I purchased collards for Thanksgiving I've never seen collards that big and so fresh. I will definitely go back, everyone was friendly and made me feel welcome. All of the produce was fresh. If you needed more they had truck behind the stand with more produce

Great farmers market. If you use EBT they double your spending money. So, if you put $30 on your EBT card, you get $60 in tokens for produce and other products like bread, baked goods, meat, eggs. The market is every Tuesday from 3pm-6pm in the Summer and early Fall. Once DST happens, they reduce their hours to 3pm-5pm and the market closes for the season on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving . They will reopen in the Spring.

Love love love!! It's right by a public pool, tennis courts, garden, basketball court, and field all open to anyone. The market is smallish, but has lots to offer. Definitely worth checking out!

Had a wonderful time at the Birdhouse Farmers Market! Met a lot of great people while working with Mahogany Sweets, a gluten-free, 90% vegan Bakery in Richmond, Virginia. Also had a chance to get around too many of the vendors and a nice variety of goods available. Check them out on any Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. now through November.

What a nice market! I left with my arms full of good local produce. Lots of options for seasonal fruits🍉, veggies, bakery goods🥐, soups, kombucha, flowers🌻, and more 🥰

Yelp
One of my favorite farmers markets in town. I love how intimate this one is. It's never too busy or crowded. I think because there is a small amount of booths, something about it feels even more like a community. The booths can change throughout the weeks, but some of my top visited ones are Oro Pasta, Agriberry Farm, and Amy's Garden. Live music is played by Bobby Joe Small. He is so friendly and kind! He'll bring a bunch of small instruments and leave them on the ground around him for children to play along. There is a good mix of food options here. I usually am able to do a majority of my grocery shopping for the week at this market. I really love Birdhouse Farmers Market and can't rave enough about it.

Yelp
Hey check that out, a farmer's market that's open on a week day. That can make it inconvenient for people who work during the day, except for their hours. They're open 3:30 to 7 pm. Not only are they open during the week, they're open afternoon instead of morning. I know right?! How unusual! I found this smallish market because I was taking the back streets, avoiding some gnarly traffic. It's tucked away behind Byrd house, hidden from everything. In its little grassy lawn, right off the Byrd House garden it's a lot like a little oasis. Parking isn't easy, since it's Oregon Hill near VCU. They say that there's a parking lot open but perhaps I'm blind, I've never noticed it. Nice veggies, friendly people, some artists and performers make for a nice atmosphere. Every week they raffle off a box of CSA veggies for the next week. I've never entered but you gotta admit, it's better odds than the lottery! Great place and great if you couldn't bring yourself to get up early enough for the market on the weekend!

Yelp
I'm a little bias because I volunteer here, but I think this market is worth the visit for everyone. It's food-focused, and often features live music, baby goats (for the kids to pet), face painting, and more. It also has a community garden, and it accepts SNAP EBT. I highly recommend this place!
