Nestled in the breathtaking Tuscan landscape, Biondi Santi is a historic winery renowned for its exceptional Brunello di Montalcino, offering an unforgettable experience for wine lovers.
"One of the most popular wineries in the world, Biondi Santi's tours and tastings are superbly rated—for good reason. This is the seat of Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most popular reds coming out of Tuscany around the world. When you book, you're asked a series of questions relating to your knowledge of and interest in wine; from there, you'll be matched with a guide and tour type. Even those with little (or no) knowledge can enjoy the sweeping views and the history of the vineyard, as well as the universally edifying experience of learning about a trade and practice." - Erica Firpo
"As rare a collection as you will find, Biondi Santi’s wines have been sampled by the current Queen of England and were hidden during the Second World War—now into its seventh generation, the company is still family-owned and run. Using knowledge passed down through the family since the 1800s, they are widely considered the creators of Brunello wine. (The first recorded mention of a wine called Brunello was in 1869, when Clemente Santi won two silver medals for his vino rosso at Montepulciano’s agricultural fair.) Today, in the hands of Franco Biondi Santi’s two children Jacopo and Alessandra, the Tenuta Greppo estate spreads over 60 acres in the heart of Montalcino, and includes vines dating back over 80 years. Elsewhere in the cellars, bottles from Biondi Santi’s 1888 and 1891 Riservas still remain." - Bridget Arsenault
