Treehouse Hotels That Won’t Kill You

"Bio Habitat sits on a mountaintop just outside the coffee-producing city of Armenia, surrounded by unspoiled native forest and affording an immersion in nature that’s entirely appropriate for an eco-hotel. Here there are no mere accommodations, but ‘Habitats’ – most of them suites, designed in an unapologetically modernist style, with vast picture windows that provide expansive views. For total immersion there are the ‘Aviaries’, elevated structures tucked into the forest, with glass on all four sides." - Le Guide MICHELIN

Beautiful birthday experience! Loved the service and the views and peaceful environment all around. Definitely a place that you go and visit again and again. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Luis, Daniel, Camila, Johanna. And all of the ones we interacted with were super nice and professional. Loved it there. I recommend it.

I booked for some clients of mine, a nice couple. They had a mixed review of the place. The electricity went out, and they were without hot water. The hotel also overcharged me, but refused to issue a partial refund for the amount overpaid. There general manger has refused to respond to my emails. I can not in good faith recommend this place to my clients.

Most importantly this hotel is beautiful and a joy to relax in. The gardens are stunning and the rooms a joy. Yes you do have a panoramic view of Armnenia city, which is much better at night when just lights, but there is lots of lovely garden and birds to enjoy. My wife and I had a Grand Master suite which was superb with a private pool and a hot tub. The hot tub is controlled centrally but was piping hot each afternoon/evening so no problem there. The pool was lovely to dip into as hot during the day. The outdoor bar area by the restaurant was also lovely with a fire pit and a DJ playing relaxed chilled Ibiza type music. And the spa area was seriously nice and many people just relaxed there using that pool, sauna, steam and enjoyed drinks and food there as well.|My one big frustration was the lack/slow service each night in the restaurant. Breakfast and lunch were no problem at all, but dinner was not good. We had 3 nights there and never have I seen so many staff look so busy without actually doing anything. They were all really nice when they did speak to us, but clearly they are not managed effectively. I think there was a manager there, but not sure as he did not speak to us or any other guests. We waited over 30 minutes every night to get a drink or have our plates cleared. Instead of enjoying desert and another glass of wine we were so frustrated that we just gave up and retired early. A real shame when everything else is so nice. And going to alternative restaurants I think requires a 10/15 minute cab ride, which we did not do.

Absolutely stunning hotel and unforgettable experience. We were both quick to say this was the best hotel we've ever stayed at due to the location, facilities, service, amenities, rooms, and literally just everything. Falling asleep to the sound of birds chirping and waking up to a breathtaking views of the forest felt like a dream. If you're looking for a nervous system reset, this is an immediate fix. Lastly, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly - and very patient when I attempted to speak Spanish.

This is truly a magical place, we've really never come across something like this anywhere else in the world. From the start the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the place gives off very relaxing vibes. We did the hiking trail (around 50 minutes) and it was beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous, extremely clean and room service is always available. The restaurant has a nice menu, the presentations are on spot and you can tell the ingredients are all fresh and perfectly selected. By the way, the dessert with Milo is just phenomenal, would have it all the time. Overall, we had an amazing time and we would love to return. We are recommending it to all our friends and family.

This place was amazing. Super laid back, beautiful views, good food. Room design is a little wild.. No door to the bathroom and most of the walls are optional (Giant sliding glass windows). Stayed for a few days, very relaxing.

This was one of the best, if not the best hotel we've ever stayed at! My partner celebrated her 30th birthday here and it was a dream! Impeccable service, stunning ecolodges and views, incredible food and such a relaxing experience at the spa. This place always surprised us with its beauty, and the staff was incredibly kind. Thank you! We can't wait to come again.
