"Bird and Betty’s is a great spot to meet up with a couple of friends and have an excellent meal while listening to the music of Jersey Shore icon Jimmy Buffet. Owned by the group behind Parker’s Garage, Old Causeway, and Black Whale, you can expect quality seafood like steamed clams and blackened mahi mahi. But unlike those other restaurants, Bird and Betty’s also has delicious wood-fired pizzas, which pair well with a local beer and a game of corn hole." - alison kessler, regan stephens, matt tervooren, tonya russell

Had a beautiful sunset diiner outside of Clam pizza and a pepperoni pizza along with a spicy fritto misto and some oysters on the half shell. Food was great and the atmosphere was even better on a gorgeous fall evening, service was good despite a boisterous crowd on a Saturday night. Glad that we finally got to try this LBI favorite.

Google
Pizza is really good here, clam pie is the best one on the menu. Fries with the bird sauce is legit also, highly recommend. Only improvement I would make on the pizza is to make it a tad thicker so it’s less flat bread with an outer crust.

Google
Love it here!!! My friends & I got lovely service from our waiter Andrew. He was fast, sweet, and made some great menu recommendations! We enjoyed our fresh mozzarella & clam pie! Thanks Andrew. We will be returning! Also such a great spot to watch the sunset.

Google
Food was excellent, ambiance and setting was great up on the balcony overlooking the sunset. Went during a quieter time so we didn’t have any drama with reservations etc. Service was excellent as well. Pizzas were great, pork Milanese was too as well as artichoke starter. 👍

Google
My recent pizza from Bird and Betty's was unfortunately a letdown. The pizza dough was overcooked and had a tough texture. It was so thin that it felt more like a cracker than a traditional pizza crust. There was no chewiness or softness to it, which made the pizza less enjoyable overall. The overall taste was underwhelming. The sauce lacked depth and seemed like it was applied sparingly. The cheese didn't have much flavor and didn't melt properly over the pizza. It felt like the flavors didn't come together harmoniously. The pizza looked uninspiring and lacked any visual appeal. It arrived looking flat and unappetizing, which was disappointing considering the reputation of Bird and Betty's Overall, this pizza experience was disappointing. I had hoped for a more substantial and flavorful pizza, especially considering the price. I hope the restaurants kitchen can work on improving their pizza quality and execution to provide a better dining experience for their customers.

Google
We were extremely happy!!! This place is a MUST! Our server Jenna was amazing. Go see Jenna, she made our experience perfect. Great timing on food and drinks. Absolutely delicious foods. When you are in LBI, stop in. Great music and great vibe!!

Google
Worst restaurant experience I have had in my life. Stopped here with my family and was truly disappointed. The waitress was scowling at us and was very unfriendly. We were served raw and smelly branzino. You must look at the photos. The pizzas are definitely made with canned sauce and the water tasted like dishwater. The fried chicken sandwich was unpleasant to eat. The fried layer was incredibly thick and greasy. Worst menu options I've seen so far. Maybe they should stick to being just a bar. I won’t be coming back. At least the mozzarella was good

Google
Love the vibe of this place. We went for lunch, bet the sunset time and night party would be awesome. A spacious location with lovely patio setup, ground floor is cute. Love the oysters and drinks. Sandwiches are yummy with freshly baked soft bread but relatively less quantity for the price they charge. Came around 120$ for 2.

Mary G.

Yelp
Went for Happy Hour- so enjoyed the succulent oysters and fabulous Margaritas made by Jenna. Service was friendly and professional. The ambiance was perfect looking over the water

Nicholas P.

Yelp
Get the fried chicken sandwich. It's the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life. Every single employee is kind beyond belief and so attentive, and the live music (on Friday) creates such a lovely vibe to hang out and vibe with friends.

Eric T.

Yelp
Awesome views, awesome deck, TVs, bar. Live music duo playing when we went Thursday night on the second floor. Sit in the shade or in the sun. I really liked my branzino. The scallops were pretty good. Service was attentive and friendly. The greeters, servers, waitresses are very young. Cocktails wouldn't be a reason I'd recommend going here. You pay for the lively scene with the amazing views and summer breeze.

Ed C.

Yelp
Great seafood menu, great appetizers menu, great beer and cocktail selection and the view from the upstairs outdoor deck is phenomenal. We may have been seated in the midst of a wedding dinner with NJ hipsters and young, happy people who added to the fun atmosphere. We tried the clam pizza, pepperoni pizza, oysters and a mix of deep fried seafood that was spicy, do I had another IPA. Life is good in Beach Haven. Get in here.

Joseph W.

Yelp
Enjoyed our night out the Bird & Betty's. It was a Tuesday but nonetheless. Still was on point service was excellent the vibe was defenitly a down the shore vibe it was cool upstairs was more like a bar vibe I think they might do live music there not sure but all in all. The food was very good we had almost all the apps on the menu ( was w/ a whole lot of people lol ) Re ordered the mussels they were that good enjoyed it & the dessert were banging good everyone said they were good didn't want & when they came everyone had a spoon so go figure !!!

Cindy M.

Yelp
Awesome meal at Bird and Betty's! First time back at this spot for a proper meal and we weren't disappointed. Was able to make a reservation on resy which was so convenient. Had two pizzas, margherita and mushroom which were delicious. The pork Milanese was huge and we shared it. Perfectly crispy and juicy. We also shared meatballs and frito misto. Cocktails were on point. I had a grapefruit appetizer. Our server, Severin was a delight. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great meal!

Jason P.

Yelp
Overall average experience. Food wasn't the best. We started with the fried artichokes with crab meat. The portion size is massive, and the crab was really good. Kind of confusing because the artichoke isn't fried but either way it was ok. The Pork Milanese was good, but pretty thick. Good scene for dinner with a fun crew, we sat near the DJ and the music was a lot of fun.

Yelp
Went here for lunch today, and had a good meal. Fun, casual vibe on the sunny deck overlooking the bay, with views of the water and Parker Island. The crowd was a mix of all ages, from college kids day-drinking, to families, couples, and a few tables of older folks in their 60s+. My husband and I ordered the mixed greens salad, which was delicious but somewhat overdressed (and heavy on croutons and Manchego cheese), and the roasted corn pizza, which was perfect. My Aperol spritz was pretty watery--too much Prosecco and ice, not enough Aperol--so I didn't order a second one. The orange wine I had afterward was lovely though. It was very busy, so we didn't see much of our waitress, but that was totally fine. I'd definitely eat lunch here again. Lunch for two, with two drinks each, was $108, including tip.

Frankie R.

Yelp
Really fun spot in LBI! Came here on a Saturday evening and it was hoppin that's for sure. This place is huge so we were sat immediately on the roof next to the bar. The rooftop is really nice, they had a DJ playing music and all of the staff was super friendly. I had the tuna and it was very tasty and fresh. It went perfectly with the vinegary bean salad and fresh pita. They cocktails were awesome - there is a huge variety so guaranteed something for everyone. After we ate we explored a bit into the back room with the stage. A band was preparing to play, looked like it was going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to going back.

Ric T.

Yelp
It's obviously located in a prime area and during the summer it's very crowded as seen by all of us trying to find parking spaces. And one can dine upstairs on the outdoor roof, weather permitting, or inside. There's a lot of security presence. I inquired about that and was told that there are a lot of bar fights. hmm, not a good vibe. Service was fair to midland. The orders came out very inconsistent. My friend said his order wasn't hot enough but declined to make waves cuz he was famished. My order took a half hour and it was just a salad. Food is ok. The kitchen needs to be more organized. The front of house is too inconsistent. Conversation is difficult.

Erin O.

Yelp
After hearing so much about this restaurant, I'm glad I finally was able to check it out on my visit to LBI. I also completely understand the hype. The restaurant is absolutely huge - with a deck upstairs with bay-side views and a very large first-level main room where my friends and I were seated. It was very crowded when we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday, so we were nestled away at a table next to a bustling bar. We started the evening off with 6 oysters on the half shell, which were paired with some tartar sauce and lemon. They were fresh and absolutely delicious - a perfect appetizer to share with a group. For our meals, we ordered lobster rolls and a fried chicken sandwich. The lobster roll was good (but doesn't beat a New England lobster roll), and the fried chicken sandwich was very fresh and filling. The side of fries (which we had to substitute for an extra cost) were pretty standard in terms of taste, but the portions were substantial. Overall, I was pretty happy with the dining experience and overall atmosphere of this bustling Beach Haven restaurant.

T. G.

Yelp
I want to like this place- the rooftop/fire pit is GREAT. The food experience downstairs was not great.. server was so nice but the moment appetizers arrived we had fruit flies in everything! Drinks and food.. legit everywhere! I killed about 10 of them. It was so gross. We immediately told the server who claimed to remove several items off the bill and moved us inside but we still somehow paid $200 check for 3 pizza pies, a few drinks and 1 chicken sandwich? The food generally is ok! I would absolutely only recommend for drinks upstairs!!!

Dan P.

Yelp
Wow. What a fun place. Food was outstanding. Service was really good. Great place to watch the sunset.

Joe R.

Yelp
Oh man. Talk about horrendous service...the waiters and waitresses are all 18-25 year old kids who cannot wait to close and go out. They sound like robots just repeating the same thing at every table. I've been working in restaurants over 25 years. I have never been more disappointed. The drinks were an absolute horror too. No short of disgusting actually. Not sure how this place is even open

Chris G.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Great atmosphere. I will look forward to the next time. ....................................................................

Nick A.

Yelp
Service was fine, but they said my ID was fake? Had to call police over just for me to buy an $18 cocktail... pretty unfortunate.

Stephen E.

Yelp
Underwhelming. 10 of us were there last night, ordered apps (wings, octopus, meatballs) entrees (pizzas, mahi-mahi sandwiches, fried chicken sandwiches, pasta and clams). Pizza was overcooked to the point of being difficult to chew. Chicken Sandwich was small and dry, and the other entrees were OK, but nothing outstanding. They are understaffed, so the waitress had to take on way too much to serve us well, but we felt she was doing her best. It feels like they are relying on location only to attract customers and not focusing on the food and service. We ate in the dining room, so I would not suggest this establishment for dinner, rather go upstairs and have some drinks and enjoy the view.

Sally K.

Yelp
Actual food and drinks were great, but the wristband system is broken. They have a bunch of bouncers checking IDs at the front like it's some trashy NYC club (probably similar clientele, to be fair). One woman with short hair in security was particularly rude. Once you get on the rooftop, there are even more security guards who are constantly staring at you. Constantly. Creepy and incredibly off-putting for what should be a family friendly bar and restaurant. A friend who had forgotten his ID (but was clearly of age and had his passport/ID pictures on his phone) used one of our wristbands to order a drink along with the rest of us. We received all of our drinks and appetizers quickly and were halfway done with our drinks and food when the manager suddenly came over, interrogated us aggressively, and started asking for all of our IDs again. We handed them to him and were obviously one ID short, but he reran the IDs (this did not make any sense to us, we'd admitted to being one ID short so this seemed like a weird scare tactic), came back and told us we weren't allowed to order any more drinks. However, the waitress didn't come by to collect our drinks until ten minutes later, at which point some of the drinks had been finished anyways. Obviously we broke their rules/were in the wrong, but if they'd actually been worried about any underage drinking they would've immediately taken the drinks away and should've kicked us out. Instead they let us finish our drinks so they could still charge us for everything. It felt like the manager and security guards were on power trips and just wanted to make a spectacle rather than actually caring about the law. Really a shame. Not the waitress' fault at all, our waitress (blonde woman) was actually so sweet throughout the whole ordeal and was profusely apologetic although it was not her fault in the slightest. We had just easily hacked their pretty stupid system. Get better wristbands, actually enforce your rules, and stop trying to just be a cash grab.

Yelp
My group went on a Thursday night. Not too much was going on which is expected for a weekday, but all in all, not bad. Still had fun and the bartenders were very nice. Prices were fair. Id go back on a Friday/Saturday, I can see it being a great time. What ruined it was the security in the front. A women with very short hair and a 3 leaf clover tattoo behind her ear was very rude and overall pretty miserable. I understand work can be tough but taking it out on the customers is not professional. She was complaining about being there and wanted the bar to close so she can go home. I'm sorry but isn't that your job? Very odd. Feel bad for her co workers

Robert F.

Yelp
New way to start in this one. The view exceptional. Perfect view from almost every table except for mine and I picked mine because I didn't want to be in the sun and they were pretty busy. And the hostess still apologized. She was very sweet . It's Friday night in the summer and they are busy. It's a beautiful day and our waitress is killing it. But yet very attentive and refilled our water bottle multiple times. The layout of the resturant is great. Not sure about the velvet rope and security thing and all. But if that's what they want, fine. Upstairs is really cool flow. Our food was better than good. It's not fine dining but it is really good. Shishito peppers were awesome. Ceviche was huge but the short rib disco fries were insanely good. How the fries stayed crisp with all that stuff on it I have no idea. The meatballs were average. I expect more from New Jersey just by being so close to New York. But I think they might have been a little over cooked or the sauce was a little burnt. But they were fine. So now to the service. And a message to all the low reviews on service. Look around our table was touched by at least 5 people. Everyone is working hard. They are moving fast and I have seen everyone smile. Yes it's loud it's Friday evening. And there is a great bar. But the staff is attentive and hard working. Add a little more to your tip and a little less Erin our waitress is awesome. But come see her soon before she heads back to teaching. She smiled the entire night and managed more tables then most could. Update. Velvet ropes are here because this turns into a club at night.

Jarrett R.

Yelp
The bartenders are very cool and attentive. great place for a drink or two but they are 0/3 with me on the food. pizza, wings, shrimp cocktail should be very easy, but all 3 on separate occasions were pretty bad. great place to drink, catch a band, or just people watch

Isabella C.

Yelp
Everyone was very nice. It's was crowded but not too bad for a weekend event. Loved it and will definitely be going back

Aidan S.

Yelp
Pizza is not bad, recommend getting as appetizer. I got the blackened mahi mahi sandwich and I thought it was good. The service staff is friendly and fast. The place is beautiful, it's right on the bay.

Eri U.

Yelp
We came here to try something new on the island. We remember when it was the Catch and that food was ok. We got the fried mozzerella which was good, the frito Misto which was ok, chicken sandwich which was not good, and disco fries which were terrible. Atmosphere was ok, so I agree with other reviews that if you are looking for good food go somewhere else. Go here for drinks, music, and the view.

Shannon F.

Yelp
For being such a fun bar in Beach Haven, Bird and Betty's has some good food too. The pizzas are great especially the roasted corn, peach and stracciatella and clam pies. The drinks are great too and there are great views of the sunset over the bay.

Samantha L.

Yelp
The venue itself is a vibe and can accommodate big groups. Our waitress was great with warming smiles! The food however was extremely oily, over buttered or over salted. It over powered everything, especially the clam pizza. I wouldn't return for food - however will do so for dancing & drinks!

Colin C.

Yelp
For some reason, they didn't have grates on the floor that allowed you to pee while on the dance floor whilst wearing an apron to conceal your "piece." As a male with a "piece," I found this deeply inconvenient and not conducive to a genial environment. I hope they reconsider the floor piss grates going forward. Best wishes

John B.

Yelp
Had the best night being served by Anna & Jenna. Best bartenders ever; thank you ladies!!! Everyone come here if you want the best service.

Morgan F.

Yelp
I like this place for drinks and to go out on the island. There's definitely a reason why it's so popular on a night out. Good music, good crowd, and good drinks. The location is in a great spot and the outdoor bar is awesome. I don't however love this place for dinner. We came Fourth of July weekend and tried to eat dinner here. We were placed at a time in the middle of the outdoor bar. We were packed like sardines and there were drunk people spilling drinks on us and dancing while we were trying to eat. Food was average. Definitely prefer it for the nightlife better. Maybe dinner would have been better earlier before the night crowd.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Really, truly disappointing lunch. We Ordered a fig pizza and a margherita pizza. I appreciate a thin crust but these were more like crackers. Fig topping with arugula was pleasant but scant ; cheese was non existent. Other pizza had an unpleasant tomato sauce that looked like dried ketchup & didn't taste much better. Several paper thin slices of mozzarella cheese o top & that was it. It takes real nerve to serve such dreck never mind at a price of $20+ for each individual pizza. The view is attractive but it could never overcome the food. That's saying something.

Jill L.

Yelp
Food is not great and quite expensive , nice ambiance. Really nice for drinks and sunset watching.

Emma K.

Yelp
We stopped randomly, looking for a final place to try in our taste of LBI. It's very busy and loud here, some shade but mostly everything was in the sun. I was looking for a mock tail that I had seen online but it was no longer available. We tried the house salad and the corn pizza. I like the salad and the different vegetables that were in it. The corn pizza was good but it was just dripping with oil. If there hadn't been so much oil on it I definitely would've liked it better.

Dena N.

Yelp
3 of us went on a Tuesday night. We got pizza which was fine. Atmosphere is fun. The service was horrible though. We waited an hour to get our pizza at the bar and it wasn't even packed there. I've Never had to wait that long for any kind of meal (and we just had pizza).

rachel o.

Yelp
Food was ehh. The atmosphere is the best part, great views all around! I'd be back that's for sure

George S.

Yelp
A perfect night on the deck. We ordered cocktails as we waited for our table. We ordered the scallops and the clam pizza. Both plates were delicious. Our waiter was very attentive,

Kerin C.

Yelp
We had a reservation and arrived on time. When asked if we could sit outside we were told we would be charged 100 (25 per person) to cancel our reservation then have to wait on the walk in line. So we decided to go in. When asked if we could sit in the dining room we were told only parties of 6 or more were allowed. So we were shown to our table which was basically IN the kitchen. Again, we asked for a different seat and were told no. We were placed directly to the side of where the food was picked up, dishes stored on open shelving and servers waiting for food. We spent our time listening to the orders being yelled to the cooks and watching the work of the kitchen staff. The 3 tables were so close together that the woman sitting behind my chair kept getting her hair tangled in mine. I moved the table myself. You can get the idea of the ambiance .... The place was busy, the cooks were working hard... however.... Not one had any kind of hair covering. One cook had a napkin tied to his hairline that was covered in sweat. A few random baseball hats on cooks but it was clear they were not concerned with hygiene. Guys making food, touching their faces and hair. It was unsettling. The person running the kitchen must have yelled "Pisano" 75 times... we were IN the kitchen. . We decided to order basics and hope for the best. We ordered a pizza, a burger and crab cakes. How could it go wrong!? Crab cakes were mostly filler mayo and maybe mustard soaked in tartar sauce on a wet soggy sesame bun. The burger was cooked far too long and also slapped on a bun with way too many saucy toppings. Pizza was burned to a crisp... black crust . It was a major waste of money and time. The only plus was our waitress who was a nice young lady who was working hard and was attentive.

Peter K.

Yelp
Best pizza I've ever had. Perfect crust, nice char. Perfect sauce. The service and scenery is amazing too. Great chef. Just amazing pizza and seafood overall. I'm not that much of a pizza guy but I would eat this pizza every day of my life and it probably wouldn't ever get old.

George B.

Yelp
I came here two nights in a row. Friday was a 5 star dinner. Saturday was a 1 star mess. The only way to come to Bird & Betty's is for dinner. Make a reservation and enjoy the great food. The clam pizza was recommended to us and I wholly endorse it. One of the best clam pizzas I have ever had. We also loved the shishito pepper appetizer. Drinks were standard fare. Grab your cocktails and craft beers at dinner because at night you're going to end up drinking cans of something with Lite in the name. That was fine though as the live music was great and there's a lot of space to roam upstairs. Thankfully Friday night we did not have to deal with the bouncer. What a piece of garbage. Saturday we came over after having dinner elsewhere. We needed cash so we had to use the ATM available near the entrance. Well big mistake on our part I guess. We got harassed by the bouncer for not properly waiting on line....to pay a cover....that we needed cash to pay. After he descended into throwing insults we told him to shove it and we took our money elsewhere. As a bunch of 30 year-olds, we're beyond that nonsense. I do not need to return.

Ryland W.

Yelp
Ok, so we sit down at are table and it takes 20 minutes for them to take are drink order. When are waiter comes over she takes everyone's order but, completely ignores my son. She looked at him then looked away and took someone else's order. For some reason are waiter switches tables and we get a new waiter. His name was Andrew. Andrew was great he was a good waiter and helped us out a lot over all this place was loud not great service and not a great experience.

Suze D.

Yelp
Waitresses should get a raise for being under staffed, if you're a manager here, get it together and pay your staff better. And pay your bartenders better. They are working for you to keep YOUR customers calm. We understand it's LBI. But don't milk it. For real, pay them better since you can't hire more people. Food is okay, service is 2/5. Even with reservations , we waited for 45 minutes. Even with updates and getting there early.

George S.

Yelp
The service was horrible. Didn't have server come back to table, except to delivers first round of drinks, then our apps, then when our food was delivered. We even had to track her down for our bill

Drew L.

Yelp
Great food and great vibes. The service was great and friendly. Love the chicken sandwich!

C F.

Yelp
Our service was ok but everything else was excellent! The draft shandy was as refreshing as it could be and the house Chardonnay was quite good! We shared a dirty hand salad which was drenched with vinaigrette but delicious and jersey devils with perfectly cooked oysters. The view was gorgeous! Great spot.

Gabby P.

Yelp
Waited 15 minutes, no one even acknowledged us. We had to finally approach the hostess to ask if someone was coming to our table. Staff was unfriendly, manager was very immature. Take this restaurant off your list, there are many more on this island that will give you quality service and great food. This is not the one.

John G.

Yelp
The only thing that was not excessively seasoned with salt was my Heineken. From the plain fries, the short rib disco fries, chicken wings to the SPINACH ROTOLO. Nothing made us say "That was good."My wife and kids were over it pretty quickly. I'm going to need a salad for breakfast and a gallon of water. Definitely felt like I threw money away after this place.

Kelly R.

Yelp
Delicious food. The seasoning on the fries and wings is quite delicious. But prepare to have garlic breath, worth it. The food came out very quickly. However, they rarely cleared a dish until the end of the meal. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. The bathrooms - a shock at the condition you can find them in. For such a nice establishment, I would expect the bathrooms to be cleaner.

Juliette A.

Yelp
Loved the vibe here on the deck at sunset! Enjoyed the DJ. Had a beer while waiting for a table. Loved What we got- scallops, fried artichokes, and pork disco fries. Service was good too!

Susie W.

Yelp
This is the hot spot of LBI-the must see place, and where you wanna go for good food, good service, and a great view. Looking out to that breathtaking view, you can't help but be happy! We made a large-group reservation for 5:00pm and we're seated right away. We requested a table upstairs, and were offered a shaded table (bench seats in the back by the bar) or a sunny seat (in the front on the deck by the fire pits). We went for the covered bench table, but could have been equally as comfortable under the umbrellas out on the overlook. There is security at the front door to check all IDs using a scanning machine and visual inspection and if you are above the age of 21, you get a wristband. Then again when you are seated, your waitress will re-check your ID to ensure everyone served is of legal age. We started off with a round of drinks for the table. Although a little disappointing they were out of a few important ingredients to make some of their signature cocktails, we tried an array of their menu and were all pleased with our choices. We were all very intrigued by the "Wake The Dead" which is basically an espresso martini with tequila but sadly this was not available tonight. Favorites at the table were the frozen "blue crush" which looked like a movie theater slushee, but tasted great and also the straight up martinis. After coming here a few times and trying several items on the menu, I have to say their pizzas are just out of this world! Of course we had our usual clam pizza (a MUST try if you've never had, no one does it quite like BAB's on the island), and we added the new peach and arugula pie, and a classic pepperoni - all three were devoured in minutes. We were informed upon ordering these pizzas that since there is a separate pizza kitchen, the pizza comes when it comes and may be before or after other entrees, but we lucked out and everything came around the same time! We also enjoyed some shishito peppers (paired with Betty's sauce - so good!), fried artichokes (tossed with lump crab and pimento sauce - wow!), and BL scallops (over a bed of perfectly seasoned risotto). The table also split fried calamari, little neck clams, and perfectly crispy French fries. The entire night, we enjoyed live music at a very reasonable volume - loud enough to hear but quiet enough to still chit chat. Both the waitresses and bartenders alike were super friendly and understanding of our large group. The ambiance is unbeatable here, so much so that I think you should go here over absolutely ANYWHERE else in LBI! I'm sure I will be back again even this same week.
