearly love what they do and relish bringing delight) and exceptional food. But Binkley's offers more than an amazing meal. If you are willing, this is a journey to the Wonderland of Food with surprises we couldn't even have imagined beforehand. The chef and his wife travel the world to bring ideas and flavors back home, which he spins up into edible magic. I learned a little about how amazing restaurants work, gained insight into how dishes that look like art and taste like heaven are conjured up, I learned that I do like truffles (which I had stringently avoided for decades) and that they like me. As the night went on, I realized that I totally trusted the chef and tried dishes I never would have tried at other restaurants. We all remarked at how even things we normally wouldn't care for (bread and butter pickles for me and my father) were exquisite in the way they were made and paired at Binkleys. We laughed. We learned. We made memories. This is a culinary adventure you can share with people you love right here in Phoenix, without getting on an airplane. I can't recommend it more highly.

Yelp
If reps for the Michelin Guide ever stop in Phoenix (Which might be a long ways away since only 4 US cities are currently in the guide) Binkley's would be #1 on their radar. My last dining adventure that even comes close to my experience here would be at David Barzelay's Lazy Bear in San Francisco, a 2 Michelin starred restaurant. It is no surprise to me that Chef Binkley is currently a semi finalist for the James Beard Awards this year. Chef Binkley truly put his heart and soul into the redesign of this restaurant. I remember enjoying eating here at this location back when it was called Bink's Midtown which had more of a traditional set up so I was excited to try out his new restaurant concept. The dining experience in its execution is very similar to Lazy Bear in that you reserve and pay in advance for your meal through their website. The cost was similar to Lazy Bear's pricing in San Francisco at $165 a person base price, with options to add on wine service or items such as Wagyu beef or caviar for an additional cost. You will also pay an additional fee on top of the base price for tax and tip. At this time you can also list any food allergies or restrictions. Service first starts out on the patio, moves to the bar, and then to the main dining area. Each course has a small portion of food, spanning through 20+ courses during your 3.5 hour dining adventure here. Each dish has been carefully thought out and exquisitely crafted. We hit a blackjack jackpot with 21 delicious and creative courses, starting with a lovely tequila-grapefruit cocktail and ending with a decadent white truffle panna cotta. They pull out all the stops for the dishes here both ingredient and technique wise. Our courses had indulgent ingredients such as saffron, foie gras, white and black truffles. We even got to see an impressive jar of the largest, freshest black truffles I had ever seen, which was used for one of our meals (Black truffle nachos). I appreciated the fact that most of the ingredients are sourced locally when possible. My favorite courses were the salsify soup and the creamed chicos. In general our menu was best described as eclectic, borrowing elements from Southwestern, Japanese, and modernist cuisine. The courses themselves had a bit of whimsy to them which I absolutely loved. Where else can you get a dish that looks like a Brussels sprout but is actually Brussels sprout leaves with foie gras mousse hiding inside? One course even had an aromatic element, using liquid nitrogen to disperse a light pleasant orange "essence" while we ate our dessert. Service was impeccable from the gentleman refilling our water glasses to the sous chefs preparing the meals and sometimes serving them to you too. What put my dining experience over the top was simply Chef Binkley himself. He would go around to each table to chat and make sure everyone was having a good time. He welcomes people to walk into the open kitchen set up and ask questions. At the end of the meal I asked him about his Big Green Egg on the back patio; we had a nice chat about BBQ and grilling and I got a lot of great information from him. He even personally called a few days after our dining experience to say thanks. I would recommend Binkley's without hesitation to anyone looking for one of the best dining experiences you'll have for both food and service.

Yelp
What an experience! We had always talked about going here as a "bucket list" event, and finally my boyfriend made us reservations as a surprise for my 40th birthday. It was such a unique meal--I can't even really describe it as just a meal because it's almost like interactive performance art with incredible food. I really loved how thoughtfully it was all planned out, each course tasted amazing, and I wasn't so full I couldn't move at the end of the evening. The pacing and portion sizes were perfect. We had a great time and would go back again for another special occasion.

Yelp
For our anniversary we splurged but it was definitely worth it! Chef Kevin, Amy, Christian and all the staff were amazing and made us feel welcome even when we had a special challenge. The food was incredible and so unique! Who knew you could feel so full on such tiny dishes? 11 courses and 30 dishes later, we knew we had reached our limit. It was amazing!

Yelp
Service was snotty. The food overrated. The fish dish tasted like rusted cast iron... the acoustics needs help

Yelp
Exquisite Dining Experience! My husband and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 30th wedding Anniversary at Binkley's. Where to begin? My head is still scrambling to make sense of the spectacular taste, and experience of our evening. I guess, I'll start by saying how amazing it all was! From the moment you step foot on the premises, you are treated like the "honored VIP guest," of the evening! And it never stops, the entire night through! You WILL walk away in wonder and amazement, of a once in a lifetime experience! Also, you'll walk away extremely full and satisfied! For hours, and hours, and even up to the next day! I woke up thinking, "nothing I put in my mouth all day, will ever compare to what we ate!" (Until next time!) If you have any doubts if it's,"worth it?" Let me try, and push any hesitation aside! If you love exquisite food, prepared in away that will blow your mind, and tastebuds away. Then just do it! Your evening at Binkley's, is one that you'll remember forever! Binkley's is an intimate, and relaxing atmosphere, that is intended to feel as if you're a guest at chef Binkley's home. As he says, "nothing is off limits." You are encouraged to walk through the kitchen, as chef is preparing food, ask questions and interact! Such a fun and unique way to dine! With only 18-20 other guests, in the cozy dining room, you really do feel like you are at his dinner party. (Side note, this place is immaculate, their health score of 100/100 is very evident!) The atmosphere is so quaint and comfortable! Decorated perfectly. Much of the ingredients he uses are harvested in their garden at the restaurant and his personal home. Each refined bite, exemplifies the freshness and quality of each ingredient! We chose to add the beverage pairing for an additional $150 per person. Best decision ever. If you appreciate wine, hand crafted spirts, and brews! This is a steal! They are not stingy when it comes to pours and refills! (You will definitely want to Uber!) Each pairing was perfectly matched to each tasting, to reflect a perfect balance and compliment it's complexity! Incredible. Our first cocktail was a seasonal rhubarb slushy with lime vodka. I've never had anything close, to that good in my life! Spectacular. While sipping on our cocktails, we were led out to the garden to enjoy the a tour of fresh herbs and vegetables that will be used in preparation for the evenings tastings! While lingering in the garden, we were served a Harissa Biscuit with sweet pepper, mint, and mascarpone. From this point you are served multiple bites and drinks at the bar, In the kitchen, and at various stations throughout the home! Again, INTERACTIVE dining is awesome! Some of our courses before seated for the main courses are as follows; Geoduck Taco, Ham and Cheese Prosciutto, Chilled Porcini Ravioli, Smoked Wild Copper River Sockeye Salmon Dip, with Dill and Onion Puffed Rice Chips. Melon Shots to cleanse the pallet, Fried Zucchini with carbonated Russian Dressing, Buffalo Chicken Meatball with Duck Fat Hot Wing Sauce, and lastly a perfect Morel Mushroom Slider! I didn't mention all the detail that went into every single course, but it truly was exciting and different than anything I've ever had before! And Remember, we had the wine pairing, so everything we ate was served with a perfect wine carefully selected! Also an amazing craft beer infused with hot peppers! It was amazing, especially with that Buffalo Meatball! Now after many drinks and at least 11 courses by this time, you're seated at your table in the dining room. Let the spoiling continue! As more, and more courses are delivered and explained to you, it seems like there's no way, the next course could out do the next one, but they just kept getting better and better! It's honestly difficult to point out just one feature, that was our favorite part of the night. It was all incredible and the food and drink were outstanding! Learning the Chef Binkley worked at the French Laundry, with Chef Thomas Keller, was so exciting for me, considering that the French Laundry is on my bucket list, I feel that item on my bucket list, was checked off tonight! One more thing to mention about Chef Binkley, he is the most calm, engaging, and friendly man! He and his beautiful wife work amazingly together! (They also love their dogs, as much as we do!) He's delightful and talented beyond belief. We were handed a lovely departing gift, which held two leather Binkley's Coasters, our Special Menu, Wine Pairing List, Date Soup Recipe, along with a baggy full of local organic dates! Until next time.... I'll see you soon Chef Binkley!

Yelp
Brinkley's is the ultimate food experience. If you love Top Chef and other cooking shows and always wanted to try the food they prepare, I imagine it doesn't get much better than this. We've been there 2 times and plan to go back on our next big occasion. It's obviously not a cheap place, but for what you get and the experience, it doesn't feel like we over paid. It's all small bites but it's more than enough food. Can't wait to return and experience their next menu.

Yelp
After an evening at Binkley's you'll walk away with a few different thoughts and feelings. First you'll feel satisfaction in the knowledge that meal you just ate was one of the best you've had. Second you'll notice a bit of inebriation from the numerous glasses of wine you had with your meal. Next you'll have an understanding for how very wealthy people can get out of touch so easily. When people get accustomed to the type of service you get at Binkley's, it'd be hard not to become a different person. The last thought will be, "was that worth it?" We'll come back to that in a moment. This is mostly an experience but the fact remains that it is a restaurant first and foremost. That begs the question of "how's the food?" The food is delightful. There were 18 courses the evening I dined and I'd say 14 were fantastic although small. With 18 courses you do expect tiny samplings but two things can be true and that's the case here. There was great food but there was not enough food. Some courses were forgetful or felt empty but everything was executed with care and precision. The service was extraordinary. I have nothing but praise for the staff and their effort. The experience has been written about before but that's really what you're here for. You can celebrate your anniversary or birthday anywhere but you're here to be pampered and swept off your feet. They do a great job with that aspect and it starts from before you arrive and even lasts beyond your meal. I found it especially impressive to get a phone call from the restaurant the following day to make sure I had a wonderful evening. If meals like this weren't expensive, we'd eat like kings daily. Alas, they are very expensive. You can go to their website and see the current cost but you're looking north of $200 each with service without wine and $400 each if the wine pairing is included. Is it worth it? I'd say it is once for sure and perhaps annually. I personally won't do the wine pairing again and would instead elect to buy a bottle or have a cocktail. If you have a special occasion to celebrate and a reinforced wallet, you will certainly enjoy this night. Treat yourself.

Yelp
The best restaurant around, hands down. The food, service, ambiance all perfect. Chef and his wife were so friendly and welcoming to everyone, it made the experience even more enjoyable. We will certainly Be back.

Yelp
Excellent food and dining experience! It is totally worth hassle of reservation, and in our case, flying over from Chicago. The food ( the 22 small bite course) is served by very nice staff and also by the chef Binkley himself. Each ingredient is selected from the best source. If you are going to Phoenix, don't skip this place. Advance reservation is a must.

Yelp
I don't think I would have ever had the opportunity to eat at Binkley's if it weren't for covid. They had offered take out meals for a significant discount as compared to their regular meals. I got myself one of these to celebrate my birthday and it was a treat! It came with six courses and most of it was very tasty. The portions were also larger than they typically are at Binkley's. I would love to return to Binkley's one day, but this will do for now.

Yelp
If Phoenix has Michelin, this will surely earn stars, the question is only how many. The experience began in the front porch area where we were served with a bubbly, light cocktail, and some appetitizers. So we realized the game has started. When the party had fully engaged, they gave us a tour that started with the vegetable garden, and proceeded to the bar where we had another shot of cocktail. So far, we have all been enchanted. Then we proceeded to meet Chef Binkley and were served with a bite of goat cheese, wrapped with white truffle, then to another area to have a skewer of duck. Everything was bite-sized. After that, we went to the bar and had beer with some "bar foods." By now, we were all buzzed and excited. That's when we went to the dining room to really begin the meal: several courses all perfectly paired. The whole thing, of course, ended with two desserts. Yes, choose the beverage pairing. Yes, leave your car home and Uber here and back. Yes, you will remember this meal for a long long time. Oh, take a nap in the afternoon. It's a long dinner.

Yelp
My wife and I dined here for NYE, which was a one-of-a-kind experience. We spend mostly all of our disposable income on traveling and dining, having being blessed with the ability to do so all over the world. Having done so has broadened my perspectives, which makes me question whether this meal was truly worth it or not. Now, to be fair the price was certainly no surprise, as you are able to select which type of experience you'd like to have, but its still weighing on my conscious a bit. We added on the wagyu and chose the higher-end wine pairings, since again we were celebrating New Year's Eve at Binkley's. For full disclosure, so you know I am not a penny-pincher: this meal (for 2) was well over a thousand dollars, all-in. Most people's first automobiles don't cost as much, to put it in perspective. That's a paycheck for most people in this country, so I won't exactly be admitting to my friends or family how much this truly cost. The menu lineup and ingredient list were of the upmost quality, there is absolutely no denying that. We were sent home with a photocopy of our cow's A5 rating from the Japanese government, to prove the quality of the Wagyu. In addition to the wagyu, there was also king crab, white Alba truffles, black summer truffles, foie gras, and more. This is truly eating like a King (and/or Queen), and the service matches that notion, as you are treated like royalty. Aside from the wagyu, which was killer, I'd have to say our first and last courses were huge highlights of the meal. The first was a smorgasbord of snacks, including this eggy-custard-dip-thingy that we were told had a red-ish hue because the farmer feeds his chickens a ton of paprika. Now this is the type of stuff you'd expect at a place like this, and what makes it so unique. Skipping ahead to the last course, was a decant peanut butter explosion, whose texture and flavor was unmatched in anything I've ever had. But even after all of these extravagant ingredients and preparations, I think our favorite item might have been the mushroom bread, which was its own course. The chef himself brought it over, with a smile from ear-to-ear, explaining that he has been tinkering with the recipe for many years. I cant explain how much I respect this guy's passion; he looked like a proud father as we lay the bread in front of us. Hands-down, without question, this was easily the best bread I've ever tasted. As far as the drawbacks are concerned, admittedly some of them are uber critical, but quite honestly I feel like they are justified given the price of admittance. First and foremost: the wine pairings. Each offering was actually a half bottle of wine, meaning the two of us drank the same wine for 3 or so dishes in a row, with re-pours. Now I realize the menu is comprised of many courses, and there are other dinners in the restaurant who need to drink (and eat) simultaneously with us, but I felt skimped out. Not by the quantity, but rather from a top notch sommelier experience. Given that the restaurant had more staff buzzing around than there were patrons, you'd think this could be accommodated. Hell, I've been to enough high-end/Michelin-type places that I know it can. I flat out think its an unacceptable process at this price point. Did the wines pair well and taste good, though? Yes, they did. Next, I found the service to be slightly pushy in terms of eating time. Yes, I understand that they are trying to time all of these tasting menus to come out of a busy kitchen at the same time (here I can even physically see it happening), but there were times that it was so glaringly obvious - it became uncomfortable. And again, the service was great overall, I just wouldn't describe it was "seamless", which it should be at a place like this. Lastly, there were some misses on the food, highlighted by an oddly cloyingly sweet mushroom dish with a gummy texture. I know I am not Pete Wells, and I don't try to be, but if I am paying the equivalent of most Americans' paycheck for my meal, I expect it to be downright flawless.
