Absolutely love Birch, the Summer Blend was a perfect nod to the end of summer and the conversation with my barista was fabulous & a flower shop is near by along with Central Park - makes for a lovely day! #coffee #flowers ☕️💓💐

Google
Cute cozy coffee shop! Each drink is handmade and made with quality. Great Matcha latte. Drip coffee is smooth and the aroma itself is so comforting. Small, hip local vibe. They have simple syrup on the side counter so you can sweeten your drink to your liking. Selection of baked goods looks good. I tried their blueberry muffin, which was good. It can get busy in there, but service is quick and friendly. Drinks are good. Love Birch Coffee! Wish there were tables or chairs to sit and enjoy the vibe and have a relaxing moment, but it's still nice to stop in and will definitely be coming back.

Google
Ever had a latte so good it makes you want to cry? Because I just did. It goes without saying that the coffee here is worth the price ($6.80 total for large, medium is actually a small). Customer service was great. Cafe itself is cozy but a bit cramped, so definitely more of a grab and go type rather than a sit in and work/study place. I will be returning when I’m in the neighborhood again :)

Google
This coffee shop is simply fantastic! Undoubtedly one of the best coffee spots in Manhattan. Each cup is just perfect - the aroma, the flavor, the texture, all top-notch. And the freshly baked goods here are just amazing! Pastries, croissants, doughnuts - everything is deliciously crafted with great skill. But what truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The cozy interior, pleasant music, and friendly staff - everything is designed for you to enjoy the moment and feel at ease. It's perfect for a solo morning coffee or catching up with friends. In short, it's the kind of place you want to keep coming back to again and again.

Google
Cool vibe seems like it would be a good spot for coffee. My friend got the Matcha and it was the worst matcha we had both ever had in our lives. It tasted like stale water. The espresso tonic was pretty bad, but maybe espresso tonics are just not my thing. They put two full pumps of syrup in a 5 ounce cup and put sweet tonic water on top so the coffee was completely buried and the whole thing was undrinkable. Pass. Might try their coffee on a different day.

Google
Great small coffee shop, can barely fit 5 people inside the store. Place has coffee and tea along with a few baked goods. Great blackberry matcha latte. Hard working people behind the counter made it super fast and easy.

Google
Great Coffeeee.. exactly what I needed to start my day.. The host Michael was excellent - both professional and highly passionate. They also have selection of bakery although I didn’t try any but they looked delicious.

Google
Better than Starbucks!!! Wish more people could experience the benefits of drinking freshly roasted specialty coffee. They have multiple locations in the city and we’re glad we came by to grab some coffee and beans!

Yelp
I stopped into Birch coffee after a run and I really enjoyed my cortado. The shop on the UES is small, which makes it a bit confusing as to who is in line and who is waiting to get their coffees. That being said, the coffee was very good and I'd recommend the shop to anyone in the vicinity.

Yelp
Cute place! I'm not a big coffee drinker but I can't resist good pastries or tea. Whenever I go, there's usually a line but the baristas make it quick. The space is tiny so sometimes you have to wait outside. I've had their chai latte and hot chocolate, as well as a few of their scones and they are outstanding. A very close trip to Central Park. There are a lot of corporate-ish coffee places around the area so it's nice to support a local brand.

Yelp
When I arrived, there was only 1 other customer. When I picked up my coffee, the place was slammed. I was very lucky I arrived when I did. Popular place in a good location. The employee who took my order seemed like a trainee. Nice, but slow. The staff making the beverages was very good. He was singing the whole time. Fun. It's $5.55 for a 10 ounce flat white.

Yelp
I've walked by so many times thinking I'll go in one day. So, this weekend I finally stopped in thinking it is mid-morning and won't be a crazy rush. I hate being rushed especially when I haven't been and want to take my time deciding on a drink. I think I picked a good time because just as I got my drink, a rush of folks came in back-to-back. The two baristas and cashier were moving fast though! I asked the cashier for a recommendation because I wanted to try something unique. He suggested the matcha latte with orange cream even though he prefers a regular vanilla latte. I was hesitant, but boy was he right on how good that drink was!! For some reason I thought the drink would be orange or have orange foam on it? However, it looks just like a regular green matcha latte, but the orange cream is mixed into the drink. Surprised at how well the flavor combo worked! I paired it with a chili cheese palmier. I took it home and toasted it a bit and boy was that divine! Crispy, buttery, flakey! They don't have an oven at the shop, but if you can wait to take it home and heat it....it is heavenly. Small shop with just standing room only so mainly for to-go orders. No restrooms. They sell a variety of drinks and baked goods. $5.75 for a basic matcha was decent pricing for the neighborhood. A quick walk to Columbus Circle from the shop. I would grab coffee & a treat and head to central park for a walk. Can't wait to be back! Shoutout to the cashier who gave me a great recommendation this weekend!

Yelp
After a run around the Central Park loop, I stopped by Birch Coffee since it was conveniently on the way to my next destination. I picked up a small COLD BREW and CHOCOLATE CHIP SCONE which hit the spot this past Friday morning. The cold brew was good but on the more forgettable side, nonetheless refreshing! The chocolate chip scone filled me up and it wasn't too sweet or dense. Paired well with the cold brew. Total was about 10.00 including tax! The interior is pretty small and more like a stall -- definitely a grab & go place.

Yelp
This is such a cute coffee shop, and their drinks are great. Tried the iced Matcha latte and it was delicious. Good flavor and not watered down by the ice. Unsweetened on its own, but with vanilla or simple syrup it's lightly sweet. Service is nice. They handcraft each drink and are helpful to answer any questions.

Yelp
One of lattes in the city is a Burch coffee latte I live really close to one while I live in Midtown East so I highly recommend checking out the spot and walking around - maybe take a walk to the east river?

Yelp
I've been a loyal customer at a variety of Birch locations for about a decade. Their signature iced tea is exceptional and the Cold Brew is above average. BUT...the croissants are so stale that my dog won't even eat them!
google avatar

Noah M.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere and extremely friendly baristas, the coffee is delicious. Birch coffee is great quality, both in drinks and the whole beans. You can get a punchcard for a free coffee, which pays off if it's on your daily route. This location is not particularly accessible/spacious - just something to keep in mind!

Megan L.

Yelp
Their iced hemp latte cures ALL!! Ordering ahead on the app is super nice and convenient!
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
Came by to satisfy a matcha latte craving and thankfully they have it! It's a small and cozy store and staff are very efficient and friendly. They have everything you need for a coffee or morning before work breakfast. The matcha latte was alright and wasn't the best I have tried but they are better than Starbucks and not so sweet.
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
Amazing coffee!! Best in this area :) You have to stop by there! Great stuff and quick service.
google avatar

Carolyn L.

Yelp
This place is quite nondescript that I never notice it despite walking past it a few times everyday when I was staying at my friend's place a block away. Another reason was I usually walked on the other side but still, there was no big awning to catch people's attention like other restaurants or shops. Finally on my last day in Manhattan I told my friend I wanted to go there as I saw it on the map. They do have loyalty card so ask for it if you are a local. It's a take out place with no seating. I had the flat white which was not bad. Besides drinks, they sell merchandise and some baked goods. I think the focus is their coffee beans and drinks. Good place to grab and go for a cup of coffee before going about your day.
google avatar

Tyler H.

Yelp
You can taste the freshness. Good way to start the day and my family got their coffee very quickly. No complaints.
google avatar

Arlene W.

Yelp
Such a cute, quirky coffee shop in Hells Kitchen near Central Park! Iced coffee was strong, smooth, and high quality ($5.50 for a large), and staff was very friendly! This is a grab and go spot, as there is no space for seating. They have a bookshelf with free books that you can swap. And plants with fun labels that made me chuckle (Aplantis Morisette, Amy Vinehouse).
google avatar

Helen T.

Yelp
Tiny place that fits about 5 people before he line has to be outside. Note, people will put orders through the app and can jump the line that way, so recommend, and a drink card if you frequent this place to get a free drink after a set amount of purchased coffees.
google avatar

Mary R.

Yelp
Coffee was balanced and not bitter. Ordered a latte and it was perfectly made! Staff was friendly and great service.
google avatar

Kseniia G.

Yelp
In my opinion, this coffee is one of the best! The staff is always polite and friendly. A very atmospheric place. My favorite coffee shop in Manhattan!
google avatar

Kobsupang R.

Yelp
I normally would go to Birch on the UES, but this one on the west side didn't disappoint! Grabbed regular latte and oat latte and a couple pastries. Everything was tasty and worth trying. So now I know I have another coffee spot I could stop by if I'm ever around midtown west. The service was great. Moving fast and didn't have to wait long for coffee which I loved. Although, it was a tight space, def not a place to hang out. Highly recommend getting Oat Latte and choc chip scone!
google avatar

Marianne W.

Yelp
Birch Coffee at this location is mostly grab and go. It's close to Central Park so you can enjoy a seat in the park and sip your coffee. This is not one of my favorite Birch Coffee Shops. I do enjoy their coffee when I'm in this neighborhood. Customer Service at all of the Birch locations is top notch. The employees are always friendly and efficient so you're not going to wait long for your coffee. That deserves Four Stars right there!
google avatar

Kristen G.

Yelp
I walked by and this little coffee shop caught my eye! I love birch trees. I ordered a large latte with hemp milk. They do not have almond milk. I'm not sure why? Anyway, the coffee was pretty good! The hemp milk is creamy. Made my drink creamy. Nice flavor. It's $6 which is average for the city. They have little cards they punch for your coffees. They also have an app. Next time I'm near this spot, I will stop again. :)
google avatar

Kelsey A.

Yelp
They have almond milk now! And with that simple addition, it's become my favorite coffee shop in Manhattan. The staff is genuinely kind and friendly. I've seen one male barista greet several customers by name. Their cappuccino is one of the best I've had in NYC period.
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
While there is virtually no room inside this coffee shop, the baristas know what they are doing. The coffee was smooth and certainly beautifully designed artistry using the foam. They do have one table outside, but for the most part I would grab a brew and then head to Central Park. Baristas were personable in addition to being competent.

Yelp
Stopped by on the way back to Virginia when a friend saw this place and wanted to try it. Not crazy about what I got. I ordered a Macha latte with oat milk and it felt like I got a cup of green oat milk. It also was mostly ice which I hate when you get a drink with a majority of ice. The good part about this place is that the service was good and quick. It's a nice small little store and there were only 3 people that I saw but they were friendly and it had a nice cozy feeling to it. My friend got the mocha latte and said it was pretty good so I guess next time I go I'll get coffee.
google avatar

Dillon G.

Yelp
Absolutley loved this place! Small whole in the wall with great coffee and super friendly service. Also providee a student discount!!!! Ordered a cortado and an iced mocha, both delicious. Definitely recommend
google avatar

Rob A.

Yelp
Definitely your grab-n-go type of location but also one that I dig. The coffee is on point and the service is top-notch. During the nicer times of the year, you can grab your drink and head over to Central Park, Hell's kitchen area, or anywhere around Columbus circle for some seating. This spot is cozy and offers some delicious pastries as well.
google avatar

Leanne R.

Yelp
Best ice chai tea latte and matcha tea in NYC! Cute vibes with the plants and great views for people watching in this adorable coffee house. Our server was very sweet!

Grace K.

Yelp
Asked the barista if she could make the matcha latte with almond milk and she said yes. Took a sip and something tasted off as I Immediately tasted the soy. Took another sip, confirmed it was soy and threw it straight in the trash. If you don't have almond milk, just say you don't have it. There's a huge difference in taste between soy and almond milk. and also customers should be given what they ask for given we're paying for it.
google avatar

Laura Alice H.

Yelp
Fast and polite service. Got the cold brew with a light splash of oatmilk, and it was great. My friend got the cold foam cold brew and didn't have much cold foam, but still enjoyed the drink. Wish there was indoor seating!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
This place was good! The staff was very helpful in choosing my drink. The lavender hibiscus latte was good if you love lavender and sweeter drinks. If you are looking for a not so sweet drink, the flat white was good as well. There is no place to sit if you are looking to sit down and have a relaxing cup of coffee but it was great to just walk in and get drinks in a timely manner.
google avatar

Kathy W.

Yelp
Cozy, well-lit, and friendly cafe. I love the creativity of drinks they have (I've tried the Mockingbird) and the quality of coffee is great. It's my go-to in the Hell's Kitchen area!
google avatar

Euge B.

Yelp
I had the toasted almond iced tea with milk and my partner had an iced latte. Both were delicious! I love that I had a fun caffeine free option. However, this location is listed as wheelchair accessible and it's really not. My partners chair couldn't handle the bump at the door, and there's so little room inside that it would have been really hard for her to navigate in her chair inside. She had to wait outside while I went in and ordered. Edit: they are not listed as wheelchair accessible now, I'm not sure if it was when my partner found it, but our experience was definitely diminished by the lack of accessibility.
google avatar

Brenna L.

Yelp
I loved this cute little coffee shop. There's almost no seating, but it doesn't feel super cramped even with a line. And boy is there a reason for the line. The baristas are upbeat and welcoming, the coffee is made quickly, is beautiful and instagram-worthy, and tastes incredible. Their roasters have done an excellent job, as the espresso does not have an acidic flavor. The barista's recommendation of the iced hemp latte was the favorite, but the hot oat milk latte was also fantastic.
google avatar

Kathryn F.

Yelp
Great spot! Great staff, always pleased with the coffee. But cramped during rush, but if you have patience it's very worth it :)

Yelp
Checkout lady was the worst I have ever experienced at any coffee shop. I simply ordered my drink and 1 biscuit. As I was waiting, I remembered I never received my biscuit, so I came back up to the counter to let the checkout woman know that I never received my biscuit. She couldn't even acknowledge what I said by looking up and directly at me. Instead, she proceeded to grab my biscuit with attitude, placed it in the bag, and then threw the bag at me on the counter with attitude, without even looking at me. Immediately, I was shocked!!! I understand people have bad days, but you never treat anyone like that. The manager of this store needs to review this and action needs to be made. I will never come back to this location because of this.

Anthony C.

Yelp
Do not buy from here, place is absolutely disgusting and leave milk out for hours on end..there cold brew is disgusting and super tangy, sign of being left unattended for far to long
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Super kind staff and very reasonable prices. A very small shop in Hell's Kitchen that is easy to miss but has great coffee inside. They also offer a student discount and have some great pastries

David C.

Yelp
Some of the best coffee I've ever had! The place is super tiny, big enough for just a few people in line, no seating or anything. Staff were pleaaant and made great coffee!
google avatar

Suri M.

Yelp
Hey customers, let's remember a couple of things. Come into the store, order a coffee. Or decide not to order a coffee and walk out. Or ask a question and then make a decision. But don't come in and give the barista a hard time just because you're having a bad day! You don't like the products they're offering? Great! It's NYFC, so you can go to any of the other cafes or delis in the block. Luckily, it's a small cafe, so even the jerkiest customers order to go and then leave. Customer behavior aside, the espresso is excellent, they have soy and oat milk, and prices are definitely cheaper than at the chain across the street.
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
Rating out of 10: 4 Ordered a cold brew with nothing in it. I usually prefer to order cold brew because I hate the sour taste iced coffee can sometimes give off. Paid $5 for a large and the cold brew was sour! Starbucks has better and stronger cold brew than this brand. Sorry, I would not recommend
google avatar

Ed C.

Yelp
Great coffee, mediocre pasties and weirdly grumpy staff ‍ maybe that's just New Yorkers though right?
google avatar

Chris Z.

Yelp
Decided to take a walk in the pouring rain (ok, it wasn't raining when I made that decision) and stopped by Birch Coffee. Really nice little shop, not stingy with the coffee, and it tasted great! Definitely stop by if you're in the area.
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
This was one of the best lattes that I've had in the city. I went in the wintertime, so it was one of their seasonal winter flavors, but friends of mine have had their year-round flavors as well, and all have come highly recommended. Definitely worth a try!
google avatar

Shelley C.

Yelp
This located for Birch Coffee I thought was better than the other I had been to. They were much more friendly, which I appreciated, especially first thing in the morning. I had an iced latte (unfortunately they don't have any flavorings like vanilla, they only have mocha and chai). But overall it was pretty good! It's a small place with no places to sit FYI.
google avatar

JJ J.

Yelp
Literally the best mocha I tried while in NY. We tried many but this took the cake. Baristas were friendly and chatty. It was only a take away window and there was a line. Try them ASAP!
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
Small but mighty! Tiny location about the size of my studio apartment's bathroom but smells way better. Two wee spots by the window for a quick sip on the way out. Hopefully they'll soon participate in the CUPS app here! But you're here to have the most delicious espresso-style coffee in the city. Made at the perfect temperature by relatively pleasant staff (hey, they get up hella early!) Personally my most fav is that they have oat milk (yes it's an extra charge boo hoo). Try it - you'll be shocked how delish it is! Long live Birch!

Anthony R.

Yelp
staff was rude and unhelpful , definitely made my experience terrible. I'd never come back due to the way I was talked to by their staff.

alyssa h.

Yelp
good music vibes and coffee. try the chili cheese palmier! also the baristas are iconic and nice.

Yelp
After a long morning of working from home, I was in desperate need of a cup of coffee on my walk to Columbus Circle. Thankfully Yelp pointed me in the right direction and I ended up at Birch Coffee. It is a super small shop in Hells Kitchen so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want to sit down and work or looking to catch up with a friend. The staff was super friendly and it was refreshing to see people who actually were happy to be at work. I went with the Oat Milk Latte and added in the fresh vanilla flavoring that they were advertising at the counter. The latte was so delicious, not too sweet and the perfect pick me up to keep me going. Taking one star off because the drink was nearly $6 and the drip coffee was pricier than other spots in the area so I couldn't see myself coming here throughout the week but will definitely be back to try a regular cup of coffee.
